I Do Not Own Fairy Tail.
Rogue was feeling uneasy during the train ride. Well, that was normal considering he has motion sickness. But no, he wasn't just feeling uneasy because of the ride. On the way to the place where the client was, made him feel like something bad is going to happen. The mere thought of Saphira ACCEPTING the job was just something that didn't make him feel at ease.
He spoke to Sting about this, but he didn't seem to feel the way. The White Dragon Slayer laughed it off, claiming he had become soft around the eleven year old, that he was becoming like a worried parent. The Shadow Dragon Slayer merely ignored him and just left to prepare his things for the depart.
The vehicle's movements was making the Shadow Dragon Slayer even more sick, he decided to distract himself by looking outside which was now dark. Frosch was next to him sleeping. Saphira was... Wait.
Rogue looked at the Sand Dragon Slayer in front of him. The eleven year old was drumming her fingers on the seat while she stared at the floor. Not to mention her head was swaying, was she sleeping?
"S-Saphira...?" His voice sounded hoarse.
She looked up with a bothered look. She seemed wide awake. Her fingers sped up with the drumming.
"What...?" She let out a sigh.
"Is... something wrong?"
"... I just... Have a headache, that's all..."
Perhaps it was because she was a Dragon Slayer...? "Why don't you sleep it off?" He suggested.
Saphira looked at his red eye with her cobalt ones. She nodded, she slowly swung her legs on the seat. He noticed she was being very delicate with her movements. She took off her sand colored sleeveless vest and folded it. Leaving her in her striped shirt. She placed the folded fabric at the of the seat near the window and finally rested her head upon it. She shut her eyes and let herself fall asleep.
A little child chased a little squirrel happily around a few trees. They giggled every time the squirrel would stop to try and escape her. Soon enough the little kid ended up in front of a big tree, which was hiding the little animal from her view.
"Saph, stop running around. You'll hurt yourself." A voice warned.
The little animal made a noise as it scurried off, the child paid no attention to the warning and giggled as they tried to chase after it. Unfortunately the child tripped over their own feet and landed on the floor.
"Tsk, what did I tell you?" A massive tail swooped down and wrapped itself around the little being and helped the kid get back on their feet. The tail even brushed away the black hair covering their face. The child, who happened to be a female cried loudly and covered their eyes with their closed fists.
"Oh, Saph... Don't cry." The voice said gently.
"Mommy!" 'Saph' ran to the owner of the voice and hugged them. Well... More like its nose considering the owner of the voice was a rather big dragon with sand colored scales.
The tail patted the Saph's head as she cried. "No more crying. Just be grateful you weren't hurt too bad. Listen to me next time alright?"
"O-Okay..."
"... Saph..."
The little girl pouted and rolled on the floor, she was being quite lazy. The female dragon sighed, it poked a finger towards the little child's body hoping it would annoy her to get up. "Get up Saph, we need to train."
"But mommy...!"
"No buts! Get up and stop being lazy!"
"Whose fault is it that I AM lazy?"
"..."
"Hmm... Sleepy..." She closed her eyes and fell asleep like a light.
The dragon huffed, with a flick of its long tail. A wave of sand threw itself at the little girl startling her awake. Saph jumped up to her feet and ran to her dragon.
"I'm up mommy! No more sand please...!"
"Hmph." The dragon smirked at Saph.
"Mommy, why were you a little... Eh, grumpy yesterday...?"
"Ah, friends of mine were annoying me." The female Sand Dragon rolled its eyes in annoyance.
"...Friends?"
"Yes, but don't worry about it. Let's get started on training, ready Saphira?"
"Yes!" Saphira giggled and fist pumped while running around.
Forgotten days...
Morning came once again, the little child who was sleeping in the giant cool cave began waking up as sunshine snuck in the dark cave. She held her sand colored blanket and softly pulled it off her body.
Weird, mommy isn't waking me up. I wonder why?
Saphira grabbed her blanket and wrapped it around her body.
"Mommy?" She slipped on her brown shoes and began walking towards the exit.
"Mommy, where are you?"
She was greeted by the sun's morning light... But no dragon.
Confused, she started walking around the area where she lived with her dragon mother.
But still, no sign of the Sand Dragon.
Worried.
"Mommy...?"
Fear.
"Mommy...?!"
Panic.
"Mommy?!"
Sadness.
