((Welcome back to Sonic '06 Bloopers! Let us continue on with this cheesy story!
Today we get to deal with fakers and irresponsible crushes!))
Chapter 7
(Ten minute break)
Arumakan glared at the blue and black hedgehogs, the tension thick between the three of them.
"What is going on between you two?!" Arumakan demanded.
Sonic stuck his nose in the air with an indignant "Hmph!" and crossed his arms, imitating Shadow's voice. "I don't have time for these formalities!"
Shadow glared at him, his arms crossed. "Are you mocking me, faker?" he said reproachfully.
"Faker? HA!" Sonic quoted. "You're not even good enough to be my fa—
"I'll make you eat those words!" Shadow cut him off, bringing his fist back and punching him in the face. Sonic stumbled back and was about to retaliate when Arumakan stepped in and pushed them apart.
"You two need to chill out," he said with a forced calm.
"He's mocking me!" Shadow snapped.
"And you need to learn to ignore him," Arumakan said while Sonic stuck out his tongue at Shadow. "Why don't you go get some coffee?"
"Hmph!" Shadow huffed, walking off, grumbling to himself.
Sonic crossed his arms, watching him. "Tch, we'll see who the real faker is," he murmured to himself before running off in the opposite direction.
Minutes later, Sonic returned to set, except he looked identical to Shadow.
"Oh, Shadow, you're back," Arumakan said pleasantly, confusing the two, which was Sonic's goal. "Do you feel better? How was that coffee?"
"Delightful," Sonic-the-Shadow said, imitating his rival's voice perfectly since they shared the same voice actor.
"Perfect," Arumakan said. "Now can someone find where Sonic ran off to? We can't continue until he comes back."
"Who needs him?" Sonic-the-Shadow said. "I should be the real star of this show; I'm more well-liked by fangirls!"
Arumakan sighed. "You got your game last year. Plus, you have a story in this game. Doesn't that count?"
"I suppose, but my game was horrible and didn't do me, the Ultimate Lifeform, the proper justice I deserve!" Sonic-the-Shadow said with false anger, flipping a nearby coffee table.
"Shadow, you need to calm down!" Arumakan said in alarm.
"I will not calm down!" Sonic-the-Shadow snapped, determined to get Shadow in trouble for this. "I demand to be given credit for my part in this game because Sonic, that…oh so amazing and skilled rival of mine…gets all the credit!" He punched a set wall, which left a large dent in it.
"Shadow, I demand that you leave the set!" Arumakan cried. "You may come back once you've relaxed."
"Gladly!" Sonic-the-Shadow said. "I don't have time for this!" He stomped, and then ran, off set.
"He ran," Tails said quietly to Knuckles. "Doesn't Shadow usually skate?"
"Because that's Sonic, not Shadow," Knuckles replied.
"Shouldn't someone correct the director?" Amy asked.
"Nah, let's see how this plays out," Tails grinned.
(In the Mach Speed section of Wave Ocean)
Sonic: *has changed his appearance back to himself so they could get some filming done, now after the dock section, when the camera faces him, showing robots behind him* WHAT?! Robots?! What are they doing here? Gee, I don't suppose it's because I'm chasing Eggman's ship!
Arumakan: *sighs, to the editors* Can you cut that all out except the first bit?
Editors: *nod, just keep the over exaggerated "WHAT?!"*
- Glitch 1 -
Sonic: *nearing the loops, approaches the dash panels but somehow "flies off" into the ocean* Whoaaah!
Silver: *laughs, standing beside a giant magnet that attracted the metal in his replacement shoes* How are those Custom Shoes working for you now?!
(After Wave Ocean is completed)
Game: Do you want to overwrite the saved data?
Sonic: Because who needs autosave? YES.
Scene – Another Location
- Take 1 -
*the Egg fortress flies away, leaving Sonic and Tails to watch*
Sonic: No…. This can't be…
Tails: Sonic?
Sonic: Can we redo this? This isn't possible.
