Thank you for the lovely reviews and here is chapter 7. Just to let you know it does a bit of recapping on what Megamind and Roxanne have been up to and leads to the scene of the mental argument. Enjoy!

The room was cool and often she found herself shivering even beneath the covers. 'God! Could Megamind make this room any colder?' Roxanne thought as she curled up in the bed, she never even heard the door open and close. Soon she felt a pair of hands slide up her legs from beneath the covers. She shivered knowing it was Megamind.

'I heard you were cold, and came to warm you.' He crawled up on top of her and soon his head appeared from beneath the covers. His lips pressed to hers making her moan softly. His warm hands ran freely over her causing her to shiver. She soon realized he was stripped down before sneaking into bed, ever since he had kidnapped and bonded with her, he was seducing her nightly.

The energetic alien often wore her out, but she knew the second reason for this. He avoided it like the plague, if allowed he knew she would ask to go home, return to work, see her friends and family. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, oh he certainly trusted her; but it was other people he did not trust. If others knew she was with the city's villain, they'd take her away and try to convince her that it was wrong and she was ill.

Roxanne tried more than once to convince him that his fears were irrational and he had nothing to fear. No one would stop him or try to keep them apart any more; Metro Man was gone after all. Megamind knew all this, but still refused to let her go and avoided conversations on it. Over time the attempts to have these conversations grew more frequent and he if in her presence would distract her by seducing her until her logic took a vacation.

This was one of those times, as Megamind's lips trailed down to her neck and his fingers unbuttoned his sleep shirt she was wearing. Her pyjamas were being washed by Minion whom also made her some nice clothes to wear even stuck in this room as she was. "Megamind, we have to talk."

"No I'm pretty sure I need to keep you warm, it will be easier with your- well my clothes off of you." He teased.

"But this is important, I need to be allowed my freedom at least a little. My friends and family will be worried as it is, and I may not have a job to go back to after all this." She pleaded, and he hesitated the thought came to mind to use her trick, after all it always worked. But he quickly covered her mouth with his hand.

"Oh no you don't, forgetting I can hear your thoughts already Roxanne? No using the 'please trick' on me missy." Well there went that plan, or perhaps.

'Please Megamind; I need to have some freedom. Let me return to my apartment. I'll get some clothes, my cell, and laptop. Let me reassure those close to me so that they won't worry. Maybe my boss James will let me keep my job if I can just speak to him. If you want Minion can accompany me, and I'll return to the lair, I promise! Please!'

Her mental pleading was too much as she heard Megamind's thoughts, her please trick also worked mentally. He sighed giving in he voiced it. "Alright, tomorrow afternoon we will go to your apartment and get some things. You can call your loved ones and let them know your okay, but no telling them where you've been or where you're going to be. As for your boss, no telling him that you will be with me, no one is to know where you are, understand?"

Roxanne nodded excitedly, it was a relief to be allowed this much at least, normally she would have complained about how controlling a guy could be, but she had seen what this bond had done to him for the past ten years. He had a right to be possessive and fearful, but at least he was also trying to keep her happy. "Thank you, I am sure I can tell James, something... and I am owed time off. Thank you."

By then her eyes had adjusted to the darkness and she saw him smile he was always happy when he made her happy. Roxanne couldn't help it, she spoke up after a moment. "Now you were talking of warming me? What happened? I'm getting cold here."

"Oh my apologies, my dear. I'll warm you up right away." He chuckled before returning to kissing and caressing her. Soon the pair were making love, repeatedly until Roxanne dosed off against him.

It was not until the next day that Roxanne awoke alone, and knew Megamind was working. His thoughts often turned erratic as he worked. His thought patterns hard to keep up with as he considered a dozen variables in a machine. Like his thoughts had had too many coffees and the thoughts were one endless sentence. It could be highly confusing and gave her a headache at times if she listened to his thoughts too closely.

She had to wonder why he kept creating machines of mass destruction, when he already owned the City. It must have become a hobby to simply build things. Often his thoughts considered how the machine would best beat Metro Man and he had to remind himself more than once that Metro Man was dead. Roxanne learned shortly after the bond, that Megamind missed Metro Man in a way. Still he loved inventing things and he was rather cute when he got excited and started welding things. 'Just because I am in the lab working does not mean I can not hear your thoughts, Temptress!'

'Well than you should not be so adorable with those goggles on, and you working.'

