Hey, again not feeling well. So I'll skip the author to reviewer contact I do. Happy late Thanksgiving. Hope you all had a better Thanksgiving than I did. Apparently on Thanksgiving morning two of our relatives decided to beat the snot out of each other… at our house where we were gonna have dinner... This day traumatized so many of us….. Better luck next time huh?... ANYWAYS!
You may notice this story is gonna have longer waits and that's mainly due to Toy Story 4 being an official thing. Yea, so I now have to fit in another movie into this fic which actually caused the whole thing to crumble down. I had everything set up, I already knew who was playing who. Made some foreshadowing for the next film. Example being Branch having amnesia, that'll play a big part in the second Troll Story. I was gonna have have at least one familiar troll show up in each film and special guest appearances but NOPE! Toy Story 4 is a thing now! And I have to tear down everything I have and rewrite it! Ok maybe not everything but I now have to find a way to connect the 4th installment into this fanfic. Oh boy here I go.
Inside the bergens house, Branch and Creek were shaking in fear inside the bag. They peeked through the opening watching all the mutated and mangled trolls wonder around the room.
"We need to make a run for it," Branch whispered.
"Run for it? Run for it?! There is nowhere to run for it! I'm just a kid Branch! I can't take this!" Creek shook the blue troll as if he was insane. Branch slapped him off him and pointed straight to his face.
"Ah ha! You admit it!"
"What?"
"You just said your just a kid! But when we were at Bridgets house you kept insisting you were this fearless astronaut troll," Branch put up quotations for the last three words.
"I…. I am…. I am a brave and fearless troll!" It was clear that Creek had to force himself to say this. Branch caught on his tone right away and crossed his arms as if to say, really? Creek felt his heart beat so fast from fear and this situation wasn't helping him,It's just that…. I know when a situation calls for action and when it doesn't. And this situation so happens to be where we hide and hope for help."
"Help? Help?! Creek, nobody's gonna help us! No one knows we're even here! It's either we run for the door and hope to survive or rot in this bag for the rest of our lives," Branch grabbed onto Creeks arm and was just about to pull him with him but Creek pulled away.
"I can't!... I… I can't….." Creek pushed himself deeper into the bag let himself fall to his knees," I can't go out there. It's…. It's too much for me to handle."
At this moment Branch didn't know what to do. Creek wasn't cooperating and they were trapped in the worst place on earth.
"I knew it," Branch started off with a low voice," I knew you were a no good lying little son of a berry. The moment you walked into that house I could already tell that you were nothing but a lying little coward!"
Creek flinched a bit at the word coward. This didn't go unnoticed by the blue troll. In fact, Branch took this a way to dig for the truth.
"Yeah that's right, you're just a lying coward. Thinking you could just walk into my life and take all the attention and love. Believing that the whole world revolves you. Telling all those tal tales of you going on space missions and how wonderful your family is. But in reality you are just a coward. Tell me Creek, what's the truth? Are you really from NASA? Did you really train to be an astronaut?"
With each question, Creek could feel a lot of pressure start to build up in him.
"Tell me Creek. What's your true story?" That was it. Creek couldn't take any more of this. He had to get away from this troll no matter what. He looked down at the laser pointer he took into the bag with him. Seeing no other way, Creek held the metal thing into his arms and shut his eyes. He took in a deep breath preparing himself for what he was about to do.
"Creek? Are you even listening to…." before Branch can say anything else, the purple troll let out a war scream, zoomed past Branch and charged out of the bag. Branch looked out and watched the craze troll wave around that laser pointer of his at all the mutated trolls," Hey, wait for me!"
Branch ran after him. Without even looking, Creek swung the laser pointer everywhere hitting random trolls. He didn't care what he was hitting, he just wanted to reach the door. After a while of screaming and running around blindly, Creek and Branch finally reached the door and ran out. As Creek fell to the ground out of exhaustion, Branch used his hair to grab the door knob and close the door before any kind of creature can crawl out. Completely out of breath, Branch turned to look at Creek.
"There…. That wasn't….. That bad…. Right," Branch said between his breaths. Completely out of anger, Creek shot back up to his feet and was ready to take out his anger at him.
"Don't… call…. Me a coward…. Again!" Creek said very slowly to make sure the words got to his head. Without another word, Creek turned around and walked away.
"Hey, where you going?" Branch called out to him.
"To find a way out!" Creek answered with a cold tone. Near the stairs, when Creek was about to go down, he came face to face with a familiar alligator,"... Ooooooh shoot….."
Not even thinking twice, Creek ran off screaming and zoomed past Branch again. Following his lead, Branch screamed at the top of his lungs and ran after Creek with the alligator right on their tail.
Back at Bridgets house
With everyone asleep, Poppy suddenly shot her eyes open and shot out of bed. She held onto her chest feeling like she was out of breath. She swore she just heard a familiar scream. A scream of two friends she knows very well. She stood up on her feet and rushed over to the window. She could hear faint screaming coming from the other house. The house of the trio of terror.
