Chapter 6: Discussions and General Meetings
"Captain with you being the younger version of Sam, you, Satterfield and Grodin are the only ones hearing this, but the quartet got hijacked, they ended up running into our favorite Jedi duo and met them face to face." Dixon said and she nodded in shock. "So the remarks just went from him turning into a megalomaniac and into a Sithlord, if he allows that information to come forward, we can't take that chance." she said to him gently.
"Alright come on." Hammond said to them and they went into his office and he grabbed the red phone then. "Mr. President I'm sorry for calling you right now, but I just learned that your joint chiefs have a rotten egg hiding in the group..., My junior science officer has discovered that James Vidrine is working for the trust and the NID..., His constant requests have nearly destroyed us thirty times in six years..., because he's not allowing Daniel to do his job the way you ordered him to do it."
"Uh huh, yes that's right, he's violating your orders that Daniel does your diplomacy for you with our allies right now, he's working with Kennedy, Morrison and Rice..., which team is it they're trying to get rid of here, it's my original SG-1 right now and the new version of it. But Daniel is beyond frustrated right now..., yes Sir I understand, the base is here by under my command and no outsider is allowed in here."
"Return to original mandate and lock out every non member of the SGC..., yes Sir I will, your orders and original intention for the original nine teams is being activated right now and Daniel is back in his original position as of now. The results of Vidrine ordering me to get advanced technology destroyed a planet after they blackmailed me by threatening my family Sir, we're too young to keep it up like this, that's what they've been telling us."
"Sir with permission, with Jacob being involved in this and he's my best friend, he knows the details, as does Master Bra'tac, they and I are running the base in between their trips back to earth while the team are out there, but permission to have him as the second general leading here, when he comes to see us in between his missions..., yes thank you that works fine..., uh huh, yes I'll let you know and keep updated till I get the report this first mission was a success..., yes Sir, thank you, good day." he said into the phone as Dixon said it for all three of them.
"What he say Sir?" Dave asked him and he smiled dangerously as he hung up. " He's ordered that no one outside of the SGC be allowed to come into this base now. Aside from our offworld allies, and anyone coming from our future allies. He also said to give the computers a new security chip and a complete overall of the mainframe captain. Just like when we had the Reetou running loose in here, you do the same thing captain."
"Too bad we don't have anyone who's force sensitive here, they could tell who our rotten eggs are right now, aside from Vidrine, that bastard, he's so going to get it when the sextet hear about this later. He also said that as of now General Carter is back and working as my co-leader starting today, so you follow his orders like you follow my own boys." he said and they both nodded to the order. "Looks like he just threw out the fact that Sam is having her father as her supervisor, in addition to you and Jack, Sir."
"Well if this means we patch up that bond with him, we just gained a second chance here now. But enough of the technology grabbing, we have everything we need now, Daniel is our biggest shot at making sure nobody ever gets hurt. If twenty percent of the council, Qui-Gon and the guys get involved we got enough added help just to prevent anyone from getting hurt here when on duty, aside from a trip to the infirmary."
"But eighty percent of the base was here in the beginning and we all share that same thought now, I mean we have everything we need. We got the results, we just have to use it wisely, with that fact our brother is now a Jedi, and with that fact in mind we got a Jedi in the program now, we have everything we need, but we have to use it wisely now." Lou said and he nodded to him as the trio exchanged concerned looks then.
Have any of you ever considered why'd he want to quit the program though by this point, why he's sick to death of your attitude though Colonel, he's holding in a lot of anger at your treatment of him. And how long do you think a scientist can take this attitude you've been showing, before deciding this job and friendship isn't worth it anymore." they heard as a woman with gold eyes materialized in front of them.
"Who are you exactly?" Hailey asked and she smiled. "My name is Tahl, if you've read the novels you created about my mate and his Padawan, I'm the reason for his remark to Anakin in the Phantom Menace." she said and Hailey nodded. "Defenders of the Dead, Death of Hope and the Call To Vengeance, you're his best friend and it went from friendship to soulmates." she said and Tahl nodded gently to her.
"I am, Daniel went into counsel with my soulmate and Obi-wan and the memories that show up the most are regarding the symbiote killers, the mirror and Euronda and when this mission ends you're hearing from Qui-Gon next at the moment. But I suggest you get a different General in charge and enough of the attitude or he's going to want to stay in our galaxy, now tell me what's that going to do if your version of the Sith make an appearance?" she asked and Hammond swallowed at the remark.
That's going to kill us and our entire planet. Are you saying that Vidrine and Kinsey have nearly succeeded in driving him out of the program completely?" they heard and Lou looked over his shoulder to see Catherine Langford standing there. "Yes that's exactly what I mean, you chose Daniel for a specific reason, and yet Daniel is our representative to your planetary republic. If you wish him to remain, you should change now."
"Because at the current moment, he's among friends who understand him better than you seem to at the current moment, but though you claim to be like the Jedi, your actions speak louder than words. That you're choosing to flirt with the darkside at the current moment, advanced technology is not a toy general, and neither are his powers, if you want him to remain here on earth, I suggest you do it your way starting now."
"Otherwise you lose him and it's going to mean the extinction of your entire planet, if your current set of Sith realize their biggest opposition is no longer around. As you got a taste of that six years ago, maybe you should think on that, and think over why he was so valuable to you before, why your chancellor chose him for a specific reason. What was his job, before this general had the orders pouring in the door?" she asked him firmly.
"Whats she talking about General, what have you done to make him want to quit the program?" Catherine asked and Lou answered that question. "Ever since he found the quantum mirror and ran into your double's to save earth the orders started pouring in the door. It's been one giant request to start advancing and Hailey here just learned Vidrine is working for the NID." he said and she nodded with a furious look.
"I chose him, because he had massive potential General, why are you treating him like this, he doesn't deserve that attitude. I don't care what anyone says, but how long do think you every civilian in the program can take this treatment, before they decided that screw it, this isn't worth it anymore. 'If the military want to kill themselves, than the hell with it?" she asked and he nodded as he sighed as he got it.
