Chapter 7
My name is Terra
Smoke rose from the streets as an army of robots marched
And I am a traitor in my life I've betrayed my home my family and hundreds of others and it makes me sick to my stomach and one in particular cuts through me like a knife
In the distance she could see the Titans tower alit with flame like a barbaric shrine
The Teen Titans they let me in and treated me like I was one of their own but I betrayed them the first chance I got my name is Terra and I hate myself
"Friend Jake Friend Jake please friends he has stopped breathing and I do not know why" Beast boy rushed to Jake's side and began to apply CPR to the small titan
"Come on buddy your too stubborn to die"
"Come on Jake think of Izzy you want to see your girlfriend again don't you" Beast boy said before trying to breath air into Jake's mouth
Jake's eyes snapped open and he pushed Beast boy off him "Izzy no we have to stop him"
"Hey man BB just brought you back from the dead you could at least thank him" Jake tried to stand but fell on his back Jake tried again and Raven and Starfire helped him up
"Thanks Beast Boy I owe you my life" Jake said when he was standing "we have to stop Kane he he'll-Jake couldn't finish
"Kane's one of Slades guys right" Jake nodded Cyborg punched his palm and cracked his metal knuckles "then he's on our hit list anyways"
"There's no way you guys are fighting Kane without me" Jake tried to walk forward but fell "Dude you can barely stand how are you going to fight"
Jake put a hand into his pocket and pulled out a small green orb "my other healing sphere friend Jake a second dose for a non Tamaranian has had the unusual side effects"
Jake smiled "for my crew it's a risk I'm willing to make" Jake popped the orb into his mouth and his wounds began to heal after ten seconds there was not a scratch on the pirate titans body
"Titans go"
"One problem with that" Raven deadpanned "where's Robin"
Robin woke up observing his surroundings at a speed only surpassed by his mentor Robin's hands were bound with his arms over his head his ankles dangled above the floor in a empty room he was without his utility belt or even his costume all he had on was prison jump suit and his mask
"Hello Robin" Slade's voice said Robin looked but he couldn't find an exact source which meant it was an intercom "Show yourself Slade"
"I have far more important things to do with my time the observation of Jump City's destruction is high on that list" Robin clenched his teeth but otherwise made no reaction to Slade's taunting
"Your master trained you well tell me Robin why did you leave Gotham" Robin said nothing "I'm sure the Dark Knight wasn't an appropriate master to educate a child"
"SHUT UP" Robin yelled out raged how dare this man insult Bruce who took him in when his parents were murdered who gave his life a purpose who helped him become the man he was today
"And your outburst gave me the answer I needed you wish to prove yourself to Batman make him see that you can be a hero as well as he can it's actually adorable" Slade chuckled
"You're not a hero just a scrawny runaway who wants to impress his daddy and in the end Robin you have Failed"
Slade's voice stopped and Robin was left alone in silence the rope that was holding him in the air was held to the ceiling on a hook Robin began swinging the rope back and forth until he got to the wall Robin used it as a springboard to do a front flip the rope broke with the tension and the boy wonder landed in a crouch
"No Slade I haven't failed yet" Robin said aloud before working on freeing his hands
In the control room Slade observed Robin's escape "The boy would do well with your training" a man with close cropped blonde hair wearing a three piece suit commented Slade nodded
"Indeed Apollo" Slade turned to face him "be a gentlemen and check on Terra" Apollo nodded before turning into light
Alarms blared and Slade knew Robin had escaped even Batman wouldn't have been able to escape that room without tripping the alarms Slade chuckled before activating a communicator in his armor
"Six paths Robin has escaped deal with him how you see fit" Slade sat back in his chair and observed "so many variables but in the end victory"
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos" Raven called as her dark magic made a hole in the wall the titans leapt down into it
"A rat like Slade hiding in a hole it's fitting" Starfire said "let's move we find Robin and deal with Slades super villain team"
A ring of fire roared to life surrounding the titans "Super villains" Kane said walking through the flames the figures of the other paths could be seen surrounding them
"We prefer the term enforcers" Tormenta said
"TITANS" Jake called "Go" with the battle cry the titans charged at the six paths
Jake rolled under a slash from Kane the former pirate was now using his sword to fight him "you think you can beat me without a weapon you little brat"
Kane pushed the hilt of his sword into Jakes stomach pushing him back "I am Kane of the North Sea captain of one of the most feared pirate crews in all of Never land I am immortal
Jake pulled himself onto his feet "Immortal that's a good one there's no such thing as immortality and as for your crew I've fought worst"
Kane growled his fist became coated with flame "INSOLENT LITTLE BRAT" he roared "I'll show you" Jake felt a sensation at the back of his head and saw a vision of Kane going for an overhead strike
"Overhead strike" Jake said going into a crouch his former sword passing over his head "left knee" Jake said catching said knee before pushing Kane off balance
The former captain recovered and sent three fireballs at Jake who dodged them so easily before running at Kane and hitting him in the stomach with a full body head butt
Kane fell to the ground dropping his sword "I'll be taking what's mine back" Jake said walking over to his sword when he got another vision Jake rolled to the left as a giant fire ball flew from Kane taking the forever blade into the wall creating an explosion
"if I don't get it neither do you brat" Jake turned to attack Kane again but the former captain was already gone
While Jake was fighting Kane Beastboy had pushed Terra into a circular room as a rhino the green shape shifter turned to his human form and then got onto his knees
"What are you doing" Terra asked angry "get up"
"I don't want to fight you Terra I want to talk" Terra's eyes glowed yellow "I don't want to talk to you"
"please Terra let me explain" Terra rose a boulder and was about to throw it "if I'm lying you can kill me"
This stopped Terra in her tracks she moved the boulder over his head "did you tell Robin about my powers"
"No" the boulder moved slightly down towards him "were you spying on me"
"Not even for a second I wasn't pretending to be your friend actually I thought we could be more than friends"
Terra blushed she knew how to read people and saw that beastboy was telling the truth so she threw the boulder away from Beast boy
"Beast boy" she said hugging him "I'm so sorry" the green titan returned the hug "it's not to late Terra you can be better"
"Actually my boy it is too late" an electric shock went over Terra's armor before she pushed him back Terra stood like a marionette "forgive me" Slade said walking out of the shadows "It has been some time since I've last done this"
Beast boy growled "Slade" Slade laughed "and what are you going to do I'm in total control of Terra's armor and her powers"
Slade forced Terra to send a boulder at Beast boy the titan turned into a T-Rex and batted the boulder towards Slade with his tail
"Let her go Slade NOW" beast boy commanded "or you'll do what"
"I'll kill you" the temperature in the room seemed to drop "you a hero will take my life"
"sometimes you have to be the villain to save the day" Beast boy said tuning into a cheetah and rushing towards Slade the armored villain tried to hit Beast boy with a kick but he shifted from the fastest land mammal to a gorilla punching Slade before pinning him to a wall and crushing his chest
"so you will kill me what will your fellow titans say" Beast boy didn't respond even if he could Beast boy didn't expect to be hit from behind with a rock
the last thing Garfield Logan will remember about this battle was Slade's surprised expression
When Beast boy woke up Slade's hide out was filled with magma and the titans were all out "guys what happened" his eyes widened "TERRA where's Terra"
Robin put a hand on his shoulder "Beast boy" "no no no no" Beast boy fell to his knees crying
"she sacrificed her self for us for you she died a hero" Cyborg said Jake walked over and gave him a hug
"How do you do it Jake" he asked "your girlfriend is a whole world away how do you even get up in the morning"
"one step at a time Beast boy one step at a time"
