After our meeting, we left the cave to head back to our world. I sat there watching as they talked about a plan to defeat the black digimon rulers. It was Nina who came and sat next to me, I was paying much attention to her or anybody, and I felt bad. I was the newest person here and in my eyes I was still learning about this world and the team, I wanted to be a part of this group but all of these people were doing this for longer than me and had more experience. Then I remembered something my friend told me, when you feel like you are useful then that is when you are the most useful to your team.
"David did you hear what I said?" said Nina as she broke my train of thought. I looked at her with the saddest eyes, I had ever made in my life.
"No, sorry, what did you say." I said as calmly as I could without letting her know how I was feeling.
"I said we are about to go back, apparently Robert has a TV that leads to our computer lab, that we can use." She said with a smile on her face.
Nina, Lina, Sergey, and me had said good bye to everyone and left through the TV, back to our world. When we got back, the three left me there to turn off the portal and computer. When I left, I felt this darkness growing inside of me that wasn't there before.
The next day
When we got to school, I saw DA and Azura, I went over to them to try talk about what had happened between us. I said "I'm sorry, that Sergey was such a jerk about finding Azura in the wood."
"It is fine, I owe my life to her and I swore to protect her from the darkness." DA said with a slight smile on his face.
"He doesn't have to be my only friend, but he is the only one I trust more than my own digimon." Azura had said with a sad look, that I knew very well.
I left them and hurried to class, we had a quiz on the evolution of certain animals over the first couple of centuries of them being around. I was doing ok with the quiz, but I mainly cared about ancient mythology. This was the only class, which I ever looked forward to, due to the fact that it was at the end of the school day.
At the end of the day I was sitting in the class room waiting for the computer room to get cleared out. When I walked in I saw my friends standing around the computer waiting for me.
Lina asked "What took you so long slow-poke?"
"Sorry, I was just thinking about something and lost track of time." I replied.
We went through the portal and landed in the digital, our digimon were waiting for us at the portal. They all sat down, and waited for the others to get here, I saw them come through their TV. I noticed that their digimon went with them to the real world, but my group didn't take theirs.
"Ok, so the plan is to take down one of the many control circuits. Everybody got that." Robert told us. "We need to split up to cover more ground, the teams will be: Sergey and me, Nina and Lina, Nurul and Lilly, DA and Azura, Trey and David can each go one way."
I was shocked that I was able to be alone, while searching for the circuit. When the others left I grabbed my bag and my pulled my goggles on top of my head, and headed out to search.
"David, are we going to be ok?" asked Lemon, he and Wolmon had gotten cleaned and were ready to leave.
"Yeah, we are going to be fine and besides we have to digi armor, we can use in case things get too tough for us to handle." I reassured him.
We headed south west, the plan was to call the others and tell them if we found a circuit so that we could all take it out. After a while of travelling, we came to a village where we saw digimon being controlled by a circuit, we had to slide past a group of guards. We searched for the circuit all over the place, but couldn't find it anywhere, I was just about to call the others when I heard one of the guards talking about their boss and how he was messing with the circuit trying to make it work better.
We followed the guards for a good bit, till we got their base. I was shocked on how big it was, but what caught my eye was the digimon, on top of the tower, it looked like it was talking to a human.
"A human, one who is working with the black digimon." I told Lemon and Wolmon. "We need to get a better look."
So we climbed the tower, when we got to the top I was shocked at who I saw, it was Kari. I was more shocked because, she was supposed to look a lot older than she did right now, she looked about my age or a bit younger. I walked towards her and I saw Gatomon her partner, and I knew we were match for a champion digimon.
"So this is one of the new digidestined, the masters warned us about." Kari said with a not so nice tone.
Gatomon lunged at Lemon; Wolmon jumped and knocked her off of Lemon. I had walked us right into a trap that we couldn't escape from; Gatomon was too powerful for them to fight. I knew we were done for, when a bright light exploded from my digivice, and hit Lemon and Wolmon.
I knew what to say "Lemon, Wolmon digivolve."
When the light died done, standing there was Leomon and Wolvmon. They had both gotten to champion stage, Leomon looked different than the one I was used to seeing, and he didn't stand on two legs, but was on four legs just like a normal lion. I would have to ask him about this later.
"Gatomon, get them." I heard Kari say.
"Leomon, Wolvmon stop her and destroy the circuit." I yelled.
Leomon jumped at Gatomon full force and knocked her off the ground, while Wolvmon ran to the circuit and started tearing it a part. Gatomon got up and readied her claws to attack, Leomon side stepped and avoided her attack.
"Lions roar." Leomon yelled.
It was powerful blast of pure energy that hit Gatomon and finished her off. She fell to the ground where she once stood. Kari fell right after her, with glozed over eyes. Wolvmon had just finished with the control circuit, which meant the village was free.