"SYNCLITUS?!"
They are fading...
"Why... Why did you leave?!" Saphira cried hysterically on her knees while hugging her blanket around her body as some kind of comfort.
"What am I supposed to do now?!" She gasped for air as tears kept flowing down her cheeks.
A forgotten memory, no longer important...
"There's gotta be something...!" Saphira searched through the the giant cave, through all the books about magic and history.
"Where can I find Synclitus?!" Saphira bit her lip while flipping through many pages. There had to be some history or story about a sand dragon! Maybe then, she could find her mommy... However, as she continued searching through all these pages. She found nothing that could help her. The Sand Dragon Slayer became discouraged and lost, and she aimlessly threw the book she was currently holding at the bookshelf in front of her. Causing it to drop a certain book on the small girl's body.
"Ah!"
Saphira's eyes snapped open. A green little Exceed, who happen to be in front of her face, fell backwards and nearly fell off the seat. But thanks to a certain male he was able to stay safe from the ground. It was already morning, they had reached their destination. Rogue was able to sleep even though his motion sickness bothered him. He reached for her bag and handed it to her as she sat up. The three Sabertooth members exited the train and began heading to the exit of the train station 'Liger'.
"So, right now we're in Liger station... If we want to get to the town of Camellia... We need to go... Northeast from here... Doesn't seem to far." She mumbled to herself, Rogue was able to hear it. He was taken back, how did she know...? Without looking at any maps?
"Do you know Camellia?" Rogue asked.
Saphira looked at him curiously, "No, why?"
"Because, you seem to know where it is when I didn't even see you ask for directions."
"Oh?" Saphira raised an eyebrow, "Well... I just knew where it was. Oh! Oh! Maybe it's instinct! Maybe that town is part of my past that I don't remember and I just happen to know where it is!" Saphira exclaimed happily while bouncing excitedly.
"Maybe. That does make sense."
"Fro thinks so too!"
"Well come on! Let's go!" Saphira immediately ran off.
"Saphira!" Rogue yelled, he and Frosch ran after the excited eleven year old as she kept dashing.
Somewhere Else...
A tall man with pale white skin and white hair stood atop of a tree with black cloak around his body. His eyes were closed as he focused on something, after a few moments of silence he opened his magenta colored eyes.
"Lumina... Yes, we've finally found you." He whispered.
He glanced behind his shoulder and shot some fire in the air, letting it fly like fireworks in the sky. A signal sent to his comrades who were far away. In record time, two more people dressed in black cloaks appeared next to him. They all looked at each other and nodded. They jumped off of the tree and spread out.
"Whoaaa! This mansion is huuuge!" Saphira exclaimed while looking up at the big house, Frosch was in her arms and was equally amazed. Rogue merely looked around the house to see if there was any danger. He was starting to get paranoid about this job that he couldn't help but be alert. He felt Saphira tug his hand, he looked down to see her smiling face.
"Come on! Let's go knock!" She giggled.
With a nod, they approached the doors. Rogue was the one who knocked since Saphira was so busy observing the pretty designs on the door. Soon she was startled when the door swung open in front of her, she let out a yelp and hid behind Rogue with Frosch. A lady with golden hair and waay too much make up started crying hysterically as she revealed herself.
"Wahh! A-Are you the wizards here to help us?! PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE! WAAHHH!"
Rogue and Saphira stared at the woman with a dumbfounded look. Nod.
"OH! OH! PRAISE THE LOOOORD!" She manage to smile through her tears and make up. She spun around, "DIO! BRING THEM INSIDE!" She shouted happily and ran inside the mansion. "JEAN, HONEY THEY'RE FINALLY HERE! AHHHHHH!"
Did she just squeal?
Saphira and Rogue looked at each other.
A man with red hair and sapphire eyes dressed in a butler suit sighed as he appeared at the door. "Please excuse Lady Hilla, she's just finally relieved wizards are here to help. Please, come in and follow me."
The butler known as Dio, moved away from the door and the trio entered while staying close to each other. The red haired man nodded as he closed the door, he began walking away from them, which was their cue to follow. Saphira stayed close to Rogue while holding his arm which he let her do. She and Frosch were curiously looking at pictures that were present around them. As Saphira kept following Dio, she couldn't help but look at a certain photo. She let go of Rogue's arm and looked closely at the photograph.