Tails: What are you talking about?
Sonic: We were…. We were…. *a feather floats down from the sky and lands at Sonic's feet, Sonic falls to his knees and yells to the sky* TOO SLOOOOOOOW! *fake sobs into his hands*
Arumakan: Sonic, cut it out. You've done enough damage today.
Sonic: *stops the act* Oh, come on, add some drama! I can't be bland all the time!
- Take 2 -
Sonic: *the feather floats down and Sonic picks it up, keeping a very bemused face*
Tails: Mario, it looks like the Princess was moved to another castle!
Sonic: *Italian accent* Let's-a go!
Arumakan: Wrong game! Cut!
- Take 3 -
Tails: It looks like the Princess was moved to another location! *runs in front of him, moving his arms like an overexcited puppet* Let's head back to the city! *runs off*
Sonic: *covers his mouth, snickering*
Arumakan: Keep it together, please. We've almost got it.
Sonic: Fine! I'll just be a sourpuss all the time!
- Take 4 -
Tails: Let's head back to the city! *runs off*
Sonic: *glares, clutches the feather and runs off*
(Loading Screen)
Shadow: *returns, sipping his coffee* Finally…some caffeine.
Arumakan: Shadow, I thought I told you to stay off set!
Shadow: *stops* You never said that.
Arumakan: It should have been obviously implied!
Shadow: You told me to get some coffee!
Sonic: *smirks* Shadow, why don't you do what the man says? He is the boss.
Shadow: *glares at him*
Arumakan: *sighs* Fine, why don't you go help set up the next stage?
Shadow: Fine! *disappears*
Sonic: *grins triumphantly*
(Soleanna Castle Town hub world)
Sonic: *goes to talk to Lord Regis*
Lord Regis: *waves arms* Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah? Mahmahmahmah. Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah. Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah. (Direct translation: "You want to go to the desert? Not now, not now. A little girl got up on a roof somehow and can't get down… We need to do something…")
Sonic: LET ME IN TO THE DESERT! *sweep kicks his legs*
Tails: If you can squeeze through that gap, you'll be able to save the girl!
Sonic: *buys the Antigravity thing so he can do the slide attack, slides under and hits the spring to go to the roof* How'd this girl GET to the roof anyway? There's no vent or anything for her to get up here!
Girl: *crying* Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah... *sniff* Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah. (Direct translation: "I'm sorry I made you worry… I heard Eggman was going to the desert, so I wanted to keep watch from a high place.")
Sonic: *sighs* Everyone tries to be the hero. *picks the girl up and jumps down from the roof to the ground*
People: *start dancing and rejoicing that the girl was saved*
Sonic: Couldn't one of you guys have done that?
Tails: They can't handle the power of the spring!
Sonic: *chuckles, goes to talk to Lord Regis again*
Lord Regis: *waves arms happily, and they look dislocated* Mahmahmahmahmahmah! (Direct translation: "You saved us!")
Sonic: "Us?"
Lord Regis: Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahamahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah. (Direct translation: "On behalf of the townsfolk, let me give you our thanks.")
Sonic: Okay, LET US GO TO THE DESERT!
Lord Regis: Mahmahmahmahmah? Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah. Mahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmahmah. (Direct translation: "You want to go to the desert? Just let the soldiers know that you're heading out. They say Eggman headed out that way, so please be careful.")
Sonic: *runs and jumps into the mirror, not bothering to talk to soldiers*
(Loading screen)
Sonic: How is it that mirrors teleport us to other places?
Arumakan: It's basically just a portal that looks like a mirror.
Sonic: Like the time travel portals?
Arumakan: Pretty much.
Knuckles: Except not really, since we just jump, the camera cuts out, and then we walk to the next stage.
Tails: Shush, you're ruining the magic of the mirrors!
Scene – First Rescue
- Take 1 -
Elise: *sitting in a desert prison, remembering her father*
Father: *offstage* You're a good girl, Elise. Remember, be brave. Don't cry, no matter what happens.