"General staff meeting Doctor, should I report this to the sextet?" he asked and she nodded to him. "Yes and starting now I'm taking Daniel's place till they get back Sir, I can't go into the field anymore, but I can run the team, who's the civilian head of his team exactly?" she asked and Dixon answered that. "Anna Thompson Doctor, hang on." he said and spoke into his radio. "Cam send Anna up, and get up here." he said to him.
"Roger we're coming." he said and it went quiet. "Come on." Hammond said and she nodded as they went into his office as he got on the phone and called the pentagon. "General Jumper, yes hello, listen could you round up the quintet, there's something you need to know now Sir, and you're not going to like it. I'm calling a general staff meeting, regarding SG-1 and the NID and its code 325 high treason as well..., Yes thank you, see you in two hours." he said and grabbed the red phone.
"Mr. President sorry about this, but could you and your best bodyguards come here, I called for a general staff meeting and with you being our commander in chief, I think you deserve to know and why our chief archeologist is on the edge of quitting his job..., yes sir, two hours we'll be ready and thank you. See you shortly Sir." he said and hung up as Balinsky and Anna walked in as Lou did introductions then.
"Major Cameron Balinsky, Dr. Anna Thompson, this is Dr. Catherine Langford. Doctor, I'd like you to meet Cameron Balinsky and Anna Thompson. Guys she's your new boss till the quartet get back." he said and they nodded as Anna smiled. "It's an honor to meet you finally Doctor Langford, your father was my inspiration, as were you of getting into archeology." she said and Catherine smiled at the wording.
"Thank you Anna I appreciate that. Alright guys, with whatever orders to the quartet gave to you, I'm repeating now, but starting now we're running our job thoroughly, no leap logic just work hard and do what needs to be done understood." she said and they nodded to her as they waited for the sextet and the president to arrive and then two hours later they did and took their seats.
"What's going on George if you called us here?" Hank Landry asked him and he explained it. "We got a visit from Qui-Gon's mate in the order a bit ago. It seems that SG-1 has been chosen for a mission of very high importance, because in their galaxy the series is playing itself out right now. The Phantom Menace is playing itself out and Daniel's been chosen as his new bodyguard/big brother." he said and they sat up in shock.
"That galaxy is real, what's going on if they've been sent there exactly?" Jason Adams asked him and he smiled as he said it. "In exchange for helping protect Anakin from the emperor, Daniel's been chosen as the first of our planet to become a Jedi knight, and he's been sent there to start his training." he said and they nodded in amazement.
"George to repeat what I said before starting now, Jacob, when he comes here, is in charge along with you starting now. I also want a complete lockdown on that computer mainframe." the president said to him and he nodded to the orders. "George what's the other reason you called us here aside from telling us that?" James Vidrine asked and he looked at him angrily. "I think you already know the answer to that question general."
"During the course of that conversation Tahl dragged up several situations, the ones that shot up first were focused on the fact that we didn't listen to his warnings till they practically bit us on the ass, his drop attack saved earth. But that wasn't enough for you, he's gotten us five jackpots in two years and that's not enough for you either. His ideas save earth and get us good standing with every culture we meet, but it's not enough."
"And neither was the fact that we saved our alliance with the elder races, every time we don't listen to him, it nearly destroys the planet, we practically sold our souls to Hitler during the Euronda incident for advanced technology at the time. Their message to us is till we grow up we're not ready for advanced technology, Morrison tried to hold him hostage because he didn't want to lose his powers, and that nearly killed SG-1 on that mission before they left." he said and Jason Gates leaned forward then.
"I don't believe I'm hearing this, when I gave orders to you, general, I made it very specific at the time, it's R.D., science and cultural value at the time, I didn't say to start destroying lives for advanced technology. I agreed with Daniel that the science and cultural value of every mission was needed, who in here was ignoring my orders and turned this into a god damn arms race?" Hamilton said as he looked at the seven. "In all honesty here, we've, ever since the undercover mission Jack went on, had several drawbacks and things have only gotten worse from there." Vidrine said and Landry looked at him with a furious look on his face.
"Yeah and who's fault is that exactly James, you don't give him enough time, and neither do they to work out a diplomatic solution here. Daniel said it himself, he's a Jedi, a Jedi you've been treating like crap ever since the raid on board those ships five years ago. He's gotten us twenty scores in three years and that's not enough for you. If I was you I'd back off and let him do the mission the way it's supposed to be done, time and patience works better than screwing around with technology we know nothing about, let alone getting involved in wars we know nothing about, he's trying to keep us from killing ourselves here, why not listen to him more." he said to him with an icy look.
"Sir the six of us followed your orders to a T, but someone here is screwing with Daniel's mandate right now and now I'd like to know who it is. Because evidently that's why he ascended last year, he lost the will to fight, because they're too busy burning bridges instead of building them right now." Jumper told him and he nodded to him as Vidrine felt his heart fall at that, knowing he was screwed now as he answered his remark then. "Okay so you've been following my orders to a T', but they haven't and the results are now my best archeologist is now on the edge of resigning from the program, alright, whose fault is this exactly?" Hamilton asked sternly and Vidrine swallowed.
"You agreed with Dr. Jackson?" Vidrine repeated and Lou heard the fear in his voice. "Yes I agree with Dr. Jackson that time and patience works better than rushing right into things General, that diplomacy takes time and patience. Something that no soldier ever shows, he's got the patience, the ingenuity and the discipline that nobody, in any branch, ever showed General and he's the best archeologist and diplomat we have to offer."
"Daniel wanted us to focus on the Culteral and science value of every mission. Their situation with the touched virus, he figured out what it was and Frasier took over. And I agreed with him and ordered he was to run the civilian department. Daniel was and is my best archeologist, he deserves more respect and trust than what you been showing him, he's far more valuable to us now, he's a Jedi, long before he ever became a Jedi."