Rogue stopped in his tracks as he saw her inspecting the photo. "Saphira?"
Dio had stopped walking after he realized no more footsteps other than his own made noise. He noticed Saphira looking at a particular photo, he approaches her and bent down a little.
"Are you wondering who's in this photo?"
He pointed at a girl in the photo. She looked no older than ten, near Saphira's age. She was wearing a beautiful red dress, which matched her ruby eyes. Her long beige hair went past her shoulders. In the photo she seemed to be holding these light gray animals but you couldn't see them since some kind of dirt had gotten on the photo. To her left and right there was two people, a girl and boy, they were bending down while making a peace sign with their hands. What appeared the most about them was their color of choice when it came to their clothing, the boy seemed to wear a color like wine and the girl wore something like cobalt blue. You couldn't see their faces since some dirt had also gotten on their faces. But you could definitely see the girl's long black hair.
"Yeah, and I'm also curious about who the people next to her are..." Saphira pointed at the two people.
"This young girl is Master Jean and Lady Hilla's daughter and the younger sister of Young Master Sine, Young Mistress Klinna."
"Klinna..." Saphira repeated lowly.
"Yes, and these people next to her. Well... I'm not sure who they are. Actually, no one in this house knows these people. Lady Hilla insisted I should throw away this photo, but Young Mistress Klinna wouldn't have it. She kept saying this photo made her happy, she didn't know why but it did. Even though she had no such memory of her with these people OR holding those animals in her arms."
Saphira gave Dio a confused look, which he only chuckled at her reaction. "She keeps a photo of people she doesn't know?"
"It would appear so."
"That's odd. Why did Klinna's mom wanted to throw away the photo?"
Dio straightened up, "Lady Hilla didn't like the photo since there was spots of dirt on it that couldn't be removed. She didn't like the idea of dirt being on the same photo as her beautiful daughter. But she changed her mind once she saw how happy it made Young Mistress Klinna."
"... Maybe it's because she looked happy in this photo that... she wanted to find out what made her happy...?" Saphira guessed.
"Fro thinks so too!"
Dio chuckled, "Yes, she did."
Saphira smiled at Dio while pointing at Klinna in the photo. "So where is Klinna?"
At that moment, a frown appeared on Dio's lips. "... That's the problem we're facing right now."
"Something happened to her?" Rogue asked as he crossed his arms.
...
...
...
After taking a seat and hearing the story from Klinna's parents. Saphira face palmed. She resisted the urge of calling the daughter an idiot. She dramatically 'fell' on Rogue while she was at it.
Apparently, Klinna wanted to remember the people in the picture and what happened that day. However the only thing she remembered was a flying creature. She figured it was one of the animals she was holding in the photo. One day, Klinna decided that if she wanted to remember something she would probably need some sort of creature or animal that could fly. So she set off on her own and climbed the tallest mountain in Camellia. When she came home, her parents were shocked to found out she had picked up a random red colored wyvern from that mountain and brought it all the way down. They tried to take it away from her but she wouldn't let them. She spent days playing with the little wyvern, which got accustomed to her company. Then a week after she took the little creature in, she went outside near the mountain to get some sticks. Hilla and Jean heard their daughter screaming from afar from the mansion, the moment they went outside to see. They saw a big red wyvern picking up their daughter and flying up to the top of the mountain.
Saphira wasn't impressed, of course the wyvern's mother would take her! It was upset Klinna took her baby!
"So you want us to bring back Klinna?" Saphira asked to clarify. Hilla threw her chair back and hugged her from across the table. She started rubbing her cheek against the eleven year old's. "Please! Please!"
Jean sighed and pulled his wife off of Saphira. "I'm sorry. It's been a week since she's been taken. My wife if starting to lose her marbles haha..."
'I could tell...' Saphira sweat dropped.
"Alright, but we're going to need that baby wyvern." Rogue crossed his arms.
-XD-
Sine, the older son of Jean and Hilla dropped the sleeping red wyvern on the table. Causing it to jolt awake at the sudden impact.
Dio shook his head, "Young Master, please don't drop the poor little creature."
"Hey! You didn't see it bite my hand last night!"
