Relapse ;

Three years ago.

"Oh come on just try it, it won't hurt." Miki coxed the girl, her smile widened as she seen Rin sign and slump her shoulders. She knew she won; she flashed a smile at Rogo who was relaxing on a rundown couch.

Rin lifted her eyes to look at Koga; he flashed a toothy grin and nodded his head for to go on. Quickly taking her eyes off him, she felt her cheeks start to heat. It had been a few days since she puked on his shoes. The day after the whole ordeal Koga had told her it was alright, that people puke all the time after they had a good share of liquor. Even though his words were comforting, she still felt the embarrassment of what had happen that night. Slightly happy that she did not have her first kiss in such a state. It was fate that saved her from something she would regret, or maybe it was just the booze.

She was a girl after all, and all girls dream of their first kiss. How they want everything to be perfect, with the perfect person. Being drunk out of her mind, was not what she thought would be perfect. After Koga gave her comforting words, he bent down and kissed her cheek before grinning and running off to catch up with Rogo. Leaving behind a red face girl, with her heart fluttering while butterflies flapped around in her tummy.

Now here she was at Koga's house, hanging out with everyone like she did every day. Koga lived by himself for two years now. Making his place the perfect hangout spot, since there were no parents around to watch them. Though she had lied to her father saying she was stopping by a female friend's house after school. Her father would have her head if he knew she was at a boy's house, and the fact that he lived by himself would only cause even more trouble.

Miki ,Rogo, and Koga were all two years older than she. At first she thought them as her age, yet found out later that all three of them had been held back a few times. The three of them all grew up together, and had been close friends all these years. She was the fourth to join the group of misfits. Even though she boldly stood out from them in many ways. Being from such a wealthy family she was dressed very nicely, and neatly compared to them. Though they did not look poor they just didn't really care what they wear. They simply tossed on whatever they felt like and carried on with their day, she on the other hand thought out her outfits for the day and the next day.

"Go on, try it." Miki snapped her from her thoughts as she gently pushed the white lit stick in her fingers. Rin never desired to smoke, nor did she really like the smell of it. Yet here she was about to try her first hit of it. She most likely would have just kept saying no if Koga wasn't there. Yet with his eye watching her every movement, she felt the need to try this at least once. She wanted to be noticed more by him, it was a growing crush.

So she pulled her hand close to her mouth, parting her lips she let the butt of the smoke to rest between her lips. Closing them around she drew from it, smoke filled her mouth and her lungs. And for a moment she forgot how to breathe. The smoke twisted around inside her lungs burning its way down. She forgot to exhale to allow the smoke to leave her body. Choking she pulled the smoke from her lips as she gasped and choked for air. Her lungs burned in anger of the new found poison, her mouth watered in hopes to try and wash away the nasty after taste the smoke left.

Around her she could hear chuckles of laughter, peeking up she seen the amusement behind their eyes as they watched her react to her first smoke. Her face red by embarrassment, she looked like a child compared to them.

"How do you smoke these things?" She croaked, her voice shaken still from the after effect. How anyone could suck on these things was beyond her, they tasted horrid along with the smell it left behind.

"It gets better" Rogo piped up from his spot on the couch. Letting his leg fall to the floor as he lay back a little. Turning his head away from her to look at whatever was playing on the TV.

"Here try again, it gets better." Miki handed back the smoke after a quick drag. Rin glared at the vile thing, she didn't want to try again. One time was enough for her, she didn't want to mess around and get addicted to it.

"I-" Before she could turn it down for good, a deep voice cut in.

"It does get better, that is how we all reacted to our first smoke." His voice was deep yet smooth, as he fished around in his pocket until he pulled out his own smoke. He locked eyes with her as his lips tilted into that beautiful smirk he had.

"Oh ..ok." Lost for words her cheeks little up. Looking down at the burning stick in her hand she repeated what she just did.

"Remember to exhale this time." Koga teased, only making the blush upon her cheeks to deepen. Nodding dumbly she did what Koga said. After a few more hits, she was finally getting the hang of it.

That was the start of her first addiction.

Few hours later.

The group had walked her home, quickly saying their goodbyes as they rushed off. Rin had lost track of the time once again, making it the second time this week. Already knowing what was going to happen once she walked in the house, she slowly made her way up the drive way. Rin had freaked when she noticed the time, her father had told her not to be late again. Rushing home with her friends following her, she forgot to brush her teeth and spray some perfume to cover over the thick scent of smoke.

