AN: Okay, so the M rating is coming, seriously. I think a couple of chapters away, excited?
Today's fact: Tony was supposed to be a psychic, but 1) it's been done 2) I'm lazy 3) There is a plan or two involving her being "normal" (like Dean) and anyway, anyone taking angst away from Sam, is a huge no-no.
Chapter Seven
Bloodlust Part Two
Making her way to Gordon's car Tony took in the sight as she walked farther up ahead with Gordon, leaving the brothers to trail behind. She knew she owed them an explanation, but they never asked, she reasoned.
"You always said get a car that would get the job done, in and out, don't draw attention." Tony mocked as she stared at the candy apple red finish; she was starting to hate this new Gordon more and more.
"So working with the Winchesters," Gordon commented as he pulled out a compartment filled with weapons to hunt vampires. Raising her eyebrow at the statement Tony ignored him, the less she said the better it was for all of them.
"Sam and Dean Winchester. I can't believe it; you know I met your old man once, hell of a guy, great hunter… I heard he passed, I'm sorry. It's big shoes, but from what I hear you guys fill 'em. Great trackers, good in a tight spot." Gordon said to the two brothers. Tony was aware he was ignoring her but she was fine with it. When did her ever talk so much? And not mean any word he uttered? Tony thought unimpressed.
She stood between the two but it was Sam who she leaned in closer to, trying to steal some of his calm he was radiating, he leaned in but stopped just as their arms brushed. She glimpsed at him from her peripherals and she suppressed a smile, he was becoming so used to her little touches that he was starting to depend and reciprocate them, it would only be a matter of time before he would see, only a matter of time.
"You seem to know a lot about our family." Dean commented, slightly unnerved by the prospect.
"Well word travels fast, you know how hunters talk." Gordon supplied smirking.
"No, we don't actually." Dean said glancing at the two before moving his attention back to Gordon.
"Guess there's a lot your dad never told you huh?" Gordon commented, studying the brothers.
"Guess yo' mama never taught you to shut yo' mouth." Tony mustered under her breath.
Gordon's eyes twitched to her and he glared as he took a menacing step forward, "What did you just say to me?"
"Yeah you heard me, or are you so full of shit you can't hear anything through that ass head of yours?" Tony quipped back, yeah that made total sense, Tony thought fumingly.
"You ungrateful bitch." Gordon bite out as he took another step towards her. The two brothers pushed her back slightly as Sam brought the conversation back to where it should have went, suddenly trying to ignore the sudden urge to pound Gordon's face in.
"So those two vampires, they were yours huh?"
"Yup, been here two weeks." Gordon said ignoring the whole violent tension radiating from Tony.
"You checked out that farm?" Dean asked still weary of Gordon.
"It's a bust, just a bunch of hippie freaks. Though they could kill you with that shit smell alone."
"So where's the nest then?" Dean asked, curiously.
Gordon smirked, god how Tony hated that smirk, it not only was arrogant but it was filthy and pathetic. She watched as he pushed the weaponry back into his car, "I got this one covered, look don't get me wrong, it's a real pleasure meeting you fellas, but I've been on this thing for over a year. I killed a fang back in Austin tracked the nest all away up here. I'll finish it."
"We could help." Dean offered just as Tony scowled and began shaking her head.
"Thanks but I'm kind of a go it alone type of guy, now anyways." Gordon said before his eyes flickered to Tony. She stared back refusing to break the staring contest.
"C'mon man, I've been itching for a hunt." Dean supplied shrugging slightly.
"Sorry, but hey, I hear there's a Chupacabra two states over. Go ahead and knock yourselves out." Gordon replied getting into his car and starting it before looking back at the trio. "It was real nice meeting you two. I'll buy you a drink on the flip side. See you around Holloway."
Swearing under her breath, Tony watched him drive away before turning to the two brothers. They stared back at her and her shoulders slumped in defeat. "I met Gordon when I was fourteen. I was walking down a street going home from soccer practice one night and I thought it was a dog. A huge ass dog that was trying to rip me apart and he came and killed it-" Tony shrugged glancing at the two, noticing they were still with her she continued, "It wasn't though. It was a werewolf and at that moment I pledged myself to him so he could train me. Make me a hunter."
"So what changed?" Sam asked quietly.
