Knuckles was relaxing agisnt the temples steps. Every thing was calm and quite. A little to quiet for his likeing. His eyes snapped open and He looked behind him. He quickly stood up and began to run up the temples steps. After nearly tripping on his way up he finally made it to the top. He panted and looked around for a certain blue hedgehog. Finally he found sonic curled up in a ball,dead asleep. Knuckle let out a sigh of relief. He walked towards the sleeping hedgehog. He sat next to the fast asleep hedgehog and began to pet his quills thinkin. Sonic eyes flutter open."mmm.." Sonic groaned as he sat up.

"Oh sorry sonic I didn't mean to wake you." The echidna apologize.

"No, you didn't wake me up." The hedgehog said as he stretch his back try to get the stiffness out. The echidna watched sonic stretch." How long have we been up here any way knuckles?" That brought knuckles out of his thoughts.

"For a good 5 hours it's almost 5p.m." Knuckles said bluntly. Sonic eyes widen. That was the longest have ever stayed in one spot. The echidna chuckled at sonic reaction, he knew what he was thinking."Yep that is new record for you~" knuckles said teasingly to sonic who blushed from the comment.

"Shut up!" Sonic said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest as he stock his nose in the air. Knuckle laughed even more.

"Aww I'm sorry little grump hog , I'll stop." The echidna said with a smile on his hedgehog blushed from the smile. He always found Knuckle very handsome but he finds him even more handsome when he smiles.

"O-okay..." Sonic felt very embarrassed now." What Time are we going to go back to your house?" Sonic asked trying to change the subject.

"Well it is almost dinner time and it's supposed to rain in a couple hours... we can always leave now if you want. I really don't care much about it." Sonic thought for a little bit. After a bit he stood up.

"Hey knuckles, how did the master emerald get in me any ways?" He asked while they walked down the temple steps.

"Well, when you got hit by that one bad dude or girl what ever the gender of that creep is. You were sent flying. You went start in to the master emerald. That was glowing, once you touched it the master emeralds absorbed in to you like the 7 chaos emeralds would do. The master emerald has a mind of it own at time I guess it was try to protect it's self. But I don't know why it haven't left you yet." Sonic looked at knuckles with a confused look.

"W-why was it glowing?"

"The master emerald must have picked up of the danger and got ready to you know protect...but doesn't explain why it started glowing right after you got hit with black doom orb." Knuckles mutter to hI'm self when he go to the last part.

"How come I'm not super sonic then?"

"What?" The echidna stop dead in his tracks. Sonic repeats his question to knuckles agian. He didn't really think about that, the master emerald I'd more powerful then the 7 chaos emeralds combined. Why It didn't cause sonic to transform was a good question."Well I don't know the answer to that question sonic, but very good question." Sonic gave a worried look at knuckles but the worried Ness quickly faded.

"Okay,maybe we showed ask tails about that later." The red protected agreed completely with his blue friend. Then they began walking home. After 20 min of walkin the ad it to knuckles house. The sky was getting black and the wind picked up. Once they walked it began poor outside.

"Jeez, good thing we left temple or we would have gotten rained on." The echidna comment. He looked at sonic for his input, he found sonic holding himself on the table panting as his other hand was holding his head. "Sonic what's wrong?" He asked as he quickly got to sonic side.

"I feel so dizzy and my head hurts really bad." Sonic groaned. Knuckles grabbed one of sonics arms and place it around his neck, while put his hand on sonic waist.

"Sonic o think you should go to bed you might have a fever." Knuckles said in a very gentle tone trying not to make sonic head hurt even worse than it all ready dose.

"O-okay." Sonic said quietly. The echidna gently lead him to the guest bed room that was next to his room. He put sonic in the bed and pulled the covers till the reach sonic's chin.

"Call me when you need anything okay son-" knuckles stop in the middle of his sentence when found sonic fast asleep.'wow, he is already fast asleep... wait a minute I sound just like Amy!' Knuckles thought to him self as he left the room closing the door till it was nothing but darkness in the bedroom.

"SOME ONE HELP ME!" Sonic screamed as ran he ran throw a maze filled with twist and turns. The wall where covered with no old. The halls smelled like roting meat. Sonic felt his stomach turned in to a knots. He had to find away out. The blue hedgehog had screeched and screeched fir away out or for help. But no luck for him. Sonic felt hot tears run down his cheeks. "Knuckles! Some one! Where am i?!" Sonic screamed, hopping to hear a answer throw the darkness of this never ending maze."Please, someone, anybody." the blue hero whispered as lean against on of the mazes me any walls. He slowly slid down till we was sitting on the floor. He hugged his knees,and barriers his face on his knees and began to sob.

"Sonic, sonic, where are you?" A voice called out throw the maze.

Sonic head popped up. He knew that voice.

"Knuckles!" Sonic called out happily. He stood up and ran to his friend."Knuckles where are you? KNUCKLES!" sonic called put as he raced to find the owner of that voice.

"Sonic!" The blue teen turned around to find knuckles behind him with a smile on his face.

"Knuckles!" Sonic yelled as he ran up to the echidna. Sonic hugged knuckles waisted. "Oh, knucks I was so scared,that I couldn't find any body. I'm so glad that I found you." Sonic felt knuckles stroke his back. But some thing was off. The echidna wasn't talking to him. "Knuckles?" The hero emerald eyes widen. Knuckles mouth was stitched shot and knuckles looked to be rag doll like. " but how, you where perfectly fine...knuckles?" The doll looked at the now scared hedgehog.

" oh, you seek help from such a useless thing." Sonic turned to find black doom staring at him.

"Y-you, what have you done to knuckles!?" Sonic asked demanding. Black doom simply chuckled at the hedgehogs reaction.

"My dear boy this is all a dream, simple harmless dream~ your friend is very much okay..but as for you on the other hand... I came here to give you a small I don't know what you call it...a scare "

" A-a scare?" The blue hedgehog asked. Black doom reached out and grabbed the hedgehogs face.

"If you feel any pain, don't get mad at me. Your the one that didn't run away." With that he shot a powerful beam right in to Sonics face

"AHHH!"Sonic screamed as he quickly sat up in. He looked around to find him in knuckles guest room. Sonic glance at the small alarm clock on the small table next to him. It read 1a.m. The scared blue hedgehog tock a deep breath to relax him self. Out of no where there was a loud clap of thunder. The laud noise caused sonic to jump. He was shivering violently, his breathing was speed up. After what seemed to be a long time sonic quickly jumped out of bed and slowly made his way to knuckles room.
