Matthew and Rachel wandered the Shamar desert for five days straight now, they were finally nearing the end of it, they ran out of food and water two days ago and were hoping some when they reached the end. They didn't stray away from train tracks that ran through the desert, hoping a train would pass so they could hop on. They were unnoticed by robots too well were…
"OKAY TODOROKI, ON MY MARK READY STEADY GOOO!" Matthew exclaimed running away, from a horde of robots, Rachel didn't follow she was fighting her way through, she wasn't doing a good job.
"MATTHEW HELP!" She screamed, being surrounded by the robots, they apprehended her, Matthew just stared petrified, "MATTHEW CATCH!" she threw her backpack to Matthew who caught it, "RUN AND FORGET ABOUT ME!"
Matthew did as she requested, he ran faster than he ever did in life, he ran for a straight ten minutes without stopping. He finally stopped when he heard a choo choo coming from behind, behind him was a freight train coming straight his way. Matthew jumped onto the end of the locomotive. He decided to head inside.
When Matthew entered the freight train he saw the horrifying sight of sick Chao, they weren't fed, they weren't washed and they were certainly not left unharmed. "I feel really weak and sick." he said with his stomach churning, Matthew collapsed onto the floor as the Chao surrounded him.
"A Hellish Paradise, The Matthew and Ashiko Duo!"
"Hey dawg wake up." a small voice shook Matthew, "Hey dawg you gotta get up we're arriving in Amazo City and there'll be robots checking on us."
Matthew felt a stream of water pour down his face, Matthew slowly slid his eyes open, "Amazo City? WAIT HOW LONG HAVE I BEEN OUT?" he asked jumping up.
"Well dawg, you've been out for a good day. We've also arrived in Amazo City, place has been taken out by them Eggman Robots dawg." Matthew looked down to see a hybrid Chao size creature of a sea-lion and a puppy, he had black beady eyes, his ears pointed up, he had a tuff of hair pointing upwards and wore a dog tag around his non-existent neck.
"Do you always be this annoying dawg?" he said with the slightest taste of sarcasm.
"YES DAWG!" he exclaimed, "People say I'm very obnoxious and want to kill me in my sleep."
"I'll keep that in mind." Matthew gritted his teeth, soon the Cargo Container's door open and there was Mr. Dictator himself and Metal Sonic, observing the Chao before them.
"What marvellous creatures, these will surely make a profit in the new Chao Paradise I created." Dr. Eggman stated not noticing Matthew. "Especially the talkative one."
The small seapup hid in Matthew's hat, Matthew felt like a snake was around his neck strangling him, helpless to scream.
"Take all of them to the Chao Paradise." Dr. Eggman ordered, Metal Sonic stepped in the Cargo Container and scanned his premises.
"INTRUDER ALERT!" he beeped, Dr. Eggman looked on to see Matthew looking lifeless.
"WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE!" Dr. Eggman growled into Matthew's face, "A helpless child who doesn't know any better, I know you're hiding that unique specimen in your little baseball cap."
"I'M NOT LETTING YOU HURT HIM OR ANY OF THESE CHAO!" Matthew hissed back, soon Metal Sonic grabbed his wrist in a tight grasp, "He he, I take that back."
"Not very brave are you? No matter I think I have a use for you."

Matthew and the rest of the Chao were dragged to Dr. Eggman's Chao Paradise, the place was in a forty mile radius, it was covered in exotic trees, soft tender grass and a lake surrounding the whole area and at the very end was the highest waterfall known as Hopes Peak.
Matthew was in awe by the sheer beauty around him but not in a good way, soon he realised on his wrist was a tracking band with Eggman's logo on it, the beeping it made was at a high frequency.
"Those bands track your every movement, if you step out of line you will be punished. The only job you have as a slave here is too make sure these Chao are taken care of." Dr. Eggman sternly said to him, he soon took his leave with Metal Sonic.
"What are we going to do Dawg?" the small seapup asked.
"Why are you asking me, I ain't no leader or anything." he replied shaking, "I don't think we can do anything anyway, we may just wait and do what he tells us."
"You just going to give up just like that Dawg?" he huffed puffing his cheeks.
"STOP CALLING ME DAWG!" he snapped back, "It's Matthew Otakat" he introduced himself.
"Well my name is Ashiko Dawg." Ashiko introduced himself, "Anyway we're hungry, we need to find some food."
"Chao Chao." the Chao agreed.
"There must be food somewhere around here, he wouldn't let us starve now?" Matthew looked around, "Maybe we should look over there." he pointed over the lake.
"Alright let's go dawg." Ashiko hopped onto Matthew's fluffy hair while wearing his baseball cap.
Matthew and Ashiko reached the lake Matthew dipped his leg into it, soon he realised that his legs were being bitten by Jaw Robots, "Of course this wouldn't be easy to do, I have to go through some kind of torture." he said walking through the pain.
Matthew reached for the other side and quickly lifted himself up and checked his legs, there were bite marks everywhere. Matthew trekked on, soon there were lush trees of fruit all over. He immediately tried to climb it but slid down, "Hmm maybe I should try using my PSI." Matthew concentrated he made slight finger movements, soon he made the fruit fall down by itself.
"WHAT WAS THAT!?" Ashiko shouted, "Dawg, are you physic or something?" he asked.
"Well when I was three I could bend metal spoons, I soon found out I am a rare type of earthling that has the ability of PSI." he explained, "We will probably need a lot more if we are going to feed twenty Chao."
Matthew soon came back to the Chao, they all gathered around him, "You'll all get your share of food, one fruit each dawg." Ashiko said to them.
Matthew said a Japanese prayer and divided the fruit among the Chao, they all eat with pleasure and were satisfied with it, soon Matthew and Ashiko shared the last fruit among themselves, "You're not that annoying like other people say." Matthew complimented him, Ahsiko agreed.
"Chao Chao." the Chao spoke to Matthew.
"They say 'thank you very much kind Chief Matthew' they love you dawg." Ashiko translated their language.
"Chief? I wouldn't call myself a chief all I did was give you food." Matthew declared, "But we'll get out of here someday I swear."