"The circumstances," She shrugged before continuing, " It was six years ago since I last saw him, and I was with him until I was eighteen. We went on separate hunts one night and I finished mine up early. I met up with him when he was still working his; all he had to do was exorcise a ten-year-old girl, but she muttered something about his missing cousin and he kept her going all night. When she said something to me, he went off. He beat her to a pulp and then he finished the exorcism, he knew he was going to kill the girl. I think that was his plan all along." Tony finished quietly looking between the two; both had a quiet intensity radiating from their eyes as hers filled with unshed tears.
"I could have saved her, if only I stepped in front of the girl, her mom would have her back. But I was young and stupid and thought he could do no wrong. I still dream about her, I still see her in every little girl I see to this day. Her name was Mary-Alice." Tony offered up quietly as she pushed away from the brothers making her way to the Impala.
That Chupacabra was sounding more and more like a gift at this point as she leaned against the car waiting for them to make their way to her. Wiping away any offending tears on her cheeks, she couldn't help notice the fact that she was burning up and her nose was running to hell.
Tony opened the passenger door and slide in the middle part, shivering as Dean got in beside her and turned on the heat. Sam glimpsed at her before he took his seat, glancing at her worriedly he shared a quick look with Dean and scowled at the road. She moved around trying to get comfortable between the two before slumping back, tiredly and sneezing every few minutes.
"We get a motel and then you rest. You still look like shit from that damn food poisoning you got and now walking around in this shit weather, it was bound to happen. Sammy and I will take care of this hunt." Dean told the slumped sniffling Tony.
"Why?" She sneezed before continuing, "I want- " sneeze, "-to help." Tony tried to sound convinced, truth be told, she wasn't feeling well, after seeing Gordon, worrying about Sam and their situation not excluding the fact that she told a very private memory to Sam and Dean. And truth be told she was still recuperating from a bad case of Chinese food that shot her immune system to hell and it would seem she just caught a cold. Not only was this by far her worst day in a while, she was drained and ready to pass out.
"You sound real convincing." Sam said smirking as he took in Tony's tired form. He looked up and met Dean's eyes before nodding. It was best she stay out of this one, her past with Gordon was something they didn't want to shadow the hunt with.
0000000000000000
Blinking away any offending traces of sleep, Tony yawned and curled back in the motel's bed. Sam and Dean had left to go track down a vampire and a few hours later, Sam was the only one that showed up. He didn't look too pleased, too preoccupied with his thoughts to be of any company. He did however get her some medicine; which had knocked her out and during that time she was sure Sam had phoned Ellen.
Sighing Tony sat up and glanced at Sam who was on the other bed flicking away the channels on the television. God, what she'd do for a warm bath, hot soup, a bar of chocolate and a pint of ice cream right about now. Shaking away the luxurious thoughts, Tony, leaned against the headboard and watched the TV silently.
"Hey Tony, you ever wonder if the things we fight could be the good guys?" Sam asked uncertainly as he stared ahead refusing to meet her unnerving gaze.
"Uh, I never really gave it thought. I mean, sure why not right?" Shrugging to herself Tony continued, "Look at Gordon. Probably worse than any vampire he killed could be, and that's saying a lot. Why the indecision Sam?"
"It's just the way I saw Gordon and Dean hunt earlier today, it—" Sam exhaled as his eyes flickered to Tony's face as she moved to sit facing him.
"I'm glad I left him when I did, but working with Gordon…he's so conniving and manipulative to get what he wants but its up to the person to think for their self. And I have no doubt Dean will once again find his way back Sam."
"What?"
"Look, Dean is off and I know you can feel it. But you have to let him go, he'll come back. He's like a…child on their first day of school. Try not to worry too much anyway." She explained as eloquently as she could, although spending too much time with Dean had really stunted her vocabulary somewhat.
Sam nodded as he focused his attention back to the television as Tony got up and slowly made her way to the bathroom.
Sighing as she flushed the toilet Tony thought she heard the door close, making her way to the sink she turned on the tap and let the hot water steam slightly. Reflecting on the past couple of hours and weeks she had been with the Winchesters Tony smiled when she heard the door creak open lightly and some boots shuffling.
Thinking of the youngest Winchester Tony grinned and dried her hands, her thought process died midway through however when she heard the door open and slam shut. If that was Sam, then who had dragged their feet in before that?
Swearing under her breath and forgetting her screaming instincts Tony walked towards the door slowly, inching closer and closer when she heard a thump and someone hitting the carpeted floor. Just as her hand grasped the cold metal doorknob, someone kicked it open flinging her wrist on the opposing wall. Ignoring the white flashing pain, Tony barely uttered a curse as she saw an older man with a trucker's hat move towards her before being drowned in darkness.
