Chapter 7: Actions Speak louder than words
A/N: So as I have said before I appologise for my lack of updating for most of the year. I had the plot written out, it was just a matter of not having any time or motivation to write. I was busy focusing on school work and it payed off, I did well on my exams and got a GPA of 93. I'd say that's great and now to make up for that I am going to do a lot of writing this summer for this fanfiction! I plan to acomplish more this summer and that means this fanfcition as well as other stuff. I have a lot planned for this fanfiction, like maybe some side stories that last a chapter, like things that are not neccessary, but people may want to see. Like places where Kaelan was not, since thi is it is limited to his perspective. Like what went on at tryouts for example or what happened after Kaelan left the Nordics at the Airport. Anyways just thought I'd put that out there for you and if you would like that please message me~!
Also one more thing, you should really thank my sister for this chapter/my motivation, she made a fanart recently for DenZen and it gave me so many feels! Feels that turned into motivation to write/type.
This cover is done by my sis! *fc05.*deviantart.*net/fs70/f/2013/087/e/0/denzen_ nuances_cover_by_totallyemo0273-d5zk23v.*png Remove stars to take a closer look!
Disclaimer~ I do not own Hetalia or any of these characters. If I did then all of the pairings I loved would be canon.
Now on with the chapter!
Kaelan eventually did get out of his tight squeeze, Elizabeta opened the door after prying Alfred and Arthur away. Just when Kaelan thought his troubles would end, his savior stepped in and kicked him out, screaming "Pervert". Now the whole girls team will know his as the pervert that tried to peep in on them.
"Perfect," Kaelan muttered, glaring at his cousin as they walked home.
The following day of school was torture and driving Kaelan insane. He was already running late this morning and to make matters worse Steven was ignoring him. Throughout the whole period he tried countless times to get Steven's attention, but his efforts were futile.
"Hey Steven! Mate?" The Kiwi whispered repetitively to the Australian, slowly growing more annoyed at his childish behavior. The Aussie finally swiveled in his stool to face the members of his group, sniffing the air. Only then did they realize that Arthur was burning something.
"Arthur!" They screamed in unison as the whole class turned and looked in horror, before bursting out into a fit of laughter.
"Oh mon dieu, what is this? Are you trying to burn this place down, Arthur?" Francis snickered before heading over to Ol' Fritz desk and waking him up. He really was getting old and often took naps if all seemed good in the class. Immediately after Arthur was asked kindly to step down and let his partners do the cooking for the rest of the class. As the bell rang for their next class Kaelan tried to explain himself to Steven and confront him, only to see Steven's already retreating figure go out the door. A small frown crossed his lips, but he shrugged it off and barley made it to music class on time. Kaelan took his seat in between Gilbert and Roderich and for once they were not bickering, maybe things were looking up for him.
"So Kaelan," Or maybe not...
Gilbert glanced over at the blonde with a look that could be considered as concern or maybe that was just Kaelan being hopeful.
"You seem pretty down this morning and it's kind of bringing my awesome mood down, so why don't you tell Ol'Gilbo what's eating at you." Roderich scowled at the German's pushiness, getting ready to interject if he found it necessary.
"I'm not sure what you are talking about Gilbert, sorry if I'm making your mood sour over nothing. I'm fine, really," He finished and hoped that he would not press the subject further. Sadly Gilbert is not that type of person and the whole world seemed to be against him today.
"You know I'm serious about this right? When one person is down it gets everyone down, am I right Maddie?" The German threw a grin back at Matthew, the poor soul flushed at the sudden nickname. Matthew nodded slightly before busying himself by looking at an old music book.
"Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that I won't stop until I get to the bottom of this-" A book full of sheet music collided with the albino's face and knocked him out of his chair. The kiwi almost felt bad for him, almost.
