-Isabelle's POV-
May sat down on the couch of Prof. Oak in his office while I sat on his desk.
Boy, Drew's gang is really persistent when they said they wanted to hear the story about the guardians.
"Well?" Gary asked, impatiently as Professor showed the gems for the rest to see.
"Remember the story I used to tell you when you were young, Gary?" He asked him, calmly.
He nodded.
"What story?" Ash asked him as Professor motioned for all of them to sit down while I crossed my arms.
I sighed. Here it goes... "Do you want to hear it or not?" I asked, making all of them look at me.
"Who's telling the story?" Dawn asked.
I took a deep breath and raised my hand awkwardly.
Once there was a huge continent. This continent had been so large that Arceus had thought wouldn't be a good place to live in.
"Are you telling us a story or are you lecturing us with history?" Drew sneered.
I rolled my eyes at his statement. "Shut up."
In order for his will to be fulfilled, the bodies of water had became an instrument to break the continent.
"It really sounds like you are lecturing us." He commented once more.
I glared at him. "Shut that mouth of yours or I will shut it for you. Your choice then."
That shut him up.
Slowly, the huge continent had drifted apart and thus, the 5 regions had formed.
I paused. This should be a question to them.
Apparently, only Logan had caught up.
"Johto."
Misty looked at him befor looking at me. "Kanto."
Dawn beamed at me. "Sinnoh!"
"Hoenn." May said, putting in her idea.
"And of course, the region you had yet to discover, Unova." Professor Oak had said as he put his hand on my shoulder.
"I'll handle the storytelling now, dear."
I beamed at him. He knows that I don't like speaking. I only communicate with my mind since it is much easier to elaborate than to speak. I had to throw my mind off to people for them to understand.
The world is slowly inhabited by pokemon. They had the world to themselves for them to roam around freely.
Eventually, mankind was brought to take care of the pokemon. Their main purpose is to protect it.
All good things must have bad things to contain the balance of the world. Now the bad thing that Arceus had created? It's called 'The darkness'
The darkness is a mystery to everyone who would come across it. They do not know where it came from or why is it here So what the humans did was to leave it alone; unaware that it has an evil inside of it. Concealed and trapped in the deepest parts of the world, it is slowly gaining strength to destroy the world and wipe out the humankind.
One foolish human, Brendelle was her name, was drawn to the power emitted by the darkness so she did the stupidest thing, not knowing of what the consequence.
May raised her hand. "Are there any descendant if Brendelle's that ar alive right now?" By then, all of the attention was bestowed upon her. She shrank into her seat. "Well, you- you know, s-s-since we are here..." She stammered.
Professor's expression darkened. "I'm afraid so, dear."
I knew it.
She had freed the darkness. She had became the pawn of the darkness making her the first mistress of evil.
As a result of her stupidity, darkness spread throughout the regions. Engulfing the once clear skies with grey ones. Filling the people's emotions with despair and anguish.
Arceus and the other legendary pokemon pitied the people whom had protected the world he created. So what they did was to appoint guardians. Guardians that would protect the inhabitants of this world.
They were the bravest among the brave, cleverest among all there was.
Their appointment as guardians isn't easy as it sounds for it needs to be picked out carefully.
Arceus and the legendaries had given them tests. Each of them are to surpass in order to be a guardian.
The test of Determination, Trust, Love, Hope, Respect, Fun, Memories, Control, Protection, and Bravery.
"Isn't there a prophecy?" May whispered to me.
I nodded.
The first guardians that were ever to rise up were the guardians of Johto: Irene and Lucas.
Professor had beckoned for me to hand over the drawings I had made, prior to the time that I've met Drew and his gang.
The first three drawings were about what Prof said.
The first one was a girl who had a girl kneeling in fromt of a little girl, trying to ruffle her hair as the girl tackled her into a hug. "This is Irene."
Johto guardian Irene possessed the aquamarine gem. She had became the guardian when she had gone through tortures and pain and sacrifced her freedom because of her sister's actions. When she was in the verge of dying, she had obtained a necklace that was shaped like a snowflake with an aquamarine gem in it's center.
Seeing that she had done a lot of things, she was rewarded greatly by Arceus. Though she carried within her a curse. A curse that is bound to be fulfilled at the end of the time.
Professorshowed them another one, this time a guy who is hugging an innocent bystander as the ray of light hit the guy.
"This is Lucas." He had said.
This time he showed another portrait of the same couple this time, posing in front of the famous, Mt. Silver. This time, they were focused at one shadow man as they showed fierceness into their emotions. Their necklaces were glowing.
Ruling beside her is Johto guardian Lucas who possessed the sapphire gem. He had became a guardian when he had protected an innocent bystander by the dark light that was about to hit her. Since it was directed from the power of the darkness, no one was bound to survive it yet he managed to withstand it because of the newfound power Arceus gave to him, along with a necklace that was shaped like new moon. Sitting on it's corner was the sapphire gem that seemed to contrast the darkness of his necklace.
"Is that..." Logan started as he caught my eye.
I nodded at him.
'Looks like you.' I told him.
His eyes widened at my attempt to communicate with him.
They are the protectors of Johto. They had sworn to be just and valiant at all times.
"You're telling me that that was me?" Logan asked, trying to comprehend what Professor had said.
"No." I said, catching his attention back to me. "That wasn't entirely you. You are his descendant. "That's your ancestor, capishe?"