Entering the house she did not make it five feet before a looming shadow was behind her.

"Rin." A low growl came from behind, peeking over her shoulder too look into angry eyes of her father. The golden pools were flooded with anger, while his face was as always a cool mask.

"I am sorry I am late, I lost track of the time again. I didn't mean to be late." She pleaded, she didn't want to be in trouble, she honestly did lose track of the time.

"Follow" Was all he said, as he tilted his nose up and walked past her to his study. Sighing she followed, she knew she was in for it now. He was taking her to his study, which was a bad sign itself. She slid the door close after him. Not wanting the servants to hear her being scolded.

"Sit." He demanded, his voice was cool. It left no room for argument. Rin followed his orders as she took her seat in an oversized black chair in front of his desk. Her finger playing with one another in her lap as she kept her head down. She couldn't meet his cold gaze, already knowing that it was filled with anger.

"Why do I smell smoke on you?" He questioned. His voice low almost to a growl. He had smelt it the moment she walked into the home. How could he not? It clung to her like a second skin.

Her head snapped up, as she met his gaze. Her heart beat raced as her mind followed its pace. Surely she couldn't tell him that she was the one smoking. Nor could she tell him that it was her friends. He would ban her from seeing them ever again. Opening her mouth that felt too dry for comfort a lie slipped out before she could think about it.

"Miki's mom smokes inside the house; I guess the smoke clung to me." It wasn't a lie, her mother did smoke, but her mother was hardly around, too busy having a party life to even stay in the house long enough. The silence carried on for a few moments, as she tried her best to not fidget under the hard stare of her father. After a simple nod she relaxed, sucking air into her lungs she forgot to breathe during those few short moments.

"I have already warned you about being late Rin. You shall now deal with the outcome of not listening. Until Friday you are only allowed to leave for school, after school you shall come straight home."

"Wha-" She opened her mouth to speak but his hand came up to stop her.

"That is all." He waved his hand to the door and turned in his seat. He did not like punishing her, yet she would have to learn. He did not repeat himself; if she couldn't keep track of time then she will stay home with enough time to think about remembering to keep track of time when she is out.

Rin grumbled, upset that she was grounded until Friday, which was two days away. She glared once at her father who was now busy reading paper work. Leaving the room she made her way to her room. It would suck only seeing her friends in school, she hated being grounded, what kid didn't?.

As the moon set into the sky, the home had become quiet. With most members of the home asleep Rin bit at her nails looking down the hall. Her hand shook, as her lungs ached. Cursing herself for lack of judgment, she wanted a smoke. After her first one, Miki gave her a few more, each one getting better and better. Now that the tobacco was out of her blood stream she felt the effects. She couldn't fall asleep due to the need. She had to do something about it if she wanted any kind of sleep tonight.

Quickly running down the halls she stuck close to the shadows. Last thing she needed was to be spotted by a night guard. Even though it was her home, they would report to her father that she was out in the halls at odd hours of the night when she should be sleeping. Taking the stairs she quickly flew down them, keeping an eye out for any movement. Some servant's would be doing wash right now, and a few of them smoked. Quickly getting the laundry room she slipped in, looking around she spotted a small brown and pink bag. It must have belonged to one of the girls since it wasn't hers. Looking around she made her way to the bag. Opening it up, she shoved some of the items around looking for the small little box she wanted. Nothing, the owner of this bag didn't smoke. Or if they did they had the smokes on them. Sighing in defeat she was about to turn on heal to leave until a small shining object caught her eye. A little further down on the table was a small hand bag, black and shining in the dim light of the room. Making her way to the bag she opened it, in it was exactly what she wanted. Pulling the small box out she opened it, in there were smokes, grabbing five she shut the box and pushed it back inside. Before she closed the hand bag a lighter rolled from the pocket. Taking it she closed the bag, luck was on her side tonight. After she placed the bag down faint voices could be heard. Quickly leaving before she got caught, she made her way deep down the basement halls. Getting away out of sight of whoever was going to the laundry room.

She couldn't smoke in the house, it was too risky. Due to her father's amazing sense of smell she would quickly get caught. Outside would be the best, and safest. Quickly entering the back yard she stayed close to the walls. Not wanting to trigger the automatic lights, slipping past the cameras she rushed behind a tree. Her back to it, she took a minute to listen for sounds. When all she heard was small crickets she let out her breath. Taking one of her goods she placed it in her mouth, lighting as she slid down the tree. Taking a much needed drag from the stick that she craved so badly.

'Damn I am addicted.'
