Chapter 6: The unexpected surprised attack.
It had been a week after the event's of God Gundam pay a visit at Neo Arcadia and encounter with Master X. All this time the Neo Arcadian had been high alert on every outpost due to rumours of God Gundam confront with all 4 guardians and able to escape had been spread by the Resistance which caused a rumour that the Resistance had a chance to bring down Neo Arcadia.
Of course, the gundam is laying on low profile by Ciel. She wasn't happy that the fighter gundam going to the capital city of their enemy alone, she detain God Gundam a month of chores in the base without any chance to head for any mission with Zero.
Zero too received punishment for letting God Gundam went solo, but he's needed for the mission and all he do is just helping Ciel on something.
God Gundam can't blame anyone, he was reckless and he admit it he was wrong. However, he felt glad he made a decision to went alone because he finally learn something when he first saw Master X.
"It feels like I'm looking at Devil Gundam, but I can't find any trace of DG Cell on him. But there's no doubt about it, since his face all fix up when I punched him." God Gundam murmured as he sweep of some junk laying on the floor. "I'm sure my punch make a crack on his face, how come his face still looks fine?"
God Gundam just groan in annoyance, he hate thinking a lot. It make his head throbbing in pain for thinking too much, he just sounded that he's an idiot. As he done with sweeping, he walk around the underground base just to find the Resistance soldier everywhere with elders and children around.
In the gundam mind, he keep recalling Devil Gundam for some reason. He was hoping to forget about it, but the more he tried to forget the more he remember, its very weird. But still, he found no trace of DG cell in this world which he was glad.
Just right around corner, God Gundam stop his tracks before he bump into a familiar red and black Reploid below him. "Sup, Zero. back from your mission?" God Gundam asked.
Zero nodded his head, "Sadly, I was unable to recover the data of my lost memory from the Neo Arcadian elite reploids since its all corrupted." Zero seem a bit down about it, the gundam just smack at Zero's back earning him a glare from shorter red reploid.
"Don't worry about it, at least you're safe and sound. So, what are you doing next? Good for you able to go out where I stuck in here." God Gundam grumble about his grounded punishment, Zero teased that it was his fault for going alone to Neo Arcadia just to say hello to them, Zero find it funny he go there alone just for that but he knew there was something else and he never bother asking about it, he know he will have answer for that later.
Both of them just randomly talk about mission, about Neo Arcadia, and stuff pretty much any normal conversation until Ciel call both Zero and God Gundam. Both of them wondered what's happening and they quickly head towards where Ciel is. Once they arrive, Ciel explained that she received an SOS signal of their own just outside of the dessert they were currently hiding, however Creveau said that the SOS signal coming from their patrol ship which had gone missing for 3 days, any sane people will know that it was a trap.
"I feel insulted that they think we're stupid enough to send a rescue team where no doubt it was Neo Arcadian." God Gundam said
"Even if it is, it worth to check." God Gundam look surprised at Ciel's decision, the gundam wasn't to sure about this and he know this is a trap but who can change Ciel's mind? Oh, the power of a female human...
Sadly, God Gundam still remain in the base due to punishment and send Zero to investigate. Not that the gundam mind but he's worried about Zero and he wished nothing happen there, Ciel ask gundam to check the underground warehouse to check if enough supplies and ammunition to ensure their soldier are fully geared and supplied. God Gundam went to check it out, however on his way he can't shake the feeling that someone is watching him from the shadow, he turn around and check his surrounding, finding it nothing unusual. God Gundam just shrug himself and unaware a pair of glow staring at him.
Meanwhile, at the dessert where Zero is currently undergoing search rescue. Just as he arrive at the coordinates, he was attacked by something coming from under the dessert. Zero look at it and it was a reploid but something is different, the appearance is too damaged for any reploids to function and yet its moving?
Zero kick it away and he find himself surrounded by broken reploids, Ciel contacted Zero that those reploids had turned into zombies, which Zero thought it makes no sense. As these Zombie reploids are approaching him, Zero slash them up, destroying every single of them.
