Joey: How am I supposed to know I'm tied to a chair. I don't care anyway! *Looks worriedly towards the door before turning away quickly* Not worried at all.
IF: Sure (Ah sarcasm) *begins to leave the room* Maybe he's hanging out with Tea~
Joey: *glowers and mutters* He better not be.
P.O.V Joey
I screamed in frustration as I reached yet another dead end. What was with this place? I couldn't use my transport spell and I swear I keep hearing lisping laughter.
Upon hearing the laughter again I whipped around and grabbed a shadowy figure before it could disappear around the corner. I almost let got in shock when I saw who it was. "Noah?"
P.O.V. Seto
After the impromptu pep-talk to the Pharaoh the weird Egyptian Deity vanished back to wherever she came from, "So…" I turned to my sole human companionship upon the utterance, raising my eyebrow in question. "So…?" I prompted.
He visibly blushed then covered it up by coughing. "How is Yugi doing?" He tried to look like he didn't really care about the answer to his question but it was fairly obvious he was desperate for information. I thought back to the last month and winced, which he caught.
"What's going on with Yugi, Kaiba?" His voice took on a cold tone that said he was not letting it go no matter how bad the news might be.
"She was and still is going through depression so bad that she barely eats and is lethargic all day. She has been worrying her friends to no end though the recent situation seems to have drawn her out of it at least temporarily," I answered honestly and without any sugar coating. He flinched and looked off towards the door contemplating his next question. "Do you think she will get over it?" I snorted which got me a glare.
"According to the Mutt that might not be necessary." His eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
My smirk that I used when talking to my idiot employees came out. "You weren't paying attention to the random prophecies that I said the Mutt was spouting did you?" He has the decency to look guilty. I burst out into sinister chuckles. "I don't feel inclined to tell you."
P.O.V. The Gang
"Why does Joey keep using Shadow Magic…no how does she keep using it?" Ryou asked Isis. "Yeah," Yugi nodded. "I thought all the shadow magic vanished with the Pharaoh after the final battle."
Isis sighed heavily. "Apparently something else was happening while the events leading up to that were occurring. Joey must have some sort of connection in the past. By the way her magic does not seem to be Shadow Magic but something else. It was just a coincidence that her first spell was tied to the shadows."
"What else could it be Isis? I mean it's not like we know of any other types of magic besides shadow and the weird Atlantian Oricalcos," Ryou stated looking down at her friend. "There are other types that I am unfamiliar with Ryou," Isis said.
"Great does that mean a bunch of other crap is going to pop out of nowhere," Tristan complained.
Isis nodded. "It is likely that that may occur but it may be after we have passed on from this world and others will stand against the darkness."
POV Joey
I was seriously not excited to see this little squirt. Last time he was all over the 'whole kill everyone in a virtual world thing'. I sighed.
"Kay kiddo wha' ya doin' 'ere in da creepy ass hallway to nowhere gigglin' like a evil villain."
The kid actually had the nerve to glare at me. "I do not see how it is any of your business what I do in this hallway and I was not laughing like an evil villain." My eyes narrowed. "Den who was laughin'?"
"RAWR"
"Shit," Joey muttered looking at the creature that stood at the turn in the hall. She scooped up Noah, who stood frozen and took off.
Apparently there were crazy people with proboscises and pincers in the place Kaiba had disappeared too. Considering one of my theories about this place is that it is Kaiba's mind or at least his subconscious that is very disturbing and I do not want to know why he has random bug headed people that make very disturbing animal noises or his dead adoptive brother running around back here if that is the case!
Kaiba
The Pharaoh was glaring at me and had been doing so since I refused to repeat myself. I felt no need to do so. He has only himself to blame for not paying attention in the first place. A reverberating rawr sounded from far away and both of us glanced to the door.
"Looksss like the princesssss hasss found a losssst sssoul on her way and the other ssspirits of the realm are upset," Anubis said glancing without looking up from his reading.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked. Anubis looked at me and chuckled. "When a ssoul hass become lossssst on their way to be tried by my ssscales they eventually become creaturessss of the realm that tesssst thossssssse that are attempting to passs them. When a ssoul hass become lost the creaturesss attempt to get them to ssstay with them to become one of them. They dislike it when the sssoul is resssscued by another."
The Mutt really knew how to make a mess. It's just like her and the others of the Geek/cheerleading squad to stop and rescue a lost soul. I wonder what, or who, it was she took the time to rescue.
I am sorry for the lack of updates. I have quite a few fanfictions I have posted and I just don't finish them! I imagine it is very frustrating because I know it is for me when a story I like does not get updated in a while.
I will try to post in at least a month if not sooner. I have so many stories I need to revisit update and finish.