Sonic: Ey, it's the old man that reads you the hints in stages!
Father: A pleasure to meet you, Sonic. *bows*
Arumakan: Save the introductory for later, please.
Father: My apologies.
- Take 2 -
Father: Don't cry, no matter what happens.
Sonic: *tries charging into the wall, but just runs headlong into it*
Tails: Wasn't that wall supposed to be soft?
Silver: *laughs back stage*
Sonic: Ouch…
Tails: *knocks on the wall, seeing that it's a cement slab* That could have seriously hurt someone!
Silver: Oh, c'mon, you're all just weak!
Sonic: *grumbles* Can someone just lock him in a closet…
Arumakan: Why don't we just get rid of the wall?
Sonic: I like that better!
- Take 3 -
Sonic: *is about to walk into the room when, once again, he hits a solid surface, even though there's nothing there* What the…? *notices a slight blue green aura around the area where an invisible wall would be* SILVER!
Silver: Uh oh…*tries flying off, only to have the fur around the back of his neck grabbed by the angry blue hedgehog*
Sonic: May I show him out?
Arumakan: *sighs* Go ahead.
Sonic: *carries him out of the room, locking him in his trailer with bubble wrap to distract him, returns minutes later* I'm sick of being made a fool of.
Amy: *whispers to Tails* And that's why he's getting rid of the competition.
Tails: *snickers*
- Take 4 -
Sonic: *walks into the room, a small crashing sound effect added to make it seem like he broke the wall down, keeping a stony expression*
Tails: *waves excitedly like a little kid from behind him*
Elise: *stands* Mr. Sonic!
Sonic: *shakes his finger* Just call me Sonic.
Elise: *suddenly hugs him*
Sonic: *eyes widen* Well then…Are you okay?
Elise: I'm so glad you came…
Sonic: That doesn't really answer my question…but okay.
Amy: *suddenly bursts out laughing*
Sonic: What?
Amy: *giggles* From this angle, I just realized how enormous your head is compared to hers.
Elise: Well, maybe that's because I'm a human and he's not.
Tails: *grumbles* You keep telling yourself that, miss. We'll see what you think later on.
- Take 5 -
Elise: I'm so glad that you came…
Sonic: *nods* I always keep my word.
Amy: EXCEPT THAT DATE YOU PROMISED ME!
Sonic: That was one time!
Amy: No, that was three times! And you always have wild reasons for why you missed the date! "I was transported to another dimension," "I was suddenly ambushed by a water monster," "There was a dark alien attack." What's next, you get caught in a storybook and end up being some sort of king?! Or maybe you're secretly some sort of werewolf thing!
Sonic: Well, actually—
Amy: I don't want to hear it! *stomps off, slamming the door*
Blaze: *sighs* Men. *goes to comfort her*
Sonic: All of those are true, though! It's not my fault I have a crazy life!
Elise: You're a werewolf?
Sonic: I think the right, yet inaccurate word would be "werehog," and no. *mumbles* But according to SEGA's secret records for future games—
Arumakan: You went through SEGA's secret records?!
Sonic: No! Not at all! Hey, look! I giant robot dog! *points then runs off*
Knuckles: *grabs Sonic before he can get too far and places the pouting hedgehog back on set* Can we please get this over with? I'm hungry.
- Take 6 -
Sonic: I always keep my word…*whispers* Most of the time…
Tails: *waves his arms in alarm* SONIC!
Eggman: *stands in front of a giant robot dog*
Knuckles: *mumbles* Oh, he was serious about that robot dog…
Eggman: It looks like a pesky rat has stuck its nose where it doesn't belong. Well, a hedgehog to be more precise…
Sonic: I'm not a rat! I'm a hedgehog!
Eggman: Er, that's what I said. Anyway, the Princess is mine until I unlock the secret files to SEGA's games!
