CHAPTER SEVEN- You're going to kill me when you read this chapter. You really are. This is the last chapter, so yeah. I'll hide until it's over.
WritingWordsOfWisdom: Hope you don't kill me in this chapter!
I3TSwift: Well thank you then!
MissFlutterPie: And this one will probably irritate you to no end (:
Get ready to feel the cliché in the air….I don't own Austin and Ally.
She looked up at Austin, her eyes wounded. "And all I want to do is wake up."
GENERAL POV
Wake up….wake up….
Austin shot straight up on the piano bench, smacking his head off of the keys in a sour note that rang through the room and made him yelp in pain.
"Aw geez that hurt," he muttered, rubbing his head and squinting an eye shut.
After a moment, he froze and pulled his hand away in surprise. "That hurt," he clarified for himself.
The boy glanced around the practice room and saw bright, late morning sunshine slanting through the blinds. "It was a dream?" Austin muttered. "Man. It's like one of those bad movies where the main character realizes it's all a dream and the viewer wants to kill the director."
He spun around on the bench and vaulted to his feet, hesitating for a moment before running for the door. "If it was all a dream…" he murmured, running down the hall to the bathroom, "then…"
He yanked open the medicine cabinet and breathed a sigh of relief to see all of the bottles lined up neatly, all of them full.
"Austin? What are you doing?"
Austin spun around and looked down at Trish in surprise as she looked up at him in concern. She cast a suspicious glance at the medicine chest and raised an eyebrow.
The singer shut the cabinet quickly. "Trish, where's Ally?" he asked.
The girl looked startled, but shrugged. "She, Dez, and I were at Mini's for breakfast. The pancakes there are pathetic. Like the size of a quarter. Anyway, Ally sent me back to get you. You guys fell asleep practicing last night and she didn't want to wake you up."
Austin breathed a sigh of relief and sank onto the edge of the tub. "Thank goodness."
Trish looked at him funny. "Austin, are you okay?"
The boy glanced up hesitantly and Trish frowned. "You aren't. What's wrong?"
Austin sighed and glanced away. "I had a dream last night that I died in a hit and run."
Trish winced and sat on the closed toilet across from him. "Austin, that sucks. You okay now?"
He shrugged. "Maybe. In the dream, you punched a window and Dez was hurting himself and Ally…."
He started trembling and Trish leaned over and put a hand on his knee. "Austin?"
"Ally almost killed herself. I had this spirit guide named Olivia and she warned us. Dez could see me so I told you guys to stop her."
"Did we?"
Austin nodded. "Yeah, just barely."
Trish rubbed his knee soothingly. "Austin, Ally is fine. I left her with Dez just a few minutes ago. She's probably going nuts, being stuck with him, but everyone does."
Austin frowned for a moment and glanced at Trish. "Trish…did you want to talk to me about anything?"
The curly haired girl looked startled. "What? Why?"
Austin gave a small smile. "In the dream you needed to talk to me…about personal things."
He stared her directly in the eye and Trish paled, sitting back. "Um…what kind of personal things?"
Austin tilted his head and the girl winced, running a hand through her hair and drawing a knee to her chin. "I assume in the dream it was about Dez, based on how you brought this up after I mentioned him. I like him, okay?"
The boy shrugged and almost leaned back before remembering he was on the edge of a tub. "I figured. That's what your dream self said. Maybe it was my subconscious picking up subtle hints."
Trish stared at him. "Did you hit your head on the piano or something?"
Austin nodded. "Yeah, but that's not the point."
Trish raised an eyebrow. "Then what is the point?"
The boy jumped to his feet and glanced at himself in the mirror. "The point is…the point is I need to find Ally and tell her how I feel about her, and you need to find Dez and tell him the same thing. Because if my dream is right, he likes you too."
Trish merely stared at him and then slowly started smiling. "Okay. Okay, let's go!"
The two were out the door of the bathroom in seconds and running for Mini's.
Ally shook her head. "I don't even understand how they manufacture syrup bottles this tiny," she said to Dez as she picked up the flash-drive sized bottle of maple syrup. "Or why you would want to."
Dez shrugged and stared down at his itty bitty cup of orange juice. "Why didn't we eat somewhere more filling again?"
Ally opened her mouth to respond, but was cut off by the sound of her name.
"Ally!"
She turned to see Austin and Trish sprinting for the area and she jumped from her seat. "Austin! What's wrong?"
Austin skidded to a halt in front of her and without saying a word yanked her into his arms, pulling his face to hers and pressing the songwriter into the deepest kiss he could muster.
In those few seconds, Austin poured every piece of his heart and soul he could into his lips and hands, which were intertwined in Ally's hair. He couldn't bear the thought of losing her, even if the whole thing had just been a dream.
When he finally yanked away, his eyes filled with tears, Ally just stared at him in shock. "Austin…what…?"
Austin took a deep, shaky breath. "I had to tell you I loved you before it was too late."
Ally just gaped at him, and slowly her lips curved into a gentle smile. "Austin…what brought this on?"
Austin glanced down at the concrete under him. "I had a nightmare Ally. That I died and you almost killed yourself to be with me. And I never wanted you to do that."