Matthew and Ashiko, everyday for a good month travelled through the Paradise in search of food, the food was diminishing fast and Matthew's legs got injured and injured even more from the Jaw robots, he couldn't walk as good as he used too.
Everyday when he was there, there would be an exhibit of the Chao where the high society gathered to observe and discuss about the Chao. Matthew had to admit Eggman can be a crafty business man, he had his followers which was high society and made a hefty profit from the $75 entry fee.
Matthew and Ashiko came back from a food hunt in mild success they only found five pieces of fruit, they divided the five fruits into four slices and fed it to each Chao. Matthew and Ashiko starved that day.
"Man what are we going to do Ashiko? We have no food at all, that was probably the last of it." Matthew stressed climbing on the tree he called home.
"Well then we have to break out tonight." Ashiko proclaimed.
"What no we can't, he is tracking our every movement." Matthew reminded him, "I wish Rachel and Takato were here." he groaned he was stressed out to the max.
Soon the Chao gathered around them and among one of those Chao was a very old one with wrinkles and a beard.
"Chao Chao, Chao Chao Chao." The elder spoke.
"He says 'You are troubled with your feeling Chief Matthew, on one side there is a loving boy on the other there is a coward." Ashiko translated, "What he means is you need to grow some balls."
"Chao Chao."
"He also says 'There is a legend inscribed in our ancient texts about a loving boy who would gather the eight melodies of the world.' 'there is one here at Hopes Peak and another in Station Square' I think we should journey to the waterfall Dawg." he suggested.
"Thank you elder Chao, I really should get there it couldn't be that hard." he thanked him.
"Umm he also says that at each Melody Location there is a Super Chaos Emerald powered robot defending it."
"I had to jinx myself, I can't do that even if some stupid prophecy says I am destined too, I think you meant Takato or someone else." Matthew stated.
Soon a Chao brought him and Rachel's bag, soon Matthew searched through it and he found a blessing, "A yo-yo? And my baseball bat I forgot about that." he grabbed his baseball bat and raised it into the air, "I WILL FREE US TONIGHT!"

Matthew, Ashiko and their band of Chao trekked through the paradise, they had to go through the lake which meant getting his legs bitten by Jaw Robots this time it was bad as blood could be seen flowing through the river. Matthew didn't care though.
They went pass the endless amount of trees until they made it to another river bed, Matthew could not risk losing his legs. Matthew grabbed the yo-yo from his pocket and swung it around a tree branch and swung across the river. They finally made it to Hopes Peak the first Melody Location.
"You ready Ashiko?" Matthew asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be dawg." Ashiko responded.
They passed through the waterfall, which was secretly a cave entrance. In that cave were a few Eggpawns, Matthew realised that having a baseball bat was pretty useful for destroying robots.
They climbed through the cave with the dangling ropes that were left for them, they finally made it to the boss.
It was large shining crab robots, on it's back was gold and even more gold. This was the epitome of greed, "You are very stupid on trying to this Melody Location from me, I will make sure this is the first and last boss you'll ever face."
"Okay we don't have to resort to violence Mr. Crab." Matthew stated backing up, the cowardice in him was taking over.
"Don't back up Dawg, we can best him together." Ashiko encouraged.
"Yeah don't you dare back up Matthew, show this Tamatoa imposter a lesson." Takato encouraged Matthew in his mind.
"Takato how are you speaking to me?" he asked wondering.
"Oh this is just a part of your imagination, congratulations Matthew you are now insane." Takato congrats him.
The battle begins, Mr. Crab (calling him that for convenience) attacks first, it swung it's leg at Matthew sending him flying into the rocks, Matthew used his PSI to throw boulders at him with no avail but that did expose his wires. Ashiko used his special attack which was nothing more than a puny water gun that made his wires short circuit a bit.
Mr. Crab was owning Matthew and Ashiko throwing them about like rag dolls, Matthew was thrown into another wall, Mr. Crab had to restore his energy, this gave Matthew to regroup with the band.
"Okay I have a plan." Matthew said, "You all have to help with this Okay" The Chao nodded, "The plan goes as this, I will use this Yo-Yo to tie his legs together while the rest of you push the boulders off those ledges there, while Ashiko pulls his circuits apart and spray them, the I do the finishing hit." he told them.
Matthew pulled out his Yo Yo and sung it around Mr. Crab's legs tying them together, the Chao pushed the two boulders down on it this made it fall to the ground. Ashiko without remorse pulled it's wiring out also spraying them. Before Matthew could deliver the final blow though this happened.
"SELF DESTRUCT INITIATE!" Mr. Crab exclaimed, "You may have beaten me but there are seven more just like me, I was easy but the rest will be much stronger than me." it spoke its last words as it exploded, Matthew, Ashiko and the band of Chao held onto a sturdy rock, soon nearly all of Hopes Peak was destroyed except for the lush waterfall watering the below.
Matthew stepped outside to see the gorgeous view of the Chao Paradise, a melody played as Matthew was taken back to his younger days when he first came to Station Square, there he was on a plane with his parents landing in Station Square.
Soon Matthew saw the Silver Chaos Emerald sitting on the ground, when he went to grab it something amazing happened, the tracking bands on all of them suddenly fell off and morphed into a Chaos Device it looked just like Takato's except it had a silver base with gold buttons.
"This looks like Takato's toy." Matthew noted.
"Anyway dawg, we better go we have a train to catch and to run before someone notices the big gaping hole in the wall." Ashiko reminded him, soon they ran out of this hell hole and caught the Station Square train.
Next day, Dr. Eggman was ready to show the Chao Exhibit to the high society people, when he drew the curtains all he saw was nothing except a note that read See Ya Egghead -Ashiko and Baseball Cap.
"BASEBALL!" He screamed.