Saphira stared at the new addition in the room. He was a rather tall young man with beige hair and violet eyes. He was wearing a suit that suited a noble. If she had to admit something, he was rather attractive! He was currently having a disgreement with the family butler about how he should treat the wyvern. Dio probably won since Sine ended up petting the little guy's head. Saphira stood up and leaned on the table to touch the little wyvern. It reacted to the foreing touch and began sniffing it, a delighted sound came out of it and affectionately rubbed its head on the hand. Saphira giggled and picked it up in her hands then began cooing at it.
Sine's eyebrow quirked at the sight. "Huh, that wyvern liked you way faster than Klinna. Must be because of that nasty perfume she always wears. What's your names?"
"Rogue."
"I'm Frosch~!"
Saphira smiled at him, "The name is Saphira Kacelet!"
Sine's mind flashed white as a picture of a girl smiling at him appeared. But it wasn't clear. He frowned for a moment.
"Anyway, we'll go give back the baby wyvern to its mother and come back with your daughter!" Saphira smiled, Rogue nodded and stood up from his chair. He and Frosch began making their way out of the mansion with Saphira following closely behind.
-XD-
After walking across the town of Camellia they made it to the tallest mountain. They all looked up at the big mountain... Man was it bigggg, it was going to take a long time to climb... Unless...
...
...
...
"Frosch, go give the baby wyvern to its mommy!" Saphira ordered with an apathetic face.
Rogue flinched, he immediately grabbed Frosch and hid him away from her. "Are you crazy?! That mother wyvern is going to eat him alive!"
Saphira smirked, "Frosch is a big boy!"
"Fro thinks so too!"
"NO!"
"Come on, man!"
"I'm not going to risk Frosch getting eaten by a wyvern!"
Saphira scowled, she stuck her tongue out at him. However, she hardly noticed the little red wyvern pick her up and fly her up in the air. She looked down and noticed how she was slowly rising up in the air. After realizing what was happening she praised the wyvern happily. Frosch decided to follow them much to Rogue's dismay. After reaching the top, there was a giant cave, the little wyvern set her down on her feet.
"Thanks little guy!" She affectionately patted its head. But then suddenly the small wyvern quickly flew deeper into the cave. Sapphira looked at Frosch, who was now resting on her shoulder. She quickly jogged into the cave hoping to find the little creature and much to the duo's surprise. They found a big wyvern cuddling with a small one.
"Noo! Wyviee...!" A voice whined. That must belong to Klinna! Saphira found the girl sitting frightfully in a corner while pleading for the little wyvern not to go back to its mother. The eleven year old rolled her eyes in annoyance, she had no right to kidnap the little creature in the first place!
"Frosch, go bring her down to Rogue. I'll jump down." She said while motioning towards Klinna with her head.
"Okay." Frosch took out his wings and flew towards Klinna. Then grabbed her dress from behind and started lifting her up from the ground. Much to her annoyance, she began squirming angrily as Frosch tried desperately not to drop the noble. Saphira merely watched as Frosch left the cave and descended down to Rogue, who was waiting patiently on the ground. The Sand Dragon Slayer looked at the wyvern family with a smile, with a nod she began walking towards the exit of the cave.
"LET GO OF ME YOU WEIRD THINGGYYY!"
Rogue rose an eyebrow once he heard her. He saw Frosch trying to lower the young girl as safely as he could, but that noble kept trashing around.
"LET GO YOU STUPID THING!"
With that, Frosch dropped the girl on the floor and started crying. Rogue glared at the girl on the floor, how dare she make Frosch cry! He quickly reached for the little Exceed and began comforting the little green feline.
"HEY! WHY DID YOU DROP ME?!"
"SHUT UP!" Rogue barked.
Klinna backed away.
"Oh... I didn't know the little wyvern was so important to that bigger one..." Klinna muttered with a finger on her bottom lip. Saphira slapped her hand on her forehead, man were all nobles like this?!
"Klinna listen... Do you love your mother?"
"Sometimes."
Saphira shut her eyes while massaging her temples. She shot Rogue a look after hearing him chuckle, he simply began looking at the sky as if he didn't do anything.
"Okay! Let's say when you do love her, she's sad. How would you feel?"
"...Bad?"
"Riight. Just imagine how sad your mother must feel when you were taken away."
Saphira silently watched Klinna for about a minute before she went 'ooooohhhh'. Which made the young eleven year old roll her eyes. She just wanted to stop talking to this naive little noble.
"Okay, whatever. In other words, that wyvern felt that way when you took her baby."
