I checked on Suzie to make sure she was sleeping well and I came back down to find Emmett opening the door to Lauren and a sleepy looking Masen, she wasn't even carrying him. I looked at her and she looked nervous so I welcomed her in and I picked up Masen. He smiled at me and laid his head on my shoulder. I asked him if he was hungry and he shook his head yes so we went to the kitchen to get pizza and soda. I watched him eat and he watched me watch him. He didn't look too much like Edward if not at all, if he was a part of the Masen/Cullen family you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at him.
"Masen honey have you even seen a picture of your daddy?" I asked sitting beside him
"No ma'am. Mommy says he might not wike me." Masen whispered. God damn Lauren feeding him lies. If he is Edward's I know he would love Masen with his life. I cleaned up after Masen and he walked out with me to the living room. We were sitting just looking at each other when I heard the door open and I knew Edward and Rose had arrived.
"Bella what is the issue?" Rose asked pulling me into a hug and she gasped when her eyes landed on Lauren
"Laur wow it has been so long." Rose said walking over to Lauren and Lauren just sat there looking shameful
"Bella." Edward said looking like he was scared as hell and I wanted to grab him by his balls and drag him around the city
"Sit down and let's talk about this like mature adults." I said sitting by Emmett with Rose and Edward on the love seat beside us and Lauren on the couch across from us. Masen kept looking at me then would look away and I smiled at him.
"Masen would you like to watch a movie or something while we adults talk?" I asked and he nodded his head. I grabbed him a few snacks and a drink and took him to the entertainment room to watch the same movie we watched early. I pulled him out a cover and made sure he was comfortable. I walked back into awkward silence and it was very uncomfortable.
"What is all of this about Bella?" Rose asked eyeing me
"Who wants to start?" I asked looking between Edward and Lauren
"I will but first I need everyone to hear me out before trying to kill me." Edward said looking at Rose, we all nodded out heads for him to continue.
"Okay so Rosalie and I were on a break my senior year her junior year and I went to a party and I was still upset about the break or whatever and I was drunk and it was like the last week of February I think and I had sex with Lauren without thinking twice." Edward said pulling at his hair
"You told me you didn't even look at another girl. You told me I was always on your mind and I was the only girl worth looking at. We agreed we wouldn't attempt to get physical with people and you lied when you told me you didn't. As a matter of fact we got back together that March." Rose said her voice leveled and she looked calm but she had gotten up and looked out the window
"Baby I was drunk as fuck that I can remember the sex was and still is a fuzzy memory." Edward said about to get up but sat back down
"That doesn't mean a damn thing when it seems the adorable little Masen could be yours I am assuming that's why she is here." Rose said looking at Lauren
"Rose I swear I didn't know it was a temporary break."
"Oh please the whole damn town knew it was temporary, you've been at his dick as soon as you found out what one was this is no surprise."
"Ro calm down." Emmett said and she took a deep breath
"Em I am calm, I could be kicking somebody's ass right now but I'm not. Bella how long have you know?" Rose asked me
"I just found out tonight that's why everyone is here now." I said and she cut her eyes at Emmett
"Em?" she asked
"He told me a few weeks after it happened." He said avoiding her eyes
"I just love when my boyfriend and brother to keep secrets from me all these years and now the shit has hit the fan and you both look as shitty as you should feel." Rose said going into my kitchen I heard glasses clinking and that meant she was either pouring her a class of wine or some liquor to calm her nerves. She came back with wine that I was thankful for because she would go crazy after a bottle of the hard stuff.
