Before I start this chapter, I want you to all know that my summer holidays will have probably ended by the time this gets published. So I apologize in advance if I stop uploading daily. It will probably turn into a routine of one chapter every 2-3 days.

Kaigo's POV

I waited for Koneko to finish changing while she was in the public toilets. I took a look at the sun and deduced that it was around 4:30.

Wow, that stray demon must have taken no time to defeat. Well, I guess I'll save dinner for last then and take Koneko somewhere else.

"Soooo, how do I look," Koneko asked, snapping me out of my daydream.

As soon as I laid eyes on her, my eyes widened and jaw dropped at how stunning she looked. She wore a crimson red cardigan with holes in it only to reveal a glimmering red and white checkered t-shirt. She also wore a green and white polka dotted skirt that only extended halfway down her thigh, and to top it all off she was wearing a summer hat with a vibrant pink ribbon as well as a black leather leather purse around her shoulder. While Koneko asked me how she looked, her hands were behind her back and she leant towards me, making her seem even more cute than she already was.

"Y-yo-you l-look… beautiful," I gently muttered, still taking in her majestic appearance.

"Thanks! You look nice too," Koneko said with a slight smile on her face.

I took a look at my attire and saw that it was same outfit that I wore during my first encounter with a fallen angel. I guess Koneko really liked the outfit when she saw me in my bloodified state.

"So, where are you taking me for dinner?" Koneko asked with curiosity in her voice.

"Dinner can wait, let's go have some fun!" I cheered while leading the way.

"Where are you going?" Koneko asked in her usual blank expression.

"To an amusement park," I said while looking back.

"A what now," Koneko stated flatly.

I stopped and fully turned my body to the girl.

"After all the time you've spent on the surface, you haven't heard of an amusement park?" I questioned in disbelief.

"Yeah, I guess so," Koneko replied.

"Alright then follow me," I sighed and began to walk.

Koneko quickly caught up with and clung onto my arm softly.

"Uhhh Koneko, how 'bout we start with hand holding?" I joked while using my free arm to rub the back off my head.

I peered down and across and met with Koneko who also peered into my eyes. She slightly blushed at my comment and snapped back.

"No! I feel even more at ease this way,"

She tightened her grip so that her tits would smear across my almost broken arm.

Well the situation went from bad to worse. Oh well if Koneko is happy then I'm happy… I guess.

Once we arrived at the amusement park, it was as if Koneko was give the attitude of a 6 year old.

"Hey, Hey let's go on that one," Koneko exclaimed, clearly not in her usual mood, "or maybe that one!"

"I'm fine with any one of these rides," I casually said.

"Alright then, let's go with that one!" Koneko cheered as she pointed to the ride named 'SAW TRAP'

"Alright then," I agreed.

Since it was a school day, there weren't that many people around, so this made the queues 5-15 minutes long. Before I knew it we already turned out bags in and began our ascent (which is 10 seconds of being completely vertical)

"K-Kaigo I want to get off now, I've got this horrible feeling in my stomach," Koneko whined while putting on a very worried expression.

I chuckled and held her hand before saying. "Don't worry, this always happens on people's first thrill rides. As the ride speeds up you'll feel all anxiety relieve you and replaced with adrenaline, so just relax."

And with that we were at the top and began our speedy descent. As soon as we reached the bottom and curved into a loop I heard a shriek. I peered over and saw a expression I thought was not possible.

Koneko seemed to be thrilled by this.

I smirked and decided to take it up a notch.

"Raise your arms!" I yelled, while raising her left arm with my right, "it turns it into a whole new experience!"

With those instruction we both raised our free arms and enjoyed the ride to the fullest. Once the ride finished, we both got off and I went to collect our belongings. I spotted Koneko, hand on her knees, panting and eyes half-closed.

"So," I said while handing her hat and purse, "how do you feel after that?"

"That was… exhilarating," Koneko said in between breaths.

As Koneko put on her hat and hoisted the purse over her shoulder, she shot a smile at me and I shot a smile at her, with that we left the attraction.

Koneko's POV

As I slightly paced ahead in front of Kaigo, deciding what ride we should do next, I heard a chuckle coming from Kaigo, I decided to ignore it and asked him.

"Hey what should do next Kaigo?" I asked with enthusiasm in my voice. Kaigo chuckled even more, "What's so funny?"

Kaigo stopped chuckling and replied with a carefree smile while scratching his right cheek, "I've never seen you this excited, and well… I guess you look kinda cute right now!"

With that casual comment from Kaigo, I blushed and began to reflect on all the times we spent together, from our first encounter, to the time I invited him to move in with me, from when he protected me from all those spears, from when he confided and even now. Throughout the entirety of the events I've experienced emotions that I thought were impossible to feel again such as: Comfort, ease, happiness from the heart and love, truly I was happy that I met Kaigo.