He furrowed his eyebrows but said nothing.
After the coronation of the guardians of johto, there were two who had risen as well in the region of Hoenn.
The guardians: Michelle and Dylan.
Professor had chosen another set of my drawings.
The first one was a guy. He has this grief-stricken look as he cradle what could pass as Irene. The girl looked like she was struck and that her life force is slowly slipping away.
Drew snatched the drawing away from him. "What the heck?!"
I couldn't read his facial expression. But I could read his emotions.
Grief.
Nervousness.
Anxiety.
Regret.
'What's going on?'
'He's grieving.' May's voice said in my head.
'Why? You know I can only look inside their emotions, not their memories...' I told her.
She shook her head. 'His sister has died long before.'
My eyebrows furrowed. Died? Sister?
'What do you mean?'
She offered her hand to me, in which I gladly accepted.
Then, every single memories of Drew cam flashing before my eyes.
This is what May sees that I don't see.
I have limitations when it comes to abilities.
'Obviously, he's not over it yet.'
Dylan has possessed the emerald gem. He had done the same way Irene had except he didn't do it out of love. He wasn't almost killed. His memories about his past life was removed and because of that, Arceus had restored him his memories along was an entrustment of a dreamcatcher necklace made entirely of emerald.
May shot me a look. 'Is it me?'
I nodded. As I showed her a piece of my drawing. The girl in the picture is looking a bit angry at something that is unidentified. Her hands were on fire and I think my point has been pointed out.
Michelle however was the hard case. She was already seeking for the mistress and has tried to fend her off but a mere mortal wasn't enough to put an end to the mistress. Her determination to protect the people around her had pleased Arceus so she had receieved a necklace- flame flickering inside a flame ruby pendant.
And thus, two sets of guardians already existed to protect their respective regions.
But each and every day, darkness is getting stronger as Brendelle recruits more and more minions.
And so because of that, the Kanto legendaries had took it upon themselves to seek the persons that are worthy being called as guardians.
Mikayla and Anthony had been chosen.
Misty and Ash's ears perked up when they heard the names of the guardians of Kanto.
"Us?" Misty asked.
Professor Oak nodded, showing both of them the drawing of the Knato guardians.
In all honesty, Mikayla isn't really one that you will call worthy for she may have everything they see in a guardian except for one thing. Trust. She doesn't trust people around her. She doesn't believe that she has the power to save humankind. Trust is one thing that he lacked and that she doesn't have even after she became a guardian. Because of her lack of trust, Arceus didn't give her a necklace. Not until she found her partner; Anthony.
Anthony, like her, has the traits of a guardian except for one thing: his hope. He doesn't feel, nor he doesn't wish for something. He just done it because he had the felt to do so. Like Mikayla, he wasn't rewarded with a necklace.
During one of the journey, they had met. Mikayla and Anthony and they were put into a test. A trial. Because of lack of trust and hope, both of them were taken down easily. Understanding the consequence, Anthony had started to had hope. Hope that they will withstand this and that they would come out victoriously. He had told Mikayla of that. And thus, he was rewarded by Arceus, a necklace that had shaped like a shinning sun with garnet stones.
Mikayla had watched the scene unfold and had decided that if Anthony had faith on her, she should too. So she had begun to trust him more. Because of that run in with the demons of the darkness, she had received her necklace; a teardrop of amber was given to her.
Together, they had became the guardians of Kanto.
"So what you were trying to say is that we aren't worthy of becoming guardians of Kanto?" Misty asked, her voice is raising.
I rolled my eyes. "Weren't you listening? Prof told you a story of your ancestors. Same mistakes can't happen twice."
They all looked at me, weirdly.
Images flashed before my eyes. I shouldn't have jinxed it.
Two regions are left unguarded. Brendelle had took advantage of it by sending out demons to haunt Unova and Sinnoh.
At the same time, one guy in Sinnoh had the pleasure of taking out his sister on a skate on ice when the shadows and demons had attacked. Unfortunate moment since this sister of his had been released from the hospital that day. His sister had a traumatic experience. And that once she's scared of her wits again, she would be put in a mental hospital for good.
I looked at Paul who looked like he doesn't believe in this crap.
It turns out that I was right since I heard him scoff and rolled his eyes.
Patrick, that guy's name did the most unthinkable thing happen. He made his sister happy and that he had made her think they were having fun instead of being scared. Not only did he save his sister from her doom, but also, he had earned the right of becoming the region's guardian. In his possession lies a black cross with an amethyst gem.
The same time he was crowned as a guardian, another guardian rose in a different region. Unova.
A girl who was born during the full moon had reached the age of fulfilling her destiny. She was sent in the north mountains to train and to be tested as foretold. There she met one of the unova's legendary and had battled it. She was controlled by it during one time and that it was almost leading her to her death when she had resumed her full control of herself, making her a guardian, the very first with a legendary as a mentor.
As for the last two guardians, they were chosen out of their purity.
A guy from Unova that can run really fast, and a girl from Sinnoh who had tried really hard to make everyone happy even when Darkness had taken over.
These guardians are the ones that will help the mankind.
These are the guardians who had swore to protect every one.
These guardians had bestowed themselves upon you.
This will be your story now.
-?'s POV-
Listen to your story well, my dear guardians...
Listen to the reasons of your downfall.
Took me long enough to write this.
hope you like it!