Sonic: *laughs* You're trying to get those too? They're interesting, to say the least!
Arumakan: Sonic!
Sonic: I mean I bet they are…
- Take 7 -
Eggman: The Princess is mine until I unlock the secret of the Flames of Disaster. *fist pumps for no real reason*
Sonic: *stands in the way of Elise* Tails!
Tails: Got it! Let's go! Even though I won't be doing much, but I'll follow you anywhere!
Sonic: *nods*
Arumakan: And scene. Let's take a break.
(Break)
Everyone broke off to go get their lunches, but Sonic had other plans. He took off in the opposite direction of where he was supposed to go.
While Tails headed to the tech room where he had stored his lunch in the mini fridge, he passed by a storage closet, where he heard someone banging on the inside of the door. He paused and looked back at it. The banging had stopped for a moment, then a command was shouted and the door was blasted down. Shadow stepped out, fuming with rage.
"When I get my hands on that fake…" he was grumbling angrily.
"Shadow?" Tails asked. "What were you doing in there?"
Shadow suddenly picked him up by his chest fur, lifting him off the ground. "Where's that so-called buddy of yours?"
Tails looked at the raging hedgehog with surprise. "Um, I don't know, I think he went to get his lunch—"
Shadow abruptly dropped him and skated off.
Tails got up and brushed himself off, shrugging it off. He got his lunch and went to join everyone in the cafeteria. Standing in a corner, glowering, was Shadow (except it was really Sonic who had used the Character Modifier to make himself look like the anti-hero), glaring out at everyone in the room. For the moment, Tails couldn't tell the difference, so he sat down with his other friends to wait for Sonic.
"That's Sonic over there," Knuckles said in a low whisper, nodding over to the fake Shadow in the corner.
"Really?" Tails asked, sneaking a glance back. "He better be careful. I found the real Shadow, and he's mad."
"How mad?" Amy asked.
"Like, red Chaos aura mad," Tails explained. "I think Sonic locked him in the storage closet."
"Oooh," Knuckles and Amy said in unison.
"He's gonna get it," Amy grinned.
"I thought you wouldn't want him to get hurt," Knuckles said, sounding surprised.
"I'm mad at him right now," Amy said with a huff, sticking her nose in the air. "He deserves it."
Tails sighed. "Girls."
Knuckles bent his head low and spoke in a whisper, "Speaking of the girlish of girls…"
Elise sat down with them. "Hello," she said pleasantly. She had changed out of her costume and was now wearing a glittery, long-sleeved white shirt underneath a black vest and jean shorts. Her hair was pushed back in a headband, and she looked very casual. "Have any of you seen Sonic?"
All three shook their heads.
"Well, I just saw Shadow running down the hall, murmuring something about him," Elise said. "He looked pretty angry about something." Then she noticed Sonic-the-Shadow in the corner. "Oh, did he already get here?"
Amy giggled and shook her head. "That is Sonic in the corner."
Elise raised her very orange eyebrows, and her mouth opened a little in a small, surprised O.
Just then, Shadow, the real Shadow, burst in through the doors, which banged loudly against the walls, startling almost everyone in the hall. A sly smirk spread across Sonic-the-Shadow's muzzle as he saw the appearance of the hedgehog he was impersonating.
"Where's Sonic?" Shadow demanded. Then his crimson eyes landed on Sonic-the-Shadow, and his eyes widened. Sonic-the-Shadow stood up straight, wiping the smirk from his face.
"What's this?" Sonic-the-Shadow asked, taking a few steps forward to the center of the room. He was impersonating Shadow's voice. "A true faker?"
"I'm not the faker here," Shadow snapped, glowering at the copy.
"Oh?" Sonic-the-Shadow asked, raising a questionable eyebrow. "I know I'm the real thing. How do you know you're not…an android?"
