Rose hadn't realized that she was fairly identifiable when she went on an exercise binge with Gai. Nor did she realize that sharing dango with Anko gave people a reliable way for people to look for her. It wasn't as hard as she liked to think it was to think it was to track Rose. She also hadn't realized that Katichi would be willing to look for her.
"Hello" He innocently asked, right as Rose met up with Gai to do a routine. Naruto had left in a rush, one of the teachers had offered to take him out for ramen and he wasn't going to stick around when the creepy shinobi was talking to Gai, not that Naruto would ever turn down ramen. Rose had gone over to Gai anyways, as she really did enjoy the workouts. Anko would be off this afternoon, also, and Rose wasn't ashamed to admit that the potential for a spar right after a rigorous warm-up tantalizing.
"Hi" Rose said awkwardly, not wanting to be rude, "what are you doing here?" She still was going to ask.
"Why, I am simply speaking to my rival. Did you suspect me of doing anything else?"
"No, I wasn't accusing you of anything" Rose backtracked. Still, as she was already there, Rose asked Gai, "Are you ready for a great training routine"
"Yes, I am most youthfully ready, oh beautiful training partner of mine, if my Eternal Rival is happily done" Gai agreed brightly.
"Wait, you two train together?" Katishi asked, feeling off balance.
"Well, it's not so much training as enjoying the routine. It's always nice to do a few laps, but one upping someone with feats of strength is much more fun. I can't manage the whole success that Gai enjoys, but it's still fun to try" Rose said happily.
"You are a most youthful training partner, Rose" Gai complemented, still not used to anyone taking his feats at face value, or considering them fun. Training with Rose was always a treat, even if she would never agree to weights.
"Why thank you, Gai" Rose said, flattered by the praise as always. The lonely little girl in her would always crave the affection that came with his praise, and that part of her was otherwise neglected. There were several reasons that Rose enjoyed their workouts, and she wasn't going to go into the rest.
"Can I watch?" Katishi asked, interested in the grown mother that considered training with Gai fun.
"Of course!" Gai agreed. "Where is your son, Rose? I don't think that he must hide this time as well, and he always looks so unyouthfully lonely in the tree"
"Oh, alright" Rose agreed. She carefully placed Sakumo on the ground from the tree that he had been on. She quickly signed to him that he could join the routine with them on the ground. He gave a quick cheer, but not too long. Rose didn't like it when he was obnoxious. Kakachi watched in amazement as the toddler that he had watched over at the daycare fallowed Gai in a workout for ten full minutes before he stopped, exhausted. That certainly explained how Sakumo managed his feats of streanth to escape the daycare pen. With Sakumo worn out by his effort, Katishi easily picked the child up and held him. Sakumo cuddled into his arms and gladly watched Rose and Gai with Katishi.
If it was shocking to see a toddler last ten minutes in Gai's warmup routine, it was breathtaking to watch Rose thrive with it. She managed to last a full thirty minutes in the routine. Not only that, but seeing her in action was breathtaking to watch. She was thoroughly pleased and engaged by the way she did those exercises, and it showed. She smiled throughout the contortions, a teasing dare that made Kakashi want to watch her move in more detail. She stayed relaxed throughout the pushups in a way that made him want to see what it took to excite her. By the time she took off for the running, a gentile gleam of sweat made him wish he had been the one too work her up to that state. No doubt about it, that barely restrained excitement she showed, the eye of the storm in her eyes, the coil of a snake for the strike, the deliberate pose of a predator about to chase after his prey, that wasn't anything that Kakashi was going to stop thinking about soon.
Kakashi was so distracted by the sight of Rose, that he could have missed almost anything right then. He couldn't really be faulted for not quite noticing when Rose asked if he was interested in looking after Sakumo for the afternoon while she meets up with Anko. It took a few repetitions for Kakashi to notice what it was that Rose was saying. "What did you say?" Why would someone who had been territorial over a child hand the child over to a person they weren't sure about?
"I just asked if you wanted to look after Sakumo a few minutes while a go meet up with Anko" Rose said, less than amused at the need to repeat the question. "If you don't want to, that's fine, but I thought that he's prefer to hang out with you than try to avoid debris from a spar"
"No, I'll take him for a while" Kakashi said, wondering if Rose was being serious. The relief obvious on Sakumo's face didn't help Kakashi pretend that it was a joke.
"Where should we meet up after I'm done sparring- I mean talking- with Anko?" Rose asked, switching terms mid-sentence when she noticed Kakashi's disapproval.
"I'll meet up with you at the park" Kakashi decided. "About when should we…" But Rose had left in a sunshin and was nowhere to be seen. "Does she often do this?" He asked Gai.
"Every time" Gai agreed, before taking off for his laps.
"I'm going to figure you out one day, Rose" Kakashi said, before returning his attention to Sakumo.