Thanks Kaigo, I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I said telepathically wiping some tears away.

Why? All I did was compliment you. Kaigo questioned.

Oh Kaigo… you'll understand soon enough.

With that comment me and Kaigo enjoyed our time in the theme park going on all the thrilling rides. By the time we got off the last attraction the black haired boy suggested that we head over to the restaurant for dinner. I complied with this and again clung to Kaigo's arm as we began our way. On our way out of the amusement park, Kaigo was able to retrieve his confiscated knife from the security guard. And with that we headed on our way towards the nearest restaurant.

The black haired Nekomata seemed slightly flustered, probably because of the position he was in. I gently chuckled and a question popped into my mind, so I decided to enquire about it.

"Hey Kaigo, if you also lived in the underworld without realizing it, then how come you know what a theme park is?"

"Well, during my time in the forest a lion was chasing me out of the forest, I managed to lose it in once I headed towards the city, but I became lost and had nowhere to stay for the night. That's when I saw the dazzling lights coming from the amusement park, I snuck in when the guards weren't paying attention and started to go on all the attractions,"

As soon as Kaigo finished his answer we were already at the restaurant. I didn't catch the name of it, but I didn't need it to help comprehend how clichè it looked. There were only single tables with chairs on opposite ends, a white see-through cloth on the table and three candles shaped like the end of a trident. This was definitely the best place for a date.

We both sat down and the waiter addressed us as 'love birds' ,from that claim Kaigo seemed completely dazed so I took the liberty of ordering.

"We'll have the steak for two, and salad on the side please," I answered in my usual monotone voice.

"Okay, what about drinks?" the waiter asked.

"Just two waters," I replied blankly.

"Okay, coming right up!" the waiter cheered as he trailed off into the back.

Kaigo still seemed to be dazed at the silly name the writer gave us, so I thought that instead of using my voice to snap him out of the trance. I'd use my lips…

As I swiftly leant forward he seemed to snap back into reality by himself, however before he knew what was going one I gave him a short, but passionate kiss on the cheek.

As I pulled away and returned to my seat Kaigo didn't say a thing but gaze at me with widened eyes and gently smiled. It seemed I was successful in waking him up. Once the food came, we both ate to our heart's content. When we finished our meal, Kaigo paid and judging by his facial expression, had seemed to lose his entire daily allowance. I again chuckled as he approached me at the exit.

"Thanks Kaigo, I had a really good time today," I casually said as we walked side by side on the pavement.

"What do you mean 'had' the date's not over yet!" Kaigo said with a pleasant smile.

"Where else is their to go?" I questioned.

"You'll see," Kaigo replied.

We took a detour from the way home and Kaigo led me to a bridge, not too far away from the palace. We stopped in the middle of this bridge and took in a view that seemed even more better than the one on the mountain.

The sun was in its 'golden hour', so the water lit up with all sorts of colours, deriving from a vibrant orange to a radiant crimson to a succulent pink. There was a single boat passing by, so the waters constantly rippled and caused a mirage that made it seem like glints of light within the river. The city was also coated in the same golden silhouette just like when I first me Kaigo.

A tender touch on my shoulder snapped me out of my trance.

"C'mon, Issei and the others are probably getting worried about our absence," Kaigo said while turning.

I nodded and began to follow him, we again walked side by side.

Once we were around a block away from the house, we turned a corner and bumped into someone. She seemed to dropped something so Kaigo apologized and knelt down to collect it, however as soon as he crouched down I spotted a glimpse of a maliciously smile, and with that I knew that Kaigo was in danger.

Without thinking I covered his body and mine and was able to stop the light lance that remained only centimetres away from his left eye. It hurt so much, but I refused to fall limp if Kaigo could take several spears that a single lance should be nothing for me. With all my willpower I tugged to lance out of gut and began to heal itself, however I didn't notice Kaigo's infuriated look. I tried to stop him from engaging into the fight, our best bet was to work together after all. But it was all in vain as he summoned his cat ears and tails and shot up towards the now flying, fallen angel.

Kaigo's POV

Nothing but rage filled my mind when I saw the state of Koneko and the blunder I had made. Before it was happiness, joy and carefreeness, but now it was rage.

As I flying through the air, I infused my knife with much more sage power than usual. This caused the red blade to become completely engulfed in the blue aura, extending it to about a length of a short sword.

I used the same technique as I did in my first fight, when I raised my knife and brought it down while using my free hand to jab her straight in between the eyes. However once I raised my left fist she had a light lance locked, loaded and ready to fire directly at my head at point blank range. She also caught my right my wrist, so I couldn't move out of the way even if I wanted to.