"Branch? Creek?" Poppy whispered to herself. She shook her head and tried to hear the screams clearer. Unfortunately they suddenly stopped. Was she going crazy or did she really just hear Branch and Creek screaming. Feeling like she had to know for sure, Poppy took a pair of binoculars, cracked open the window and slipped out. She hopped onto the roof of the first floor and rushed to the very edge of the roof. She held onto the bergen sized binoculars and looked through one side. She zoomed into the window of the house and tried to see what was going on. So far nothing but darkness or dim lights.
"I swear I heard them screaming," Poppy whispered to herself as she continued looking. She then felt a sudden grip around her arm and pull her away. Followed by a voice all too familiar.
"What are you doing out here!?" The firm voice of her father filled her ears.
"Wait, dad. I think I heard Branch and Creek. They were screaming. And I think it came from that house," Poppy pointed at the house of the trio of terror. Peppy pulled his daughter back into the room and looked at where she pointed. He wasn't sure if he should believe her or not. But it didn't matter.
"How many times must I say that no troll should leave this house?"
"I didn't exactly leave the house, I was still technically in the houses area,"
"Don't start finding loopholes. You were out at night all by yourself."
"But I heard Branch and Creek screaming. I think they may be in danger. Dad we have to do something!" Poppy pulled onto her dads arm but Peppy only picked up his daughter and put her back into bed.
"No one is in that house darling,"
"But I heard them! We need to save them. Dad please…." Poppy tried to hop out of bed but again Peppy pulled her back in.
"Poppy listen! There is no way you are leaving this house! Ok!? I don't care what's out there!"
"You're not listening dad! I…."
"Do you know what dangers there are outside this house?"
"Yes which is why we need to…."
"No one needs to do anything! This isn't your problem Poppy! Branch and Creek are lost. And if they're in that house, I'm afraid they'll never come back! Ever!" Peppy slapped his hand over his mouth the moment he said that. He couldn't believe he let himself say that to his young daughter. Poppy sat in her bed in complete shock at what her dad said.
"Ever?" Poppy whimpered out. Peppy can spot some tears start to form on the edge of her eyes.
"Poppy,... Please….. Go to sleep. We can talk about this again sometime," Peppy laid her back down.
"When?" Poppy wanted to know.
"Maybe when your grown up," Peppy assured her. Once she was laying down, Peppy planted a kiss on her forehead and patted her head," but please understand, if you leave this house then you may never come back….."
"Branch isn't coming back?" Poppy was still in shock. Peppy didn't know how to answer her. He instead tucked her in and left. Feeling very uneasy, Poppy hugged onto her blanket and tried to go to sleep.
Back with Branch and Creek
The two trolls had finally split up and ran to different directions. Branch took the way that led him down stairs and to the living room. Their he let himself fall to the floor to catch his breath.
"F…. Finally….. A chance to catch my breath."
As the 13 year old troll rested for the first time all night, his ears caught the sound of the tv. Not too far from him, all three bergens were fast asleep on the couch with the tv on.
"Huh, heavy sleepers," Branch comment.
"And we're back on the topic of NASA," Branch heard the news from the tv come on.
"Great, more NASA stuff. I had enough of that for a lifetime…" Branch rolled his eyes at the tv
"It's been 6 months now since the rocket that carried two trolls had launched." When the lady announced this, Branch was suddenly al ears," The team were more than determined to send the first troll to the moon. Unfortunately the launch didn't go as planned….."
Back up stairs, Creek was running around while trying to grab some air. Once he was sure he lost the alligator, he leaned on the railing to relax.
"The rocket that held these two trolls malfunctioned and fell into the ocean. Drowning the poor two souls," Creeks ears perked up at this. He looked down to see that the tv was on and to his horror, Branch was watching the news about a certain event.
"A little after this incident, the space team were planning a second launch using one more troll they had tained in their station. But after just a week, the little young troll they planned to send disappeared," when the lady announce this, they showed a picture of a young purple troll training in the space station. This caused a loud gasp from Branch. This troll was unmistakably the same young troll Branch hated. Creek on the other hand began to have flashbacks of his past.
"The NASA team has been searching for this young troll for over 6 months now. They are offering a 90 thousand dollar reward for his return with a limited time. If they don't find him in the next few weeks, they'll cancel the search and move on to a new troll."
Branch couldn't believe his eyes. Creek was telling the truth. He really was from NASA. But why did he escape? It was at that moment when Branch saw Creeks reflection on the tv screen. He quickly turned around and called out to him.
"Creek?!" The moment he did, Creek ran off, not wanting to face Branch rightnow," Creek wait! Why did you leave NASA!? Don't you want to go back? Creek!"
Branch ran up the stairs after him.
Back at Bridgets house
Peppy was sitting down near the window, watching the trio of terrors house. He thought about what Poppy said. About Branch and Creek being trapped in that house. He wasn't sure if he should believe her or not. And even if it was true, what can they do? The trio of terror are horrible bergens and once you were in their grasp, there was no escape.
"Don't you think you were a bit hard on her Peppy?" Rosiepuff walked up to the elderly troll.
