Chapter seven has come around.

I'm gonna take a selfish moment here and say I'm proud of myself. With posting chapter seven, I've reached a huge milestone I've had for years with posting fanfics. Since Shiroijijo, I've had serious trouble with posting more than three or four chapters of any fic that I start. And now I'm on chapter seven of Dangerous Tonight with definite plans to finish and a sequel in the works already.

Now its time to thank everyone that's helped me this far. Everyone that's reviewed and added this story to their alerts. It means a lot to me. Time to answer reviews~ Thank you moonlight-rider44 and Guest for your reviews.

moonlight-rider44: Haha, yeah, Lyle's good at going off the deep end with poorly thought out plans. This one's gonna bite her hard. Everyone in Dullsville is gonna have a word to say about it

Chapter Seven

Hatsy's

Forty five minutes later the soccer team burst through Hatsy's doors, cheering and laughing and playfully scrapping with each other like you'd expect from a team that had just won a game.

I paused in my conversation with Jagger about my absolute lack of knowledge on soccer. The conversation had been getting quite heated; he couldn't believe that I didn't know the last thing about soccer even though my brother was on the team. The team's appearance was a godsent and I raised an arm to wave them over. Hopefully that'd stop Jagger's rant about all things soccer. Not that I didn't like seeing him so passionate, I just had no love for sport outside archery.

Trevor in lead, the team headed towards the cluster of booths that I had claimed for them when Jagger and I arrived over half an hour ago. As per usual, the 'important' people slid into the booth I was occupying. 'Important' people were usually Trevor, Jimmy and Matt. Trevor slid into the booth next to me while Jim took up the seat next to Jagger. He gave my black-clad companion a wary look before scooting to the edge of the booth. I kicked him under the table to get him to stop.

"No Matt?" I asked as Trevor and Jim reached over us to pick up menu's. As if they didn't buy the same thing every time they came here.

"He decided to go out with Becky instead," Jim answered. Becky was the new girlfriend on the block from what I had heard. It was nice to know Matt was pulling away from Trevor. I liked Trevor, but Matt spent his life in Trevor's shadow. Knowing Matt was getting out and making his own life was nice. I was sad enough to be happy over young teenager's lives. I really needed to go out and get my own life.

Jim's wary gaze turned on Jagger, who'd been sat silently with his steady gaze on me. "So who's your... friend?" His pitch went up as he said friend, as if he was questioning whether Jagger really was my friend or if he was a random guy off the street trying to do something unsavoury towards me.

"Oh, sorry," I apologised immediately, just now realising how rude I'd been, not introducing them as soon as Jim and Trevor had sat down. "This is Jagger. I met him in Greeneville. He's down here for a while to visit friends."

"The Sterling boy," Trevor snorted, his tone less than pleasant. I shot him a look. Would it kill Trevor to be nice to people outside of his cookie cutter mould? Apparently so.

Jagger, instead of looking insulted at the tone like I expected him to be, let his lips kick up into a shrewd grin. "Friend is a loose term at the moment. The two of us had... a falling out." That was news to me. Granted we hadn't talked about much since we had headed over to Hatsy's. If Jagger and Alexander had fallen out, shouldn't Jagger have been heading back to Greeneville? Not that I wasn't pleased that he was here, but wasn't the whole reason he was here to visit Alexander, his friend?

As if Jagger had said the magic words, Trevor's tense form relaxed back into the vinyl booth seat with an easy grin. "You fell out with him? What happened, you fight over Monster Girl?"

Jagger's cold smile morphed into a grin just as easy as Trevor's. "Something like that."

The rush of jealousy that ran through me at the thought of Jagger fighting with Alexander over Raven threw me for a loop. "So," I said sharply before I could reign myself in. My eyes turned down to the table as I did manage to grab the reigns of my temper and wrestle it into control. "Who's ordering what? I haven't eaten since lunch."

"I think I'm going to go for the burger and fries," Jim decided. It's what he had every time he came here.

"I think I'll go for a hotdog and onion rings." Onion rings sounded way better to me than fries at the moment. "Maybe a chocolate malt, too." I was a sucker for a good chocolate malt. Hatsy's diner made the best malts in Pineville.

Trevor and Jim slid out of the booths and headed over to the counter to rattle off our orders.