A collective intake of breath went throughout the room from the people who knew who was who. Shadow took a step back, a hand to his chest. There was a conflicted look in his eyes as he searched his faulty memory for him ever being an android. An amused expression crossed Sonic-the-Shadow's face, his arms crossed. Then something caught Shadow's eye, and his expression hardened. He took a few steps toward him and grabbed Sonic-the-Shadow's wrist, jerking it up.
"Couldn't find a correct match for my Inhibitor Rings, now could you, Sonic?" he hissed in a dangerous tone. Sonic-the-Shadow's face paled, knowing he was found out. A collective, amused "ooooh," went throughout the room, knowing of the danger to come.
"Hold up, what's going on here?" Arumakan asked, standing up. He was one of the few not in on the joke.
"This faker is about to get his butt kicked," Shadow snarled, his grip tightening on Sonic's arm, making him wince. He raised his voice. "Everyone out!"
People started to filter out.
"Could someone please explain to me what's going on?" Arumakan asked.
Knuckles put an arm around his shoulder. "Let me tell you something about these two…" he muttered, leading him out of the cafeteria. Now only Tails, Amy, and Blaze remained while others watched from the cafeteria windows.
"What are you doing?" Shadow said in a low, tense voice to Sonic.
Sonic gulped, knowing he was in trouble. He tried regaining his composure under the fierce glare of the temperamental hedgehog. "I don't know what you're talking about," he said stiffly in Shadow's voice.
Shadow slid has hand up Sonic's arm and popped the ring off Sonic's wrist. He caught it between his forefinger and this thumb. "I can tell the difference between your gold Rings and my Inhibitors," he said in a scary calm voice. "Now, do you want to prove to me that you're the real Shadow, or do I have to take off my Inhibitors and show you the true power of Shadow the Hedgehog?"
Sonic snatched his Ring back, dropping the act. "Fine, you win," he said in his own voice. "I got sick of you calling me faker and thinking you're better than me. You never get in trouble, so I figured since we're so alike, I could cause some trouble for you." He smirked. "It was quite a good prank, if I say so myself."
Shadow sniffed. "A good prank, you say," he said. "I'll show you the consequences of messing with the Ultimate Lifeform." He caught Sonic by his false chest fur the Character Modifier had given him and raised his fist, Sonic cringing, preparing for the punch to come.
"S-Stop!" Amy cried, standing. Tails and Sonic looked at her in surprise. "I…I don't want Sonic to get hurt," she said sheepishly. "Why don't you just call it even and leave each other alone for a while?"
"Leave each other alone?" Shadow repeated. "You think I—"
"She's right," Sonic protested, putting up his hands in front of him. "Maybe I went too far."
Shadow raised an eyebrow at him then raised his fist further.
Sonic cringed again. "I'm sorry!" he blurted.
Shadow smirked slightly. "What was that?"
The blue hedgehog grit his teeth as if the words hurt. "I'm…I'm so…so…sorr…I'm sorry."
Shadow dropped Sonic on his hands and knees. "You better be."
Everyone came in and clapped, but Sonic looked like a part of his pride had been shattered.
"That's the kind of spirit we need in the games!" Arumakan cried. "Brilliant!"
"C'mon," Tails said, lifting Sonic-the-Shadow to his feet, who looked crushed that his plan had backfired. "Let's get you back to yourself."
((And scene! I was going to add much more to this chapter, but then I came with the rivalry idea, which took up much of the chapter. Now I have material for the later stages since I've beaten Wave Ocean (well, I didn't beat it, my will-be boyfriend, Pastrinator64 did when he came over to my house), and all the stages after that up until White Acropolis. That'll be good for another three chapters, including the box glitch! Yay! Also, it's fun to make references to other games, even if they come after Sonic '06, and there's quite a few in this chapter. XD How many can you find?
Remember to suggest glitches and reasons for glitches you've come across, especially for Dusty Desert since I couldn't find many other than dash panels that lead you into walls.
Thanks for sticking around and being patient! I've started high school now so chapters may be hard to write, not that I write them fairly consistently anyway. But anywho, see you all later!))
