Chapter 7: Truth
I'm back! So which means that I have a new chapter! Sorry for taking so long and to be honest, I'm really struggling with this story. All the ideas I have for this story are all tiny fragmented ideas and I have no idea how to make them into a chapter much more numerous chapters to connect them and finish this story. I guess it's because I never had this story planned, it was all a spur of the moment idea and I'm actually surprised I made it to chapter 7 but I'll try my best to think of ways to connect my ideas. Anyway, enough of my blabbing! On with the story!
IMPORTANT!: I will be changing my pen name from taxc to avane21; Reason? I plan to write rated M yaoi about my favorite yaoi pair (AloisXCiel) in the future and it wouldn't be fun if my siblings found out and told my parents so yup, I will now be avane21.
Warning: ooc-ness! But only for the first part
"Come on Ciel! Won't you smile for your Auntie Grell?" Grell coaxed the frowning boy who shot him one of his most deadly glares.
"No! I refuse! I should not be forced to smile when I am not even happy." The boy spat and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Don't bother Grell. He gets brattier everyday!" Alois shouted, throwing a pillow at the Earl's way, smiling triumphant when it hit him on the head.
"How dare you?! You insolent brat!" Ciel screamed hurling the pillow right back at him which Alois managed to dodge, sticking his tongue out at the bluenette. A seething Ciel got up and ran to the blonde, knocking him down to the ground but Alois being the stronger of the two managed to push the angry Earl off him.
"What is your problem?!" Alois shrieked.
"My problem?! You're the one who started it!"
"I did not! You did!"
"You're always pretending to be helpless so that someone will come to aid you! It's pathetic!"
"So why do you care?! I can do whatever I want! You aren't the boss of me!"
"Woah! Easy there children! Remember, a model's best feature is his face and it would be a shame to see it all blue and bruised." Grell reminded the fuming youngsters as he pulled them apart. "Now, how about we talk this out like the civilized people we are." Grell gently led them to the coach and sat down on the middle, patting both sides, smiling. It took sometime but the two pissed off teens finally did as they were told and sat down stiffly beside the red head, each one huffing.
"Alright then, this is how we will do it. I will give each one of you a chance to talk and by talk I mean that the other cannot under any circumstance interrupt, seems fair?"
The two boys grumbled a 'yes' and Grell clapped his hands in excitement. "Good and now I will toss a coin! Ciel, you call the shots!"
Grell flipped the coin and caught it expertly, waiting for Ciel to reply.
"Tails."
"And its...TAILS! You can begin now Ciel and remember Alois NO TALKING!"
"That will be hard." Ciel smirked and Alois merely glared at him.
"So, Ciel, why seems to be the problem between you and Alois?"
"Where do I even begin? Should I start with the fact he has no sense of privacy? Constantly barging into my office as though he owned the place, disregarding the fact I am busy running a company! Or that he forces me to play silly games with him because he is 'bored'. It's not my fault he's bored! I didn't invite him in the first place! Or that he walks around in those ridiculously appalling short shorts of his! Disrespecting the dress code on numerous occasions! But most of all, the worst offense that brat had committed was that he KILLED MY PARENTS!"
"Woah! Excuse me?!"
"Alois!"Grell scolded "I thought I told you not to-"
"I know but he's wrong! I did not kill your parents!"
"How dare you lie to my face?! I have known for a long time who killed my parents and it was you!" Ciel stood up, confronting the blonde.
"Me?! Pray tell how I was able to kill your parents?! I didn't even know you then!"
"I haven't a clue but I will find out! You vile, vicious, conniving -"
"Ciel, stop, I think Alois might be telling the truth." Grell cut in, breaking his own rules.
"You are taking his side?!"
"You said 'I think?' There's nothing to think about! I didn't do it!"
"That's what a guilty party would say!"
"Everybody calm down! We will get to the bottom of this situation! Don't you worry, Auntie Grell will fix everything." Grell then proceed to magically pull out this huge white board complete with a stand and colourful markers. He then began to draw Ciel's face in chibi form on the right side with the blue marker and Alois's on the left.
