"What?" Asked Jack as he flew back quickly before a fireball hit the ground where he was standing. "How can we be up there?" "I can get rid of the darkness surrounding them for a second," Offered Eugene. "You just love risking your life don't you," Said Onceler, shaking his head. "When did you figure that out, when I turned Koz back to normal?" Asked Eugene, smiling. His aura was released in one blue-green wave. The darkness surrounding the Dark Seasons disappeared for a couple of seconds. Pitch turned into Nightmare Sand to avoid being seen and Tenignis turned himself and Hans to darkness. After all, they still would have the element of surprise if three of them were unknown to the Seasons. A beam of ice came towards the Dark group. The ice stopped once it reached the group and shattered. "It's Jack, of course he can shatter ice," Muttered Elsa. "Well there's no use in hiding in the darkness now," Said Hiccup's voice from the darkness. Well, it was almost Hiccup's voice. It was filled with malice and hate and there was a growling undertone to his words.
Purple plasma blasts came from the darkness as the Alternates attacked. The Seasons were staring at their alternate reality selves, wondering what happened in the universe they lived in to make them look so different. "'Punzel, duck!" Said Onceler, who saw Rapunzel curiously staring at her alternate reality self. A plasma blast was heading toward her. A vine snaked around Rapunzel and dragged her to Onceler. An arrow zoomed toward the pair and hit Onceler. He pulled it out, wincing in pain as he did so. Rapunzel noticed there was still Nightmare Sand infused in the ichor."Onceler, I thought we got the Nightmare Sand out of your system!" Yelled Rapunzel to her friend as she wrapped vines around the alternate Jack. Water was sucked from the vines as Alternate Jack made a whip of water and it hit the ground where Onceler was standing. He barely dodged it; The whip did hit him though, making golden ichor come out of a long slash on his leg. The ichor had specks of Nightmare Sand in it as Alternate Jack looked at it curiously. This is interesting indeed. "We can't fight fire with fire, this isn't working!" Yelled Rapunzel as she threw vines at Alternate Rapunzel, only for the other to catch the vines then wrap them around Rapunzel. Eugene tapped in Morse code on the floor.
"Switch!" He was then glad that he had taught basic Morse to the rest of the group. Alternate Merida was struck by icy beams from Jack as Alternate Jack was attacked by Merida, who was now a being made of fire. Hiccup threw daggers made of wind at Alternate Rapunzel as she surrounded him with poisonous plants. The West Guardians helped wherever they could, sabotaging the attacks of the Alternates and fending off spectres. Alternate Hiccup was looking at everyone, trying to figure out a good battle plan, when he spotted the West Guardians and smiled.
Mavis was fighting a spectre when a dagger made of wind zoomed toward her. Hiccup spotted it and it stopped before it hit the vampire. There were more heading toward the other Guardians West. Hiccup stopped them before they hit his friends, who were busy fighting the spectres. Unfortunately, that meant his concentration was focused on the daggers instead of his foe. The daggers Hiccup were preventing from harming his friends were resisting his control, which meant that he couldn't use them against the Alternates. "Guys, look out!" Yelled Hiccup. The daggers were released from the air and Mavis turned into a bat, flying away, as the dagger flew around, following her like a tracking missile. She flew past a spectre, which the dagger hit instead. Onceler ducked and jumped, balancing on top of the dagger. He then ran to the Alternates, the dagger chasing him. Alternate Hiccup stopped the dagger before it hit Alternate Jack, but vines grew from the ground. A sickly sweet smell came from the vines. "Hold your breath!" Yelled Onceler as the Seasons and Guardians complied. Onceler grabbed the arms of Mavis and Jack and pulled them into one of his teleportation trees. Hiccup whistled and he jumped up as Toothless came, hanging before landing on his back. Once everyone had left, the Alternates retreated, coughing, wheezing, and sneezing as they appeared at Scottish Stonehenge. "Wha' was tha'?" Asked Alternate Merida. "Most likely one of the Green man's homemade poisons," Drawled Pitch, who appeared from the shadows. "Why didn't you tell us there were more of them?" Asked Alternate Jack, water swirling around him. "I figured you would know about them already, since you are from a parallel dimension," Said Pitch. "That might be, but we most likely haven't met them yet, demigod of nightmares," Said Alternate Rapunzel. "That did not occur to us, I fear. I assumed that our time was parallel to your dimension's," Said Tenignis, appearing behind Alternate Merida in a flash of dark red fire. She jumped, making Alternate Jack laugh. "Is there anything you found out while you were back at my old home?" Asked Pitch. "Yes, actually. They know Morse code-" "We could trick them using that somehow, it's not easy to distinguish door knocks." "The green man had your Nightmare sand in his blood, I saw it when I hit him with a water whip," Said Alternate Jack. "Interesting. Jack, try to lure the Green man here, if you can," Said Pitch, a smile coming to his face- He knew Jack would take that as a challenge. "Are you saying that it's not in my abilities to talk smoothly? I assure you it is, Pitch. I'll see you when I get back," Said Jack, teleporting away in a swirl of water, most likely to the nearest ocean. "What do we do in the meantime?" Asked Alternate Merida. "How about a game?" Asked Alternate Rapunzel.