'Wait how can you see me? You're upstairs and can only hear my thoughts. 'Megamind thought puzzled

'You glanced at the computer screen and saw your reflection; you also thought you looked rather silly. In truth you look so cute when you're working.' Roxanne said as she pictured him again in her mind as he had glanced at the monitors with his goggles on and was mentally admiring him. By then she knew the blue villain was a lovely shade of purple. 'I'll go shower now, umm after breakfast are you still taking me to my apartment?'

'Absolutely, you go get ready. We'll leave after breakfast.' Megamind replied as he returned to work. Heading into the bathroom she showered, and dried. She picked out something from the assortment of clothes Minion had made, and the shoes she had asked him to get her.

She chose a white tank top, and blue jean Capri trousers with many pockets. She slipped on the pair of black slip on shoes, and looked at herself in the mirror considering her appearance.

'You look beautiful, no matter what.' Megamind's thoughts came, still so affectionate.

'I think your opinion is bias.' She teased

'Never! My superior intelligence means I am never bias. I speak the truth, you my nosy reporter are beautiful no matter what you wear! Or do not wear.'

'Yep definitely bias.' Roxanne teased, then she heard the thoughts turn frantic as an alert came up on the monitor. Someone had entered the lair. She practically saw through Megamind's eyes as he went to the monitor and typed some keys allowing the security cameras to come up. Sure enough two people had fallen through the invisible wall.

Megamind called for Minion and the pair hid, waiting to ambush the pair. Thus far one of them wore a cap, so no one could see their face clearly, but Roxanne had a feeling she knew who this person was. The intruders were moving cautiously as they entered Megamind's work area. The one in the cap seemed to be the leader, for they headed for the monitors whispering.

However it was then they saw the screens on, and the main one watching them! They looked up to see the brain bot recording them. Megamind made his grand entrance and both turned to face him. It was then through Megamind's eyes that Roxanne saw the one with the cap, and cried out Dani's name.

She felt Megamind get a bit jealous as he made the automatic assumption that the strange man in glasses was Dani, and directed his gun at him. Roxanne had been about to tell Megamind that Dani was a girl, but Dani was a quick one. Roxanne winced as Dani kicked the De-gun from Megamind's hand and a fight broke out. Soon the blue villain pinned the scrawny girl down. Dani's hat fell away and her hair tie slipped.

Megamind had considered dehydrating the girl if he could get to his gun, but Roxanne's panicked thoughts kept him from focusing efforts to go for his De-gun. Then that other man told him to get off of Dani, and to avoid being shot by the ray gun the man held, Megamind obeyed. The girl quickly rolled away and to her feet. Megamind was shocked to learn the scrawny girl, not the man was Dani. She gave a typical smirk and told him what Dani was short for.

Roxanne hadn't realised it, but she was at the room door wanting out to see her outspoken friend. She was overjoyed to see her even through Megamind's eyes. The pair shared brief comments when Dani came to the door to find only a key pad. Thus she went back to ask 'nicely' for the door to be opened. 'Megamind please! She is my best friend and she is rarely nice to people that get on her bad side. She will be particularly agitated with you for holding me for 3 weeks, and if you hurt her I'll never forgive you!'

The firm thoughts had Megamind wincing, as he realised he could not harm Dani without losing Roxanne. But Dani was the type to not give up. He knew he had to concede defeat in this, and felt his fears becoming a reality. "Fine, I'll release her."

He hit a button on his watch and Roxanne saw the door slid open to her room. She dashed out not wanting to waste a moment. "Dani!"

Seeing her best friend for herself was wonderful, as Roxanne rushed down the stairs towards Dani. Dani had turned at hearing her name called and whirled to face Roxanne. The pair met at the bottom of the stairs in a hug and fit of giggles. "You lil' firecracker! I knew you'd find me!"

"I had help, Roxy. Are you okay? You're not hurt are you? You were so scared when you called me that was new!"

"I-I'm fine, Dani." Roxanne replied hesitantly, then changed subject not wanting to scare Dani with this bond between herself and Megamind. "So who is your friend?"

"That is Bernard Dunmar, he is the Megamind expert that helped me find you." Dani replied. Bernard Dunmar?! Roxanne held her tongue as she remembered him from high school, but Dani seemed oblivious to this knowledge. Roxanne remembered the details surrounding him and even Megamind recalled what happened. "Roxy? Is something wrong?"