0000000000000000
Suppressing a groan and a few colorful words she picked up from Dean; Tony tried to think about what hurt most. Her hands being tightly bound, her bruised wrist, her jaw, her head, her back, her neck or the fact that she was gagged; probably by some dirty handkerchief. Suppressing a gag Tony tried to take in her surroundings before the realization suck in that there was a black cotton bag over her head.
Straining her ears to hear of any signs of movement, she faintly heard someone groaning and someone else walking up to her. Realizing that the groan belonged to Sam, Tony turned her head slightly to catch more of his sounds; slightly calming herself down.
The kidnapper must have realized both were conscious as someone ripped the bag from her head, blinking away the blurs, Tony made out the same mustached man that attacked her from before, ignoring him, she whipped her head to find Sam.
They made eye contact and she took in his face. She saw the worry ebb slightly when he saw her. They stared back at each other trying to take in every small detail before she broke his steady stare. Trying to smirk slightly and biting down hard on the cotton; she got a glimpse of her surroundings as she tried to remember every detail. Thank god for photographic memory.
Bringing her attention back to the offender at hand, Tony looked him up and down with a slight scowl on her eyebrows. She hated being beaten but not as much as the fact of being knocked out and waking up somewhere else. She would have to make a mental note to remind herself to snap his wrist like he did hers.
He walked up to the tied duo and glared at them before opening his mind baring his teeth. Raising her eyebrow slightly she waited to see what would happen next. What she was not expecting was fangs slowly descending in front of his human pair as he leaned in towards her face.
"--uck --ee." Tony said before biting harder on the gag. Fuck me, how could he be a good guy? Seeing Sam fight hard against the bind out of her peripherals, Tony wanted to reach out to him before she realized she was in the same predicament.
"Wait, step back from her Eli." The voice stopping him inches away from her face. He moved back and stared at the doorway leading to a kitchen area.
Both hunters whipped their heads to a doorway trying to find the speaker. Resting their eyes upon a young woman with rich dark hair and a serene face Tony felt confusion bubble within her. Glimpsing at Sam, she realized he felt the same way; expect he oddly looked, at peace. Realizing the whole predicament was what Sam had questioned back at the motel, Tony realized they were on the good team. Besides the fact that I'm was bruised, sore and bound, Tony thought trying to ignore the fighting urge to hit something.
As he leaned back, the man named Eli slowly let his fangs recede back into his gums before the woman walked up in front of the two hunters. She looked them over before she ripped their gags off and stood back.
"My name is Lenore, I'm not going to hurt you; we just need to talk."
Keeping her attention on Eli as Sam stared at Lenore, Tony let Sam have the first word. He is always the eloquent, ambassador one, she mused.
"Talk okay. But I might have a hard time paying attention to much besides Eli's teeth." Sam sputtered out glancing between the two. So much for eloquence.
"He won't hurt either of you, you have my word." She calmly said. How can she be calm when she had two hunters tied to a chair?
"You're word? Oh, great awesome. Listen, Lenore, thanks but you're not the first vampire I've met." Tony spat out glancing at Lenore before staring back at Eli.
"We're not like the others. We don't kill humans and we don't drink their blood. We haven't for a long time." She explained.
"What is this, some kind of joke?" Sam asked un-amused.
"Notice you two are still alive."
Tony and Sam exchanged a glance before she gazed back at Eli trying to soften her head gaze, it was true, they could have easily been killed but somehow they were different.
"I'm sorry, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't you be starving to death?" Tony asked trying to lighten her voice as Sam scoffed at the two vampires.
"We found other ways," Lenore said glancing at Eli before back to the two, "cattle blood."
"You're telling us, that you are responsible for all of the—" Sam asked slightly disgusted.
"It's not ideal, in fact it's disgusting. But it allows us to get by" Lenore said interrupting him.
"Okay, why?" Sam asked, letting his annoyance seep out of him.
"Survival. No deaths, no missing locals, no reason for people like you to come looking for people like us," Lenore explained as she began pacing, "we blend in. Our kind is practically extinct, turns out we aren't that high up the food chain as we imagined."
"Why are we explaining ourselves to them? They're the killers." Eli asked who up to that point had remained stoic and glaring every so often at the hunters.
"Eli."
"We choke on cows blood so that none of them suffer. Tonight they murdered Conrad and they celebrated." Eli said glaring openly at Sam.