"Let us begin, how old were you Ciel when your parents were killed?"
"Do you even have to ask?" Ciel growled irritably. "Has being my aunt's butler taught you nothing?"
"This is all for formalities sake and besides, that was centuries ago, you can't expect a pretty lady like me to remember everything ~." Grell blew a kiss to the Phantomhive causing the hair on the back of head to stand up in horror.
"Alright! It was on December 14 1885! I was 10 years old!"
"Good, now I will just write that down." Grell then proceed to take the gray marker and drew Ciel's parents faces (also in chibi form) and drew a massive 'X' with the red marker as well as the date the event happened.
Ciel cringed when he saw the drawing. "Is that drawing absolutely necessary?"
"Huh? Oh! Sorry! That was terribly rude of me!" Grell quickly erased the drawing and settled for just the date instead. "That better?"
"Yes..."
"And Alois where were you at this time?"
Alois stiffened and immediately looked uncomfortable. "I-I-"
"You were what?! Meeting up with the hitman? The assassin? You killed my parents so why can't you admit it!"
"I couldn't kill your parents because I was busy being chained to a bed by some perverted old geezer!" Alois retorted angrily even those he was struggling to keep all of his emotions in check.
"Wait, what?"
"O-on that year, I was taken into the Trancy household to become...a play thing for the old Earl...I remained in imprisonment for almost 3 years..." Alois whispered, bowing his head, sniffing miserably.
"Oh! I'm so sorry Alois!" Grell rushed to the boy's side and Ciel found that he was rendered speechless as guilt become to fill him. He had no idea Alois was a victim of sexual harassment much less by an old man.
"But-"
"It was Sebastian and Claude, those two had an argument to make it seem as though I killed your parents so that you would take your angry out on me and in the process make your soul taste richer."
"Alois-I-"
"Forget it. I just want to go home...please...I'm done for today."
"Of course, of course! Anything you say! Gather your things. I will go tell those two." Grell said the last part with venom practically dripping.
Ciel stood there with his head hung low. He had never been so mistaken in his life but he couldn't find the urge to strangle his demonic ex-butler just yet, not until he made up with Alois and put his horrible actions behind him.
The ride home was completely quiet. Both boys remained silently and each busied themselves with staring out the window and looking at the scenery. Sebastian exchanged a puzzled look with Claude but the golden eyed man merely shrugged. He too had no idea what had happened in the photography room. They had been playing video games while waiting for them to finish taking the pictures after all and when Claude plays video games, he goes into shut-down-focus-on-killing-your-enemies mode.
Once they reached home, Alois quickly rushed into his room and slammed the door shut. Ciel sighed and made his way into the study, locking the door as well. The butlers exchanged glances again. What exactly happened to those two?
In the end, Claude shrugged and walked over to the TV, pulling out his PS4 controller. "It's probably just some teenage angst. They'll get over it."
"If you say so but...we do I feel something bad is about to happen to us?"
"It is probably just your imagination. We are demons. Nothing bad will ever happen to us."
"I suppose so...I'm going to go buy some supplies. I'll be back shortly."
Claude nodded and turned on the play station, immediately going into gamer mode. Sebastian sighed, the feeling of uneasiness still refused to leave him.
Ciel stood outside his and Alois's bedroom, palms sweating. Alois had just unlocked the door a few minutes ago and Ciel was having a hard time controlling his nervousness but who could blame him? He was about to apologize to the boy he had spent months hating on because he believed he had killed his parents when he had nothing to do with it.
Ciel sighed, willing himself to open the blasted door. He was ready for this. He had done a full scale google search on the art of apologizing and he was sure he had it down to pat and true, he had never apologized to anyone in 3 years but he used to apologize to his parents all the time! Sure it was because he ate a cookie before dinner or that he 'forgot' to put his toys away but it was still apologizing and he was Ciel Phantomhive! He was the Queen Guard dog! He would not back down! Yes! He could do this!
With his new found confidence, Ciel opened the door and called out the boy's name. When there was no reply, he took small step inside and searched the bedroom. Alois wasn't inside but the balcony door was open. He walked slowly towards the entrance and saw the blonde with his back to him, resting on the railings and wearing another ridiculous Sophia the first T-shirt.
