Author's note:

"That was too close." Spencer muttered as he paced the motel room. They had all just gotten back from taking out the group of Vetalas, though it turned out Castiel and Gabriel had done most of the work. Sam had called the Trickster and he had told the blue eyed Angel that Dean was in trouble. "It was way too close. How am I going to keep it hidden? He heard what she said. Even he isn't that stupid-," He was cut off as he bumped into Billy, who had been stood watching him for the last five minutes with a glass of whiskey in his hand.

"Will y' calm the fuck down."

"How can I calm down?"

"Because I told y' I won't let him hurt y'." Billy told him, staring down at him with an intense gaze. "So stop worrying because if he does find out an' try somethin' I'll-,"

"You'll what, Billy?" Spencer looked up at his partner with an irritated expression. "Kill him?"

"If that's what I have t' do yeah."

Billy had said it with so much ease and truth. . .it made Spencer mad. "How can you say that!? He's my family. . .yours too."

"Because if it comes t' it, it's savin' you or killin' him. There ain't no competition."

Spencer's cheeks heated up. In no way shape or form did he want Billy killing Dean –he was basically his brother- but to know the lengths the ex-con would go to just to keep him safe. . .gave him a warm feeling deep inside; what was that feeling? "W-why?"

Billy kept his intense gaze as he rubbed at his jaw with his knuckles before taking a swig of his drink. "Why what?"

"Why would you do all that for me?"

Billy stared into the kid's big brown eyes. Those big fucking eyes always set something off in him –lately it was at inappropriate times. He sighed and put his glass on the side before grabbing at Spencer's face and snaking his other arm around his waist. 'Y' really got t' ask?', was all he wanted to say to him. . .but he couldn't.

"Are you gonna play mad at me all night?" Gabriel asked as he watched Sam slam the door.

"I'm not playing Gabriel, I could lose him."

The Arch-Angel gave a dramatic sigh. "You're not going to lose him. . .he'll just be mad for a while. You do realise I saved your ass earlier right? I didn't have to kill those bitches for you."

"You owed me!" Sam snapped and turned to face Gabriel, only to jump as the Angel appeared in front of him.

"I don't owe you anything."

Sam watched the Angel closely; this was the closest he had seen the short Angel to been mad. "Then why did you help?"

"Because you asked me to Sam."

Dean stared down at his Angel; his hands were fisted in the sheets, black hair ruffled, head pressed into the mattress but twisted to the side so Dean could see his face contorted in pleasure as he moaned out, his back was arched inwards which gave Dean the perfect view of his hard, thick dick slipping in and out of Cas.

It really was the perfect view.

He tugged on Cas one, two, three more times before he felt his Angel release into his hand. Groaning as he pushed into him, with Cas pressing back against him, he came.

He flopped down next to Castiel as he turned onto his side, they smiled at each other. He loved having sex with the Angel but he also enjoyed lying next to him after the deed. He reached out and pulled Cas into a tight embrace.

He had been worried about his Angel. He had been wandering off more and more lately.

"Dean, why is Spencer mad at Sam?"

"You're brining that up now?" The Hunter laughed. "Don't know, the kid says they're alright. . .but he wasn't acting it. Oh, and speaking of the kid, something weird happened when we were tied up."

"Weird?" Castiel asked, twisting his neck awkwardly to look at the Hunter.

"Yeah, the one that bit Spencer started foaming this black gooey shit. It was like. . .I don't know, as if his blood poisoned the bitch." Dean said, remembering what had happened. "Then she died. Don't get me wrong, 'm glad cause I guess it saved him but. . .what'd cause somethin' like that?"

Castiel sat up and looked towards the door, a frown on his face.

"Cas? What's wrong?"

"I. . .there are very few things that could cause a reaction such as that."

"C'mon man, what are they?"

"I should not say."

Dean sat up, and gave the Angel an irritated look. "What? Why the hell not?" He was starting to worry now. Was there something wrong with the kid? Was he sick? Was he. . .dying? Is that why his blood had poisoned the Vetala?

"I believe if I am correct. . .you would rather not know." Castiel looked away from the door as Dean grabbed his arm. There was flurry of emotions in his Hunters beautiful green eyes: worry, pleading, annoyance. He had never met anyone –especially a Human- who could convey so many emotions at once as Dean could. "I would rather be sure before I say anything."

"Cas, just tell me." Dean said, his tone one of urgency. He had to know what was wrong with the kid. Maybe there was still time to help him. Maybe he didn't even know there was something wrong.