"Gilbert, stop pressing him for information, you are probably more concerned with satisfying your curiosity rather than helping him!" The brunette fumed, smoothing out nonexistent wrinkles from his uniform. Gilbert gaped at him, obviously offended by his accusation.
"I'm hurt that you honestly think that Rodie, but I am genuinely curious and concerned, can't I be both? I mean surely you must be worried if you're butting in so much!" He retorted quickly as he stood back up, not bothering to pick up the mess on the floor.
"What? I'm just looking out for him and he obviously doesn't want to talk about it!" The huffing student raised his voice, both not hearing the door open.
"Ahem, it appears that Gilbert neglected to mention that I would be late and in turn did not hand out your first assignment. If you two wouldn't mind, I'd like to start my class. If you wish to continue your gossip and bickering, then you can do so on your own time!" Mr. Germania finished, slamming the door behind him. The exchange student turned to look at their momentarily blank faces before convulsing into a tiny ball of laughter. The duo snapped out of their haze, Roderich gently smiled as Gilbert winked.
"Hey Rodie, we may not have found out what was bothering him, but we did put a smile on his face!"
"Mr. Beilschmidt, be quiet!"
Although music class did make him forget his troubles, math class brought them back with full force. Today in class things seemed to be too quiet or to Kaelan at least. Mathias was quiet most of the class and didn't even say a word. Did Kaelan upset him? Maybe Mathias saw no reason to talk to him after he apologized, the kiwi did not know for sure, but that seemed reasonable enough to him.
Lunch was pretty boring, apparently Ludwig, Kiku, and Feliciano were apart of the school's newspaper and had to attend a meeting at noon. Thankfully Alfred was no where in sight due to his other student council meetings with Arthur, so he'd have a perfect-lonely noon. That is what he thought, until he felt a light tap on his shoulder.
"Hola Kaelan! Where were you yesterday, we missed you at tryouts. Everyone was excited to see you and Steven," The emerald eyed man questioned. The other quickly explained himself to Antonio, seeking advice.
"Oh well amigo, Steven seemed pretty disappointed and tryouts are already over...I know! Maybe you could join the cheerleading squad or something. Like instead of just watching in the audience, you could cheer at all their games!" Kaelan stared back at Antonio as the man excitedly explained his plan before nodding.
"Who knows, maybe I will, thanks for your help mate!" He hollered as the bell rang and headed to his last two periods.
Thankfully his mind was finally void of problems and the rest of the day flew by. In fact Kaelan was just about to head down to the student council room to fetch Arthur, only to crash into someone. Papers were thrown into the air and strewed all over the hallway, eventually revealing a flustered Felik and Toris.
"Like ow! Watch where you are going, I mean seriously, just because you're new doesn't mean you can just crash into people! Toris pick those up." Toris promptly picked up the fliers before Kaelan joined in.
"Sorry, Felik," The student apologized softly as he looked down at the fliers.
'World Academy Official Cheer Squad
Tryouts will be held next week on Thursday and Friday
Be there or be like totally square!'
Felik noticed his sudden interest in the fliers and knowingly smirked.
"Oh so you're either into cheerleaders or you actually want to like totally join?" Toris smiled sheepishly at Kaelan as he finished picking up the remaining evidence of their collision.
"About that, if I were to join," He paused for a second at Feliks sudden squeal then continued, "I wouldn't have to wear a skirt or anything like that right?" In all honesty he had no sweet clue about cheerleading, so a question like this was bound to pop up.
"Well you normally wouldn't have to, but since you'll be the first guy we've had in a while, you'll have to wait until we ordered some new uniforms. That is if you make it, though it would give us and edge, maybe even distract the other team, and your friend Steven will like it!" The blond looked back at the other blond with a questioning glance, wondering how he knew about that.
"Oh honey, I know all of the gossip, now what do you say?
"I'll see you Thursday!"
A/N: Alright another chapter done! Sorry that this was not that long, but it's still a chapter. I'd like to thank anyone that has stuck around and put up with me.
