Chapter 6: Day 120
I had been on the Teen Titans for a total of four months and it was ten days until Christmas and the team had decorated the GPS Room in streamers as well as the tree with lights, garland and ornaments. We had also taken a couple of trips to the mall in order to buy our friends presents with two more trips to go where'd we'd be going as a team to make sure everyone would receive a present on Christmas day. Within four month time frame I had been in battles with numerous adversaries ranging from Control Freak to Cinderblock and Plasmus to Johnny Rancid not to mention there was a fire in a four story apartment building a month ago that I was certain was started by a man that I least wanted to face. The man I had been running from since the incident that happened five years ago. But other than those things the past four months had been rather good I had made seven new friends and teammates and I was starting to fall in love again.
Raven had been the girl that caught my eye. Raven was about 5'4'' compared to me at 5'11''. She had violet colored hair and eyes that contrast against her light grey skin. On her forehead she has a red and black gemstone on her ajna chakra which she was born with. She wears a black leotard with long sleeves that stops before her thumb and extended a little further on the back of her hand with a reddish black jewel set in gold on the back of each hand. She also wears a gold belt with the same jewels on it as on the back of her hands. On her head and shoulders she wears an indigo colored hooded cloak with one final reddish black jewel in laid in gold that attaches it together, keeping it on her shoulders as well as hides her T-Communicator. She wears ruffled ankle boots that match her cloaks color and material along with matching wrist cuffs.
Between November 15th and December 15th in addition to celebrating both Bee's birthday and Thanksgiving Raven and I had gone on few more dates together. They were all dinner and a movie type dates but we enjoyed them just the same. On our most recent date, which was about week ago, Raven asked if we could go on a different type of date.
''Sure what kind of date would you like?'' I asked her.
''I'd like to do something like a mini golf, bowling or something like that. Something both fun and physical that we'd enjoy.'' she said.
On the day she asked for this different type of date I decided to use her idea of mini golf. The night of the date we ate dinner with the rest of the team and then we left for our date. We rode the elevator down to the Vehicle Hangar and hopped onto my bike. We rode it to an indoor mini golf course close to the tower. After we arrived there parking my bike in the parking lot and once inside I paid for two clubs and balls and before we started Raven suggested that we didn't use Telekinesis to keep things both fair and somewhat competitive. We were laughing and enjoying ourselves for each hole and giving encouragement when we messed up shots. On the last hole Raven got a hole in one and she had won a free game. After the mini golf game I drove us to the park where we walked around hand in hand talking about where our relationship was headed both of us agreeing that we really liked each other and wanted to continue dating but Raven was a little concerned. When I asked her why she admitted she was nervous for a few reasons. Most of them involved her losing control of her demonic side which even though I'd seen a small taste of the power she wielded in her demonic form during our battle with Johnny Rancid it was her major concern and actual fear of the consequences. She admitted that ever since I had taken her out on our first date even though she enjoyed herself that night after she went to bed as was the case for every following date she had nightmares about hurting me if we ever got intimate which we both agreed would eventually happen if we stayed together thinking it would be easier for her to keep control over that side of herself.
I admitted I'd had the same though but I knew how I felt around her and had an idea of how she felt around me according to what every member of the team had told me about her unusual behavior ever since I joined the team what with hanging out with her so much. The unusual behavior being her showing her emotions more freely without them running rampant. I told her that she shouldn't fear what might or might not happen as we didn't know unless we gave it a shot. But just to be safe and make her feel more at ease we both agreed to take it slow. After the park we drove back to the tower and I walked her back to her room since it was late by the time we got back. As we stood outside Raven's room we stood there awkwardly both of wanted to kiss each other but were afraid if it was too soon since we agreed earlier that night that we should take it slow.
Once we had discussed everything and agreed to take things slow we walked back to my bike and we rode back home to the tower and after opening the Vehicle Hangar door, driving through it and parking in my usual space, the door closed behind us automatically, we got off my bike and took the elevator up to the top floor joining our friends in the GPS Room. As we sat down next to each other on the red semi circular couch watching T.V. before going to bed for the night. At 12:00 everyone except Raven and I got up and went to bed. The two of us assured Robin we wouldn't be up much longer and he left trusting we meant it. Her and I stayed in the GPS Room alone for half on hour after everyone else left for bed just starting to feel tired before we decided to head to bed ourselves.
