Alec was awoken by the sound of the door being opened. And he already knew which door. The door to his holding cell. He groaned in exhaustion as the door opened. The light from the outside blinded him. Alec hissed, pulling to cover his eyes. But his wrists were chained down already. Alec moved his head over to the door. He looked over as Sebastian walked inside of the room. His outfit was different, which must have meant that it was morning now. His suit was now dark green and his cape was made of dark brown fur. He smiled, walking inside of the room with a silver tray in his hands. Alec looked over and saw that Jace was awoken as well. He was squinting from the light coming in from the opened door.
"Did you sleep well knight?" he asked, moving over to the center of the room. Alec glared at him. Jace did as well. Sebastian smiled at them, pulling up the cover that covered the tray's contents. "Here you are breakfast."
"I don't know if you're blind or just insane." Jace said. "But we're kind of chained down to a wall here!"
"You certainly have a mouth on you. Maybe I should teach you a lesson about speaking out of turn. Just as I did your precious little Magnus. Considering all of the things that he was telling me when I visited him last night."
That got the two boys attention. Alec forced himself onto his feet and tried to launch himself at Sebastian. But he was stopped by his chains. He growled. "If you touched him, I swear to God I'll end you."
Sebastian kept his smile and he just shrugged. "He had to be punished for speaking out of turn and speaking so very disrespectfully."
"What did you do to him?!" Jace yelled out.
Sebastian turned to him and just shrugged. Sebastian walked over to Alec's chain and pushed him down by the chest against the wall. Alec grunted. "Don't try anything." he said.
Sebastian moved his hand and pulled the chain that connected the cuffs together away from the hook. He let go of Alec and moved to do the same to Jace. Once they were off of the wall, they ran to each other. Sebastian hummed and walked out of the room, shutting the door closed. Jace and Alec heard the door open to Clary and Simon's cell and then it was closed. Jace and Alec turned to each other.
"Are you okay?" Jace asked him.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Are you?" Alec asked, holding him in his arms.
"I'm okay. I'm okay. Damn, my wrists."
"I know, I know. The cuffs seemed to be tightening as he struggled against the hooks."
Jace nodded. "I wanna kill that son of a bitch."
"I do too." Alec said with an evil snarl. "I want to know what the hell he did to Magnus. If he's okay. If he's hurt… I choke him to death with these chains." Jace moved to respond, but his stomach started to rumble. Alec looked over at him. "How long since you've eaten?"
"I had a small lunch with Clary before we came. I haven't eaten since."
"You need to have something."
"I'm not taking anything from that bastard." Jace said with a head shake.
"You need to have something. You'll need your strength if you want to fight that bastard."
"You do too. If you're not eating, I'm not eating Alec. End of story."
Alec sighed. "I'll eat something small okay? But I want you to eat too."
Jace nodded. As Alec made his way over to the tray on the floor, he heard the sound of distant sobbing. Sniffles and chokes. Alec stopped. He turned over to the door.
"Is Clary awake?" Jace asked. "Is that her?"
Alec walked over to the door and looked through the small window that he couldn't look through before. He looked over. "Clary?" he called. "Clary is that you? Are you okay?"
There was no response. Which meant that Clary was still sleeping in her cell with Simon. Alec turned back over to Jace. He had the same expression on his face.
'Where is that coming from?" Jace asked, moving his cuffs around to try and loosen them up just a bit.
Alec and Jace both looked at each other. They walked over from where they both were standing to try and locate the source of the sobbing. Alec and Jace moved over and ended up in the corner closer to where Alec used to be chained down to. The sobbing was able to be heard more now that they were in that corner. Jace and Alec gave each other a look. They looked back up with ears and eyes at the sound of the sobbing.
"I know that sobbing." Alec said. "That's Izzy."
"What?" Jace said. "How?"
Alec looked back over at the ceiling. He moved up as best he could now that he could stand as tall as he could. He knocked lightly on the ceiling. "Iz." he called out.
