Finally off my hiatus for this story! i thought about what to do with this one, and although it would normally end with the character living happily ever after with their prince charming or beautiful princess, i thought i should do a twist on this story!

warning: violence, cliffhanger,

Chapter 7: Karma is a b*tch!

Hilde was sitting in the dungeon, angered about her failure, but afraid of her master's reaction to her failure. With a few waves of her hands, green magic came out and it swirled around in front of her, forming a window, showing a man with long, raven black hair, a long, pale face, strong cheekbones and thin lips. "What is it Hilde, I'm busy at this moment!" he yelled angrily. "I have failed you, my master." She said gravely hanging her head in shame. "What happened?" he demanded. "The King has brought back the mother and child, my master and they are to be wedded soon, probably to ease the woman's humiliation." Hilde explained earning a very icy glare that would freeze anyone on the spot. "You worthless little wench! Alec only thinks that this child is his, but since I had cast that spell, it was my seed that coated the mother's womb! My child who she gave birth to and he would think to steal her and my child away from me!" he roared angrily. "The woman's name is Miranda and the child's name is Gabriel, my master, I promise you I won't fail again, you have my word!" she pleaded, hoping that he would spare her life. He just smirked and held a hand out towards the mirror and slowly closed his fingers, causing Hilde to start choking. "Master!" she exclaimed trying in vain to breathe until he snapped his hand to the side, causing her neck and spine to break, killing her instantly. "There is a saying, if you want something done right, do it yourself, wench!" he said before the magic faded away, leaving the dungeon empty except for a dead body.

The sorcerer was calming himself down from his minion's failure to drive Miranda and Gabriel from the castle permanently, speaking of them, he went in front of a mirror, standing in front of it as he smirked at his reflection. "Show me my son and future bride." He ordered. A light surrounded the mirror before ultimately showing Miranda playing with Gabriel, tickling his stomach and toes, causing giggles and yells to come out of him, causing a smile to appear on the sorcerer's face. "Oh how much our little son has grown, everything else is yours my dear, but the others are mine, despite what that imbecile Alec claims. I will be better than him in every way; I will just need to get him out of the way somehow…." With a wave of his hand, the serene scene dissipated, leaving only his reflection, "his family line has always been a vile line, full of murderers and rapists, greedy, gluttonous pigs, yet he thinks he's any different from those fools!" he shouted angrily. He had an idea that would be foolproof, but it would have to be flawless, carefully planned out, just like that year ago when he cast that spell on Alec while he violated her, having his seed coat her womb instead of Alec's, but was angered that Alec had claimed Gabriel as his child instead of his, but it wouldn't matter anymore should the plan work to perfection. He decided to bathe himself in mint, eucalyptus, and some more floral extracts that were more masculine for him. he then started thinking about what would happen should this plan work, he would need to do some remodeling in his castle, dresses, a crib or cradle, he needed to make some changes and fast before the wedding would begin, but it would be his wedding to the mother of his child. "Has a sorcerer ever gazed on such beauty, such flawless features?" he mused while still bathing. He knew he would provide a better life for her and their son than the King would; he just needed to get him out of the way before she would be married to him, causing his plans to deteriorate and crumble. He thought for a while about how to get Alec out of the way, and he eventually came up with the perfect plan for how to get the so-called 'self-righteous king' out of the way so he could get to Miranda.

Miranda had waited with enthusiasm for her wedding day, she was trying to move on from that humiliating year ago when Alec had raped her and gotten her pregnant with Gabriel, but this time around, he was even affectionate with Gabriel as his father, complimenting her on her inner and outer beauty, causing a blush to appear on her face every time he would say it. As he held Gabriel in his arms, smiling at him as he kept cooing and babbling, a guard suddenly came running into their bedchambers, fright and horror apparent and abundant in her eyes as she had a hand over her mouth, trying to dispel the cries that were ready to burst out of her throat. "What is it, what's happened?" he asked as she sat down on the chair, head between her knees. "It's Hilde, she's dead my king!" she screamed trying to calm down. "When did this happen?!" he demanded, horrified. "I don't know, a few minutes ago, I was getting her some food when I smelled the most foul of smells and came across her corpse, your majesty!" she explained, having more tears come out of her eyes as she was telling him what happened. He turned to Miranda with an intense look on his face. "Stay here, Miranda, you'll be safe while I go and see for myself whether what's happened is true." He said before handing Gabriel over to her and leaving the room with a few soldiers. Gabriel was still babbling and cooing even after his father left to investigate the dungeons.