"No no, I just remembered there was a Mr. Dunmar in high school." Roxanne covered up.

"Oh right, yeah he told me we went to the same high school, but enough of that right now we need to get you home. Everyone is worried!" Roxanne winced, she couldn't leave she promised Megamind to stay, but what to say?! Before they could make a move or make up an excuse, Minion noticed Bernard looking to the two girls, and saw an opportunity.

The fish rushed forward and grabbed the gun, thus a tug of war started. For a scrawny human, Bernard was stronger than he looked as he kept hold of the ray gun. Then his fingers slipped, and the gun went off. A Gold projectile bounced around the room like a ping pong ball sending everyone ducking for cover.

Soon the bolt bounced off some place, and after a moment the group realised that they were safe. Where ever the bolt had gone it wasn't coming back, Roxanne spoke first. "Is everyone okay?"

"Yeah, but what the hell was that?" Dani asked as she got to her feet and she dusted herself off. Seeing her cap she picked it up, dusted it off, and put it back on.

"A gun not meant to be fired, ever! Someone could've gotten hurt!" Megamind scolded.

"Well you should not make said gun then, or kidnap reporters and hold them for 3 weeks!" Dani snapped back sharply without missing a beat, and then she looked to Bernard whom was dusting himself off and readjusting his glasses. "Bernard, are you okay?"

"Never better," He groaned, "Don't sign me up for your next grand adventure, Miss Daniels."

"Great emotionless Bernard is back, missed you too!" Dani replied sarcastically, she turned away from Bernard, but Roxanne caught the look he gave her, as did Megamind and Minion. "Roxanne, are you okay?"

"I've been in worse spots, Dani. I'm fine."

"No I don't mean the gold ray gun shot, I mean you." Dani asked worried. Something told Roxanne her friend already knew of this bond between herself and Megamind. Perhaps Dani even knew more than she. "I know about the Temporal Bond, and if it was forced on you... you have to tell me! Just say the word and I'll get you out of here."

"Wait how do you know about the Temporal bond?!" Megamind snapped before Roxanne could answer.

"I had a visit to the prison, Bernard told me about it. We visited, and I signed a waiver never to discuss it to anyone. I know everything about this bond and the extent of it! Did you tell her what it entails?! Did you even ask her if it is what she wants?!" Dani demanded glaring at the villain, as she folded her arms over her chest.

"I told you Dani, it is like love at first sight; they would not choose the bond would." Bernard hated repeating himself.

"Oh don't start Bernard..." Dani sighed.

"Why is it so hard for you to believe?"

"Because nowadays women have a say in their lives about whom they choose to get into a relationship with. I want to know that Roxanne wasn't pushed, forced, or coerced into this bond."

Dani turned fully to Roxanne expectantly waiting with her arms folded across her chest. "Dani, you saw the kidnapping journals right?"

Dani groaned and her left hand came up to rub the bridge of her nose. "Yep." The word popped at the end as though Dani wished she hadn't read the journals. "Then you know I have wanted...desired Megamind. For years I was scared to tell anyone even you that I had these desires. I was terrified I was suffering from Stockholm Syndrome, and now it is good to know it is something else entirely. Yeah it was terrifying at first and still scary; but..."

Dani was now looking at her carefully, "This bond in not a normal human thing and that was why I was so scared. But a part of me has always wanted this even if I was fighting it."

It took a few minutes for Dani to digest this, but then she sighed. "Okay, so as long as you weren't forced into this. But there is still a huge problem and it won't just disappear. I won't tell anyone about you and him, or where you are; but Roxy others will come. You and I both know that, and they won't understand any of this."

"What do you mean?" Minion asked his big brown eyes wide and worried.

Dani sighed, "I'm going to be blunt about this, picture the headlines of the newspapers. 'Star Reporter found in arms of villain; Love? Or Stockholm Syndrome?' That is how this will be painted; they won't understand this bond thing and you don't want them to. Others will view Roxanne as a traitor to Metro Man, some may even question if she helped Megamind destroy him. They'll turn against her amongst other things."

The fish gave a shriek as he realised what Dani was saying, while Roxanne looked upset and Megamind paled a couple shades lighter than the normal blue. 'My god, Dani is right! I'll have to give up everything when we're discovered and someone is bound to discover us!' Roxanne was panicking over what that would mean.

'No you won't give up a thing! I will, I'll give up villainy.' Megamind replied firmly thinking.