Suddenly another one emerge from the sand and by the look of the appearance it must be one of the Elite's. The Reploid called himself Anubis Necromancess 3, and he declare that Zero will be destroyed here.
After some fight, Zero manage to defeat Anubis but just as he called the base he saw Anubis slowly got up and had turned like the undead. Zero destroy it again but Anubis is still standing up and suddenly Zero saw Anubis parts starting to regenerate and he was repaired like before.
"What the?" Zero surprised when Anubis was revived.
"Hahahahaha! I told you, I am immortal! Now, die Zero!" Anubis charge towards Zero, just when Zero was about to brace himself to the incoming attack, Anubis was kicked by side and knocking him over.
Both reploid was surprised at the sudden interuption, when Zero saw the stranger his eye's widen in shock when he saw his savior. He look exactly just like gundam, except he was black in colour with red lining, his head had a long pointed strecthing to back, his shoulder is round, he has sharp fingers and his back seem like a folded wing.
"Who are you?" Anubis growl, however the stranger just charge towards it and stab Anubis chest with his hand, making the maverick scream in pain. The stranger pulled it out, making a turn to deliver a final blow.
"Darkness finger!" The black reploid hand begin to glow dark purple and slammed in Anubis who later been dissolve in to ashes, unable to regenerate anymore.
Zero just on four on the sand, he just witness something similar, too similar that happen to him. The black reploid walk towards him, and offered his hand, Zero hesitated to took it and the black reploid pulled him onto his feet.
"Who are you?" Zero asked
"Hahahaha, I think it's better you use that time to head back to your base. It's not over yet." The stranger said.
Zero immediately tried to contact the base but it was static, with no hesitation, Zero dashed back to the base and hoping everyone is fine. The blonde hair reploid wondering who could that reploid be? He look resemble to God Gundam except for the colour frame. He will ask God Gundam asbout this once it was over.
Unbeknown to him, someone was standing in front of him. Zero then saw a red and white reploid with its body build scream power, he saw several Neo Arcadian soldier and without a doubt he's an enemy.
Zero continue to run towards and and fired his buster gun on the grunts, as he approach he took out his Z saber attack the stranger but was dodge away.
"So, you must be the legendary Zero? I was hoping to see you truthfully but not a cowardly bait strategy but who care's! I can get to fight you and then I'll pay God Gundam for the humiliation he caused last time! I am Fighting Fefnir, and you're mine!" Fefnir charge towards Zero, the blonde hair reploid cursed his luck. He hope God Gundam manage to hold down before he arrived.
Meanwhile, The Resistance Base.
Explosion and gunfire heard everywhere, with no doubt the base is under attack by the Neo Arcadian. Ciel ushered to refugee to take cover while the troops returning fire to provide cover and time for evacuation. One by one, the Resistance troops fallen to the hands of Neo Arcadian. God Gundam manage to take all down within the vicinity before any more casualties.
"Ciel, get everyone out of here! I'll hold them off!" God Gundam turn towards Resistance troops, "All those can fight stay here and cover me! We need to keep those scraphead from entering the base!"
The Resistance gave a war cry and begin to fired their buster's at Neo Arcadian soldiers. God Gundam dash forward, dodging as much bullets fly towards him as he can, although some hit him but he doesn't care about the pain. With ease God Gundam knock and destroy any enemy he can find, suddenly he heard his com link beeping, its from Ciel.
"Ciel, What is it? By the way, what happen to Zero? He's out there for too long!" God Gundam asked.
"God Gundam, Zero's been ambushed by the enemy and he's fighting one of the four Guardians, Fefnir." Ciel answered, God Gundam tried to remember who that was and it was the tallest one of the guardians he saw. His appearance seem more combat and powerhouse type, he hope Zero can handle someone like that.
"Dammit, at this rate the base will be overrun in no time with this number's! How much longer till the evacuation complete?!" God Gundam asked
"Around 5 more minutes, the civilians are all in the airship right now, all that's left is to collect our troops. Wait, I got a reading that something is approaching very fast and its heading towards us!" Ciel said
"God Dammit! We're coming over now, hold it off till I'll arrive there!" God GUndam turn towards the Resistance, "Everyone, fall back!" The troops slowly retreating to the airship, God Gundam stay behind until everyone is retreating, he turn around and slam the bulk door shut, with this they can buy some time.
