Chapter 7: Church's Arrival
"Rin… Rin? Yo? Are you still alive, man?" Left without response the voice got irritated. "Hey! Wake up already! Rin!"
Said person was still curled up on the couch and didn't even seem to notice. "Oh… You're a bother really..." the person sighed.
Rin woke up with a large splash of water running down his face. "Oi! Kono yarō!"
"Whoa, was that Japanese, mate?" the owner of the voice that had constantly tried to wake him up, who was also responsible for the water, was none other than Lavi. The redhead laughed at Rin pouted and wet face while said teen cursed the other. "You wouldn't wake up, so this was our last option before we'd call an ambulance," apologized Lenalee. She looked guilty, yet she too couldn't stop a smile on her face while looked at the startled half-demon.
"I'm not easy to wake up," mumbled Rin unnecessarily. Allen smiled and held out his hand. The teen gladly accepted it and let himself be pulled up from the ground he had been sleeping on. Wait… ground?
"Where's the train?" asked Rin and he looked around. They were just outside a station on a picnic spot.
"It left." Lavi nodded. "Yup, totally left."
Rin's brains were trying their hardest to figure out how that was possible. "Then how did we get here?"
"I carried you," smiled Allen.
That sudden answer startled the half-demon completely and left him unmoving for a while, then a red blush burned through the teen's head. Allen carried him? Lavi burst in laughter and rolled over the ground. Lenalee patted Rin on his shoulder. "You looked so cute while in Allen's arms," was what she giggled.
Allen still smiled innocently. The shorty carried Rin? He just couldn't comprehend it… He was way taller than the whitehead, and yet… His blush turned almost deeper in embarrassment.
"Shall we go then?" giggled Lenalee, who noticed the meaning behind Rins face. "We have lots to do!"
After they left the picnic spot they searched for a ride, one that could bring them close to the curch they were supposed to go.
Unfortunately for them, the man didn't understand much of their English. They had to explain the way they wanted to go a lot. Eventually the man pulled out a map, saying that they should take a nice walk instead. After giving said object he left, not even saying good-bye. They turned out to be on a completely wrong spot and had to ride a train again for a little while.
"Did he really dislike us that much?" asked Allen, looking a bit guilty.
"Maybe," began Lenalee, "just maybe, you shouldn't have asked about the restaurant we passed by, while I tried to explain the way we needed to go!"
"I'm sorry! But I'm hungry ..."
"You ate lots in the other train!" exclaimed Rin. "No way that you're hungry now!"
"… I have lots of room in my tummy, okay?" pouted Allen.
"The train is coming…" noted Lavi, who was standing in the middle of a group of annoyed looking business people. Lots of them where looking at the exorcists like they were mental. "I thought you guys did this kind of thing on daily basis…" mumbled Rin. "Shouldn't they know about your uniform then?"
"Not really," said Allen. "They are supposed to know, but they don't. This country is pretty small, not many Innocence here, actually. And if there is, they don't notice us."
"You're like ghosts to normal people, hmmm?"
Allen hung his head. "Yeah… we are all humans, yet we're so different no one would think we are." Rin stayed quiet. It's true that they weren't considered humans. Not outside and not inside the Order. They were exorcists.
They crushed through walls without any effort at all. They killed Level 1 like it was a walk in a park. Exorcists didn't get the credit they deserve, found Rin. But was he to speak such? He didn't think demons existed until he found out he was one himself. Before that, he regularly laughed at his adopted-father for being one. Being able to defeat invisible bad-luck, how amazing…
No, he had always thought it was rubbish! And he didn't know about Akumas since last month! These people here were the same. They didn't know, so they didn't care. It's human nature.
"AAAAAH!" screamed Lavi, jumping out of the way. The man either didn't notice the redhead in his way, or simply didn't mind him. "You rude bastard!" screamed the young Bookman after the man.
The doors of the train opened. Each showed their tickets and looked for a place in the bus, which was pretty difficult.
Lenalee was packed with Lavi, Rin and Allen had to mix themselves with all the people in the back. They stood in a very uncomfortable position. The two teens had to watch where to grab when the train made a turn, and they had to make sure not to move them too much, or the other would… feel… that movement. (A/N: ^/^ )
Ater they finally got out of the train, it only took them just a little while to walk to the church they were expecting.
"All right! Let's go," said Lenalee as she leaded the ground into the building. The happiness the exorcists felt when they finally arrived at the place was brutally interrupted by Rin.
"Oh come on! Fuck this shit!" cursed the half-demon. He didn't walk in like the rest and still stood outside, looking angry at the doors of the church.
"Rin? Is there something the matter?" asked Allen worried, taking a step forward to the dark haired teen.
"I can't get in," mumbled said demon.
Then nothing but silence.
"Well, this is gonna be troublesome," said Lavi. "Looks like we're gonna have to leave ya, buddy!" Lenalee couldn't take that and kicked the red-head, yelling that he should be more sensitive to everyone. Allen walked to Rin. "Don't worry, we're not going to leave you behind. I'll stay here too, alright?"
"Really? Thanks! You're really amazing Allen!" the demon hugged the exorcist tightly, acting sweet in everyone's eyes. However, his action was pretty selfish.
He didn't want anyone to his blush that darkened his white skin.
"Not necessary!" said a cheerful voice. A fat monk ran towards them at full speed. "I'll remove the charms for a while, he word from the Order that this might happen."
A priest had followed the happy monk and looked down on everyone before stepping to Rin. "If you even think about causing chaos, we'll throw you in a lake of holy water!"
"Don't worry about that," said Allen loudly. "He won't!"
Now aint that sweet~