"Eli, that's enough." Lenore threatened lightly.
"Yeah Eli that's enou—" Sam said mockingly before Lenore cut him off.
"What's done is done." Lenore whispered as Tony slightly glared at Sam. Of course he had every right to act the way he did, her wrist probably was going to have a permanent crick in it and all she wanted was to hit someone's face in, but was it really smart to try and piss him off when they were the ones bruised and bound to a chair?
"We're leaving this town tonight." Lenore said softly staring back at Sam.
"Then why did you bring us here? Why are you even talking to us?" Tony asked trying to understand their present predicament.
"Believe me, I'd rather not, but I know your kind. And once you find the scent you keep tracking us. It doesn't matter where we go, hunters will find us."
Looking Lenore in the eyes Tony felt a pang of sympathy wash over her before she shook it off, "So you're asking us not to follow you."
"We have a right to live, we're not hurting anyone."
"Right, so you keep saying, but give us one good reason why we should believe you." Sam said.
Lenore smirked faintly as she leaned towards him and Tony struggled slightly still nervous around the so-called "good" vampire.
"Fine," Lenore whispered inches away from Sam's face, "you know what I I'm going to do? I'm going to let you go. Both of you."
Tony and Sam shared a look before Tony glanced at Eli and Lenore. Let them go? Then what the fuck is up with the bound and beating part?
"Take them back. Not a mark on them" Lenore whispered moving away from Sam.
Snorting Tony glared at Eli before ignoring the latter statement, she still was unsure of this new kind of vampire and she sure as hell was not going to tell them that her wrist was probably broken; Eli could bite my finger off, Tony thought suppressing a shudder.
The two were gagged and the black cotton material was pulled over the two hunter's head before someone each pulled on their arms tugging them along.
Trying not to stumble overly much Tony felt her self get slightly annoyed, but she couldn't blame Lenore or any of her kind. She suddenly felt like a monster while they were the angels.
Hearing a door open as both were pushed into seats, Tony scooted closer to Sam, moving her thigh to rest against his; Sam leaned in slightly trying not to draw attention as he felt himself faintly relax. Even though she couldn't see him, she could touch him and that was all it took to comfort her.
0000000000000000
Tony stared at the red van as it drove off; sighing under her breath she looked to her side where Sam stood gazing at the van also. She didn't know what to do but she knew that Dean was probably waiting for them. Making a mental inventory on her body, her main concern was her runny nose and her pained, swollen wrist. Making sure her sweatshirt covered her wrist; Tony made a note to sneak some extra strength pain medication when no one was looking. She knew she didn't have to sneak but she didn't want any of them to be concerned over her.
"You going to be okay?" Sam asked quietly finally gazing down at her.
Nodding Tony looked up and tried to smirk before it faltered, "I am considering, I should ask you the same."
He cupped her face with his right hand and let his thumb graze over her cheek; holding it in place he finally responded, "I am now. Tony, when I saw Eli walk to the bathroom before I got knocked out, I was…worried. I—"
Tony's eyes softened as she heard his voice crack, nodding Tony bent her head to rest her forehead against his as she took a shuddering breathe in.
" I feel like I've been wrong this whole time. That maybe, we are the real bad guys." Tony whispered looking into his eyes as she pulled back.
Sam nodded, "I know what you mean, but we are nothing like Gordon, Tony. We will never be. We have too much humanity to ever be like that."
She smiled up at him and leaned up, without thinking she went to kiss his cheek; like she sometimes would. But this time something was off, his gaze fired with intensity when he gazed at her, with some unreadable emotion Tony had never seen before flickering on his face every so often.
Just as her lips were inches from his cheek he moved his head and caught her lips with his own. Making a soft noise of surprise Tony ended the kiss pulling back in shock. Staring up at him she tried to configure what was going on with him enough for him to play games with her. After it was him who said that he wasn't ready, accepting the fact that the kiss was just that of adrenaline, Tony walked past him to their hotel room.
Slightly fuming she couldn't help but think back to that kiss, one second Sam was sweet as can be and the next he'd be ignoring her. He knew how she felt, she made it very clear, but how could he play games with her when she couldn't handle.
Opening the door Tony walked in and stopped in shock, as Sam followed behind her quietly shutting the door before glancing at Tony and stopping in shock as he took in the sight before them.