God Gundam told the troops to head towards Ciel, he will go and stop something that's approaching it. The gundam rushed towards the coordinates Ciel send to him, according to the reading it must be quiet big, if something that big and is moving fast underground it could be a giant drilling machine.
As he arrived, he heard an sound heading towards his direction. As the gundam predict it was a giant drill machine and its currently charging towards God Gundam. Ciel tell him to run away from it since it is dangerous to face head on with the drill, however the gundam just stand still and ignoring Ciel's warning.
"It ends here driller!" God Gundam flap open his wings and circular orange light glowed behind him. The gundam jump upward of the driller and slam his right leg above it, "Special move's, God Stomp!", the driller smash into half and later the explosion make the driller turn into a scrap metal.
God Gundam brush himself, he was thankful the underground tunnel is large enough for him to jump or that attack just now won't be effective. Suddenly Ciel intercept a reading and believed it will be an explosive scattered across the base. God Gundam groan in annoyance, there's no time to disable them all however there's a few nearby the evacuation area. God Gundam immediately head towards the location of the bombs and disable it.
"Is Zero still out there? We can't leave him alone!" God Gundam asked.
"He's still engaging with Fefnir, at this rate the Neo Arcadian will storm inside here and kill everyone." Ciel said, there's a hint of sadness with gundam's receiver. He can't leave Zero alone but he can't risk having everyone life's like this.
"Ciel! Start the launch!" God Gundam said
Ciel wanted to retort that they can still wait, however God Gundam tell her to launch the airship and tell her he will get on it on time, as for Zero the gundam promise he will get him back after this. As he found several bombs, God Gundam destroy it since Ciel said the explosion won't occur even when destroyed which God Gundam like it because he's not good in patient in this adrenaline rush situation...well Reploid version of it.
"That's that, now I better contact Zero. Hey, Zero can you hear me? I'm coming for you right now, so watch you're head!" As God Gundam closed the link, he don't care if Zero heard or not but he's going to save him now. When he turn, a flying kunai heading towards his head and the gundam barely dodge it.
"You won't escape, God Gundam!" A reploid coming out of from the shadow and currently sticking on the ceiling, God Gundam noticed it was the black reploid and a guardian, tink his name was Phantom.
"Great, first an ambush, then a damn driller, just now a bomb and now you. You people sure know how to throw a party but too bad it's done horribly, I wonder what's next?" God Gundam said in sarcasm.
"I can answer you that, your destruction!" Phamtom throw another series of shuriken towards Gundam, however he mentally smirk and stomp on the floor hard enough to break causing him to fall down. As he landed he saw a chase bike in front of him, he got no time to play with Phantom as he got a certain blonde hair and white ass Reploid to save. The bike hummed to life and God Gundam drive towards a wreckage wall and burst out of it and landed on the sand, heading toward's Zero location while ignoring Phantom's call.
Meanwhile somewhere on dessert,
Zero trying to find an opening on Fefnir since that hot headed reploid just shooting and slamming everywhere like a madman. As he saw his chance he strike toward's Fefnir causing the tall Reploid's buster knocked away and the saber was pointing at Fefnir's face.
"Kill me, you won." Fefnir said
However, Zero deactivate it and walk away from Fefnir, he got some other things important to do. However, Fefnir grab his shoulder stopping Zero.
"Wait, why you leave me alive?! You should have finish me when you have a chance!" Fefnir ask, he don't know why his enemy not finishing him off until Zero answered.
"Because I don't feel like it, and I'm in a hurry." Zero move his shoulder away from Fefnir's grab, the tall red reploid just dumbfound and laugh. Fefnir was interested, not only he's strong but also an idiot. However, Fefnir had fun fighting him anyway so he's sooo looking forward to fight him again.