"Is he mine?" Edward asked his voice barely about a whisper
"Well I did a paternity test on the guy I did after you and the one after him and they didn't match. I barely remembered that night but I did remember you so I came looking for you I am assuming you're the only one left in the time frame. The shit adds up if you don't believe me. It was the end of February, I usual get my period beginning of March and I didn't and I saw the doc and here I am pregnant and then Jonathan Masen Mallory came out 5 pounds 6 ounces. My parents basically kicked me to the curb because their words were 'they didn't raise a whore.' I had no one so I work at the diner trying to make a living for us two. It's been hell and if it wasn't for the fact that my parents would literally kill me for killing Masen even if they didn't want me to be pregnant but they are definitely prolife." Lauren said
"Why does he have bruises?" I asked
"He is a kid he falls a lot." Lauren said
"Bullshit they are on the top of his arms and on his back. Suzie told me he said you were mean to him." I said getting agitated
"She is probably a lying brat." Lauren spat and Rose and I stood up, Rose loves Suzie just as much as I do.
"Talk about her again and I will rearrange your face." Rose growled and Emmett sat her down on the couch
"Suzie is very sweet she wouldn't lie." Edward said
"Whatever do you want your kid or not?" Lauren asked
"He is just as much your as he is possibly mine." Edward said
"Look I can't take care of him and me so I would rather give him up."
"You're a selfish bitch that is your kid you're talking about Lauren." Rose yelled
"I gave up 7 years of my life taking care of him I deserve some space." She said back
"I want a paternity test and if he isn't mine one of us will adopt him because you're an unfit mother." Edward said getting up and going to my kitchen
"My lawyers have already pulled papers together you can have him without any worries" Lauren said getting up and walking towards the entertainment room
"Lauren don't you dare get him up, he is staying here tonight and with me or one of us until you leave and we will be back to Forks to go to court." Edward said
"Fine whatever." Lauren said grabbing her things
"Lauren before you go I want you to know you're an ungrateful person. God gave you the best gift and you just give him away without even thinking about it. Maybe it is better that you won't be in his life. We can't erase the memory of you from his life but we'll make sure the life ahead of him is better than you can imagine." I said and a flicker of pain flashed in her eyes before she turned to walk out but then turned around
"That's all I could ever ask for." She whispered
"Uh Bewa the movie went off." Masen said and his eyes were focused on his mother leaving
"Masen you're um staying with Bella for a while and I will bring the rest of your things to you tomorrow or something." Lauren said not looking at him
"Reawie?" Masen asked his eyes hopeful as he looked up at me
"Yeah bud but first your mommy wants to introduce you to someone." I said using my eyes to tell Lauren to introduce the kid to his father.
"Masen um this is your dad, Edward Cullen." Lauren said pushing him in front of Edward. They stared at each other for a while and Masen started crying. Edward looked bewildered but he picked Masen up and Masen wrapped his arms around Edward's neck tightly. We watched in amazement as Edward calmed him down and got him to talk.
"Hey buddy why you crying?" Edward asked putting him down and bending down in front of him.
"Mommy said that I would never meet my daddy but but but I get to meet you and you don't wook wike you hate me. Pwus I have awways wanted a daddy." He said sniffling and hiccupping. Edward glared at Lauren and she took a step back.
"Lauren we will discuss things in front of a lawyer so for now please go." Edward said in a clipped tone.
"As you can see he has trouble with his 'L's' sometimes. Masen give me a hug." Lauren said and Masen was hesitant before walking over to Lauren and giving him a hug when she released him he ran back over to Edward and held onto his leg, looking up at him with nothing but admiration in his eyes. Lauren said goodbye and was soon gone.
"Edward can we talk?" Rose said
"Wait Edward are you weaving me?" Masen asked
"No bud Rosalie and I are going to talk in Bella's room and I promise to be back." He said kneeling in front of Masen and ruffling his hair.
"Aunt Bella can I…Masen!" Suzie screamed and pulled Masen into a hug and he gave her a lop sided grin and I knew then that was Edward's kid.
"Hey Suzie. I wike your teddy bear." Masen said grinning
"Aunt Bella got it for me today." She said
"We can get you one tomorrow Masen okay?" I asked and he smiled and nodded his head
"Can we watch another movie please?" Suzie asked pouting
"It's a bit late so do you want to sleep on the floor?" I asked
"We can make a big blanket bed like we did last time." Suzie squealed and it reminded me of Alice
"Okay well I will be there in a minute to help." I said and Suzie grabbed Masen's hand and they were off. I watched them until I couldn't see them anymore and I turned to Emmett looking at me the way Masen was looking at Edward.
