Title: Some Time

Secrets

~.~.~.~.~

"Since when did you know?"

"No, I actually didn't know."

"Oh."

She let her soft hair framing her face sweep itself over her eyes as she looked down.

He stepped closer to her, so close that she could breathe in his scent.

She leaned forward and pressed her forehead to his chest.

"It's okay, Rima. It'll be okay," he said soothingly, stroking her tangled curls.

She didn't cry. She didn't need to; all her sorrows were displayed, but she didn't need to cry. Not yet.

Life

~.~.~.~.~

He watched with his mother. Their rival family was here; the one that they competed with to make their kin the best traditional dancers possible.

"Watch closely, Nagihiko," his mother said, "Learn from them."

And he did.

He learned so many techniques, quirks, movements...and how far behind he was.

He ran a tired hand through his silky locks; they were levels above him. He should have studied abroad when his mother presented the chance in his early adolescence.

Laughter

~.~.~.~.~

She has so much fun around him, around her, around her friends.

They laughed at her jokes. They understood, or at least accepted, her love for the Bala Balance. She honestly couldn't ask for more.

In contrast, she felt so much heartbreak around them.

They screamed at each other and ignored her. They didn't understand her love for comedy, always telling her to grow up. She always wanted just a tiny bit of peace, a tiny bit of happiness.

She always found it odd, the people she loved more in the end.

Re―

~.~.~.~.~

Regrets. Reconciliation. Redundancy.

He went. Left. Gone. Finally.

He had been toying with the idea for the longest time, refusing to leave, afraid of what he might leave behind.

It wasn't like that anymore. He didn't have a choice. He fell behind. Too far behind.

"Are you sure?" his mother asked.

He nodded, "This time, for sure."

Now it was either leave or be the one left.

Love

~.~.~.~.~

She packed her bags. Ready to leave.

Her loved ones were smiling. Finally smiling.

Maybe moving out into the country would do her family some good after all.

No one knew. No one except him, but she made him promise; no one else would find out until she was long gone.

"Ready?" her mother asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be," she smiled back. It was a real smile, not one attained through a small, temporary bout of laughter.

It was what she really wanted.

~.~.~.~.~

Promises

~.~.~.~.~

No one would know. Not until she was long gone.

Not until he was long gone.

He had promised.

And he would keep it, savoring yet another promise made between them.

They would meet again. As grown people. People who wouldn't be on a standstill.

People who could live life.

And maybe, he hoped, people that could fall in love.

Secrets

~.~.~.~.~

She left home. Leaving behind a life of happiness, stepping into another life. Another story. Another world basked in the love that she wanted.

Her broken family. All she wanted was to fix it and she was given the chance.

She looked back, wondering when he would tell their friends that she left.

She didn't know that he had already left on his own journey, and maybe it was for the better.

Her deeper secret, she knew would be safe within her. Her real secret, he would have to wait for.

When she comes back, she knew it would be as a better person. Not a girl part of a broken family, but a whole person. Only then would she tell him her secret. Her feelings.

Notes: I stopped making sense again. AND it was shorter than usual. My next one will be long, I'm sure. :)

Thanks for reading.