Dean was sitting at the small table with Gordon and a map. Gordon was in their motel room. Glaring at both Dean and Gordon; Tony crossed her arms, ignoring the pain shooting up from her wrist as she waited for a response. A logical response as to why Dean actually liked Gordon. She definitely had to have a talk; a big talk with Dean after this was taken care of.
"Sammy, Tony! Where were you two?" Dean asked as he gazed at the two, noticing they looked slightly nervous and a little shaken, he tried to ignore the urge to ask if they were okay, normally he would but not with Gordon sitting opposite him.
"Mind if I talk to you alone?" Sam asked Dean, noticing that Sam had said I and not we, Tony felt something in her crush a little, he was the one that kissed her, he knew her past with Gordon and he also knew she was there with him and the vampires. Why had he not invited her? Was he really going to be this callous?
"Uh, sure," Dean said before looking to Gordon, "Mind if I take off for a few minutes?"
Gordon nodded and smirked up at Sam as the two brothers walked outside. Passing Tony, Dean saw her eyes water slightly before she blinked away any traces of hurt or emotion from her eyes and looked past him to scowl at Gordon. Sighing, he shut the door behind him and got ready to talk with Sam.
0000000000000000
"So, what were you two doing? You and angst boy." Gordon asked mockingly.
Tony had hoped if she didn't make a move, Gordon wouldn't detect her and try to converse with her. She really was in no mood to try and be civilized. It hurt too much to think about anything else but frowning and drowning in the awkward silence.
Tony glared at him before ignoring him and staring at the wall behind him.
"Why do you do what you do?" Tony whispered before moving to sit in front of him.
"What? You know, the same reason you do what you do." Gordon replied as he leaned back seriously, studying her.
"Don't give me that Walker, I did it because I refused to be ignorant and blind and live a life that was not meant for me. Too stubborn to be part of that paradigm, and you did it because of your sister. But answer my question."
"So I can control my own. There is no grey with what we do Holloway, there never was, but the moment you got shit confused—"
"I never once got things confused. I know where I stand Gordon. It's me versus them. I hunt alone." Tony replied making sure to stress the alone part, still hurt and confused by what Sam did.
"What about the Winches—" Gordon asked before being cut off.
"C'mon, Gordon. I left you, and I'll leave them. It's what I'm good at," Tony explained truthfully. She had to admit, she hated Gordon but they had a history and an understanding of some things that it was easier to talk to him than Ellen or anyone sometimes. "I mean, look at my father. Left him long ago."
"But you sent money to him every so often, you never let him go Holloway, you just told yourself you did. You still blame him for what happened." Gordon commented.
"…What?" Tony stammered trying not to feel scrutinized.
"Don't try to do that with me Tony, I know you. More than they will ever know. I know the real reason, what was it again? Oh right, he hit you." Gordon asked trying to bring out the truth for her to finally accept. He disliked her and even though they had a history together, he couldn't help himself slightly enjoy her discomfort, just as much as he knew she would like to shoot him.
"Fuck you. He never touched me. He never did anything and that is what was wrong. He stood by as he let her beat me everyday. My supposed mother, I never regretted what I did when I was fourteen. He never understood why I had to leave and how could I tell him? That I was tired of being beaten so I pushed her down stairs? That I refused to be anything like them? That the police were looking for me? That I left, as he got sick with cancer? I fucking left that life the day I got attacked from that werewolf. That was a fucking blessing. And I would do it again." Tony slammed her uninjured hand on the table as she finished in a near growl.
He nodded and leaned in smirking faintly, "And that is why I do what I do."
Blinking back rage Tony waited trying to uncurl her tightening fist.
"That hate that you feel, that black void? I accepted mine long ago; I used it instead of it using me. Look at you, still running from all of that, from everything human. Form the hurt and confusion and guilt. You killed for yourself, as I did. As most of us do. You are no better than me, Tony McBride Holloway. You are no better."
Getting up Tony let the chair crash to the floor before she placed her hands on the table and leaned in front of his face, "You are wrong there Walker. And you want to know why? Because I am struggling and isn't that human after all? To struggle? You accepted it you say and look at you. Nothing more than a worthless pawn trying so hard not to let the darkness swallow you."
He stood up as the chair joined hers on the floor before they stood there glaring and hating what they saw before them. Each hating the other for the reasons they were too afraid to admit, that they would become what they saw before their eyes.
Nodding slightly at her he grabbed his coat and quietly left, just as she bent her heads down and let the tears fall from her eyes. She knew Gordon was manipulative but made her drudge up her past and then make her realize against her own will that she was just like him?