"You're perfect you know that right?" he asked pulling me into him by waist.
My breath got caught in my throat and I couldn't help but stare deeply into his eyes. We moved closer to one another and his breath fanned over my face. I stood on my tip toes and his lips touched mine first. Warmth spread through me as our lips molded together and moved in synch. I parted my lips and slid my tongue along his bottom one and he sucked my tongue into his mouth. Fuck he has such a talented tongue. I started to feel the effects of not breathing so I pulled back and looked into his hooded eyes, I am sure mine reflected the same thing. He pulled me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist as I deepened the kiss. His tongue swirled around mine and eventually dominated it making me whimper.
"Aw Aunt Bella not you too, you look just like mommy and daddy." Suzie said pouting and Masen had his eyes covered.
I blushed as I took my legs from around Emmett's waist. He winked at me before we followed behind the kids into the entertainment room. We all worked together to get the blankets out and they wanted to watch Lion King so we put it in and sat with them. Soon Rose and Edward came in and we went back to the living room to talk to them.
"Is everything okay?" I asked and they looked at each other
"Yeah we're good, we're a bit a young but I think we're ready to take care of a kid and if he isn't mine we will still adopt." Edward said and Rose intertwined their fingers.
"Edward." Masen's small voice caused us to turn around
"Yeah bud?" Edward asked
"I missed you from the wittle bit of time you were gone." He said looking down and causing us all to smile
"Come here Masen." Edward said and Masen came to sit in his lap
"Masen this is my girlfriend Rosalie but you can call her Rose." Edward said and Masen blushed and Rose smiled
"Hey Masen it is nice to meet you." Rose said shaking his hand
"You're pretty." Masen whispered and Rose laughed
"And you're handsome little guy." Rose said tickling his side and he giggled
"Are you and Edward gonna stay too?" he asked
"Not tonight bud but we will see you tomorrow pinky promise. You get to stay with Bella and Emmett tonight." Edward said and Masen had a sad smile
"You promise to be back?" he asked and Edward nodded
"Masen you're missing to movie." Suzie whined and Masen gave Edward and Rose a hug before running off with Suzie.
"He is just too cute." Rose said looking in the general direction they went
"You two are great with him already." Emmett said
"I can't believe I will be a father." Edward said
"Well I am an uncle now and Esme gets to be a grandma and Renee is going love that title too. You think Aunt Elizabeth will be okay with it?" Emmett asked
"Hell I don't know the woman is so damn difficult sometimes but I love my mother." Edward said
"Well I love you guys but I am going to go home I am tired." Rose said and we got up and hugged each other. They went and told Masen and Suzie bye and Masen hugged Edward for the longest it was so sweet. We said goodnight and watched the movie with the two boogers for a little while.
"I'm going to go ahead to bed." I said and Emmett got up as well
"I um do you mind well I damn…" Emmett trailed off
"Come to my room? Yea I sleep better when you're there either way." I said grabbing his hand and walking with him to my room. We crawled in and snuggled into one another.
"That was a nice kiss." I said
"Best I've ever had. Where do we go from here?" Emmett asked
"I don't honestly know Em but right now I need some sleep tonight has been draining. So good night Em." I said yawning
"Good night beautiful." He said kissing my forehead.
Finally first kiss down, another night of sleeping beside one another, check! So Lauren is a mess is she not? Oh and Rose handled it a lot better than I thought she would well except we don't know what she said in their private talk. Yada, yada lets get to the good stuff...That kiss though! I am like yes finally! They need to speed it up in my opinion. Oh wait I am the writer I am in control of that! LOL I have got to stop this whole talking to myself. I just feel like Suzie and Masen are going to be really good friends maybe even best friends. Wait we're gonna have to do something about his last name especially because Edward is a Masen and Masen's name is Masen we'll see what happens. Talk to me guys, review review review!