Hearing quick movements coming straight at them, Rogue grabbed the two girls and moved them out of the way. Just in time to dodge a fireball. Confused, Klinna and Saphira began to quickly whip their head in every direction, Frosch was also wondering who attacked them.
Rogue looked up and narrowed his eyes, standing on some trees were three men dressed in black cloaks. One had pale white skin, white hair and magenta colored eyes. The other two had their faces covered so Rogue couldn't identify them. Here it was, the cause of the uneasy feeling. He stepped in front of the two girls and carefully watched the people in front of him.
"Who are you people?" Saphira barked.
"Who sent you? Are you in a guild?" Rogue demanded.
The one with white hair jumped down from the tree and landed in front of them.
Saphira couldn't help but notice he was staring at her intensely, what did he want? His two companions jumped down from the other trees and stood next to him, for some odd reason. She couldn't help but feel like that man was familiar to her, but she knew she didn't know him... at least with her current memory. Did she know him? As she kept questioning herself in her mind, she barely noticed him give her a tiny smile.
"Sleep, go to sleep, Lumina."
Feeling alert, she readied herself... at least she tried. Her movements were lagged, she tried lifting her arm, she succeeded in doing so but the moment it reached halfway up her arm fell back to her side. Slowly, she felt her body shut down. Her sight also began to darkened she tried squinting but it didn't help. Soon enough she couldn't see anything but the darkness.
She couldn't do anything. Her body had shut down.
Rogue glanced back at Saphira, and noticed how her eyes slowly turned lifeless. His visible eye widened, he quickly grabbed Klinna by the arm and told her to go home. Klinna fearfully obeyed and ran home in the speed of light, Rogue heard one of them move towards Saphira while his back was turned. No way he was letting anyone touch her!
He spun around and made his body turn into a shadow, while grabbing Saphira out of the way. He noticed how her eyes began to slowly close, he made sure she wasn't dead by feeling a sign of pulse. He gently set her down, turned into a shadow and rushed towards the one that tried to approach Saphira. He gave him a powerful kick to the face, surely that knocked him out. Rogue's physical body returned to normal and he reacted just in time block a punch from the white haired male. The pale man merely gave him an apathetic look, he glanced from the corner of his eye at his only conscious partner.
He nodded towards Saphira, to which the cloaked person responded by taking Saphira, "Hurry up, Cline." he said before fleeing.
Cline? That's his name? Rogue watched as they took away his unconscious friend, she turned his attention back at the male in front of him.
Frosch watched from the side as Rogue told him to stay put. The Shadow Dragon Slayer had a feeling that if he told the green Exceed to go and follow, the guy in front of him would just fire at Frosch as he flew. He was definitely not going to risk that, not after what Cline did to Saphira after merely standing a few feet away from her.
"You won't be able to take her away, because once I'm done with you I'll just track down her scent."
Rogue's opponent merely replied by kicking him back with a foot covered with fire. This is nothing compared to Natsu's fire during the Grand Magic Games...
"Hmph, Rogue Cheney... I didn't expect to meet you again this early."
Huh? "What are you talking about? I've never met you before."
"My apologies, it was merely a slip of the tongue. Forget what I said."
"I'm afraid I can't, anything you might say may be a sign of danger towards Saphira. And why did you say 'Lumina'?" Rogue rushed towards him with an arm covered with shadows, he aims a punch at him. But Cline merely blocks it with his fire. Cline kicks away Rogue's arm and manages to punch him in the face, making him back up. He prepares to attack him with fire, Rogue moves quickly and knees him in the stomach, making Cline stagger backwards away from him. While the white haired male backs away he holds his stomach while maintaining a good distance away from Rogue.
Slowly Cline's face darkens, "Heh, you really know Saphira, don't you?" He chuckles darkly.
"Hm? What are getting at?"
"Saphira... she is not who you think she is... For one, she is not eleven. She's far from it..."
Now that he thought about it, it might actually be a possibility that she really wasn't eleven. She's been trapped in that crystal for who knows how long, she might have even been sealed away ages ago in the past. But why would age matter? Saphira was a member of Sabertooth, and they have to take care of their members.
Rogue clenches his fists, "Are you and your friends responsible for trapping Saphira in that crystal?!" He demanded, but Cline's eyes merely widened at the question. He looked at his side while putting his hand under his chin, "So that's were she ended up..."