However, Neo Arcadian troops begin to land on them. Zero was completely surrounded and Fefnir was surprised at it. "They are with Phantom! Hey, what's the big ideal?" Phantom appeared beside Fefnir and Zero was pinned down by the soldier with his hands on the back.
"Didn't you hear what Master X ordered? Capture Zero and bring him to Neo Arcadia." Phantom said
"Oh? I thought another order was destroy God Gundam, which I think you already failed, you said you left Zero too me and since he defeat me he should be walk free for now!" Fefnir argue.
Phantom explain that capturing Zero is the first priority, and he didn't care about the chivalry crap as the mission is all he care. Fefnir grab Phantom's collar out of anger for crumble his honour, they heard a sound of a bike heading towards his direction and saw God Gundam approaching and he's not very happy when he saw Zero was pinned down. God Gundam pressed the pedal to the max and speed towards them, when the gundam almost reach them Zero com link the gundam to retreat.
"Zero, what are you talking about? They're going to turn you into scrap if they got you!" God Gundam argue, however Zero explain that their mission was to capture him which means he have a chance to survie, Zero lips turn to grin. "Well, I counting on you, partner. You have dozen of question to answer after this. Now go, or you miss Ciel's flight!" Zero told God Gundam, the gundam scream in anger as he turn around and speed off towards a cliff and run off, below him is the airship where Ciel is, he landed the bike on the ship safely and got inside the ship, leaving Zero behind.
Zero relief that the Resistance is safe and manage to escape, he turn towards the two guardian. "Now, take me to X. Like how you were ordered." Phantom urge the soldier to bring Zero towards the truck, the blonde reploid glance at unemotional Phantom and outrage Fefnir who's currently being hold by his own soldier in his team to calm down.
Zero hoped that God Gundam won't be reckless to barge into Neo Arcadia head on like last time, he too wanted to see this X since they were once a best friend and partners century ago. Why the sudden change? That's what he wanted to ask. Zero got in the back of the truck and the soldier close the lid on him, slowly heading towards to the capital of Neo Arcadia.
Inside Resistance airship.
God Gundam was furious, he keep slamming his fist on the wall and throw some stuff everywhere. He can't believe he had to left Zero alone and captured just like that, Ciel tried to calm him down and the gundam slowly take is breath and sit on the floor.
"Ciel, how long does it take to reach Neo Arcadia from here? Don't worry I'm not asking you to slam this ship there even if I want too. Or is there any way around?" God Gundama asked.
"There is a Neo Arcadia transport station nearby for supplies, you can go there like how you used to be but the security had been tighten during your first try." Ciel explain, "I know it's hard to leave Zero behind, even all of us taking it hard."
God Gundam stare the group of Resistance in front of him, all of them wearing guilty looks, he can't really blame them if they wait for Zero everyone will die. "No point, blaming ourselves for this right now." God Gundam stand up and eye on the troops, "Zero is counting on me to rescue him before what those jerkbags plan for him, and I'm going get his white ass out of there. But I need all help from you all, if you're don't mind." God Gundam pleaded, the soldiers immediately cheer that they will help Zero out, feeling motivated to safe the legendary hero, the gundam just chuckle himself.
"Ciel! We received an anonymous message from out of nowhere! I can't trace the source however the title is suspicious!" The pilot said
"Who does it address too?" Ciel asked
"It said to...God Gundam? Sir, it's for you!" The pilot said
"Weird, I can't think of anyone sending a message. Wonder who that is? Open it up soldier, and make the landing in case it's some virus making the system error. We can't risk having a crash landing with this altitude." God Gundam suggest, he turn to Ciel for permission and she ask the pilot to do as he said. The pilot begin to descend as low as possibly to avoid any Neo Arcadia on the ground, so far it's clean and Ciel ask the pilot to open the message, when it open the hologram of some city appeared, it was an hologram of Neo Arcadia with full details of sewer system, roads, inside capital city and all.
It was a full detail map, everyone was wondered who and how someone got this? Unless it's someone from there but the Resistance can't think of who. Suddenly a video message is heard, "It's been a long time, God Gundam." the hologram of a black Reploid emerge from the mail system with the Neo Arcadia hologram replaced.