Castiel sighed. He knew he shouldn't say anything without been sure but as he thought about it, there was more reason to believe he was right. "Demon blood is at the top of the list."

Dean let out a relieved sigh; maybe the kid wasn't too ill then. Wait. "Demon blood? Well, we know it ain't that."

"Do we?"

The blond Hunter frowned. He had noticed –he may be stupid but he wasn't blind- Cas could be. . .well, jealous. . .of the kid sometimes, usually when he was been overly nice to Spencer, but he didn't think he would start accusing the kid of been a Demon. "Yeah, we do."

"I have noticed things before. . ." The Angel paused as Dean climbed off the bed, storming about as he pulled his boxers and jeans on. "Dean, please, just listen to me."

"Why, so you can tell me how you think Spencer is half-Deamon? Hell no. I'm not listening to this shit." He pulled his t-shirt on and started towards the door, only for a still naked Cas to appear in front of him. "Move."

"No, not until you listen to me." Castiel moved to block Dean as the Hunter tried to sidestep him. "I am not saying this to be mean Dean,"

"Then why are y'?"

"You have known Spencer longer than I have, can you honestly say you've never felt something was not right."

"Just move." Dean snapped. He knew why he was getting angrier. He had noticed small things through the years, but always put it down to his mind playing tricks on him due to lack of sleep or some other shit.

"Why are you so reluctant to believe me?"

"He's basically my brother, Cas. And you're telling me he's half o' the things I hate most!"

"You have noticed things, haven't you?"

Dean sighed and threw his hands up in an exasperated gesture. "Okay, fine, yes!" He moved away from Castiel, rubbing at his face. "A few years back, before I knew you. . .I was on a hunt. The werewolf should have got me, but I felt someone shove me. . .but when I looked Sam and Spencer were too far away to have done it. . .but I could o' sworn someone moved me."

"He had used his powers."

"Don't say that! We. . .we don't know for sure." The blond said. It was unconvincing even to him. "And wouldn't you have been able to sense it, y'know, the Demon part?"

"Normally yes, but he must have been keeping a guard up." Castiel let out a small sigh as he saw the confusion on his Hunter's face. "Which would keep him safe from been found out. It would stop him smelling or giving off anything that would portray him as part Demon."

"What? What's that look for?" Dean asked as Castiel frowned, thinking.

"To be able to do that for so long. . .especially with his more recent contact of Angels. . .he must be quite powerful."

Dean took in a deep and shaky breath before letting it back out. "And that's bad, right?"

Spencer jumped as the motel room's door swung open, banging into the adjoining wall. "D-Dean? What's wrong?" He asked but didn't get an answer. He stood up from his chair at the table, wondering what could have the oldest Winchester looking so angry. Oh, it was probably Billy. What the heck had he done now? "He's not here Dean, he's gone for some more beer."

He watched as Dean took a deep breath before he hurried over to him. And then it happened fast as he was grabbed by the neck and slammed against the wall. He coughed out in pain.

Dean stared into the kid's wide scared filled eyes with an intense agony filled gaze. "Tell me Castiel is wrong."

"W-w-what are you. . .t-talking about?" Spencer choked out as Dean's grip tightened. He wasn't sure but what else could it be about other than what he was? He knew he hadn't damaged the Impala when he drove it and there was nothing else that sprung to mind as to why Dean would be as angry as he was. He wondered if Gabriel had told Castiel. Or maybe Sam had.

"Don't play dumb Spence, that's one thing you're not." He pulled his –Ruby's- knife out and held it against the kid's neck, using the hold he already had to push his head back further against the wall, stretching his neck out. He knew the knife didn't kill half-Demons but he was sure it would hurt them. Him. Spencer. The kid. No. . .the Cambion.

"Dean, please, just calm down." Spencer squirmed in Dean's grasp. From what he knew, the knife had never been used on a Cambion so he had no idea what it would do to him. "Let's talk please."

"Are you half-Demon?"

Spencer's eyes widened in panic. Of course it had been about that. "I-I don't know what you're talki-,"

"Don't lie to me." Dean yelled before his tone turned to a pleading one. He hoped he was wrong, he really did. . .but the more he had thought about it the more he knew he was right. There were too many incidents that proved he was right. "Are you a Cambion?"

"Please, let's just talk-," The younger Hunter moaned out in pain as he was pulled away from the wall only to be slammed back against it. He looked at Dean. The blond Hunter already knew the answer and he was just hoping –begging- he was wrong. He let out a choked sob. "Fine, you win okay, j-just please, put the knife down."