After the battle, they appeared at a large forest. "Is this your base?" Asked Rapunzel, looking around, her eyes wide. "Yeah. Do you like it?" Asked Onceler. "I take care of the trees around here." "It looks amazing." "Thanks. These guys do nothing," Said Onceler, a smile on his face as he pointed at the others with his thumb. "Hey!" Protested Elsa, Eugene, and Mavis. Onceler looked up and saw a giant blue-green floating anvil inches above him. "I take it back!" Eugene smirked- That always worked. "Beanpole, why don't you show them around?" Asked Mavis. Onceler looked at her, his eyes glowing green, vines crawling towards the vampire. Mavis was flipped upside down and was held there by vines. "Don't call me Beanpole! He called me Beanpole and he's dead!" Shouted Onceler, his vines whipping around, hitting the group. "Why don't you go to the hot springs to relax? You can show Jack around," Said Elsa, trying to calm down her friend. The glow slowly left Onceler's eyes as he calmed down. "OK. Sorry, Maeve," Mumbled Onceler. "C'mon Jack." They walked to the hot springs, which turned out to be a waterfall with a large lake connected to the ocean. "This place is beautiful, but too hot," Complained Jack, covering the area around him in ice. "There's a cooler spot over there, you can freeze it without it melting quickly," Said Onceler, pointing to an area at the edge of the forest. Jack sensed that he wanted to be alone and left.
Onceler sat at the edge of the hot spring, his feet in the water, when heard a surprised yell from Jack's direction and ran to his friend. "Jack!" "I'm OK," Said Jack, a smile on his face. "What happened?" Asked Onceler. "There were a couple of nightmares that surprised me, but I killed them," Said Jack, swirling his staff in his hand. Something was off about him, but Onceler couldn't place what. "There were more that went that way," Said Jack, pointing to southwest with his staff. "I think we can handle them." Onceler smiled. It would be easy to take down a couple of Nightmares and it might lift his spirits about hurting his friend. The friends went into the forest when Onceler heard Nightmare whinnies from all sides. They were surrounded, and there were a lot of Nightmares. "This will be harder than I thought," Said Onceler. A beam of ice almost hit Onceler had he not dodged. "What in the name of the Spirit World was that, Jack?" Asked Onceler, wondering why his friend would attack him like that. Jack didn't respond, only throwing beams of ice the other's way. The Nightmares started attacking, which made Onceler groan in annoyance. Jack and Nightmares to fight? Joy. Onceler's giant scythe appeared in his hands and he swung in a wide arc, killing a group of Nightmares. "This is too easy," Complained Jack, then got an idea. "Guys, help! Nightmares are attacking!" He yelled, a smile on his face. In a flash of blue-green, Eugene appeared next to Jack. "You called for help? Whoa!" Said Eugene, ducking as a tiger made of ice jumped at him. He managed to crush the tiger with some anvils and worked on killing Nightmares, throwing anvils, missiles, and basketballs made of his aura at them. Soon Eugene was almost out of aura, his life force flickering. He grabbed Onceler's arm and absorbed some of his aura, replenishing his own. "Sorry about that," Said Eugene, throwing an aura basketball at the Winter spirit. He tried to read his friend's aura to see what was wrong, but was thrown back by the reception he got from Jack's aura. It was icy and left Eugene shivering as he released his aura in a wave in an attempt to get rid of the cold now surrounding him.
"This is better," Said Jack as he hit Onceler with ice daggers, hitting the vines connected to him as well as the man himself. Onceler hissed in pain, more from the daggers hitting the vines than the skin. More Nightmares came, forcing Eugene to focus his efforts on the creatures rather than the Winter spirit. "Jack, why are you fighting us?" Asked Onceler, sending a poisoned vine his way, which was frozen by Jack. The Winter spirit appeared behind Onceler in a swirl of ice. "Oh, I'm just distracting you," Said Jack. Onceler's eyes glowed green as he swung his scythe at Jack, the trickster flying back to avoid getting hit as vines with all manner of poisons reached out toward him. Jack smiled and ducked underneath the deadly botanical farming tool, grabbing Onceler by the arm and turning the Green Man into water as Jack also turned to water.
Merry Christmas (In case I'm not able to post a chapter for Christmas)! In case you don't celebrate Christmas, then happy holiday that you celebrate! If you could be a demigod, who would your parent be? For me, either Apollo (Hence the name. I would have gone with Artemis since people wouldn't think I'm a boy, but I'm nothing like her), though, funnily enough, I don't have a sunny personality, or Athena. My friend says that I would be a daughter of Hades or Hecate.
