Chapter 6 Surprise:
Just as I handed the mike back I could hear the applause picking up and could see people crying and saluting in respect on my way up the ramp so I could get away from prying eyes before I fell apart. Just as I set foot behind the curtain I was pulled into hugs from the whole family and when I was able to breath an see people I saw that Punk and Jeff had their jaws open and the others staring down the other people that roamed around us.
I wasn't totally sure what they were doing but before I could voice my thoughts I heard a "Jamie!" being called from behind me I turned to see the Uso twins and three blonds making their way over to me and as they got closer I was able to recognize Chris Jericho in the group look as if he was bored and everyone was beneath him but once he heard my name he perked up interest but when he caught sight of me he gave me one of the warmest smiles I have ever seen on his face before. I couldn't even move a muscle to great them before I felt a dominating presence next to me I looked over to see that Randy went into Viper mode for no reason that I could think of when I took a chance to look back at the group of five I saw them hesitate in their walking as they got closer.
I turned back to Randy an made him look down at me with this action I could feel the tension mount to a new level. I asked "What's wrong Snackey?" He looked away from me and back to the group of men but I forced him to look back at me but not before I saw Chris tense ready to snap into action, I stated "No no don't look at them I'm the one asking the question not them. So I ask again what is wrong?" He didn't say anything for a minute before mumbling that I wasn't able to hear over the noise of the back stage so I prompted him to repeat himself, "I just don't like you being here without any of us." I looked up at him smiling while replying with "Don't you worry that pretty shaved head of yours I can take care of myself as you well know what happened to the last guy who messed with me."
He smirked but our moment was interrupted by the familiar laughter of my best friends who I turned to wondering what was so funny when they saw me look at them the said through laughter "We have never seen him so protective of someone other then Sam and his daughter." I nodded an was about to say something when a familiar voice interrupted me "Who Lil. Angel you look nice." I turned so fast that I had whiplash only to come face to face with Zack I laughed before launching myself at him making him stumble before righting himself. When we separated his words finally caught up with me an I blushed I had to look away when I felt everyone's eyes turning to look at what I was wearing, before I could even defend myself Jimmy said "Yeah as soon as we heard Teddy call out your name we were going to go great you but we had to pause because we thought we saw an Angel…" He got interrupted by my laughter which made everyone around me pause and when I was finally able to calm down I said "Yeah me an Angel I think you need a new prescription I'm just me… I'm just Jamie."
I pulled my sweater closer to my body in warmth but also comfort and when Randy and Zack saw this they both put their arms around me in silent support I stared off into space but was broken out of my day dreams by a unfamiliar male voice saying "Who ever told you the crock of shit is more of an assclown then these two." He motioned to Chris and the other blond who didn't seem to take offence to the comment but nodded along while Chris gave me a look of worry. When I looked around me I could see that everyone else agreed with me but Taker, Kane, Jeff, Punk, Randy and Zack where giving me looks of concern from my reaction to Jimmy's words I had to look away because of the tightening of my heart that I felt from causing them to worry about me. The blond who spoke before stuck his hand out "Adam Copland other's know me as Edge." I smiled shaking his hand while he motioned with his other one to the blond on his right "This is Christian." He gave me a smile and wavy while Edge continued "and this is Chris Jericho." When I looked at Chris I saw his mischievous look before he stuck out his hand as if for me to shake it but as soon as I grabbed it he tore me away from Zack and Randy's arms to only spin me around in a hug before setting me on the ground saying "Nice to see you again midget."
I pulled away pout full force saying "I'm not a midget you old and abnormally tall person." I was about to continue before I noticed that his face turned pale while looking over my shoulder I turned to see that Randy was back in Viper mode and Mark was in Undertaker mode as well. I moved towards both of them before tug at Taker's sleeve to make him look at me which made Randy look at me two I put on my puppy eyes of doom but they both tried to look away only to get an extra lip wiggle and when that didn't work I add in a whimper I watched them crumble like a house of cards. They both sighed before saying "Fine we won't kill him…" It's was left at that until I let a tear slide down my face "and we won't hurt him in anyway." I gave them both a hug before saying "He's an old family friend." I looked over my shoulder to see him pouting and mumbling that he wasn't that old and that made the tension leave the group only for my stomach to interrupt the comfortable silence with it rumbling. I blushed before blurting out "So who wants to grab something to eat?" Everyone broke out laughing before agreeing with me.