Ciel coughed and Alois looked at him with a blank expression.
"C-can I join you?" Ciel cursed himself for stuttering but what could he do? He was nervous beyond belief.
"Sure, the view is the great. You should see it."
Ciel nodded and stood beside him. Alois wasn't lying when he said the view was great. The city lights seemed to dance spectacularly around them as the buildings stood proudly, showing off their makers' ingenuity and craftsmanship. Ciel had been in awe the first time he stepped out into the balcony at night but right now, the only thing he could hear was his beating heart. This nervous would kill him and he knew the only way to cure it was to do what he came here to do so with after inhaling in deeply, he did just that.
"I am only going to say this once so pay attention..."
Alois turned to look at him and Ciel found himself gulping once more but he had to do this. If it's one thing his mother taught him, it was that he had to learn now to be humble and realize when he was at fault. He had to be the bigger person.
"I-I apologize. I have been a bit harsh on you and it seems my misdirected feelings of anger towards you have been amplified in this century...I haven't been feeling much like myself."
Alois remained silently for a few minutes which caused Ciel to feel slightly panicked. Dear Lord, please don't tell him Alois was going to reject his apology. He wouldn't be that cruel? Would he? And finally after what felt like a life time, Alois smiled brightly at him and Ciel immediately sighed in relief.
"Apology accepted! And it's alright, you didn't have to worry about it. It's not your fault Sebastian and Claude plotted something behind your back and yeah, I have to agree with you...you have been acting more crazy than usual...I mean 'world domination?' Where did that come from?" Alois teased causing Ciel to blush a shade of light pink.
"It was a spur of the moment idea! I was fueled by the rush of adrenaline! Besides...no one can hurt you if you have power..." Ciel sighed. He too had his secrets and maybe he would share them with the blonde but just not yet. He wasn't ready. Luckily, the blonde did not pry and merely shook his head in agreement.
"You can say that again...that was one of the reasons why I took up the contract with Claude...that old geezer just didn't understand limits...and Ciel...I'm sorry too...for always being a nuisance when you were working hard on running your company and for not telling you about Sebastian and Claude sooner."
"Wait?! You knew?! And you allowed me to hate you?!"
"I didn't want you to hate me! But I had no idea how to talk to you! Which is why I thought that maybe we should become friends first!"
"And barging into my office unannounced is how you plan on us becoming friends?!"
"I'm sorry! I don't know how to make friends alright! I never needed to "be friends" with anyone before!"
Ciel face palmed himself. God, this boy was on a league of his own. "You know what, forget it. We have bigger things to worry about such us how we will get back at Sebastian and Claude?"
"Well." It was Alois smirked deviously "With my bratty-ness and your conniving-ness, we'll think of something."
"Excellent..." Ciel face curved up into his signature smirk. "Alois, I see this as the start of a wonderfully mischievous acquaintanceship."
"Acquaintance? Really?" Alois asked with a raised eyebrow.
Ciel shrugged. "I'll start you off as an acquaintance then see how it goes."
"Okay, fine by me...how long does it take before I can get a promotion?"
"You just became an acquaintance, be patient."
"Right, right...so umm...do you want to watch the Walking Dead? Season 5 is out."
Ciel shrugged and nodded his head. "Why not? I shall accompany you in this endeavour."
"Great! Now, let's go! It's almost time!"
Alois grabbed Ciel's wrist and led him back into the bedroom. The pair spent the night indulging in junk food, watching episodes and thinking of ways to get back at the demon duo. It was truly the start of a wonderful acquaintanceship soon to be friendship.
Big problem! If anyone of you have any idea what I should do to get back at Sebastian and Claude please message me your ideas! I am in desperate need of ideas!
Yup, message me please!
And yeah this chapter isn't as crazy and over the top as before and maybe I was rushing it when I just popped up the reveal of Sebastian and Claude's agreement but like I said, I never planned this story...I was just sitting in front of my computer, thinking of something to type then this popped up and I decided to go with it so yup, till next time! Reviews are my inspiration!