I walked Raven to her room as I had after our first date and as we stood in front of her door unsure of how to say good night she decided against her better judgment, especially after our talk on taking things slow earlier, she swiftly leaned up and planted her lips onto mine. I stood rigidly for second until I realized what was happening and than I relaxed losing myself in the kiss as our tongues instinctively swirled around in each others mouths. Raven broke the kiss and hugged me goodnight before she went into her room shutting the door behind her and she leaned against it hugging herself proud of the courage that it had taken her to do that. I stood outside her door dumbfounded by what had just happened. I was still standing outside of Raven's door like my feet were stuck to the floor while at the same time my legs felt like they were made of Jell-O. I was afraid I'd fall flat on my face if I tried to move. A few minutes passed before I felt okay to turned around and walk down the long hallway to my room which I entered and stripped before I crawled into bed. The thought about what had just happened between me and Raven stayed with me giving me a blissful feeling but at the same time confused me. As confused as I was to why it happened I laid in bed analyzing what happened going over step by step what had just transpired after I walked her to her room. It was at the point of the kiss I realized Raven had initiated it. Her who had leaned up and planted her lips on mine I soon drifted off to sleep reliving of our kiss over and over in my head while it swam with joy.
It was a week later after the date where Raven had kissed my outside her room and I was still fixating on the kiss Raven and I shared. Over the passing week I noticed that Raven had been avoiding me like the plague opting to spend as little time in the same room with me as possible even meditating by herself instead with Star and I. This made it incredibly tough to talk to her to figure out what was bothering her even though I thought I knew what it was. I wasn't the only one who noticed Raven's behavior of avoiding me Bee had also noticed and after breakfast on the seventh morning she asked if she could speak to me privately in her room. After breakfast she and I walked to her room which was the first door on the right if you turned left out of the GPS Room meaning she was right next to Raven's room. Once we were in her room and the door was closed I asked ''So Bee what'd you want to talk about?''
''Well Max I've noticed something and I want to make sure everything is okay.'' she said.
''So you've noticed it too?'' I asked knowing what and who she had been talking about.
''It's hard not to have noticed that Raven has been actively avoiding you all week. You two have been pretty much inseparable since you arrived.'' she said and then she asked.
''Do you know why she has?''
''I think I know why but I'm not sure.'' I said truthfully.
''Well? What is it?'' Bee asked.
''Our last date raven ha asked to do something different then dinner and a movie asking for fun but physical so we went mini golfing. After we played a round I drove us to the park where we walked around discussing our relationship and where it was headed.'' I responded.
''Do you think she wants to breakup?'' Bee asked.
''No we agreed to continue dating and she also voiced some of her concerns mostly about her losing control of her demonic side but we agreed that if we took things slow it'd probably be easier for her to manage it.
''Wait how were you walking in the park?'' Bee asked.
She noticed my confusion at the question and then clarified ''Was it side by side not touching, or your arm around her shoulder or holding hands. How?''
''Holding hands. But I don't think that's it'' I responded.
''Okay what's your theory?''
''I think it was the kiss we shared.''
''Possible. How do you two kiss? A peck on the cheek? On the...''
''With tongue.'' I said interrupting her.
''It lasted about a minute before she broke the kiss and then she hugged me goodnight before she went into room for the night.'' I said.
''Then what did you after she went into her room?'' Bee asked.
''I stood outside trying to process what just happened. Then after a few minutes I went to my room and went to bed.
Bee said it must have been the kiss that is making her act so weird. The more we thought the more we realized that's what it had to be.
''So what do we do?'' I asked Bee.
''I'll go talk to her and see if she'd be willing to talk to you.'' She said.
''But she won't even open the door for me. Besides I tried talking to her few days ago and I didn't hear so much as a peep from her.'' I told Bee.
''Well I'm going to try anyway.'' Bee said.
Bee left her room and I followed her. After exiting her room we turned right and walked few steps until we were in between two doors Star's was on the left while Raven's was the one on the right.
Bee knocked on Raven's door saying ''Raven may I come in?''
Bee didn't get a response so she knocked again saying ''Raven sweetie please let me in so we can talk.''
Bee listened carefully and heard Raven's feet hit the floor and heard as she walked over to the door.
On the other side of the door Raven stood poised to unlock her door and open it but first she asked through the door ''Is Max with you?''