"You not getting anything?" I asked Jagger as my gaze flickered back to him. I knew Jim would order for me; the two of us had a sort of understanding about that. Jim's father was a total asshole to me. He also gave Jim a lot of money to line his pockets whenever Jim so much as looked at him. Jim didn't like the fact that his dad was an ass to me and came to the conclusion that he would spend as much of his dad's money on me as he could just to put two fingers up at his dad. I, of course, put a limit on that. I didn't like daddy dearest but I found it awkward accepting expensive gifts off someone, even if it was my brother. We eventually came to an agreement. Jim would pay for food whenever we met up and that was it. It didn't stop Jim from buying things that he knew I had been eyeing up for me, but I had little control over what he did when I wasn't around.

"Nah. I ate before the game." Jagger's tongue passed over his red lips and my eyes were drawn to the display like a magnet.

It wasn't until Trevor and Jim returned that I was drawn from the spell and tore my eyes from his mouth. "You guys were great tonight," I complimented as I fixed my gaze on Jim. I gave my brother a bright smile. Conversation would stop me from staring blankly at Jagger like an idiot, right?

"Oh, you actually looked up from your phone this time?" Jim snorted with an arched brow.

My grin hiked up further into a sheepish smile. "Uh...no," I admitted. "But someone-" pointed stare at Jagger "-was quite vocal about how good you were." The deafening roars in my ears and the heart attacks I suffered while sat in Jagger's lap told me that much, at least.

"They were good," Jagger defended. "That first goal was great. Your team is the best I've seen over here in America." Suck-up, much? The compliment started a very in depth conversation about soccer between him and Trevor that I had no hope of keeping up with. I slumped in my chair, eyes flickering back and forth between both light-haired teens, seeing their lips moving but not listening to their words.

"You coming to the carnival, Lyle?" Jim asked, drawing my attention to a conversation that I could actually keep up with.

Bettie appeared with our orders, passing them around the table.

"Yeah, of course." I couldn't miss the spring carnival. "Eddie, Jesse, Debsi and I are going together this year." Last year it had been Jesse and I that had gone. It had been a great date. "Loners get our group dates," I chuckled. I couldn't help the flicker of my gaze, landing on Jagger for a second. Would he come if I asked him?

"Think we'll get there early enough to get any Miller apple pie?" Jim asked wit an excited glint in his eyes.

"Oh, I hope so. I didn't get any last year. Jesse kept me busy beforehand and we got there late. I was so disappointed." A grin curled my lips as I leaned forwards. "Hey, you've got connections now. Maybe you can get Matt to convince Becky to hold some back for us," I suggested with a sly grin. I wasn't above using Matt to get to some of that delicious pie.

"What's Matt doing?" Trevor asked, done with his soccer conversation with Jagger.

"Procuring us some Miller pie at the carnival. You coming this year?" I asked. Trevor always had to make sure he had a date to one of these things. No date, no show.

"When I can get a decent date," he replied with a nod. It'd probably take no time at all for him to find a willing date. A decent willing date may have been a bit more difficult for him. Trevor was usually surrounded by the shallow type of girl. Not the sort of girl you would call decent. Not that I was one to talk. With the way I slept around when I went out to drink, I would probably be grouped in with the shallow slutty girls if someone were to put me in a group.

Jagger's gaze pinned me. I could feel it. "What's this?"

"Pineville's spring carnival. It's a huge event here. Anyone who's anyone goes," Jim explained as he waved a couple fries in Jagger's direction.

"Yeah, I bet even Monster Girl and Freak Boy will leave their crypt for it," Trevor snorted with a grin. 'Monster Girl' Raven always came to the carnival. This would just be the first time she'd be going with a proper date. Her and the Miller girl both had their proper dates this year.

"You should come, Jagger. It'll be fun. There are like a million rides and stalls and stuff." I smiled at him before filling my face with a bite of hotdog so I couldn't say anything else.

He looked like he was weighing up options for a long moment. "I think I might come. When is it?"

"Saturday."

He pursed his lips. "My sister will be here by then," he murmured, his hand coming up to brush his lower lip with his fingertips. His black nails were a stark contrast to his red lips and pale white teeth. "I don't want to leave her alone. Trev, you said you needed a date. DO you think you could take my sister?"

Trevor gave a shrug. "Sure, why not?" It would save him from having to look for his own date through the throngs of girls that would be excited to be seen with him at the carnival.

"Stellar."