Matthew and Ashiko arrived in Station Square after six months of travelling, the train only took them so far. There were Death Egg robots guarding the city. Matthew and Ashiko decided to find another way in but that proved to be a bad idea as when they were walking they fell into a pit trap and couldn't get out, they were surrounded by robots at each corner.
"I don't think were getting out of this one by ourselves." Ashiko stated hiding in Matthew's baseball cap.
Matthew cried tears streaming down his face, he was crying because of fear, "TAKATO I NEED YOU!" he cried out calling for his friend.
"Uggh do you hear that?" Takato asked Milo and Dylan, Takato got new clothes they looked like his old ones but had the new addition of combat gloves and a black sweatband on his right.
"Hear what? I think I knocked you too hard again maybe you should go back to bed." Vegeta asked.
"Yeah, I think Vegeta is right Takato we don't hear it." Krillen agreed.
"No I seriously hear Matthew I think he's in danger, this isn't good, we gotta go." Takato stated grabbing the Chaos Emerald and latching himself onto Dylan and Milo, "I'm sorry to leave on short notice, but thanks for all you've done it really means a lot to me, I'll comeback once we save the world, bye." Takato thanked glowing his red aura.
"Bye Bye Everyone." Milo farewelled.
"See ya nerdy." Dylan said farewell to Gohan.
"Oh and Vegeta don't be worrying about me, I'll be okay." he stated holding up a peace sign before he disappeared.
"You know it's not like you to get attached to someone who isn't your family." Gohan said to Vegeta who went red.
"No it's not like that okay."
"Is it because he reminds you of yourself a bit."

Meanwhile in the Freedom Fighter base of Knothole we see in a beautiful vast flower field was a young blonde haired boy, he had spiky hair, blue round eyes and a peaceful smile, he wore an orange shirt with a yellow lightning bolt, around his neck was a blue cape, he wore beige shorts and blue sneakers he was only six,
Right now this boy was doing a bit of yoga to relax himself, soon he heard Matthew's cry for help in his ear. Immediately stopping his current task the boy went to his Master who was an elderly turtle, he had a strange staff around his back.
"MASTER GOKEN! I HEARD SOMEONE CALL FOR HELP!" He called out.
"Deku, a cry for help you say? Are you going to help the young man?" he asked, his voice had so much kindness in it.
"Well yes and please don't call me Deku it's Lightning." Lightning responded.
"I don't think he should Master Goken, Deku's powers are still per say in beta." another young boy that was more close to Takato's age stated, he had dark crimson spiky hair, black beady eyes, he was scrawny like Matthew and wore a yellow hoodie with short sleeves and black shorts with sandals. He was a bright happy boy.
"Well then if you say that THEN GET GOING!" Goken commanded
"Of course Master Goken, FLYING NIMBUS!" he called, soon a magical yellow cloud came soaring from the heavens, Lucas hopped on it and speeded towards Matthew's location.

(A/N) I really need to come up with titles that actual correspond with the actual chapter, like half of this chapters title was Matthew and Ashiko becoming a duo but the other half Hiding From The World was incorrect and there was no hiding exactly done. So that why the chapter title is different than the preview from last time.
Side Note: Ashiko's name is an alteration of the japanese name for sealion Ashika which is way to feminine so I changed the A to an O, I also found out his name is an actual type of drum which is why I'm trying to give him an upbeat rocking personality.
Also I know EarthBound melody collecting trope, IDK why I am doing it but it will come in much later this season also did you catch the reference to a very very despair filled game.