Kaigo use your wings!

And with those instructions I automatically sprouted my wings and maneuvered out of the way.

With the attacker still holding on my right arm, I tossed my knife into my left and jabbed it through both of our arms, assuring it was lodged in their.

The pain was immense, but I was still blinded by rage, by a newfound lust for my enemy. I began to dive bomb towards the concrete, flipping the fallen beneath ne a I had my elbow wedged up against her throat, as soon as we hit the ground, she'd be done for. As we were about 10 metres from the ground I felt something pierce my chest, however I was still too blinded by my rage to take any note of hit. We hit the ground… hard. As the dust cleared up I noticed that the fallen angel was still alive, no it was more that my elbow was barely floating above her throat, I pushed harder, but their was a force stopping me and it only seemed to be getting stronger and stronger as the seconds passed by.

Eventually it was strong enough to push me back, surprised by this I ripped the knife that was sticking our arms together out and bounced backwards about 6 metres.

My instincts were screaming at me to run, to retreat, to flee, however my mind didn't comply this time as I readied myself for another atta-

A sharp pain stung my cheek and I was sent sprawling to the ground… WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!

As my vision refocused from the sudden pain my cheek had experienced I saw a short white haired figure with a single tear streak imprinted on its face… it was Koneko.

As I stood up all rage had seized to exist as I looked her in the eye with confusion and softly asked.

"Why?"

And with that her stoic expression transformed into something I never saw before, tears were rolling down the white kitten's face as her lip was curled and her left arm raised to her chest. WIth that Koneko shot into my chest, knocking us both down, and started crying.

"You almost died Kaigo… twice," the white haired girl wepted. "Do you know how it felt… to see you take on all those wounds, to see you take on all that damage, to nearly die!"

The moment she mentioned 'wounds' I looked upon my chest and saw a bit of my heart exposed. I mean how do you get that close to the heart without piercing it. I didn't feel any pain, not because that Koneko was healing me but because I felt all her emotions, her feeling behind Koneko's tears and embrace.

"Promise me these two things," she stated with cracks in her voice while she rose from my body, still mounted on top of me. I gazed into her now glinting amber eyes as tears fell from her chin and onto my neck, this was a sight that became engraved within my soul, right next to the look my sister gave me, "That you will never worry me like that again and you'll never be overcome by your rage, even when confronting Rias,"

"I promise… swear on my life," I gently muttered as Koneko got off my body, half healing all my injuries.

I guess that's all she could manage after healing herself, oh well… this will suffice.

"Are you to now done with whatever you were doing, hmm?" the attacker asked out of annoyance.

With that comment our heads snapped towards her and we sprung into action.

We both bounced around the streets. I used my wings as pivot points in the air and Koneko would count on me for her pivot point, for some reason Koneko didn't sprout out her demon wings, but that was the least of the problems that was bestowed upon us. The worst of our problems was this stupid bubble of air that was protecting the fallen angel.

Every time we attacked, Koneko would count us down telepathically and our attacks would always be stopped by this immense force.

Kaigo, I think I know why our attacks aren't hitting her

Yeah me too, there's a bubble around her and we can't penetrate through it.

So what should we do?

I've got an idea, you try to axe kick her from behind, then on your second axe kick infuse it with sage power.

How will I do a second mid-air axe after executing one.

Just trust me.

With these instructions Koneko started the countdown and our non-moving attacker remained still didn't move a muscle, I guess she wanted to wear ourselves out.

Once Koneko said go she was behind the fallen and had wined up a pretty powerful axe kick, however like all the other attacks it stopped just millimetres away from the still target. But I appeared behind Koneko and gripped her arm while swinging her around with immense velocity. Now if this attack filled with extra momentum and sage power couldn't penetrate and inflict some damage then nothing will.

It was a success! Koneko's heel had made a dent in the vixen's head, blood started to gush out. She shrieked and winced in pain as we dashed out to gather our bearings and extra sage power.

Within a few seconds we both rushed in again, Koneko delivered a straight jab, that was stopped dead in its tracks, but I implanted my feet in the ground and swung Koneko clockwise towards her injured arm, the white haired girl whipped over and struck the attacker with a devastation back hand, however we weren't done there. Koneko used her fist to grapple onto her neck and hoist herself over and into the air, while still holding onto to me she spun around and lobbed me over at the half-dead corpse, my knife was readied and my trajectory was perfect as I slit a clean line of blood down her throat, and with that she fell limp.

The battle was over and we had defeated yet another fallen angel.

Koneko landed and swiftly said

"Well that was much easier when we worked together huh?"

With that comment I turned and began our way back home, Koneko again clung onto my arm as we walked, but I did nothing but smile as I learned a new side of her that probably NO ONE had seen before.