Rogue clawed at him with his shadows but Cline attacked him by throwing a giant fireball, being unaffected by Cline's fire he continued charging before unleashing a burst of shadows towards him with incredible speed. The pale man didn't have time to react to his attack, the shadows violently knocked him back against a tree making the tree itself fall down from the strong impact. Rogue turned his physical body into a shadow, fighting against Cline would merely be a waste of his time. He raced across the town in his shadow form, with Frosch flying closely behind him. He was actually able to see the guy who took Saphira. With Rogue's acute ears, he was able to hear Cline's footsteps desperately trying to catch up with him. He'd deal with him later, for now he needed to get back Saphira and tell Frosch to find a safe place to hide.
"Frosch, grab Saphira and find a place that's safe! I'll join you later!"
The green little Exceed nodded, they both sped off towards Saphira's kidnapper at full speed. Rogue turned off his shadow mode and distracted the man by appearing before him. Saphira's kidnapper hesitated in taking another step, giving Frosch an opening to grab the Sand Dragon Slayer by the back of her shirt and flying off towards a random direction that was probably the exit of Camellia town.
Rogue stopped both Cline and his partner from going any further.
-XD-
Frosch went full speed ahead without looking back, as he kept speeding forward he noticed the exit sign of Camellia. With hesitation, he flapped his wings and flew faster out of the town and into the woods. Frosch looked down at Saphira sadly, who was still unconscious in his grasp, "Fro will protect Saphira... Fro promises..." He said with determination.
I can't move.
I can't see.
I'm stuck in the dark. I'm sitting in this abyss wondering what was going on...
What happened?
That guy who spoke those words, I don't know how he did it. But for some reason, he shut down my body. I couldn't move, I couldn't see, hear or feel. It's like I'm dead. I don't know what's going on but... I have a bad feeling. Like this was basically just a prologue and it was going to get worse from here on out.
...
...
...
Now that I think about it, it could probably be because of the dream I had during the train ride... Or perhaps it was just mere coincidence...? No it goes even father than that, I bet it's because of that incident when I collapsed at the guild. That voice in my head was telling me to go to sleep and that guy told me to sleep too, and they both used the name Lumina. What the hell is that even supposed to mean? Why should I sleep? I do that everyday! Why do I need more sleep?!
"Saphira."
Huh? Who said that?
"Saphira..."
That voice... somehow it gives me the feeling that the owner of this voice is kind... and they were close to me.
"...Saphira..."
The voice was getting quieter and farther away. No... I need to know... Who is that?
"...Saphira..."
In the abyss of this darkness, I quickly got up from the floor, the voice was leaving this place! I can't let it...! I looked at my left and right, both sides had a ball of light floating in the air. They were both getting farther as I stood there, which one should I take?
"...Saphira..."
The right side seemed more closer to me... I didn't want to take the left side since it was more farther and because I was lazy. I immediately sped off towards the light in hopes of finding out who the voice belonged to. Once it seemed the light was within my grasp I desperately reached out for it by jumping forward.
Then it flashed brightly before my eyes...
...
...
...
Mommy!
As the light subsided, my eyes widened at the sight before me.
Before me was a four-legged dragon scales colored just like sand... my sand. I sensed a gentle aura radiating from the dragon.
"Saphira, I will personally teach you Sand Dragon Slaying Magic."
"What's... your name?"
"You may call me, Synclitus."
"Mommy..." I whispered out as the memories of my foster mother rushed back into my head. Every single memory regarding her just until the day she left me.
Frosch set down Saphira next to a tree, he was positive he made it far away he used his Aera a lot... The little green Exceed glanced around the forest to make sure that they were alone. Soon enough he stood in front of the unconscious Saphira who was leaning back against the tree.
"Saphira..." The little green feline whispered worriedly.
As he continued to stare at her, he noticed that her right hand twitched and then became transparent for a moment.
"Huh?" Frosch tilted his head to the side.
Cline merely stared at Rogue with an apathetic face. The Shadow Dragon Slayer was one of Sabertooth's best... There was no way he could continue with him in the way. He was planning on just stalling him, but now that he retrieved Saphira he couldn't do anything else. The pale male sighed, he looked at his partner and have him a quick nod.
