Chapter 7: Screw Annabeth Chase
Nico couldn't believe he was kissing Percy. It scared him that the other boy was so willing to kiss him that it felt almost unreal. but all that lead to this moment was a few drinks, grinding and a very drunk Sea Prince. He was here because one of the seniors at his school dragged Atticus, Marcus and him to this party wanting to lay the blame if it ever got out. It was odd to randomly pick on Nico like this but he was elated to find that Percy was there.
"Neeks," Percy whined pulling Nico closer, "pay attention only to me."
"I...am," Nico said as he begun to rain kisses all over Percy, "but this isn't right Perce."
"Why?" He whined at him.
"Because...Annabeth..." Nico said between kisses.
"There is no Annabeth," Percy said in a sad tone.
few hours ago...
"Nico, right?" A guy asked standing in front of the Italian.
"Yeah why?" Nico asked looking up from his food.
"Well since you and your friends are new I thought it would be no big deal if you guys got into a little trouble," the guy answered.
"What kind of trouble?" Atticus asked.
"Just a party a few hours away that is being held tonight for a childhood friend," the guy answered, "most of my friends are too goody-two-shoes to go to the party with me and well I need someone to blame if it ever gets out."
"Still its kind of random to be asking us," Marcus grumbled a bit worried.
"But isn't random the best kind of fun?" The guy asked.
"I don't know you from Adam and you want us to stick our necks out for you?" Nico glared at the senior.
"Come on it's Friday and you got nothing better to do and plus your most likely not going to get caught anyways," the older guy pressed wanting them to agree.
"I am up for it," Atticus said going back to his food.
"Me too," Marcus shrugged leaving Nico no choice but to say yes.
"Great see you at school again at around six," the senior said waving goodbye to them.
"That was weird..." Nico said nibbling at his food.
"Well it is always a means for an adventure!" Marcus smiled at him before getting up to put his tray away.
"See you," was all they said before heading their separate ways.
Percy wasn't going to attend Jessica's party. He didn't like going if there wasn't anyone there to go with really. He did have his high school friends but still they could never understand him like his demi-god friends could.
His phone rang. He picked it up. After saying hello a few times a voice gradually appeared through the phone, it was Annabeth. "Hey Annabeth," Percy greeted.
"It's over Percy," Annabeth said a bit monotoned.
"What is over?" Percy asked, confused.
"This...I mean us," Annabeth said.
"Why?" Percy got up from his seat his voice filled with seething anger and hurt.
"I...like someone else," Annabeth answered, "I didn't realize it until now and I wish I could make these feelings for them go away but I can't."
"Well what am I supposed to do, huh? Tell you its okay? Say that I understand? Tell you that it isn't your fault? Tell...tell you that you didn't just break my heart?" Percy cried into the phone. There was silence on the other side.
"I am sorry Percy, I really am," was all she said before she hung up. It wasn't like Annabeth to act like that at all which made Percy question whether it was AnnaBeth at all. So, in the end, he iris messaged her just to be slapped in the face by the sight of Annabeth kissing...Reyna.
"As you can see, Jackson she has moved on," Reyna told Percy her face void of emotion.
"G-girls kiss all the time! That d-doesn't mean..." Percy tried to reason with them but the look on Annabeth's face said it all. She looked guilty, sad, but there was no regret and that sealed the deal convincing Percy that he was dumped. "Thanks, I always assumed that as a daughter of Athena you would approach this a bit more carefully or is your mind so filled with Reyna that you didn't really bother to give me any second thoughts?"
"Perc-" Annabeth tried but Percy just disconnected the iris message and stormed off.
In a swift decision Percy decided to attend Jessica's party. He wanted to drown in something other then sorrow. Surprisingly enough he found a nervous Nico walking in making it all the more fun. He was already a bit tipsy and was glad that it wasn't only the alcohol that will keep him busy.
"Hey Neeks," Percy slurred a bit walking up to the son of Hades. For the first time Percy actually sized up the boy in front of him noticing how much bigger he was then the last time he saw him.
"Percy!" Nico said blushing a bit only to compose himself a second later, "what are you doing here?"
"I go to the same school as Jessica, the host, and well I guess I wanted to just enjoy a good party for once," He answered loudly trying hard to talk over the music.
"Glad you're here," Nico smiled taking the cup from Percy's hand and drowning the rest of the beer in the cup. Percy pouted a bit before pulling Nico to get some more.
"Tonight is going to be adventurous," Percy smirked pulling Nico to the dance floor for some.
"Who was that?" Atticus turned to Marcus as he watched Nico be dragged away by another guy.
"Don't know I met him once...I think his name was Percy," Marcus answered with a shrug looking for somewhere to sit.
"Well, I don't like him," Atticus growled glaring at the direction where they disappeared.
"Why? You don't know the guy," Marcus pondered before grabbing to red cups and finding himself a seat near the window that showed the pool.
"It's just the way he looked at Nico," Atticus said.
"Someone's jealous," Marcus winked handing Atticus the second cup. He took it grudgingly.
"Not...not what I meant," Atticus grumbled but Marcus couldn't hear him from the loud music. For it was a fact that Atticus seemed attracted to the Italian and seeing him being so enticed with someone else bothered him, a lot.