"I guess we were a bit loud huh?" Peppy recognized her voice without even looking back.
"Just a bit," Rosiepuff whispered.
"Poppy doesn't understand that she can't go outside. It's too dangerous," Peppy was still angry at what just happened.
"But did you ever bother on telling her why it's dangerous?" Rosiepuff asked as she took a seat next to the orange troll.
"She already knows. A troll can get lost in the big world. And when a troll gets lost, they'll most likely never come back….. ever!" Peppy raised his voice at the last part nearly scaring the elderly troll. After a moment of silence, Rosiepuff took a deep breath in and prepared to talk again. She placed a hand over his shoulder for a sign of comfort.
"Maybe she'll understand better if you just tell her the truth," The lady knew this was a stretch but she had to say it. She could feel Peppys body stiffen at the mention of this. His face scrunched up as if he was in pain. He turned himself so his back faced her.
"You know very well I can't. Poppy is too young to know," Peppy whispered to her. Even without looking at his face, Rosiepuff can tell he was in a lot of pain right now.
"Perhaps, but Poppy is getting even more couriose as time goes on. She's gonna find out eventually about…" Rosiepuff halted her tongue here. She wasn't sure if she should go any further but the tenseness in Peppys told her he knew exactly what she was about to say.
"Not yet," Peppy sounded like he forced those words out," She can't learn about her mother just yet."
"Does she even know what happened to her?"
"No and I plan to keep it that way," Peppy stood up on his feet and started to walk away from her.
"She's gonna find out sooner or later and from the looks of it, she's gonna find out sooner," Rosiepuff stood up as well and watched as the male troll walked away from her.
"Your the one to talk," Peppy sounded like he was at the edge of snapping. He turned around to Rosiepuff and placed a finger towards her as if to get his point across," What about that grandson of yours. That kid only has 3 years worth of memories and cant remember a single thing from when he was 10…."
"I already told him everything he needs to know," Rosiepuff felt her defensive side suddenly take over.
"Oh did you?"
"Branch and I use to live in the west. Where we lived with a bergen family who owned a ranch. Just a simple life. Riding horses and working the ranch. When the family decided to move, they put us up for sale and we were adopted by Bridget's family. That's the truth!" Rosiepuff felt her anger start to rise.
"Did you explain to him how he got amnesia? What about his parents?" Peppy had completely turned the tables now.
"He was caught in a fire with his family. When his mother tried to save him, she accidentally dropped him leaving him with amnesia. He and I were the only survivors," Rosiepuff answered with her voice starting to raise.
"Yea, keep that story. There's clearly more to it," Peppy turned his back to her again," Whatever it is, it's not like you'll ever know the pain of losing a loved one."
This was it, that was the final straw that caused the lady to snap. Out of anger, Rosiepuff marched to him and spun him around to face her.
"Don't think I don't feel the same way. My grandson is out there! Lost and alone! Every grandmothers worse nightmare! I have lost more than you think. I lost my son and daughter in law, and I don't believe I can handle losing another grandchild. Not another one, not again. Branch is all I have left!" She grabbed her cane and poked the end of it onto Peppy ls chest," But that doesn't mean he won't come back to me! I know Branch is a strong young boy and he would do anything to come back to his loved ones. I don't keep him in one place like you do to Poppy because I trust him….."
"I trust Poppy!" Peppy pushed her cane away and was about to leave until Rosiepuff pulled him back.
"Do you trust her enough to know the truth about her mother?" right after this question, the two of them remained silent. Nothing but the sound of the wind outside could be heard. Without a word, Peppy pulled his arm away from Rosiepuff and marched away still feeling his anger trapped inside him. Feeling the same way, Rosiepuff walked the opposite direction and to where she sleeps. But instead of laying down to rest, she stuffed her hand into her pillow case and took out what looked like a scrapbook. She walked to the door and slipped through the small opening. Still fuming from their talk, Peppy went straight to sleep. Unknowingly to the two of them, a certain pink troll was still wide away in her bed.
"Mother?" Poppy whispered to herself. She lifted her head up to look around. Everyone was still fast asleep. What was her dad hiding from her she wondered. Why was he so defensive when Rosiepuff was hopping into the topic of her mother? There was no way Poppy was gonna go to sleep now. Not when she now knows her dad is keeping something from her. She hopped out of her bed and ran up to the window to look out. She thought about those screams she heard. There was no doubt in her mind those screams belonged to Creek and Branch. She looked at the clock to see it was a little past 1.
"At 1 o'clock he heard her screams….." Poppy thought back at the story Peppy told them about the Maddy girl getting captured. How did he know every detail of that story? Unless it was someone important to him. The little 10 year olds eye's soon traveled away from the window and to her homemade rocket ship. There was one and one thing only bouncing around her head," I have to get over there."
And there we go! Don't worry everyone, I'll be sure to give you all the full background story of Creek! Wish me luck because now I have to tear down a couple scenes and rebuild a lot of stuff just to make everything fit for Troll Story 4 …. *starts to cry from all the stress*