Rogue was surprised to see the two of them suddenly retreat. The Shadow User narrowed his eyes at them, "Wait-!" However he stopped himself from going after them once an image of an unconscious Saphira appeared in his mind. He growled, as much as he wanted to go after them he wanted to make sure Saphira and Frosch were okay. He turned around and followed Frosch and Saphira's scent, their scent led him outside of Camellia and into a forest.
"... Saphira... don't cry...!"
"Frosch... She... Left!"
"Who?"
He heard his friends' voice not too far away. He continued following their scents and then finally made it. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks once his eye caught the sight before him. He just froze in surprise.
There leaning back on a tree was Saphira, and she was sobbing. Frosch looked at Rogue with a slightly confused look. Once Saphira was aware of his presence she looked up at him and immediately scrambled up to her feet, she ran to him as her tears kept flowing down her cheeks. He staggered back a little once she collided on him. And as she hugged him, he could feel her shaking against him. Her sobbing continued as she held him. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her smaller body.
"Saphira, what's wrong?"
She gasped out for air, "Sh-She left me all alone!"
Confusion immediately wrote itself on his face.
"Who?"
"Synclitus! She left me there alone... I was lonely...! She left... me..." She whispered out the last word and her shaking became a little more frantic. He was so confused, who was she talking about?
"Uh... Who is Synclitus...?"
"... Synclitus... The Sand Dragon..."
Rogue's eye widened. "Sand Dragon...? You remembered something?"
-XD-
After Saphira had told him that she remembered everything during her time with Synclitus. She continued to cry against him, he could only ask himself if this is how she felt when the Sand Dragon left her behind. He figured her memory made her relive that day. He stared down sadly at her as she kept sobbing against him. He let a small smile draw on his lips, he let her go for moment, when he did he could feel his shirt getting a little damp from her tears, he then reached for his cape. He removed it and draped it around her shoulders, it was a bit too long for her though.
She looked up at him with her tearful cobalt eyes, confusion within them.
"Come on, let's go get the reward. Then we'll head home, to Sabertooth."
Saphira looked down at the ground, she gave Rogue a nod before wrapping his cape tighter around her body.
As they all walked back to Camellia, Frosch, who was walking between them, couldn't help but stare at Saphira as tears still kept falling down on her face.
-XD-
After many thanks and many kisses from Lady Hilla (much to Rogue's dismay) they went back to Liger station. Rogue's cape was still on Saphira, she was hidding her face underneath the fabric. She was hiding so that people in the train station wouldn't look at her crying face. Her sobbing had been reduced to quiet crying, that was a good thing. She cuddled up against the older Dragon Slayer once he rubbed her back. He hoped she would cease her tears before they finally made it home. He wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea. If he returned back at Sabertooth with a tearful Saphira, most of the members would be on his back!
After a few minutes, their train finally arrived. The black haired male, the green Exceed and the black haired girl walked inside and took their seats and waited for the train to start moving. Rogue was mentally preparing himself for the ride while he had time.
The train finally began to move out of the station, when it accumulated some speed. Rogue heard Saphira whimper as he stared out the window. Thinking she was still crying, he continued staring out the window. Before leaving the mansion, Saphira insisted Rogue let her stop crying on her own even though he and Frosch wanted to cheer her up.
But, crying wasn't the problem at the moment...
Saphira gagged and covered her mouth. "... I feel sick...!"
My tears stopped the moment the train finally moved. And for some reason, I started feeling sick, I quickly covered my mouth, the more this vehicle kept moving the more I wanted to puke out the food I digested. Why am I feeling sick?! That's Sting and Rogue's thing! Wait a sec... Yukino said that most Dragon Slayers get motion sickness... Damn it. I'm starting to regret the fact I am Dragon Slayer... Why do I have it too?!
"I... wanna ... get... off...!" I managed to say once I removed my hand.
Rogue glanced at me and probably figured it out,
"Congratulations, you've now acquired motion sickness."
"I... bet you... and Sting gave... it to me... Ughh...!"
I slapped my hand over my mouth.

As soon as the train arrived at our destination, I left as quickly as I possible could with all the strength I had left. Even with all my desperate efforts to get out of that demonic train, I ended up being the last passenger in there. The staff were watching me pathetically and encouraging me. (They could have at least carried me out!) Rogue and Frosch were waiting outside for me with my things. As soon as I finally managed to crawl out of there, I splat on the solid floor of the train station and I heard clapping behind me. (Stupid people...! Next time help me!)