Alec got there, and was shocked to indeed discover Hilde's body in the dungeon, lifeless with blood coming out of her mouth and ears, her eyes lifeless and dead. "God and Jesus, guide her soul to your paradise, unless you have a place in the devil's family for her." He said doing the cross gesture. He was going back to his bedchambers when there was a guard calling him towards the throne room, saying there was someone to speak with him urgently. He really wanted to be back to his future queen and their son, but his duty was to his people before attending to his family. He went there to find a woman in maybe her thirties, standing there anxiously. "What brings you here, my subject?" he asked. "My king, there is a great situation outside England taking place right this minute that needs your utmost attention, your majesty!" she said while she kept looking around the throne room, obviously worried that someone might see her. "Speak, woman, what brings you here in this hour?" he asked firmer to her. "A monster is attacking towns towards the Celtic lands and I fear it might head this way to England if you don't do something about this!" she yelled frantic. He later went back to check up on Miranda and Gabriel, giving them the news. "A monster attacking the lands, that's crazy!" she said while Gabriel was learning how to walk towards her. "I know, but I will be back, I promise you that, alright?" he said holding her hand in his. She was afraid for him, but nodded as he kissed her one last time before leaving to search for the monster. "Be careful." She pleaded before he left to find this monster.

He went towards the Celtic lands and although he doesn't discover any monsters, he does discover a man with sorcerer's robes, a scepter, with a face that was pale and long, with hair as black as a raven's wings, eyes as blue as a sapphire, and thin lips, smirking at him. "You there, state your name!" the captain yelled. The man lifted his hands above his head, and the next thing they knew, there was a circle of fire around the captain, Alec and the rest of the soldiers. "Who I am? I'm your punisher, your majesty." He said with a mocking bow and a sneer. "Why have you done this, sorcerer, have I done you any wrong?" Alec asked in confusion. "Yes, you claim my child as your own, you vile excuse for a king!" the sorcerer yelled. It took a few minutes for Alec, but he knew who this man was. "Balthazar! What do you mean 'claiming your child as my own?' I mated with the woman, not you!" Alec yelled out, trying to reason with him. "You mean you violated her, but I had cast a spell on you, it did cost me most of my seed and most of my energy: if you think for one second that this child was yours, you're sadly mistaken: the child is mine…he's always been mine, and I hear from my minion that you and the child's mother are to be wed soon, is that true?" Balthazar asked, earning a shocked look from Alec. "Well, you won't be wed to her, for I will have her as my wife and the mother of my children, oh and don't worry, I will be loving, caring, providing and nurturing her, everything a husband must do and be for his wife." He declared, circling around the fire that trapped Alec and his men. His eyes then began glowing red and an evil smirk came upon his face. "Long…..live….the King…." He said before he shot his hands forward and the fire grew taller and taller, providing little to no escape from the flames without dying. 'Miranda, I've failed you…..' that was Alec's last thought before a wave of Balthazar's hand caused the circle to disperse, along with Alec and his men, leaving the sorcerer all alone in the Celtic lands. "Now that he's out of the way, I shall now find her, woo and wed her, but in a disguise, thankfully I remember the buffoon, so it will be easy for me to blend in until the wedding day, after the vows are said and souls and hearts are bound to one another, I will rid myself of my disguise and whisk her and our son away and live peacefully, but some changes will need to be made before it can happen." Balthazar mused before a few words were whispered and he was perfectly disguised as Alec, armor and crown and all, and went straight to England, and the woman and child.

She didn't know how much time had passed since he left, but she was getting worried about him. "Where is he, I hope he isn't dead…." Miranda asked before a tear came out of her eye, landing on Gabriel's head while she was breastfeeding him. He snapped his eyes up at her, looking at his mother with hopeful and concerned eyes. "Sorry about that, little one…." She said before wiping her eyes with her sleeves, still worried about what had been taking Alec so long, she knew that some things like this would take a day or two, but this was not something that she would be used to, at least for a while. Suddenly the door was open and there was Alec, he looked a little bruised and battered, but otherwise fine. "You are alright, thank heavens!" she yelled before running up to him and hugging him, all while tears ran down her face. 'Alec' held her tight, soothing her worry. "I am alright, dearest, dry your tears." He said tipping her chin up so she could look at him. She looked at him warily. "Your eyes, they're….like sapphires, just like Gabriel's…." she observed when looking at his eyes closer, Alec's eyes were more of a brownish hue, so that made her suspicious. Balthazar cursed to himself, hoping she wouldn't notice, but it was no matter at the moment as he looked over at Gabriel, having a grin come onto his face. "Hello, my son." He said coming up to him and holding him in his arms. Not so surprisingly, Gabriel snuggled into his hold, grasping onto something tightly. He kissed his tiny forehead, admiring how beautiful he looked while he was sleeping. Miranda thought that there was something slightly off about Alec, his eyes were completely different from the usual brownish hue that had been there, he was more affectionate than usual towards Gabriel, and the rest of his men weren't there at the castle. 'Alec' then turned to Miranda and walked towards her, kissing her sweetly, but with passion. Another thing that had her on edge was that his lips seemed….softer, softer than usual. 'There is something wrong here, first his eyes, then his lips, is this really him….or is it someone else?' she thought to herself before he handed their son over to her to try and put to sleep. After a while, Gabriel was resting comfortably in his crib while 'Alec' embraced her from behind, pressing kisses along her neck before moving up to her ear and licking and nuzzling her earlobe. "Sweet dreams, dear Miranda, I shall see you in the morning." He said before leaving his room and going to his bedchambers. She was having an uneasy sleep, contemplating on what was happening thus far, wondering if Alec was someone else in his disguise, but if so what for? She needed to find that out before something would happen.
