San Francisco

Percy, Bianca and Nico made their way towards the old hobo now laying around on one of the piers. Percy had flash backs to his last encounter with this guy. His name was Nereus. In ancient times Heroes would seek out Nereus, for answers. When Hercules was ordered to fetch the golden apples of the Hesperides, he went to the Nymphs who inhabited the Grottos of Eridanus. They told him that to find the apples he would need to speak to Nereus. Hercules set out to find Nereus and eventually found him. However Nereus not wanting to be caught shape shifted into several creatures that Hercules had to subdue. Once he had forced Nereus back to his original form he asked Nereus where he could find the Golden apples, and how could he obtain them. Nereus told him the answer and so Hercules let him go. Like many of the ancient Gods, Nereus had moved with the Olympians when the power shifted to the west. He had decided to make San Francisco his home. The last time Percy had faced this guy, he had dragged Percy into the ocean trying to drown him. Unfortunately for Nereus Percy was a son of Poseidon in the last time-line and so he couldn't drown. Nereus eventually gave up and allowed Percy to ask his question. Percy could remember being in turmoil about what to ask. Back then Annabeth safety had been number one thing on his mind, however eventually he had asked what it was that the Titans were planning to use against Olympus. This had led Percy to find the Ophiotaurus, a sacred animal that when sacrificed was said to bring the end of Olympus. In the First Titan war, Kronos had succeeded in sacrificing the Ophiotarus, however Zeus sent down an eagle who gathered up the guts of the Ophiotarus before they could be burnt to complete the offering. Now after 3,000 years it had been born again, and Kronos wanted to use it to bring Olympus to it's knees.

"Percy, why are we walking towards that homeless dude?" Percy turned to face Bianca and smiled. He wondered exactly how much Bianca and Nico knew about the Greek myths and so decided to give them a little quiz.

"Bianca have you ever heard of the being known as Nereus?" Bianca looked at Percy blankly and shook her head. She noticed he turned to Nico who also had no clue.

"Well Nereus is a sea God. In ancient times, the hero Hercules was given a quest to find the Golden apples. On his quest he met Nereus who gave him the information on where to find them. Now like all Greek Myths many of the stories are actually true, and when Olympus moved to the west so did Nereus. The home-less guy you see before you is that same God. In the last time-line I had to catch him, and obtain information, however this time, I know what I want, but to keep up appearances I have to ask him again. After all we have no clue who might be watching us now."

The hero were only a few feet away from the old home-less guy. They could already smell rotten fish and god knows what else coming off the mans clothes. Percy noticed Nereus had opened his eyes and saw the three of them walking towards him. Percy noticed Nereus stood up looking worried.

"What do you young Hooligans want. I have no money, just leave me alone." Percy smiled and wasted no time in jumping the old man. He pinned him to the pier and watched as the old man tried to struggle free.

"Young people, no respect for the elderly! This is assault you know. I could have you done for assault."

Percy pinned the old mans arms down, however suddenly he found himself holding onto something slimy, and noticed Nereus had already shape shifted into a seal. His fur was all slimy and Percy was finding it hard to hold on to him. He didn't want to take another dip in the ocean, especially now he could drown if Nereus dragged him under.

"Listen here old man, I am not a normal mortal, I'm demigod and I need answers. So you are going to tell me what I need to know, or you will not like the alternative." Percy clipped the pen and his sword flashed into his hand. He pressed the small button and allowed it to charge with his fathers essence. He then held it against the seals body.

"Now I want you to shift back into your human form, before I decided to wipe you from existence. I am sure the rumours of who I am, have even traveled to this side of the country." Percy noticed Nereus shifted back into human form and his eyes was now locked onto the blade just a few inches from his neck.

"Alright, Alright, you win, however the same rules apply, one question, that's it. So you better make sure you ask the right one."

Percy just grinned and put the sword closer to Nereus neck. "I hate to tell you this, but you are in no position to demand anything. "What is the secret weapon that the Titans plan to use against Olympus?"

Nereus just laughed. "That's it? That is all you want to know. If you look down at the end of this pier you will find your answer, of course that is only one of the possible weapons the Titans want to use against Olympus. The other its rather simple. All you need to do is look in the mirror, now release me!"

Percy was stunned by the second answer, and let his grip loosen giving Nereus the chance to escape. In the last time-line it had only been the Ophiotarus, however this time there were two weapons. Percy had already worked out the last part of the answer. It was him. The Titans wanted to use him to destroy Olympus. Well Percy was going to make sure that didn't happen.

Percy shook his head. He needed to focus. Percy looked up and could see a group moving towards them. He growled at who was leading them. Thinking fast he ran towards the end of the pier and looked down. There swimming was the Ophiotarus. Percy knew he needed to get the sea creature away. Thinking quickly he opened a portal and grabbed hold of the Ophiotaurus. He then lopped it through. He watched the portal close and then turned and stood up. Just as Luke had made it towards the pier. Percy pulled Bianca and Nico behind him.

"Well, well if it isn't Kronos little bitch!" Percy smirked as Luke face turned an angry red. It looked like Luke would fail his quest, and with the oath he made with Kronos, he would die tonight.

"Hand over the Ophiotauras Jackson. You're out numbered. Maybe I will make your death quick if you co-operate."

Percy looked at Luke and then threw his head back and laughed. He knew Luke was dumb, but he had no clue he was this dumb. True they may have been out numbered, but Percy made up for at least twice as many now facing them.