Izzy couldn't sleep. She had been sleeping hours ago. Until she awoken by screaming and angry demands. When she opened her eyes, she discovered that Sebastian guy holding her brother's boyfriend and one of her best friends. Izzy scrambled to protect him. But Sebastian backhanded Magnus so hard. That he fell down to the floor, his head hitting it hard. And he was knocked out. That vile man blew out all of the candles inside of the room and left her and Magnus in the complete darkness. Izzy pulled Magnus as best as she could back to the bed and tried to bring them back into the light. She managed to start a small fire inside of the fireplace from the dying embers that Sebastian had blown out. She grabbed the extra blankets that were brought and snuggled Magnus in them.
There were no medical supplies, but Izzy tried her best to try and help Magnus. She looked over at his head. His brain seemed to hit his skull when he fell down, which meant that he was going to be fine and he just needed a moment to wake up. Izzy stayed by his side, sobbing in fear of what might happen next. What if Sebastian separated them? What if he attacked Magnus again? What if he attacked Alec? Or Jace, Clary or Simon? God, all Izzy wanted was for her boyfriend to come in rescue her and hold her until the fear went away. Izzy sobbed, holding Magnus' cheek in her hand.
"Please wake up Magnus…" he sobbed. "Please wake up. Please… please… I don't want anything to happen to you. To us. What if Sebastian comes back? And… and takes you away from me? We can't protect each other if you don't wake up. You need to wake up Magnus… please Magnus… please."
Izzy sobbed, moving her head into Magnus' chest. She cried in the blanket that was covering his body. She didn't want anything to happen to him. She didn't want something to happen to any of them. Izzy's body seemed to run out of moisture to cry as she laid down near Magnus, just shaking. It was completely and utterly silence. The only thing that Izzy could hear was the sound of the low fire crackling in the background. But then… there was a faint voice calling her name.
"Iz?"
Izzy looked up in shock. Had Sebastian returned? Izzy moved closer to Magnus to protect him. Then. there was that voice again.
"Iz? Iz? Isabelle?"
Izzy stopped. She finally listened closely to hear that voice. Because she could have sworn that she recognized that voice. No. She did. It was Alec. Izzy slowly moved away from Magnus.
"Al-Alec?" Izzy called out lightly. "Am I… hearing things?"
"Izzy, no. It's us! Jace and Alec!" called the voice that she knew as he blonde adopted brother.
"Oh my… oh my God!" Izzy cried, running over to where the sound was coming from. The dining table on one side of the oval room. She went down on her hands and knees and pressed her ear to the floor. "Alec? Jace… is that you guys? Can you… can you actually hear me?"
"Yes! Yes!" Jace cried. "Oh my God, thank God you're okay!"
"Izzy, why are you crying? What happened?" Alec asked. "Are you hurt?"
"No, no, I'm not hurt." Izzy said, moving to try and see if there was a latch to open. She noticed a keyhole. "Dammit. Dammit. Dammit."
"What? What is it Izzy?" Alec asked, his voice full of worry. "Izzy?! Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm fine. I just… I just tried to open this latch that has us connected, but… it's locked. There's a keyhole here."
"Don't worry Iz. We'll find a way to get to rescue you and Magnus." Jace said.
"Where's… where's Magnus?" Alec asked next. Fear was obviously in his tone. "Why isn't he speaking? Is he okay?"
"He's… he's unconscious right now." Izzy responded.
Alec's eyes widened in shock and fear as soon Izzy had told him that Magnus had been knocked unconscious. He took a step back from the ceiling that he had been underneath in shock. Magnus… had been knocked out. Magnus had been hurt and he wasn't there. He wasn't there to stop Magnus from getting hurt. After he made a promise to him and himself that he would keep him out of harm's way. Alec took a step back. Jace turned over to him.
"Alec." he called softly.
Alec growled, turning completely away from his brother. He screamed out, punching the wall as best he could with his wrists chained. Jace walked over to him and quickly grabbed him by the elbows, pulling him away. Alec tried to shove his brother off of him.
"Alec!" called Izzy from the ceiling where they could speak.
"He hurt him." Alec said, angry as all hell. "He hurt him! He hurt him, separated us, is holding all of us hostage-"
"Alec, calm down. It's going to be okay." Jace called walking over to his brother. "Izzy, his Magnus bleeding? Was he stabbed or cut?"
