Disclaimer: Nope still no Pokémon for me lol sadly
Misty woke with a start in the Black City Pokemon Center; today was the day that Dawn would be leaving with Kenny and she was terribly excited for her to leave the group of friends. However, she still couldn't help feeling happy for the air headed bluenette . That didn't mean she was sad to see Dawn go; Dawn was always over Ash and she hated seeing it, it was infuriating. Misty was surprised that she so willingly decided to go with Kenny since she was clinging to Ash like a Muk in the sewers. Misty looked around the suite that the group of friends had gotten last night, everyone seemed to still be asleep so, Misty continued to lounge on the bed she was sharing with May and Iris. There were three beds in the room and a good amount of floor space however, Brock, Max, Ash and, Cilan were all squeezed onto one bed because Dawn tried, to no avail, to accompany Ash in the same bed. So, when no one was looking the other three boys jumped into bed and quickly fell asleep to Dawn's displeasure. No one else wanted to bunk with Dawn nor did she want to share with anyone so, she was sprawled out on her own bed with Piplup close to her head. Misty scoffed in her head at how high maintenance she was. Misty's eyes drifted back to the bed that was next to hers, May's and Iris's that harbored the four boys. Ash was scrunched up between Max and Brock with Cilan on Brock's other side. Ash's stark black hair was crumbled and messy and fully visible because he wasn't sporting his favorite red and white league hat. Pikachu lay nestled by his head softly snoring. Misty thought about the conversation she had with Brock the previous day about her and Ash and her feelings. She felt slightly embarrassed especially when Brock joked about their wedding. Though, Misty, being the hopeless romantic she was, couldn't help her mind wander to those thoughts. She continued daydreaming, slightly smiling in Ash's direction when she heard an annoyed sound. She turned to her right to see the bed that occupied Dawn. She had woken up and was watching Misty watch Ash while he slept.
"I know you like him." Dawn said in a low, flat voice. Misty was taken slightly aback at her sudden statement and her mind floundered for a response.
"S-so? What do you know?" Misty replied rather scathingly having been interrupted by Dawn from her thoughts.
"It's painfully obvious," Dawn sneered, examining her nails, "I think Ash could do better, like me, but whatever." Misty glared at her and she could feel herself getting more angry by the minute but she forced herself to stay quiet for everyone else's sake.
"Why do you have to be like this? Ash clearly isn't interested in you anyways, if he's interested in anyone at all. You don't have to be so nasty all the time." Misty shot back angrily, she couldn't wait until Dawn left with Kenny in a few hours, it would be heaven on Earth.
"Well, most of the time I do it because it's fun and I like to annoy you to be honest but, I know Ash doesn't like me, it's unfortunate. I don't hate you though, Misty, just for the record. We're just seriously different people so, I guess we have a hard time getting along." Misty was surprised by Dawn's sincerity, it was almost unbelievable and she scrambled to find something to say.
"Oh, well, I guess I don't really hate you either… we're just very different like you said. You do annoy me though," Misty said with a smirk, only half joking, "Honestly, I'm happy that you have Kenny though, he seems to really like you and I know you like him." Misty pulled the same card on Dawn as she did with her and Dawn's fair skin turned a deep red.
"Well, fine, I'll give you that." She snubbed her nose in the air but she was slightly smiling, "We could call a truce for now if you want"
Misty smirked and as much as she didn't really like Dawn she agreed, "Alright, as long as you're not hanging off Ash for the next few hours before Kenny comes to get you." Misty added at the end a little more sternly.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it." Dawn said but actually stuck her hand out to Misty to shake and Misty took it rather happily. Not too soon after their little chat, May and Iris started to stir and the girls began to get ready for the day. Misty put on one of her old outfits which included her yellow cropped top and short blue shorts accompanied by her red suspenders. Of course they weren't the same clothing as when she was ten and first started traveling with Ash, she had grown since then, but she had bought some similar looking clothing a while back. She felt nostalgic about it, it reminded her of her travels with Brock and Ash in the early days. Finally, after the girls had gotten ready and brought some food back with them, did the boys wake up and go straight to eating.
"Glad to see where your priorities are." May said slightly amused but a little annoyed as Max scarfed down some eggs and bacon while Ash shoved almost a whole piece of toast with jam into his mouth. Misty sweat dropped at the sight but it wasn't unusual to see Ash eat mass amounts of food. Brock was along side them,, happy to have not been the one cooking for once and Cilan sat next to him quietly eating his breakfast. He had much more etiquette than the other three boys but that didn't stop him from eating a good portion of food. Luckily the four girls had already eaten because it didn't seem like they were going to get much. When everyone had finished eating and had gotten ready, they packed up their belongings and ventured out into the main area of the pokemon center. It was around ten o'clock in the morning and it would take most of the day to travel across the Marvelous Bridge and get onto Route 36. Nimbasa City would be just beyond that so, they would reach it by nightfall. As they walked into the main part of the center, people were bustling around and Nurse Joy was certainly busy with injured pokemon from the morning trainer's battles. Suddenly, Misty heard Dawn squeal and rolled her eyes slightly.
"Kenny!" She greeted the brown haired boy with the green shirt who had stood up from one of the couches in the middle of the room.
"Dee Dee!" He smiled and greeted her with a friendly hug. They chatted animatedly while the rest of the group watched them and seemingly sighed a sigh of relief in unison. Misty was broken from her thoughts when Dawn spoke up finally.
"Well, I'll be off then. It was great to see you Ashy-poo," she said with a wink and Misty gave her a warning glare but Dawn just gave her a slight smile and Misty relaxed a little, "See you guys some other time; nice to meet you Cilan, Am- I mean Iris. Hope you guys don't miss me too much!" She flipped her hair and Kenny said a quick hi and bye to the group as he was being dragged away by the blue haired, flighty girl.
"What a relief!" May exclaimed, voicing everyone's thoughts, "I thought we'd have to deal with her for the rest of our visit."
"She had…a peculiar flavor that was most unpleasant…" Cilan stated in one of his interesting and weird ways but it was undoubtedly an insult.
"Yeah, please tell me how on Earth you dealt with her for two years?" Iris directly the question to Brock, Misty and, Ash and the trio just sweat dropped and sighed.
"Believe me it was certainly one of the most unpleasant times of my life." Misty stated and Ash nodded vigorously in agreement.
"Well, now that, that's over, who's ready to head for the Marvelous Bridge?" Brock asked in an excited tone.
"Oh, I certainly am, I can't wait to get to Nimbasa City to go on all the rides and try all the food!" Max exclaimed with sparkling eyes and a bit of drool coming out of his mouth. Misty giggled, in a way that side of Max reminded her of when Ash was younger.
"I'm so excited for candy and rollercoasters!" Ash agreed with just as much excitement as Max. Scratch that Misty thought fondly Ash is still just the same.
Author's Note: I hope you guys like it! It's a quick update, it's not very interesting…Just some character development between Misty and Dawn. I'm writing more as we speak so just hold on! Thank you for reading and don't forget to review!