"That won't be enough and you know it!" Roxanne replied

"What won't be enough?" Dani asked.

"He is thinking of giving up villainy, but what about all he's done before? The people of Metro city won't forgive that." Roxanne explained, for a moment everyone was silently thinking. Then a naughty smirk crossed Dani's face.

"I've got it! Okay okay, you have to be here another month yet, right Roxanne?" When Roxanne nodded, Dani continued, "So we cut people off at the pass! Before anyone discovers you two, but this will require some help on your end Megamind. What I would need you to do is clean up the city, return what you stole, restore what you destroyed, and instead of scaring the populace, protect them."

"Okay where are you heading with this?" Roxanne asked.

"New headline on the newspapers: 'Star reporter turns villain into hero!'" At that Roxanne's mouth dropped in surprise, "Think about it you will have been missing 2 months in Megamind's clutches, and he has a change of heart and starts doing the opposite of before. People will question why he is doing this, and then when you reappear we make sure to head off the BS tabloids by stating you were a good influence on him. Then you can slowly let it slip that you and he are together minus the lynch mob hopefully."

"Dani that is brilliant!" Roxanne hugged her friend tightly, "You are amazing, you know that? What do you guys think?"

"She would make an excellent evil hench woman." Megamind grinned.

"No I mean about her idea?" Roxanne sighed.

"Excellent idea!" Minion gave a toothy grin, and soon Megamind agreed, while Bernard merely nodded.

"You will write the paper, right Dani?" Roxanne asked

"Of course, who else would write it? But I have a condition." Dani replied eyeing Megamind carefully, "I am sure Roxanne has already agreed to stay in the lair, so no locking her in the room, and I get to visit her when ever I like at reasonable hours."

"Oh fine, you can visit, but no reporting on my inventions." Megamind groaned.

"Deal." Dani replied stiffly.

"Wait a minute I have a condition too." Roxanne replied as she gave Bernard a quick glance. She had once promised him and sadly things backfired, but this time she would do things right, "A double date!"

"What? A double date?" Dani asked perplexed.

"Yes a double date, after the second month I want you, Bernard, Megamind and I to go on a double date."

"Ummm Roxanne, Bernard and I are not a couple, and I am sure you can go on a date with Megamind all on your lonesome-"

"No! A double date Dani, or you won't be able to see me!" Roxanne threatened. Dani groaned and looked to Bernard then sighed.

"Bernard? Would you care to go on a double date, please?" Dani asked facing her companion, and so did not see the pleading gestures Roxanne made at Bernard.

"Alright, I can tolerate your company." Bernard sighed

"And for all those that don't speak 'Bernard' the word tolerate means he likes. Happy?"

"Almost Dani, a date means you have to wear a dress." Roxanne grinned smugly knowing it was Dani's kryptonite which was obvious from the horrified expression on Dani's face.

"No! No no no no no no no no! NO! Noooooo way!"

"Oh Yes, Yes way!" Roxanne grinned.

"NO Absolutely not! I am not wearing some slinky dress and high heels I could break my neck in! No!"

"Yes you are otherwise it is not a double date, and you will break your own agreement." Roxanne replied.

"Oh c'mon what you're asking is pure torture! I agreed to a double date, not complete with torture devices like high heels!" Dani folded her arms and shook her head. Roxanne gave a smirk before making her eyes go big, and Dani knew what she was about to do. Quickly she covered her ears and closed her eyes. "No! No using the pleading 'please' trick! I'm not listening!"

"Pulllll-eassssssee Dani! Please!"

"No nope not listening or looking, you always get your way when you pull that on me, no way!" Megamind, Bernard, and Minion all stood there shocked, somehow Roxanne and Dani had gone back to being ten year olds in the course of the conversation, and it was amusing to watch. "No you can't make me, I am not wearing slut wear!"

Finally Roxanne stopped a moment and pretended to turn away, just when Dani opened her eyes and removed her hands from her ears and thought it was safe; Roxanne spun around to face her again with the big blue eyes treatment. "Please!"

"Ughhhh!" Dani groaned.

"Ha! I caught you! You heard me say it!"

"Ugh! That's evil and you know it!" Dani groaned childishly and took to sulking, "Fine! I will wear a dress and the death trap known as high heels!" Megamind was barely containing his laughter or his thoughts at the childish banter between the two women, but both Roxanne and he knew why she had called for a double date with her and Bernard, it was a chance to make up for last time.