Everyone was surprised and shock at the image in front of them, Ciel was completely shock and she turn towards God Gundam and she can see the gundam was surprised as well since his eye's were wide open.
"No, this can't be...Master?" God Gundam slowly walk towards the image, it was the one and only...Master Gundam.
"Sadly we can't meet in perfect timing however, you need to head to Neo Arcadia city as soon as possibly or you're friend is in danger...no the whole Reploid and humanity." the Master Gundam image said.
God Gundam was going to ask however the image of Master Gundam answered his question in advance and his fear come true.
"Devil Gundam is in the city." God Gundam scream 'No! It can't be!' and the image cut off. Everyone is clueless what is going on, however God Gundam turn to the pilot and tell him to head towards the city right now.
"Sir, it's reckless! We got civilian's inside!" The pilot said
"At this rate, no one is safe from anywhere with Devil Gundam around! Forget it, I'll go alone!" God Gundam storm off to the hanger without listening to Ciel, he head towards the bike chaser he used early, turn the engine off and head towards the exit. "Open it or I'll blast it off!" God Gundam ordered, however the troops were unsure what is going on, the gundam ticked off and pressed the pedal towards the closed exit, with his God Finger activated the exit was destroyed and God Gundam flew out of airship and drove towards Neo Arcadia, with one thing on mind.
To destroy Devil Gundam.
At some time after God Gundam drive away.
Zero been lead by Phantom and Fefnir heading towards Master X chamber as been ordered, Zero was nervous about what will they do to him next? He was prepared to find any opening to make his escape, his thoughts were snap when he heard they were arrived.
When they entered, he saw other two guardian and a blue reploid sitting on the throne. Leviathan seem happy to see Zero, the blonde hair reploid not sure why though as he never see her before and he noticed Harpuai just staring at him.
Then, he finally face Master X. The ruler of Neo Arcadia, and former partner. "Ahh, Zero. I've been long time to see you, I was hoping we can meet at different circumstances but knowing you joining the Resistance...you should know." X said
Zero just remain silent, he wasn't sure why but was supposed to have a lot of question but seeing the X in front of him, he didn't feel anything at all. As if he was looking at stranger, "You're not X"
The guardian is surprised, X only raised his eye in question. "Oh? how so?"
"Because I feel nothing when I see you, no flash back moments, no feelings as if I'm looking at a complete stranger. If we're really a partner's before I should have remember some part but seeing you, its was nothing." Zero said while glaring at the X in front of him, "You're not X, who are you?"
Before Harpuia wanted to teach Zero some lesson, an explosion was heard and a small tremor happened in the throne room. Everyone was wondering what happened, until Zero grin.
"You guys don't remember? He's here already." Zero said in smug, the guardians and X know what it means. God Gundam has arrived and he's trying to rescue Zero, X wave his hand and a giant monitor shows God Gundam currently rampaging around. Zero find it weird that the gundam seem not himself, and he never thought that God Gundam will be aggressive when it comes to rescue.
"Where is Devil Gundam?! Where is it?!" Zero and the guardian were wondering what could it mean? However, Zero notice X's expression changed into more malice and chuckle darkly.
The all 4 guardians looking at their father weirdly, they never heard him laugh like that. The X give order's to the guardian to entertain God Gundam while he'll having a personal chat with his long lost friend. They were hesitate but obey anyway, they left the room leaving the two alone in the throne room.
"Now then Zero, I have a proposal. Join my rank and together we can bring peace to this world, with both of us nothing can stop us!" X said
"No, I don't know what are you but I'm not going to be you're puppet!" Zero said
"That's too bad, you could be a great asset! Hhhrraaaah!" Master X changed his armour to an form of angelic, "Prepare you're self, Zero!" Zero readies his saber and buster, he leap towards Master X and engage him what he thought as a final battle.
Dunn dunn dunn~~~Well now we're almost reaching a finale, Master Gundam had appeared and to bad God Gundam being reckless again leaving Ciel again without telling them wtf is going on, and Devil Gundam is in Neo Arcadia?