"No, no, no. He wasn't cut or stabbed. Sebastian was yelling at him and screaming at him. I ran over and begged him to stopped. He stopped, but he backhanded Magnus so hard and he fell down to the floor. His head hit the coffee table that's inside of our room." Izzy explained, fear and anger obviously in her voice. "He-he hasn't woken up since."
"Have you checked his pulse?" Alec asked, his worry and emotions clouding his judgement and his thoughts of escaping their imprisonment. "Does he have a concussion? Izzy please tell me if he's going to be okay."
"I checked the back of his head. He doesn't seem to have a concussion. There's no bump. I just think that his brain bounced on his skull from being choked, the slap and falling to the ground."
"Izzy you need to keep an eye on him. Stay with him." Jace said. "If Sebastian comes back, you need to protect him."
"And you need to help us find a way out of here. You said that there's a keyhole there right. Then there must be a key somewhere. Keep an eye out." Alec said. "If you can get out, get out."
"What about you two? What's in your room? Maybe I can help you."
"We're in a cell Iz. And even if we wanted to, we couldn't." Jace explained. "Alec and I have been chained together most of the time. We just got moved because Sebastian wanted to feed us."
"But we're going to be fine Izzy. Don't be worried about us okay. Worry about yourself and Magnus right now." Alec called out to his sister. "Please, please, please be safe Izzy. Don't worry about us. We'll find the way out, okay?"
"Please just tell me if there's anything there that I can help me. Tell me, tell me please Alec. I'm not going anywhere but you and I can help each other." Izzy called. "Please Alec. Anything. Anything at all."
Alec sighed. He looked over at Jace. Jace gave him a nod. A nod signaling for him to just try. Or at least trust their baby sister. Alec looked back up over at the wall. "Our chains aren't held together by locks or a key. There's a combination lock on the cuffs."
"Combination lock?" Izzy and Jace both said in unison.
Jace looked down at his own cuffs. "He's right Iz."
"How many numbers?"
"Four." called Alec.
"Okay. Okay. Four numbers. I'll look around."
"And Izzy. When Magnus wakes up, can you send him over here? If he's up for it. I just… I just want to speak to him."
"I will. I promise that I will. I love you Alec. I love you Jace. And… and if Simon is there with you, can you please tell him that I love him. That I love him more than anyone and that I would do… an-anything for him." Izzy said, her voice getting more raspy and almost like she was crying now.
"We will Izzy. We will." Jace said.
"And I'm pretty sure that Simon loves you more than you love him." Alec said. "I love you baby sister. Be safe. And if you find the key, let us know immediately."
"I will Alec… I love you both."
"We do too. Be safe."
And with that Izzy stopped responding. Alec and Jace looked over to each other. They met eyes. Jace slowly walked over to his brother. "Alec." he called. "Magnus is going to be fine. If he's hurt-"
"Don't say that. Don't." Alec said, cutting him off and shaking his head. "Do not say that."
"Alec, please. Please calm down. I know that you don't want to hear that right now, especially with everything that's going on right now. But please just listen okay." Jace called, moving over and pressing his hand against his brother's elbow. "Magnus is strong okay. Magnus is strongest person you know. The only reason he tears down those walls of his is because you're around him. Okay. He will be okay. And if he really is hurt bad, Izzy is a nurse and he is a surgeon. They've both gone to medical school."
"It's good that they're together." Alec said finally. "They'll keep each other safe. They'll protect each other."
"Right now, we need to breathe and think about helping Izzy and Magnus. Okay. She'll help us with our chains and we'll help her get Magnus out of the room. Okay?" Jace asked, holding his brother's elbow and rubbing it gently.
Alec looked at him and nodded. "O-Okay."
"Good. Good. Come, come on, we need to have something to eat. If we're going to escape and rescue everyone, we need to have something in our stomachs. Okay? Come on, let me get some food in you. Please."
Alec didn't respond. But he allowed his brother to move him over to the tray where Sebastian had provided them food.