"Obviously you didn't learn your little lesson in Washington Luke. I am no ordinary demigod, I am the Son of Chaos, and the Titans and Olympians executioner. Now if I remember correctly when we last met I promised you a slow painful death, so if you think you can take me. Give it your best shot." Percy noticed Bianca and Nico had their weapons ready to back him up.

Luke growled. "Attack!" Several Gorgons drew their bow and began to firing, Percy waved his hand over the earth and caused it to shake. A huge mount of earth suddenly rose up and blocked the arrows. This gave Bianca the cover she needed to launch several of her own, which hit each of the gorgons turning them into gold dust. Percy charged towards Luke, both boys clashed blades, and all that could be heard was steel on steel. Percy wondered what the mortals would be seeing right now.

Luke growled in frustration. He still hadn't forgotten about his embarrassment in the arena at Camp-halfblood, and he intended to make Percy pay for it. Luke pushed forward trying to gain as much ground as he could, however it felt like it was trying to move a bus. Percy's stance was perfect and there was no way he was going anywhere. Luke suddenly felt a sharp pain to cheek, Percy had just delivered an elbow right into his face, causing him to stagger a little.

Percy narrowed his eyes, Luke would pay, Percy kept up the pressure and quickly checked on Nico and Bianca. Both of them seem to have things in hand, as all around them were piles of gold dust. Percy turned back to Luke, using his weight he pushed forward. Percy then noticed his opening. Luke lost his balance, and Percy used his leg to trip the son of Hermes causing him to fall flat on his back. Percy then growled as he swung his sword down, unfortunately Luke had raised his sword at the same time to block his attack.

Luke looked into the gold eyes of Percy, only thing keeping him alive was his sword now locked with the Son of Chaos. Luke knew he had to escape, all of his troops had been defeated. using his free hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out two small shaped balls. He then slammed them down and a thick smoke suddenly appeared.

Percy noticed Luke had placed his hand in his pocket, he was wondering just what the son of Hermes was up to. Unfortunately he was too late and already the smoke was surrounding him. Percy stood coughing, a smoke bomb. Time Percy had got his bearing Luke had already gone. Percy growled and shouted.

"Luke you coward, Just wait till I find you. I am going to make sure you die slowly!" Percy noticed that Bianca and Nico was looking at him, oddly. Percy had one last look around, Luke had vanished. He placed his sword back in his pocket.

"Come on you two. We have finished here. We better get back to the others."

meanwhile foot of Mount Tamalpais

Zoe and her group had finally reached the foot of the Titan stronghold. She looked behind her and noticed the others were close by. Zoe knew they would soon be approaching the garden of Hesperides, and she would soon be facing her sisters. Zoe looked at her watch it was mid afternoon, they would have to wait till sunset before they could carry on, as her sisters were the Nymphs of the sunset. Zoe suddenly heard noise and growling. quickly she dived into the undergrowth and ordered the others to do the same. Zoe heard some approaching fast, she was surprised to see it was a boy with Blonde hair and blue eyes. Clearly he had been in some sort of fight, and was now running towards the fortress. Zoe heard Annabeth mumble the name Luke. Obviously the daughter of Athena knew this boy. Zoe waited till the coast was clear before ordering everyone out.

"Annabeth you know that boy?" Zoe noticed Annabeth lowered her head, she then looked up.

"Yes, That is Luke. An old friend of mine and Thalia's. However he has betrayed us and joined Kronos. He was the one who stole Zeus master bolt and tried to frame Mark for the crime."

Zoe growled. "So he is the one holding Artemis and Thalia hostage? The one that Percy said he would kill the next time he saw him." Zoe didn't need to hear the answer, it was, her expression told her all she needed to know. Just then Zoe heard more noise. Quickly she dived back into the undergrowth along with Annabeth and the rest. However when she saw who it was, she sighed in relief.

"Percy!" Percy turned to see the others coming out of the undergrowth. He nodded to each one of them.

"Okay, Nico, Bianca and I have taken care of the secret weapon. it turned out the weapon was actually a sacred animal that Kronos wanted to sacrifice. It was a Ophiotaurus. Don't worry though, I opened a portal and sent it through to the Atlantic ocean. Time the Titans discover it then it will be too late. Now what did you find out?"

Zoe brushed some dirt of her dress. "Well it looks like we are going to have to wait till sunset, that is when the garden of Hesperides will appear. We have to gain access to it, so that we can move forward towards the fortress."

Percy shook his head. screw that, last time they tried that, Zoe ended up being poisoned. Then again, they could cause some more aggro on Olympus. It was said whoever ate one of the golden apples then they would become immortal. Percy wondered how dear Hera would react to him eating one of her golden apples. However his mind then went to Thalia. They were so close. he decided to forget the idea of angering Hera. besides there would be other opportunities.

"Screw that, Gather around and I will open up a portal to the fortress. I can't be bothered to wait till sunset. besides I am certain that you don't want to see your sisters."

Zoe nodded her head. Percy was right, she didn't want to see her sister. However she knew that Percy was avoiding the garden for another reason, and that was so she wouldn't be poisoned and die, like she did in the last time-line. Zoe watched as Percy used his portal trick and they all quickly climbed through. Percy again had been spot on with his destination. They now stood a few feet away from the Fortress. Zoe noticed Percy was the last one through the portal which closed up behind him.

"Okay here is what I have planned."