Dean could feel the tears spring to his eyes. Cas had been right. He let go of Spencer and took a step back but kept the knife out. He couldn't believe this. How was Spencer a Cambion. . .and he'd not known?

"Dean, put the knife down okay?"

He didn't know why but that made him angry. He looked at the kid and went to grab him again but didn't get the chance as he was pulled back. For a second he thought Spencer had used his powers but then saw Billy move to stand in front of his partner.

"You knew, didn't you?"

Billy turner away from the kid –ignoring the pleading look he was giving him. He rubbed at his jaw with his knuckles, anger taking over everything in his body. "What the fuck were y' doin' wit' the knife Winchester?"

"You knew and didn't do anything about it!?" Dean as he stood up.

"What the fuck was I 'sposed t' do!?" Billy snapped at the blond.

"Kill him!"

Spencer let out a small whimper. He didn't know why, this was what he had been afraid of, why he had kept his secret from Dean. He knew this was how the older Winchester would react. . .so. . .why did it hurt so much hearing him say those words?

That was all Billy needed. He had been holding back, knowing how Spencer felt about Dean. . .and truth be told he didn't really want to kill him because when it came down to it, they were family. . .but hearing the blond Hunter say those words pushed him over the edge. He didn't care now. He let his anger take hold of him.

He lunged for Dean, fist colliding with his face.

Dean stumbled back, wiping away blood from his mouth with the back of his hand. "Bastard,"

Spencer watched as they both went for each other, fists hitting faces and sides. Dean hit Billy with enough force to knock the other hunter to the floor but Billy swung his legs out from under him, knocking him to the floor.

They rolled around with Dean ending up on top, hitting Billy in the face. Spencer watched as his partner spat out blood, only for Dean to hit him again while yelling,

"You should have stopped him!"

Billy grabbed Dean's shirt as he quickly double jabbed at his side with his other fist, when Dean groaned out and stopped punching him, he flipped them over. "He hasn't done anythin' wrong! Y' can't change who he is just cause y' don' fuckin' like it!" He went to hit Dean again but stopped when he felt someone grab his arm.

"Stop it, please." Spencer begged.

The tattooed Hunter sighed and stood up, kicking at Dean as he stepped over him. "What? He had a knife at your neck, that's the least he fuckin' deserves."

"I'm sorry, I. . .I couldn't move." Spencer said touching his partner's face; his lip was cut, nose was bust, and in places he was starting to bruise already. He had just stood there and watched. How could he do that? He knew the answer, how was he supposed to pick between Dean and Billy?

Gabriel pulled away from Sam, sighing. "You should go."

"Erm, what?" Sam asked, annoyed. "You're finally getting what you want and you want. . .but you want me to leave?" He said as he motioned between him and the Arch-Angel that was sitting on his lap.

Gabriel sighed again and slid off of Sam's legs, starting towards the door. "You should go check on your geek."

"Wha-what?"

"Just go get him before it's too late." The Arch-Angel told him. He was always trying to get Sam away from his friend, and now he was pushing him towards him. The blond hunter couldn't have waited at least another half hour before figuring it out? At least then he would have had more of Sam. "Go." He opened the motel door and ushered him out.

Spencer had almost forgotten Dean was there, he had been too busy staring at Billy. That was until the blond shoved Billy out of the way, his knife swinging at Spencer.

Billy moved quickly, but not quick enough. He pulled Dean by the back of his coat. . .making it so the knife only sliced at Spencer instead of stabbing him.

Spencer could feel the pain shooting through his chest, but knew it hadn't done any serious damage. And it hadn't hurt in any other way than a normal knife would have, so now he knew it wouldn't kill Cambions.

"Bastard!" Billy yelled but before he could hit Dean he stumbled back. He realised it was the dark haired Angel that had shoved him away from his Hunter, he noticed it wasn't with enough force to hurt him. . .just to get him away from Dean.

Dean moved quickly, getting past Castiel, his knife raised as he went for Billy.

"No!" Spencer shouted and made Dean stop in his tracks, with no more than the thought of it. He made the blond Hunter's arm twist –with more force than he had meant-, making him drop the knife onto the ground.

Billy made sure to stand in front of Spencer as he watched Castiel step closer to them. The Angel might not have hurt him but that didn't mean he wasn't here to hurt the kid. He reached for his gun as he watched Cas stand protectively in front of an angry Dean. "'S okay kid, y' can let him go." He watched as Dean sagged, been released from the Cambion powers of his partner.