"He's our new Jedi master, so before we do anything, when they get back, maybe we should turn it to him, rather than doing anything, we always have our hands on the future and they have to destroy it to save their own lives. If that's the reason you're refusing to let him do his job, and stealing, than it's ending right now." Hamilton said to him coldly and he swallowed as Hailey smiled dangerously at him.
"At the moment this is shoving Daniel into quitting his job Mr. President." Hailey told him and he slammed his hand on the table. "Nice work you idiot, you realize what that could do if he decides that 'screw it, if we don't need him, than we can keep this up till it destroys us.', Adam and I chose his mandate for him James, he's my chief supervisor, my ambassador for the races, who in here is refusing to let him get his job done?" he snapped angrily at him.
"Before I tell you that Sir, I suggest we let him run the hardball, he's got a better chance of insuring we survive than doing what we have been doing." Lou said and Gates leaned forward. "What do you suggest here?" he asked and before Hammond could answer him a flash appeared and Tahl arrived then, and then Charlie arrived right behind him. "I'll answer that General. Sir to be the fifth race we have to grow up, Daniel has done that, but we haven't and until we do they'll never offer their technology."
"My brother is in training to become a Jedi master, both powers together can save the Galaxy, but he'll only offer to help you if you end this attitude. We're in a war to save the planet, but our planet is not the only planet that matters, just like the USA is not the country that matters, we're not in the Cold War era anymore we have to grow up and be smart about how we use this technology." he said and Landry answered him.
"James he's right, you never treated him like an equal, he maybe a civilian, but he's the best archeologist we have in the program, he's also the head of the civilian department, we have to change our attitudes now, before it kills us, his drop attack plan saved the planet, he brokered the deal to save Teal'C, and we got some new planetary allies out of that, he brokered the deal through Chaka and that gained us access to the naquada to make the F-302's, and now he's got the ability to destroy Anubis."
"It's time we laid off the advanced technology grabbing we already got everything we need, but we need to be smart in how to use it as of now. Son when are you coming back?" he asked and he explained it. "Not long after they do sir, I'm going to be keeping my powers, but like him, I will only offer to help build the equipment, as long as you use it wisely. Jack's gained a lesson in humility, now all of you have to do the same."
"Our command was created on a set of values that you undermined when you threw out your morality for the sake of advanced technology at Euronda and you threw Sha're in his face at the time when you did that, that's as cruel as you could get here, do you want him going evil, turning to the Darkside just to protect earth or do you want him to stay the way he is, because that's the only way we can protect the entire galaxy and the entire universe, because he's more than he used to be." Charlie said to him and he paled at that as he remembered the reprimand he gave Edwards at the time.
"Daniel shows respect for whichever species he comes across, your decision could have killed the mining team if he hadn't been there to talk to the Unas that day, while you see him as just a civilian, an outsider, because you and the members at this table are the joint chiefs of staff. He's been working at making sure we never kill ourselves, because we're soldiers, but that decision to throw her in his face, to make a point, is like using Jack's son against him, to make a point here and with that in mind."
"Daniel's not a violent man, but he, like everyone on the planet, has a Darkside, we saw that Darkside show itself twice, once when he had to relive the memory of his parents death, and you sent them on that mission, before she could to talk him about it and get him to open up and he got addicted to the sarcophagus technology just to bury the pain, the second is the dream when Shifu passed him that knowledge."
"Do you have any idea how dangerous off world technology can be, because the touchstone resulted in an El Niño effect five years ago here in the US, the devices needed to kill symbiotes put him the hospital, because you thought he suffered schizophrenia, the mirror needed to be destroyed so we had nobody else logging into our galaxy that way when mine and Sam's counterparts ended up here in our reality."
"Everything we've dealt with only made it more clear that the devices that those aliens created resulted in framing Jack for attempted murder, and finally the Naquadria, you rather he get thrown to the wolves than lose that type of power, your best archeologist, a man who would get what was needed to be done and had this base working so smoothly that every member working here respected and trusted him with their lives and friendship, every soldier on the base sees him as an equal, and a brother."
"So tell me, what's that say about you generals and the pentagon and the US military, if you won't listen to someone who spent eighteen months living off world and was doing advanced studies into what you needed when they're working in civil services and he needs information in how to properly do his job, because by sending that mark five to Abydos you could have destroyed the entire planet just to destroy Ra, and in total there were seven billion people on that planet."
"You did it again when Bauers sent that naquada enhanced bomb to a planet surface, enriched with naquada in the soil, you wiped out another planet doing that, to put it bluntly, when you don't let him, or us, do our jobs properly, you destroy lives instead of saving them, Euronda was a classic example of this, we didn't have all the information and when Daniel wanted to dig a little deeper you refused to put things on hold for six hours, just because you wanted technology."
"Your pressuring for results had changed Jack into a mindless soldier wanting the brass ring, every time you don't listen to him or give him a chance to do some digging or even pressure Jack for more, you destroy lives, so tell me, what's this say about what you're turning into, because we're the youngest of the countries on this planet, and where it will lead if you don't change your ways?" Charlie asked him and he swallowed at that and the way he said that as he exchanged looks at the quartet. What it said about the military was nothing good at all, they were fighting a war, but destroying lives to do it.
"We're in a war yes, but to win it, maybe you should think about the families you're affecting here, Boyd's for one, Connor, Jenkins, Philips, Jefferson, Brody, Walters, Barber, Boyd's team-mates, Caroline, Jefferson, Williams, and so on, while Lou was in recovery, Daniel, Jack and I were getting ready to go on our first true mission together as a trio, before I got turned into a host, losing me hit him hard, because barely a week and he loses three people he cares about,, but did you care about that, no you didn't."
"All you cared about at the time back then was finding some way to fight the Goa'uld, Daniel's the youngest of us originals, we see him in a way no soldier, in any branch, let alone civilian branch, does, because we see him in his acts of genius, and here's the catch. We've lost seventy seven people in seven years, because you want advanced technology, these people are not just numbers, they're members of this command, every team we lost we had to replace, but mine and Jack's, we're the leaders of the teams, because we've seen what it is we're fighting, you haven't, Hammond saw what we deal with."
