Dreams

Months. It had been Months since Cena had left. They had reached the Blue Mountains and had started to rebuild a new life. Everyone morning before most people woke in the camp Thorin would stand on one of the hills and look out. He was still mad at his brother for having a part in Cena leaving. Thorin still had hope that she would come back.

Cena woke to darkness above. Her body ached, and places she didn't know could ache. She went to sit up but was stopped by a hand and it alerted her and her body went stiff.

"Don't move" the voice said "You were badly injured."

Cena turned her head and saw an elf. "You're an elf"

"Yes" he said "My name is Legolas milady"

"Cena" she said as she looked up at Legolas. "How long was I out?"

"A week" Legolas said "The orc poison got to you" Legolas then studied Cena for a moment "You are no dwarf"

"Very observant" Cena said as she closed her eyes and opened them again and looked at Legolas.

This was the first time in a long while Cena ever saw an elf. He was rather handsome, for an elf, long blonde hair and piercing blue eleven eyes that saw far and deep. Cena had noticed bandages on her when she woke and knew he had wrapped them with care.

"You are a Kirin-Kai" Legolas said with something hidden in his voice. "The Forgotten"

"Yes" Cena replied with a nod.

"I have heard of the dragon" Legolas said.

"Haven't we all" Cena said softly.

As the sun was setting Legolas and Cena sat around a fire in a secluded are. They sat silently around the fire with Legolas ever on the alert. Cena was eating some lambus bread with Legolas and drinking a little bit of water.

"Do you know the legend of how the Kirin-Kai came to be" Cena said breaking the silence.

"I am afraid I do not milady" Legolas replied.

"Long ago, many centuries before elves graced middle earth, in the land across the sea their lived a dwarven woman. Unlike most dwarfs she possessed a gift, a rare gift of longevity. She was slightly taller than most dwarfs and had golden hair and no hair upon her face. Dwarfven men paid no mind to her, so she had begun to wander further and further outside her mountain home. On one such day she had fallen off a small rock face and hit her head and was knocked out. She awoke to darkness, frighten she quickly tried to get to her feet and flee in fear something evil had found her. Instead she found an elven man. Hair black as night, skin as pale as stars, and eyes as deep as any ocean. The woman was nursed back to help by the man, and soon enough she returned home only to be shunned once more by the dwarfven men. Every day she would return to the cliffs to meet the elven man. Every day till her brother and sisters became old and gray and their children had children, then grandchildren. She however did not age as quick and soon she was left alone in her home with nothing but the winds on the mountains to give her solace. She had thought of brining her life to an end jumping off a rock cliff down to the sharp depths of stone below. Before she could the elven man every day had visited her, and he showed moments before she was to jump. Strangers turned to friends, friends turned to affection and affection turned to love. She had thought she lost all she loved but she forgot about the elven man. He loved her with all his heart and soul. For their love their were banished to Middle Earth to never return to the Grey Havens. Their love was soon forgotten by those who wished them way but they never forgot. The woman learned her longevity was from an old magic her parents had used when she was born. A forbidden magic, a cursed magic. So she sealed the magic for those who wish to see power and use it their lives would begin to fade till they died of old age and younger and younger years. One night the woman had returned to their new home in the Grey Mountains to find her elven husband had been killed in spite of her, a dwarfven woman. She tried to use her power to bring him back, but it was unsuccessful. She had lost her love, her last piece of family, despite their children. Their children were as beautiful as any elf and as short as any dwarf, the showed the perfect blend of the two. She had mourned his passing and did one final spell that took her life. She vowed that every so many hundreds of years a child would be born with the magic and to be seen as a gift, one that must never be used if the holder wishes it."

Cena closed her eyes for a moment after she finished her story.

"Thank you for telling me" Legolas said

"It's an old story" Cena said and turned to Legolas "Why are you out here alone?"

"Someone needed help" Legolas said to Cena "I saw you from afar"

"One would think the prince of Mirkwood would remain close to home" Cena said and saw slight surprise on Legolas face. "I remember your face when your father went to see King Thror"

"You were next to the prince" Legolas said.

"Yes I was visiting Thorin" Cena said and brushed some hair back and revealed her scared face.

She could feel Legolas looking at it but he remained silent. Cena knew it would be something that would be who she was from now on. She was still uncertain what to do, where to go. After spending some time with Legolas healing from the orc poison Cena was alone once more.

Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks and weeks turned into months. Months turned to years. It had been years since Cena had left leaving something missing for Thorin. He however had little time to think about Cena these past years. As Thorin grew older his soul grew heavier. Keeping his people safe was his concern, teaching the reaming soldiers to fight and making weapons. His father constant reminder that he should be on the lookout for a potential wife, his sister growing older and drawing attention of dwarfven men. Thorin had never forgot for Cena's necklace rested in his pocket closes to his heart. He knew the likely hood of her being alive still was slim but he knew that if she was gone he should have felt it.

Thorin settled in for the night in his tent after training with some warriors and Balin. Thorin laid on his back and closed his eyes and felt a hand on his chest after a few moments. Thorin opened his eyes and saw a hand on his chest and soon found red hair on his chest as well. He suddenly sat up causing Cena to shoot up as well.

"What's going on" Cena said as she sat up next to Thorin. "Thorin what's wrong?"

"You're here" Thorin said and gently grabbed onto herface "How are you here"

"I've been here Thorin" Cena said with a gentle smile "Are you alright" She then gently moved some hair out of his face "You have been working hard lately trying to get everything ready, and train some new warriors"

"This cannot be real" Thorin said "This must be a dream"

"But is it a good dream" Cena said with a smile and gave Thorin a gentle kiss.

"I do not wish to wake" Thorin said as he laid back down and Cena gently rested on his chest "You are gone"

"I will come back" Cena said and Thorin felt Cena running her hand on his chest and then Thorin felt Cena straddle him and lean down towards him "Why not make it a good dream" she whispered to his lips before kissing them.

Thorin closed his eyes as he ran his hands on Cena hips and slide them underneath her sleep dress to feel her cool skin.

"Is this a good dream" Cena said as she leaned back and looked at Thorin with a smile.

"It's a very good dream" Thorin replied with a smile on his face as he rubbed Cena's legs.

"Thorin….Thorin" Cena said "Are you awake laddie?"

"Why do you sound more like a man Cena" Thorin said.

"Thorin" Balin's voice came out of Cena mouth.

Thorin woke up and looked and saw that Cena wasn't here next to him. His shirt was open a little as he sat up and let out a sigh.

Dawn was on the horizon as Cena awoke, she looked out to the rising sun and took a deep breathe. She was getting closer to the Blue Mountains. After a conversation she had with a grey wizard Cena decided it was time to go back. Cena was unsure of exactly how long she was gone but she knew it was long enough. She found what she need in the time she was alone, she found out who she was. It was time to go back and help Thorin and be friends if he still wanted to.

Cena was unsure of how everyone would react to her since she left. She has picked up a few things from being alone that she otherwise wouldn't know. She learned how to make bows, and swords from her need to defend herself. She also found a way to add some enchantment into the weapons she made that would not take her life away by using certain gems and intergrading them in to the weapons. She knew the journey home would be harder than the journey to leave.