Ally stared up at him and then pressed up on her toes, pushing her lips against his. "You have no idea how long I've wanted you to do that," she mumbled against his mouth.
Austin chuckled and pulled her into a tight hug. "Come on," he whispered. "Let's get back to Sonic Boom and I'll tell you the dream."
Ally nodded and pulled away carefully, turning towards where they had left Dez and Trish. "Trish, Dez, let's-"
Ally stopped in astonishment and just stared, ignoring Austin's quiet laughter as they watched their two friends make out. "Geez," Austin said loudly, "can you spell PDA?"
The two broke off and smiled sheepishly at them. "Sorry," Trish said. "What were we doing?"
A week later, Ally was bagging some drumsticks for a customer when two hands covered her eyes. "Guess who," said a deep, rumbly voice.
Ally chuckled, handed the customer what she hoped was the right change, and turned around to face Austin with a grin on her face. "You're nutty, you know that?"
Austin grinned and started to pull Ally into a kiss. His eyes lifted above her head for just a moment and he froze, his jaw dropping.
Ally turned around in confusion to see a pretty, curly blonde haired girl walking into the store with a purse slung around her shoulder. She was clad in a pale blue dress and white belt with flats, but there was no mistaking it.
"O-Olivia?" Austin stammered.
The girl looked up in surprise. "Um…yeah. Aren't you Austin Moon?"
Austin just nodded in astonishment. "Yeah…do you play the trumpet?"
Olivia tilted her head. "Um, yeah. That's why I'm here. I ordered for my trumpet to be repaired, and the man here said that you guys could fix it before my competition tomorrow evening."
Ally nodded brightly, moving to the storage room in the back. "Yeah, we got it in yesterday! It looks awesome now! I'll be right back."
She disappeared into the back and Austin spun to Olivia. "Olivia, listen. You can't go to that competition. Or if you do, don't let your boyfriend drive."
The blonde looked startled. "How did you know I have a boyfriend? And why wouldn't I let him drive? And why are you telling me this?"
Austin hesitated. "You….if you let your boyfriend drive, you'll die."
The girl recoiled, her eyes wide as she stared at Austin in disgust. Ally came back at that moment, the trumpet case open in her hands to reveal the sparkling instrument in its bed of red velvet. "Here you go Olivia…" she said, trailing off as she noticed the way the two were looking at each other. "Did I miss something?"
"This guy is a creep!" Olivia spat. "How much for the trumpet, so I can get out of here?"
"Please, Olivia," Austin pleaded, gently pushing Ally aside. "You need to believe me."
Olivia scowled at him. "The only way I wouldn't go to that competition is if I didn't have that trumpet. I'm going. Now excuse me, so I can pay."
In a split second decision, Austin swung around, yanked the trumpet from its case, and slammed it against the counter repeatedly until it was filled with dents and irreparable. When he finished, he was panting and his fingers trembled. Everyone in the store stared at him and Olivia shrieked, her eyes filling with tears. "Oh my GOD what the hell is wrong with you?" she yelped, her money falling to the floor as she stared at the ruined instrument.
"Austin!" Ally cried in horror.
The singer sighed, shaking his head. "I'm sorry Olivia. It's for your own good."
Olivia scowled, leaned over the counter, slapped Austin across the face, and left.
Ally just stared at the boy in shock. "Austin…that was expensive! How could you?"
Austin shrugged sheepishly. "Ally…that was Olivia. From my dream. The one who died."
Ally scowled. "Austin, that was a dream! You may have just ruined her chances at winning because of a stupid dream you had! What were you thinking?"
The boy frowned. "I was thinking that if it was real I was saving her life Ally!"
Ally sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Fine. But you have to pay for the trumpet."
The next day Austin was helping Ally wipe down counters and display cases when the bell over the door jangled, signifying a customer.
Ally began to turn. "Welcome to Sonic Boom, how can I-? Olivia?"
Austin spun around in surprise, the dusting rag dropping from his fingers to the floor below him. The pretty blonde girl was no longer in light colors, instead wearing a dull gray color with a black belt and black flats. A gold circle went around her head, which made Austin pause for a moment before he remembered that Ally had seen her.
"Hey," the girl said in a dejected voice, lifting her head to reveal bloodshot eyes. "I um…I wanted to come to thank you, Austin. I didn't go to the competition…and you were right."
"What?" Ally whispered, staring at Austin in shock.
"He was right," Olivia gulped. "My boyfriend was driving under the influence and got hit by an oncoming car. The police said that if I had been in the car, I would have died. So thanks. I have no idea how you did it Austin. But yeah."
Austin winced. "I'm sorry I had to destroy your trumpet to help."
Olivia gave a sad snort. "It's fine. I'm just glad you told me."
She turned to go out the door and then glanced back, her eyes weary and sad. "You know. Before it was too late."
So. Don't kill me for the clichéd ending to the story please! I've always wanted to be one of THOSE authors (you know, the ones that Austin mentioned at the beginning of this chapter).
Also, I like Austin. I would never want to kill him for real.
So that's that for this story. Tell me what you thought!
I'll be getting back to Phineas and Ferb now guys. Also, if anyone has seen the show M*A*S*H, please let me know!
Thanks guys, for putting up with me through all of this! Review please!