"He's dealt with it himself, though he doesn't go into the field any more he helps when he needs to, when the quartet got trapped by the Taldor, he went to negotiate with them to let them go, he's still works in the shooting range, he's part diplomat himself, he even helped when the replicators started running amok all over the base here. He's the leader of this command and we all respect him and see him as our mentor, Sam's father is the exact same way, he takes the job seriously, but he's an older member of the race helping us now, and with that fact in mind here, Sir, we need to change our protocols now."
"Sir when I get back, Jack is my commander, but it's time he gets promoted, you and General Carter lead the base, he's the leader of all the teams, and Lou, Sam and I are his seconds in command, SG units 1 and 2 can and will work concurrently together, like you wanted us to." Charlie said to him and Lou nodded in agreement to his statement.
Before he could answer two more flashes appeared in the room and two young men appeared and he smiled. "Sir I'd like you to meet David Brown and Dillon Freeman, that's the rest of our sextet, Adam and Rick decided on the same thing, but for Daniel this is just going to heal him further by having our entire team working here at the base, but we're acting like we used to, and the quartet can be your next two teams."
"But every member of our original team here, and several friends from Catherine's department that covers his life here at the base, he's able to work to his peak and we can get the mission taken care with next to no casualties, because five of us have the added ascended abilities and Daniel's a Jedi Padawan about to start his training at the moment." he said to him and Hammond looked at him at his idea.
"Promoted, you mean he should take on being the leader of the entire SG-team system, while Jake and I lead from here and he reports to us, while the team commanders report to him, if he's here, and you guys working together at all times?" Hammond asked him. "Yes that's exactly what I mean Sir, though Jack's not ready to retire from the field yet, while he's off world, our units can work together as the original SG-1 and 2."
"Dave, Jason or Paul act as second in command here, but they're under his command as he's they're equal as a special ops General, we got our own SG-team system here, and he's leading and training our new recruits, while doing his job as SG-1's leader, while our original unit is put back together and we can make sure no one else is killed this way, besides this gives us a chance to be a whole team again."
"If Anubis comes to earth looking for the lost city, the four of us are together, and Anakin, Obi-wan, Mace, and Qui-Gon are with us aboard the cargo ship, we can work out every detail together of getting our teams back, take down Anubis and fix the problems that have Kinsey breathing down our necks, simply by having the four of us working on it, andDaniel is more powerful than a human now, he can withstand it."
"Kinsey is out of his mind out of fear, so we show him up by doing our jobs, he's got it stuck in his mind that the gate is a Pandora's box and doing business with the devil, temptation never works, so we do the job honestly and we can fix every problem we have." he said and Hammond nodded as Landry answered him at that idea.
"That's not a bad idea Charlie, if you want to work with your friends together, the original SG unit can work together and Jack leads all of you while we promote George and Jake to three stars and you and Sam to Lieutenant Colonel and the four of you can lead the teams, because the six of you were the original team, while Jack leads as a one star." Landry said and the quartet of generals nodded and he sighed as he looked at them.
"Sir, this is needed here, we lose a man and it affects us badly, because we're team leaders in the field off world, and we're the ones who have to tell their family that their fathers or brothers went into the field and were killed in action. While others are stuck and trapped off world, like Hank Boyd for one, we have a way to get SG-10 back, but we will only give it to you if you stop this, Daniel can save them, Connor and his team and get you what you want if you give him the chance to be who he's meant to and let him do his job, because everything that happened that wasn't in the files is in his memories."
"As to how, during an off world mission three years ago, he met the Tok'ra queen Egeria and changed her past by changing her from a Goa'uld to a Tok'ra, he can heal the ranks of the Tok'ra, he can heal our issues with our allies here, all five off world allies need help, and he and I can do that, and with back up, like his friends in the Jedi order, they can give us a serious advantage, and to top it off we know everything that can help them, simply because the ancients have been around for three million years."
"Daniel and I have the keys to that to win the war, because I'm descending when they get back, and I'm keeping my knowledge and powers, and their leaders can help us, but only if you stop treating them like their second class citizens, the Jaffa see him as a friend, and trust him to lead them, Egeria loves him, but their bond is that of friendship, Daniel is more than he used to be, if you give us a chance we can save earth and protect the entire galaxy from an enemy more dangerous than anything you've seen here."
"But our allies are needed for that, and Daniel and I are the key to saving them and that's two allies, Thor, he's able to fix their cloning problems, simply by getting in touch with the Kaminoans so they can live forever, that's three and the Tollan and Nox, he's gained their respect, they see him as an equal, and that's five, he's got five friends from each group we encountered and Chaka is number six, so with that in mind, let him be who he is and not who you want him to be."
"He's a Jedi, even before he gained his powers he was acting as a Jedi, he's our chosen one, but his prophecy is more dangerous than Anakin is, because he has to face a few memories that he did, his final test is facing the knowledge of that dream he wrote the report about, that's his trial to become a Jedi Master and with that he's facing what he did in that memory, because you were hounding him for results in that dream."
"Now here's the dangerous part General, but by asking him to give it to you back then you could have turned him into a Goa'uld then, or in this case a Sithlord, you could have unleashed our version of Vader on the entire galaxy, and this was before he gained his Jedi and ancient powers, now imagine him with them and the knowledge gets unleashed." he said and they all paled at that as Vidrine said it for all of them in shocked disbelief as he remembered all the times he'd seen Daniel and the way Daniel reacted around him, like he was just another clueless General, but showed Hammond respect.
"Are you saying we nearly turned him into a Sithlord when we asked to look at the Goa'uld information?" Vidrine said in shock and he nodded. "Yes that's exactly what I'm saying, Daniel's a Jedi, to put it for a better word here, he's our version of Anakin Skywalker, he's so loaded with power it could cause him to go either way, he's stays in the light and he's the protector of our galaxy, and we got a Jedi master working here, working with our offworld allies, saving our teams and being a champion of the force."