"I survived my first motion sickness... thingy...!" I've never felt so relieved to be finally back home! Well the town at least. Man, I could stay on this wonderful solid ground for the rest of my life instead of that god forsaken train. I heard Frosch ask if I was okay, I replied positively by hugging him. I got back up on my feet and walk towards Rogue, who seemed amused by my little dramatic scene in front of lots of people.
I lifted Frosch and placed him on my head.
"Well! Let's head home to Sabertooth guys!" I beamed with a smile.
Rogue patted my head. "Good to see you smiling again."
"Fro likes when Saphira smiles!"

In the office of the guild of Sabertooth, which currently belonged to Sting Eucliffe, the guild master was drumming his fingers on the wooden surface of the table as he pondered about something. Lector, the guild master's partner, was greatly confused. Just a few seconds ago he was writing papers then suddenly he dropped his pen and started thinking. The red feline was wondering what he was thinking about.
"Hey Sting... What are you thinking about?" The feline asked curiously before sitting down on the desk in front of Sting. Said man let out a heavy sigh, and lifted his right hand to ruffle his blond locks.
"Saphira."
Lector then understood and nodded, "Oh! I get it, you're worried about her aren't you? Don't worry! Rogue's there to help if anything bad happens! Man Sting, you gotta learn to let her go sometimes. You're not her dad."
Sting gave him a bemused look, "I am not worried. I know she'll be fine! I'm not thinking about that..."
Lector blinked, now he was seriously confused. He titled his head to the side. Sting leaned back on his rolling chair and crossed his arms, he lowered his head and closed his sapphire eyes for a moment.
"Something's not right. Dragons disappeared on July X777 right? And today the current year is X791 so basically it's been 14 years since all dragons disappeared. Right?"
"Yeah, but I don't see what this has to do with Saphira."
Sting reopened his eyes, "Saphira is only eleven years old. It doesn't make sense. Most dragon slayers would be at least five years old to learn the magic that their dragons taught them."
Lector pondered for a moment as he thought of this new information. "Are you saying she isn't really a dragon slayer? But a second generation?"
Sting leaned forward and folded his arms on the desk, "I was thinking more like she was from a different time period. I mean think about it, when we found her she was in a crystal. We don't even know how long she was in there for." He sighed and stretched. "But I don't know, it's only a theory I have that could explain her imprisonment in that purple crystal."
"Well, your theory was actually smart."
Sting shot him a look. Lector merely grinned at him. He rolled his eyes, he pushed away the paper work to the side. He looked at the drawers next to him and paused for a moment before opening one. He pulled out a white sheet of paper and an envelope, he rested the paper in front of him and picked up his pen. Lector read the words Sting began writing.
"Hey Natsu, I remembered you guys mentioned a guy named Tyler Dunnel-"
It didn't take long for Sting to finish writing his letter. He was finally starting the first step on helping Saphira's memories. The dragon slayer folded the letter neatly before putting it in the envelope, Lector was kind enough to pass him a red seal for the letter. Once he was done sealing, he flipped it over and scribbled a few words on the front. With a grin, he lifted his head and picked up the letter.
"Lector, can you do me a favor and give this to a pigeon carrier?"
The red Exceed took its wings and used Aera magic to fly. He nodded with a smile and took the letter from his friend's hand, and took the window as a shortcut to go outside. Sting watched as Lector flew off with the letter in his grasp.
If he was right about this Tyler boy, then he was definitely going to look for that.
"A message? From Sting?" Fairy Tail's guild master, Makarov, repeated with surprise. The lovely white haired bartender of the Fairy Tail guild nodded with a gentle smile with a letter in hand. She handed the letter to Makarov and stood in front of him as he started opening the envelope. Makarov's eyes moved to the left and right repeatedly a couple of times before stopping.
He lifted his head from the letter, "Erza!"
The said woman looked at the master for a moment before walking towards him. She noticed the letter in his small hands, then noticed mark of Sabertooth at the end caught her attention. Surprised, she wondered why Sabertooth had messaged Fairy Tail.
"Yes Master? What is it?"
"I've got a letter from Sting, it's addresses to you guys, it's about Tyler."
The master's voice was loud enough to be heard from far away, and it was able to reach a certain boy's ears. He lifted his head and turned around, revealing his wine colored eyes to the whole world to see.