''Yes. But he can stay out here if you want him to.'' Bee replied.
''I'd like him say it?'' Raven asked.
Bee looked at me ''As you wish Raven. Whatever you want.''
After Raven heard me say that she unlocked her door and allowed Bee to go in.
Once Bee was in Raven's room she locked the door just to make sure I didn't come in. The two of them walked over to Raven's bed and Bee sat next to the hooded girl.
I sat against the wall next to Raven's door hoping that Bee could either talk Raven into speaking with me or get answers as to why Raven felt she had to avoid me.
''So Raven I've noticed that you've been avoiding Maxcy all week.'' Bee said.
Raven sighed. ''Guess it's sort of obvious that we haven't been spending time together huh?'' Raven asked.
''Well yeah you two are usually inseparable.'' Bee commented.
''I just haven't been feeling well this week.'' Raven lied.
''It seems to me that ever since you guys came back from your date last week you've been avoiding him.'' Bee said.
''You know about the date, what we talked about and kiss don't you Bee?'' Raven asked.
''Yeah, Max told me, because I asked him too so if you're gonna be mad, be mad at me.'' Bee told Raven that she knew.
''I'm not mad.'' Raven said.
''You're not?'' asked Bee.
''No..I'm worried.'' Raven admitted tears welling up in her eyes as she did.
''You're worried your demonic side? Or are you worried about what kissing him signified?'' asked Bee.
''I'm worried that Max didn't feel the same spark I did when we kissed and that I'm trying move things too fast when we agreed other wise and I'm worried that he doesn't feel the same way I do about him...''Raven said freaking out through tears and pacing across her floor.
As Raven's emotions climbed higher things in her room started to shake and rattle.
''Look Raven I don't know if the kiss had a spark for him or if he thought you guys were moving to fast but I can guarantee you that he feels the same way about you that you do him but you need you to calm down. He's just worried about you and just wants to talk. So calm down, collect yourself and when your calm I'll bring him in.'' Bee said in her calmest tone to help Raven calm down as well.
As Raven's emotions climbed and her room shook I could feel it through the walls and I hoped that Bee had things under control and a few seconds later it stopped as Raven focused on her breathing and calmed down after a few minutes. Bee than walked over the door and nodded to Raven. Raven stood up and nodded back. Bee opened Raven's door and she said ''Max you can come in now.''
I stood up, stepped in and strode over to Raven where she sat on her and I wanted to hug her but wasn't sure if I should given what I had just felt minutes ago with the vibrations coming through her walls but Bee gestured to me to go for it and then I hugged her tightly.
''Hey Rae.'' I said as we hugged.
''Max.'' Raven sniffed as she hugged me back just as tight.
''So hows it going?'' I asked with concern in my voice after we broke the hug.
''Other than the obvious, not bad.'' Raven chuckled lightly after wiping her eyes a little.
''So do you want to talk about it?'' I asked Raven.
''All this week I've been worried about the kiss we shared. I've been worried about if you thought I was I was trying to move to fast in our relationship and If you felt a spark. I am also worried if you.''
''Raven I know what your going to say and I feel the same way about you as you do me.''
''So Raven can we try this again?'' I asked.
''I'd like that.'' Raven replied.
We looked at Bee who realized what we were talking about and she walked out of Raven's room.
I leaned closer to Raven after Bee left and we kissed each other more passionately than we did during our first kiss. It lasted a few minutes with our bodies knowing what to do our tongues instinctively swirled and danced together before we broke it.
''Well there was definitely a spark.'' I said.
''Yeah.'' Raven said feeling the most assured than she had all week.
''I love you, Raven.'' I told her.
''And I you.'' replied Raven.
We talked some more and than we walked out of her room hand in hand and into the GPS Room joining our friends. None of them said a word as they silently knew as we stepped in the room. The rest of the day continued normally. We ate lunch with Raven and I went to meditating after without Star who felt like giving us as much time together alone as possible given what the past week had been like. After meditating we stayed in her room listening to music like we normally did. We then joined our friends in the GPS Room for dinner which for her and I was the best meal all week now that we were happy and officially a couple. The night continued uneventfully as the team watched movies each of us cuddling on the couch with our significant other and than the team went to bed at about 12:00. After kissing each other good night Raven and I went to our respective rooms and both of reached sleep quickly after the crazy day following the crazy week we'd had both had.