"He falls to the Darkside and we got another Anubis running loose in the galaxy, that's the danger now, and his Achilles heel happens to be my original unit, Sam, Teal'C, the general, Janet and Cassie, as well as myself, and Doctor Langford, as well as his friends of the other galaxy, we get taken and he does a Vader and takes on powers even more deadly than anything we seen so far. His dream was what would have happened if he'd fallen to the Darkside and he destroys Russia by taking control of the weapon."
"You were the general in that dream, we advance as does the other country and it keeps up like that till we destroy each other, that's the message that Omoc gave us, Omoc is gone and there is only a select few of Tollan left in the galaxy, Narim happens to be one of them, Joe Faxon is still alive, as is SG-10 and 11. Give him a chance here to do his job, we can change their numbers to 24 and 25, our off world allies will be satisfied here, we can save Joe. Altogether, every loose end that wasn't tied up before will be now."
"You get results and we can protect the planet, but in truth here, General Hammond's got more respect for him than you do, he spent seven years as the leader of the program, saw him in his acts of genius: finding the second gate, saving us when Apophis tried to take us out, sacrificed his life to save Kelowna, negotiate the treaty with the Unas, get us the device that helped us with the Krull soldiers, gain his powers to save the team twice, and so on, what was it you were doing that entire time, huh?" he asked and the quartet exchanged looks at the reprimand as Jumper answered him gently.
"Alright Son hold it right there, though we couldn't break the IOA's order, we ordered a semi covert mission regarding the attack on us five years ago, the sarcophagus was another he destroyed the damn thing. He's gotten us twenty five scores in three years and that's out of his diplomatic abilities, but he's more valuable to us than all of the science department combined, simply because he's got the gift of being a Jedi and ambassador."
"To me, that's enough of a reason now, but this constant request for more technology is not coming from the five of us, it's coming from James here. The real help and aid are coming because of Daniel. If we'd asked Daniel to go undercover he'd do it in a heartbeat, because he's got the skills to do it without being killed, he's like the Jedi and Tok'ra in being unseen and acting like he really turned on you." he said and she looked at him smiling.
"Thank you General and yes you are right, that's part of our job, we go on missions undercover all the time, we..., okay what was your mandate to Daniel specifically exactly?" she asked and he explained that to her. "Determine threats of Alien technology, make peaceful relations of the cultures we visit and do added digging if there was an unseen threat we can't deal with, but he could. Daniel's been doing that ever since he found the mirror, he also said he heard a voice in that situation." he said and she nodded to him and got started.
"I think I better explain that, auditory hallucinations, visual ones, he's having premonitions and is connecting to us on the other side of the universe. The said voice he heard was Qui-Gon when he was directing that cruiser closer to the second, his force abilities were activating one by one that day and the previous two weeks. But Bra'tac was training him in the way we do so with our own padawans, Daniel was a six year year old padawan in this situation, in five years he gained the knowledge and know how to join the force."
"But the woman that appeared out of nowhere, the woman in question he saw was me. Though I'm a Jedi, I'm a member of the living force group, we mind the future, though we keep our concentration on the here and now where it belongs. What Qui-Gon's look alike said about his character is true though, he's a bit of a maverick, but he's a wonderful Jedi and a good and kind friend, as to that we were chosen, in addition to the council."
"To be his mentors and train him ourselves, in this situation I was really preparing him to face his greatest task, destroying a highly powerful superweapon without giving into his anger and hate of the Sith. Here's the bad news in that scenario though Admirals, Chancellor, but he'd gotten hijacked by the Sith that was influencing Luke's young protege in this series." she said flashing up the book trilogy and giving it to him and Hamilton.
"That's why he was beyond traumatized in that scenario at the time, why didn't he say anything?" Janet asked and Jumper answered that. "Because you were already considering him to be mentally unstable, before you turned him over to McKenzie at that time Doctor." he said to her sternly. "General Vidrine do you know the meaning of the word humility, virtue and truth of spirit, let alone grace, wisdom, selflessness?" Tahl asked and he nodded.
"Well a man fighting to save millions doesn't sacrifice their virtues for the brass ring, by not looking at things below the surface, you could have sold your souls to the Devil, or unleashed your version of Vader on the entire galaxy, in two situations, in each situation. By not listening to him you could have destroyed yourselves. It's time you saw what he really thinks here." he said and Charlie flashed up a globe then to display his memories.
Before he could answer him though an image flashed in front of them. 'I don't believe this, what do I have to do to get them to understand how serious this, we shut down and we're screwed, gate or no gate they'll wipe us out, damn it Jack, your attitude is unbecoming of your rank, Sam I thought we went over the think-outside-the-box metaphor here, just because you can't touch it doesn't make it any more real than anything else studied in science, my plans can protect the entire planet, as to how."
"The tactical plans are scientifically fit, but if you don't choose to do this you'll kill us all, we were created to protect earth and we were to think of this as a giant chessboard, I once said that to survive you look beneath the surface, that's your first lesson in training here, but you have to listen to a civilian to survive as well to and with that, General."
"Sir, please, you're my only chance here, give me five days, and be on alert no matter what, Lou, you know me, I may have been through several traumatic experiences, but I never let you down, if dying is the only option to prove I've been right all along I'm doing that to protect earth.' they heard as they watched him pack his pack in possible preparation for the surgical attack and and Hammod felt a jolt go through him.
"That's his first message to us now, we were indoctrinated by our training, that we threw aside our old lives of being civilians here." Charlie said to them and they exchanged looks then. "You better hear his thoughts of the aftermath of the addiction to the sarcophagus here General, his guilt over disappointing you Sir, because he respects you more than you think here." Charlie said to Hammond and he nodded to that.
