Chapter 7

I woke up in the morning, and Toshiro was sitting on the chair across from me. I was startled at first, then sat up and calmed down.

"I feel the presence of a Hollow around here." he commented.

"Well, shouldn't you go after it?"

"It's presence is very weak, and it's been like that for awhile. It doesn't seem interested in you at the moment."

"Oh, uh, okay. I'm gonna go make us some breakfast."

"What about your parents?" he asked.

"They'll be up in a few minutes. They normally don't eat breakfast, they just rush off to work as soon as they can."

"Where do they work?" he asked, trying to make conversation.

"My mom's a nurse for a local hospital, and my dad is a headliner at a car making factory." I answered as I got the eggs out of the fridge. I cracked the eggs into the pan, and I heard a door slam. "There they are now." I commented. My father came rushing into the kitchen, grabbing his shoes overby the back door.

"Sorry, honey, but we can't eat breakfast this morning. We're both running late." he apologized.

"It's not for you guys anyways. It's for me." He looked into the pan and snickered.

"I'm a growing girl, what can I say?"

"Eating all of that won't make you grow up, more like grow out." he joked. There were only three eggs in the pan.

"Just shut up and get to work!" I chuckled. He finished tying his shoes, and waited for my mom. My mom embarrassingly kissed me on the cheek, and they both left for work. The eggs were soon done, and I slid them onto two plates.

"Sorry about that." I apologized, giving him a plate of eggs.

"What for?" he giggled, "Your parents seem nice."

"They wouldn't be so nice if they found out there's a shirtless guy who spent the night in their daughter's room." I laughed. When we finished our plates, I took his plate to the kitchen.

"Are you going back to the Soul Society today?" I asked.

"Yes, but only for a little while. I need to report to my Head Captain, and maybe bring back some of my subordinates to help investigate. I looked down at his wrapped wound, accidentally straying over to his chest. I had almost completely forgot about taking his white jacket. "Oh, yeah!" I exclaimed, jumping up from the couch. I went back into the laundry room, and came back out with his white jacket.

"There was some blood on the jacket, so I got it out before the stain set in too much." I handed over the jacket.

"Thank you." he replied, slipping on his black robe, and put his jacket on. He then quickly excused himself to get his sword. He came back and slid it onto his back.

"I'm going to leave now, I'll be back in an hour or so." he said. He left, and I was there alone to think.

Toshiro went back to the Seireitei, and scheduled a short meeting with Head Captain Kyoraku. He waited in the Captain's office for him. He was running late, as usual. The Captain's Lieutenant, Nanao then walked through the door.

"The Head Captain will be with you in a moment." Nanao said.

"Thank you." Toshiro replied. A few minutes later, the Captain walked in.

"Ah, Captain Hitsugaya, I hear you have some news about the Hollow sightings."

"Yes, sir. I have reason to believe that the Hollows are after a girl in that town."

"And what's your reasoning for this?" Kyoraku asked.

"Well, each time I've tracked one of the Hollows, it seemed to be following the girl." Toshiro chose his words carefully, trying not to let the Head Captain know he's been trying to communicate with the girl.

"If your reasoning is true, than the girl must be special in some way. Captain, I want some information on this girl. Go talk to her. Turn on the Hitsugaya charm and figure out who she is." Kyoraku joked.

"Yes, sir." Toshiro agreed. The meeting ended, and Toshiro was dismissed. He left for his barracks, to maybe get some of his squad members to come back to Youngstown with him. As he was walking, he heard a woman's voice in the distance.

"Captain!" It was Rangiku. He was suddenly grabbed and hugged forcefully by her, "Captain! Where were you last night? I was worried sick!"

Toshiro pushed Rangiku off of him, then straightened out his Captain's jacket. "I was in the World of the Living, doing my job." he said, sounding very annoyed. He looked to his right, and saw Lieutenant Renji Abarai standing next to Rangiku. "Hello Lieutenant Abarai, what are you doing in the Tenth Division Barracks?" he asked.

"Me and Rangiku were going to get a few drinks." Renji answered, "Care to join us?"

"No, I do not wish to join you in drinking, and neither should you Rangiku." he complained. "I am going back to the World of the Living, and need some other squad members to come with me, do you mind recruiting some, and come with me?"

Rangiku let out a loud sigh, "I guess so. I'll catch you later Renji." she said, as she walked away. Toshiro sighed, thinking this was going to be a long day.
