Ellie flopped onto the bottom bed with a groan, still in her secondhand uniform.
Riley swung down from the top bunk and sat next to her friend, sighing.
"Who fucked up this time?"
"Not me, for once. It was fucking Bobby," Ellie replied, her voice muffled by the mattress. "Dick screwed up our timing."
Riley hummed sympathetically and pulled the rubber band out of Ellie's hair. "So why are you crashing in my room?"
Ellie didn't reply.
Riley poked her shoulder. Out like a light.
She shook her head, smiling slightly, and carded her fingers through Ellie's hair.
"Goodnight, dork."