"God, my friendship with the seven is all that matters to me, I didn't think I had that type of Darkside in me, sir I'm sorry, I tried my hardest to get them out as soon as possible, give me another chance please, I'll never disappoint you again. You replaced my father, just give me a chance to prove I can get my job done. So long as I have you guys with me, I'll never be in that position again, but I never want to have to relive another memory that would cause this a second time."
"If I do, get Janet to keep me home, so I can open up to her first, she's my doctor, only she and Warner knows what's best in my case, physically and emotionally, if I need counseling I can talk to them and while the trio are out in the field than I'll go join them. But this cannot happen twice or it could kill us." he heard and he nodded to that request.
"That's from your refusal to give them two weeks off generals, if it hadn't been for you, he'd never would have been put through that." Charlie growled angrily and they swallowed at that as Landry answered him, before he could though Adams said it for him, with a furious look in his eyes at that. "We're not the ones to send the team there, someone else did Charlie." Adams said to him and they exchanged looks at that.
"Just drop the act boys, it's time to tell him the truth." Hamilton told him and they nodded. "George, Daniel was under orders to fake this the whole time, he was working undercover, while they were captured by the Taldor, we had Paul Davis working undercover, in the NID and he heard they gained intelligence on a planet that had one. The planet was Shyla's home planet and when they got back from Dalaris, which was the keeper's planet."
"We called him and Teal'C to the White House, for a meeting and Davis debriefed us in it, like he said if it meant insuring no one got hit by the technology as wel, if it was malfunctioning, he had to risk it, and with that our second one mission for him. Our orders were demonstrate the side effects of what the device does, and when recovered destroy the damn thing, he was under orders by us and the president on four occasions, this, the Symbiote Killers, the mirror and Euronda." Jumper told him and she stood up at that in shock.
"Wait that was an undercover mission?" Janet repeated and they nodded. "Yes, and it was at my request that he showed us the side effects so I could prevent it from being sent to Area 51 and have someone exposed in the way he was to it. Daniel determined my requests, I've been on the phone with him ever since he returned to active duty and he and I developed a close friendship as a result and with those words in mind here, he was doing me a favor."
"He did the job I asked him to do Major, but evidently he did it too well if that was the beginning of the end of your trust if he ended up in the emergency room after the situation with the symbiote killers that Machello left us. Well Bill Warner sent me the test results of that incident as well Major, I taught you better than this." Lieutenant General, Doctor, Darrel Matheson said to her as he walked into the room and sat between Jumper and Gates as he looked at the duo sternly and she swallowed at the news as Hammond said it for her.
"Why didn't you tell me that Sir?" he asked and they all crossed their arms then. "Like you ordered Jack to not tell them, the trio, the truth till the end of his mission, we ordered Daniel and Teal'C to do the same thing. In our eyes out of the quartet, we find Daniel and Teal'C far more valuable then the duo together, the duo are too impulsive, Jack landed him in that device and that begins his mandate."
"Daniel did his entire mission and reported to us face to face, and he said that Jack tried an escape that didn't work, and the guard shot out the roof right above him and it caused a cave in. Twenty broken bones, three damaged internal organs, Jack landed Daniel in that device and it's because of his recklessness. Samantha is just beginning to get used to her abilities of being blended with this Jolinar."
"So in my eyes, they're both a liability, we, as military, don't have the time or patience to plan pull outs when one of our teams are captured, but Daniel was taking it slow while Jack was rushing him. Though Daniel was drugged that night, he still followed our orders, and those orders were see how potent the side effects were, play along and pretended the device turned him to the darkside."

If someone had stolen the second gate and was using it in the way Maybourne had been doing."

Gates told him and he swallowed.
"Though you did what I wanted you to George, you barely missed breaking my orders by not allowing him to return to finish his mandate, that's why he came up to talk to the four of you. Teal'C saw the intention, it was time to finish the mission, by getting you to give him a chance to recover from the addiction, he was, after you let him on light duty, he came to see us and told us the side effects."
"He also reported on a device that is like the Sun Crusher in the books, loaded with stargates and when checking out the coordinates in it's navi-computer he found it had the coordinates of every planet in range of a black hole that was orbiting a sun. This planet belonged to one of the deities of Ancient Egypt, and his scientist was recreating the technology that this woman in this trilogy created."
"You any idea what the NID would do if they found it?" Jumper asked him and he swallowed at the news as she paled at that. "Why didn't he tell me that?" he asked and she swallowed at the news as Hailey explained to him. "Because he tells Jack and Sam, they tell you, you tell Vidrine and they get their hands on it and it's an act of manslaughter 1,000fold. So he was trying to prevent it at all costs Sir. What's the one option left to take to prevent that weapon from winding up in their hands." she said to him and Jumper nodded in agreement.
"She's right George as a Jedi padawan the greater good came first. Daniel is a Jedi of the living force, though a young one, it's still enough that a Jedi in that mode can fall to either side if something is tampering with their morality. And secondly, it's an act of protecting the greater good, hundreds of billions of lives in this galaxy, human, Goa'uld, Tok'ra, Jaffa. In his his eyes he wasn't being hold responsible for the deaths of billions, just so we can end this."
"That's the act of thinking about the welfare of an entire galaxy, you understand just why Daniel never told you about that weapon. You failed us once by agreeing with Vidrine to start stealing from the Salish, and listening to his opinions, well to him if it meant the welfare of the entire galaxy and every person in it. If they had to suffer two weeks, than it was so be it, he wasn't being held accountable for the deaths of billions just to save us." Gates told him.
"And with those words you're not the only planet that matters, he was protecting the greater good by preventing that technology from falling into the hands of your Sith Version, the Galactic Empire. Daniel is just like me and my peers the Jedi council, my mate, and our friends, he had a choice and decided it's not worth treason." Tahl added to him. "She's right about that too. Compared to most, that type of power must be kept out of their hands."
"Let alone ours, like the device Orlin was fooling around with, just another example of the dangerous technology and he chose the greater good over advancing, again." Jumper said to him and he swallowed as he answered him then, feeling his heart sink. "We're at war and now you're telling me that you'd rather not have technology that powerful, why exactly?" Hammond asked the eight and Jumper stood up at that as he he answered him sternly.
