No reviews for the last one? Awwww, I really wanted to see what people thought of that one.
No creatures this time around, but it addresses something that always bugged me in the show.
The Code Masters had no idea how they got to Chaotic the first time.
They really didn't. It wasn't an accident caused on earth, it wasn't something they intended to do, something they planned or even anticipated. It was just they went to bed one day, and when they woke up they were here.
They didn't know who really created Chaotic.
They didn't know why they were taken there.
They certainly didn't understand why they knew every single in and out of Chaotic despite none of them having any experience with technology of this caliber.
They really didn't understand how they also knew the names of every single significant creature in Perim, or that there even was a Perim.
And they certainly didn't understand why they instinctually knew they had to bring more people there.
They suspected as to what had brought them there, though why exactly was the bigger mystery.
They did know one thing, and that was an element they had in common.
Most of them had nothing left for them on Earth.
Hottek's family had abandoned him, left him on the street to fend for himself from a young age.
Amzen had lost her large family to tragedy.
Oron was homeless and on the streets.
Tirasis was a veteran with no family left except for his therapy dog, the only non-human being that had been taken with them.
Imthor had a dead-end job, a loveless marriage with a cheating wife, and 'friends' that didn't care.
Churrel, the youngest of them, had been bounced from Foster home to Foster home his whole life and had finally ran away for the third or so time.
In short, they were all 'nobodies' people who didn't stand out and wouldn't be missed should they suddenly vanish.
All except for Crellan.
Crellan had grown up with a loving family, and had met the woman of his dreams who loved him as much as he loved her. He had numerous friends and family members who cared deeply about him, not to mention people he loved and needed him.
And his whole life had been ripped away from him in a single instant.
Subsequently he was the one who protested the most. He was the one who raged and screamed, cursed and threatened, struggled and fought until his fists were bleeding, his voice no longer worked, and he didn't even have the energy to cry anymore.
You could still see the scars on his fists when he changed back into his true appearance, not the pale child he used to confront particularly struggling players, or the strangely shaped Code Master armor.
It took well over a year before he finally accepted his new fate, pushing aside his rage and grief for the sake of his own sanity.
The other Code Masters had honestly thought that would be the lowest they would ever see their friend. And it would be for the next decade they spent organizing and starting up Chaotic back on earth. Like all wounds, time healed the scars the loss left behind, and by the time players started arriving he was much more like he was before he was dragged to Chaotic.
That is, until one player in particular waltzed into his drome for the first time, completely and utterly unaware of the devastating blow they caused just by being there.
And they wouldn't know, they couldn't know.
No one except for the other Code Masters could ever know that Crellan hadn't just been torn away from his spouse, but their toddler son.
And no one, absolutely no one could ever know that said toddler son, would grow up to adopt the screen name MajorTom.
This is probably the most absolutely cliche explanation for Crellan's favoritism towards Tom, but I don't care it always bugged me that Crellan showed so much interest in Tom for no apparent reason.