"What the hell Cas, you could have stopped him!" Dean snapped at his Angel, his eyes on Spencer and Billy.

"You said you were going to talk to him, Dean, not attack."

"You were right, he's a. . ."

"Say it, Dean." Spencer spoke out. He moved Billy's arm that was trying to hold him behind his body. He kept hold of his partner's arm. "Say what I am."

"Don't talk to me." Dean sneered, jabbing the knife in his direction.

"Keep it up with that fuckin' knife Winchester and 'm gonna shove it up your as-,"

"What the hell is going on in here!?" Sam yelled as he came into the room, Gabriel following behind him. He saw the way everyone was standing protecting or been protected, the knife on the floor and the way Spencer's shirt was sliced, blood dripping down his front. Oh shit. Dean hadn't done that, had he? Would he really try to-he couldn't even think about his brother trying to kill their family. "What happene-,"

"Sammy, stay away from him he's a-,"

"He already knows asshole!" Billy yelled.

Spencer watched as Dean's angry look turned to a confused and hurt one as he looked at Sam. "He figured it out after the Vetala." He blurted out ignoring the mad look he got off Billy and the confused one off Sam. He couldn't let Dean know his brother had always known. He just couldn't. "Why does it matter Dean? You let it go when it was Sam with the Demon blood-,"

"That was different!"

"Why? I thought I was family too." Spencer asked, tears springing to his eyes.

"Yeah," Dean let out a shaky breath. "so did I."

Spencer actually looked down to check he hadn't been stabbed through the heart, because that was what it felt like. Billy didn't care what he was. Sam didn't care. Even Bobby and Rufus didn't care. Why did Dean care? Why was it such a big thing?

Billy felt his partner squeeze at his arm before he felt the shaking. Fuck. Even he hadn't thought Dean would react so badly if he found out. He thought the blond Winchester loved the kid enough to let it go, after a bit of shouting that is. He twisted his arm and took hold of Spencer's hand –for once not caring that everyone could see- and gave it a reassuring squeeze, keeping a tight hold of it. "Get the fuck out."

"Hell no, not til-,"

"Get the fuck out before I kill you." Billy said in a low threatening tone. In all his years hunting and been a gang lord he had never been so angry. He had never spoken with such venom in his voice. He knew everyone in the room believed he meant every word.

"Just give it up Dean." Sam said quietly. He had no idea what to do.

Billy watched as the Angel nudged the Hunter, making him move. When Dean stopped close to him and Spencer, he knew there was no point trying to go for him because he could see how intently Castiel was watching them; he was clearly ready this time. . .Dean was not getting past him but neither was Billy.

"Come near me or my brother again, I'll end you."

Billy's grip on his gun tightened, but Dean left the room followed by the Angel. He watched as Sam took a step closer to them while the Trickster stood against the open door looking bored.

"Spence. . .a-are you okay?"

Spencer nodded but it was Billy that answered. "He'll be fine."

"Sam c'mon!" Dean yelled from outside.

"Not that I care but I think you should go with your brother, just till he calms down." Gabriel chimed in.

Sam knew Gabriel was making sense but he didn't want to leave, not with things the way they were. If he left. . .would things stay this way?

"I've got him, Sam." Billy said as he turned to look at the younger Winchester. He still didn't like Sam, but he knew he was worried about the kid. . .and if Dean ended up coming back in to the room, he really would go at him with the full intention of killing him. "Go with your brother."

Sam stared at Billy for a moment. He was surprised at how calm the tattooed Hunter was been. He knew he could leave Spence and he'd be okay, and really, what could he do to make his friend feel better after his brother had tried to kill him? He nodded at Billy, his eyes moving onto Spencer who was looking at the floor. "I-I'll see you soon." He left the room, pulling Gabriel with him.

Billy turned and stood in front of the kid. "Wan' me t' take a look at that?" He motioned to the cut on his partner's chest. Spencer shook his head, keeping it down. He could tell the kid was crying. It wasn't often that he saw the kid cry. . .but when he did, it hurt. He never knew how to help so most of the time he just left him to it. But things were different now.

He rubbed at his jaw, somewhat agitated; he knew why the kid was crying and it wasn't because the cut hurt. It was because of what Dean had said. "Do y' want me t' leave y' alone?" Spencer shook his head. He knew what to do now. He stepped closer, so Spencer's head was touching his chest, and wrapped his arms around the thin shaking frame.

Spencer fisted his hand in Billy's shirt, letting the tears and sobs free.