"Because we're the Rebellion Alliance George, we don't kill like this, we go to war we're not using symbiote poison, get involved in wars we know nothing about or steal technology from our friends from the other races we've met these last ten years and we lost two planets in ten years, because of the NID and the Goa'uld. As to that believe me when I say that if it's up to us and every planet in our version of the Galactic Republic, we'd all agree that device needs to be destroyed before the Goa'uld get their hands on it, let alone the trust."
"So what choice does that leave when he found that weapon and realized what damage it could do if he ever told you about it." She said to him and he slumped into the chair as he said it, feeling like a fool for not seeing this from the very beginning. "He needed to destroy the coordinates to the planet and the sarcophagi, before Maybourne got his hands on those things and prevent us from nearly killing billions just to save earth." Hammond said and they all nodded to him firmly.
"Exactly, that's why he left it out of his report to you, and came directly to us, our orders were getting the settlement finished, than destroy the coordinates of that planet and rip them out of the dialing computer. He just saved hundreds of billions of lives by not telling you about it at the time and finished the mission. Because the NID were getting so unscrupulous there was no line they weren't willing to cross."
"And we gave him his next three missions, starting with Mckenzie, and from there it lead to them stealing technology from the Salish, and the Medronans. You got the results of that by saying that to Connors looks a like and it's you got greedy George. Daniel did some diplomacy and that kept us out of trouble with them and he decided on going to another planet for the trinium, before we got the news that Maybourne was stealing technology from Medrona and he did what I asked."
"But your trying to follow James's orders is putting you deeper into that hole, by demotion at the moment. As you can see the damage here, by your mistakes, you just broke our orders and it tears a hole in your friendship as a result. The duo show just what time and patience does for you, when we had the summit here on the base." Gates told him firmly and he swallowed as Matheson finished that.
"During the meeting after the raid, Daniel did say that he could sound and act like the culture he's working with and we decided to put that to the test when we got intel regarding the malfunctioning sarcophagus. Daniel was acting, but everything he was doing during that situation with the sarcophagus was actually meant to tell you he was working undercover, Teal'C knew what he was doing because he was with him, when we met in secret two days, before they shipped out."
"As the general said he was ordered to demonstrate the side effects and then destroy the device, but you took his performance so seriously that you stopped trusting him since. And like him, I was trying to prevent that device from landing someone in the psyche unit, let alone catch Mckenzie, he was guilty of treason by being involved in our opposition, but you ignored my orders and took his performance literally. In our eyes that says you don't deserve that promotion at the moment if you break our orders that fast George, Doctor, on three occasions."
"Yes Daniel acted out, but it was to get you to focus on that real threat, he demonstrated the dangers of that technology to me and I decided, forget it, there is no way in hell we're allowing that thing here on earth. As to why he acted out at the time, it was because he found a superweapon, just like the starfighter that kid used to destroy solar systems and he reported it directly to us, the exact same ramifications." Matheson told him firmly and he swallowed as she answered him.
"That's why he was trying everything he could to get us to remove him from active duty, to prevent those devices from ending up in NID hands?" Janet asked, feeling herself shaking and they nodded to her as he answered her. "Yes it is Doctor. As if that's not enough, after you treated him Janet, he came to me for counseling and I told him my next situation and it's regarding McKenzie and thus begins the situation with the tablet and the symbiote killers, as well as Teal'C and Mckenzie."
"I had a mole in my network and you fell right into the trap that the NID wanted you to make as well, he was under orders to investigate Mckenzie as well. Just what the hell is the matter with you, can't you read the message here, I believe his exact words were 'we can't just leave it there, we got to study it' to Sam and 'you're the clueless one, you never show me any respect' to Jack, well here's the translation of what he's really trying to say."
'Sir, guys, I'm acting, just focus on what I'm really trying to say here', or are you so determined to join the ranks of our allies that you're willing to sell your souls to the devil, he was undercover, orders given to him by the sextet and me. Damnit Major, you could have killed him, he was under my orders to do digging on McKenzie, but you took his performance so literally that this could have killed him and us!" General Matheson snapped at him and Janet sternly then.
"General I didn't know Sir!" she told him quickly and he crossed his arms. "He classified the situation regarding the sarcophagus to the Jedi Academy trilogy, labeling himself as that kid, but believe me, if I was in your place I would take that far more seriously, because he was in emotional turmoil and it takes facing off against Apophis to drain that anger in his head at the time." he told her firmly as Charlie answered that remark then, his voice loaded with brotherly concern.
"Why do you suppose he weakened himself at the time, the attempt was to put himself into a healing trance so he could go into a mental showdown with his alter ego and again so he could face off against either a Sithlord or just the Goa'uld that started this." he added firmly with a stern tone and Charlie answered that. "I took care of that actually, I took the form of Apophis and forced him to fight me, but he refused to give into his anger and then I revealed myself and believe me, he was more than thrilled at seeing me again finally and as to why that is."
"I happen to be his best friend as well Dr. Matheson." Charlie told him and he nodded. "Emotional recovery and force testing, that helps in this case, and if you'd bothered to focus on the fact he was just beginning his training this late you'd see the signs for what they are here major. Instead of listening to McKenzie, because Daniel's abilities as a Jedi were activating one by one at the time, and I knew this."
"But he said that his acting worked, but evidently it worked so well, that you stopped trusting him and placed him under scrutiny, simply because he briefly lost control, if he'd been the kid or the Solo twin's friend, it would have killed him, and he'd have to face working over time. Now, if you'd bothered to pay attention to his remarks to you, you'd see his acting for what it was, acting, he never turned on us, he was undercover, doing what I asked him to do, to ensure what happened to him never happens to anyone else."
"But since then, I'd be annoyed you're not taking the dangers seriously enough or listening to him till the danger practically breaks down the front door George. As to why Doctor, you never listen to him, because you still think in a logical way major. But there are no logics when it comes to being a Jedi, in fact, nothing about this job makes sense, since he activated the gate, this has turned into Starwars."
"We're working in a program that brings new meaning to the space program, our space program is that gate, I don't go through that gate, but I understand that danger. But your problem is that you're not looking at this from his angle, but still as though nothing we learned from the movies ever came forward, you've seen with your own eyes how dangerous alien technology gets and you disobeyed my orders while listening to a quack that is involved with your opposition."

"Major, being a medical doctor means you take risks, but if one of your patients is this gifted, it doesn't mean he's schizophrenic, he's just a lot more powerful than you think, and instead of taking it more seriously you listen to a quack."
" That quack has been illegally looking at classified information regarding your patients and selling it to the NID, and I ordered him to run a second raid for me and it revealed that the psychiatrist you turned to is working for the opposition, you barely missed killing him when you turned him over to mental health doctor. He checked out Daniel's files and came up with that hypothesis to get you to relinquish control of the gate and the NID could replace you with their own."
"But Daniel turned the tables on them by saying if he ever tried that twice he was turning him over to us. Strike two, Daniel was working on orders of checking into why they're not giving us a straight answer regarding the war and he comes to us, and I told him to do some more digging and if that technology does neuro damage pull the plug and report back to us, because I'm not risking it being radioactive."
"It takes having the truth thrown in your faces that we're about to get involved in a blood war, just where is your common sense here George, we don't get involved in other people's wars till we know more and even then we just give help, we don't voluntary get behind the damn guns and kill someone. Let alone we don't give out gas to throw on the flames to turn it into a bonfire and explosion."
"I believe his exact words were 'their planet is in flames and we're offering gasoline, yeah that helps.', to be blunt its humanitarian aid only George, we don't take a gift without looking at the ulterior motives for it. You could have slaughtered group who are fighting to survive, and are in a war, simply because they're like us a mixed racial group, I've never been more disgusted or disappointed here."
"Strike three, he has to fight it out with a bunch of trained samurai, because your officers are too stubborn to let him work, and this causes him to take a life, killing by katana is enough that it would take a long time to get over it, and it's because none of you trust him. He left to join MacDougal and the dig site and it's because of you: you, Jack, Sam, and Doctor Frasier, he needed a chance to unwind."
"Not just from the killing in cold blood and self defense, but because you turned him into a recluse at the time, him on the other side of the fence, him being treated like crap, because you're not listening to him and it's all because you don't trust him anymore. You saw the results when he ascended and in this, we don't get results done right, results are coming five times slower than normal."

If you'd just focus on this, after the first time he resigned, you wouldn't be at risk of losing him again. And it's because if he decides to not come back and the darkside is going to destroy us, out of your cluelessness and greed, and at the moment he can't control his powers."
"It's been what, two months since his powers reactivated and suddenly not only does he get us several more scores, but he's now in training to control what premonitions he's been having from this. But let me make it clear now, every time he did his job we had gotten results, with you not being patient enough we're on the edge of losing friends and allies and enough is enough." he said to them sternly and Hammond quickly answered him.
Before he could say it a memory flashed up. 'Hey Sirs, good to see you again, Doctor Matheson, what was it you needed to see me about exactly?" Daniel asked and he smiled as he and the sextet got started then. "How are you doing son, since you were put back on light duty?" he asked and he sighed. "Not so good, the damn side effects are more potent than you'd expect, to put this bluntly, if you recall the Jedi Academy trilogy, that's me in terms of facing a menace I never wanted at the moment, though Charlie took care of it, but its enough I never want to have to do it twice."
"Like I said I'm Luke, but here's the bad news, but my life the last year and a half resulted in this trilogy I just mentioned, not only am I Luke, I've just deal with a memory I don't need right now and I see my brother, who was taken from me by the very parasite that is the core of my anger at the moment. To answer the unasked question the parasite in question is Apophis, he's my very of that long dead Sith, and I'm now play that kid and Luke rolled into one."
"I may have released that anger, but I still have to destroy that device, and I got to face that memory, bh destroying the damn thing, but now every ounce of hatred I have is pointed directly at Apophis, though he's dead, it doesn't matter. Sir, facing my alter ego nearly killed me once, I can't go through it again." he told him and they all nodded as Matheson answered him gently.
"That's the only time we ask you to deal with the damn thing son, I promise, but right now, I need some help, I've got a mole in my team who's digging through the personal records of civilians and I have reason to believe it's Dr. Mckenzie, if you could pull another undercover operation with this. You said your abilities can pick up deception so if you get infected with something and another premonition happens, that's all we need, especially if Teal'C is the target this time."
"But if this happens I want you to bring in Jacob if he's a host by this point. That's all I need to know to ensure I just found my mole, and get him into Quid Pro Quo. Before he tried it twice. If you could do that for me I'd appreciate it, it may take up to a year, but just ensure he can't hurt anyone else, because I have reason to believe he's working for the NID." he said and Hamilton finished up then.
"So far we've had the occasional issue, but if technology starts going missing that belongs to our allies, or if George starts taking orders from someone not like us, it's time to ignore what they say and do this as a Jedi, you're my Jedi master, I need you Doctor Jackson. To that end you're going against their orders but you're doing it by the horse's mouth, by me and the pentagon." he said to him gently.
"Yes Sir, I'll take the jobs and I will insure that if these guys start straying from what the movies had to teach us, that you get the results done right. I promise, this is to insure you remain in control, you can count on me, my loyalty is to you and I will insure our program stays in the lightside at all costs." she heard and covered her eyes then at the news as he looked at her as he said it sternly to them.
"You see he was trying to prevent us from making a mistake and destroying not only our planet but the entire galaxy by keeping that technology out of our hands." Jumper said to them and Charlie and Tahl smiled. "Well Daniel's finished off the first half of that mission by destroying the sarcophagi, but he's got to destroy the Sun Crusher to finish it and that's going to involved getting SG-10 and bringing them home." Charlie said and they nodded.