She let out a soft cry as she let the shuddered sobs over take her. She stood there for a while an as she heard the brothers outside approaching she stood taller and wiped away any traces of hurt.
"Where's Gordon?" Dean asked as he took in the sight of Tony's straightened back.
"He left." She said quietly.
"Where? You let him go Tony?" Sam asked harshly before regretting his tone.
He knew he shouldn't have kissed her, he knew he was sending hot and cold messages to her and he also knew he had acted like a rather large ass to her as of late. But with Dean and the hunt and what Ellen had told him, he couldn't help but be snarky. But she didn't deserve that; she didn't even deserve him. He'd have to make it up to her.
Realizing that he was ready to move on, that he had finally gotten over all of the tragedy in his life as of late and was ready to start to feel again. It took him long nights to come to that conclusion, that even though he mourned for Jessica, he moved on. He was no longer depressed about her gone, he was happy with the remembrance of her. And he wanted to create memories with Tony, not regret things he should have done.
"You fucking think I can control him? Fuck you Samuel Winchester." Tony said turning herself to face the brothers, she knew they noticed she had been crying as she saw both sets of eyes bulge slightly but she didn't care. She was planning on leaving them soon anyway.
"Tony, I—" Sam said, worry and guilt seeping out of his voice.
Cutting him off by raising her hand, Tony said, "He probably heard you guys, you sure as hell weren't quiet. I think he went to the nest."
Dean went to get the keys before stopping, "Son of a bitch snaked my keys."
Normally Tony would have smirked but at this point this day was so bad, she wouldn't be surprised if her arm was torn off and she was beaten with it.
Nodding slightly determined, Dean pushed Sam out the door before walking out behind him, Tony sighed as she followed and shut the door behind her. They all piled into the Impala as Tony leaned back in the backseat and closed her eyes counting just like she did when they were bringing her back to the hotel.
Ignoring every sound, including Dean and Sam, Tony tried not to contemplate shooting Gordon between the eyes. But if she did that, would she be no better than him?
0000000000000000
Stopping to the sight in front of her, Tony let out a soundless growl as she saw Gordon sitting in front of Lenore cutting her open with a jar of dead man's blood. Trying not to look at Lenore and knowing if she did she would kill Gordon, she let all of the hate she felt over the years at everything she didn't understand pour into her pores and almost blind her when she took in the sight of Gordon.
Forgetting all about Dean and Sam as they stood shocked and rooted at the doorway at what was before them, she breathed in deep before waiting for some logical reason for her not to go over to Gordon and rip his throat out.
"Sam, Dean, Holloway, come on in." Gordon said politely.
"Gordon, what's going on?" Dean asked treading carefully.
"Just poisoning Lenore here with some dead man's blood, " Gordon said politely as he stared back at Lenore, "You're going to tell use where all your friend are, aren't ya? Wanna help?" Gordon addressed Dean.
Dean carefully made his way over to Gordon, "Look man-"
"Grab a knife. I was just starting to start in around the fingers." Gordon said as he cut a clean line in Lenore's arm as she was gasping for air. Tony tightened her fist and waited for either Dean to handle the situation or she was just going to end this her way.
"Whoa, hey, let's all just chill out." Dean stammered before looking at Gordon.
Gordon glanced at Dean smirking and nodding, "I'm completely chill."
"Gordon put the knife down." Sam said quietly before Dean pushed the advancing Sam back.
"It sounds like Sammy that needs to chill." Gordon replied smirking.
"Just step away from her alright?" Sam asked quietly.
Gordon stared at him before moving his attention to Lenore before nodding, "You're right, this bitch will never talk, minus well put her out of her misery." Gordon said as he brandished a bowie knife. "I just sharpened it so it's completely humane."
"I'm letting her go, Walker." Tony said finally as she walked towards Lenore just as Gordon brought the knife to her chest, warding her off.
"You're not doing a damn thing." Gordon threatened as they studied each other.
"Hey, hey, hey, let's put the knife Gordon." Sam said reasonably trying as hard as possible not to rip Tony away from him; he knew if she got herself killed now, he would never forgive himself.
"Gordon, let's talk about this." Dean said as he walked closer around the table to Lenore.
"What's there to talk about? Its like I said Dean, no shades of grey." Gordon said as he still held the knife towards Tony.
"Yeah, I hear ya and I know how you feel." Dean said slowly.
"Do you? "
"The vampire that killed your sister deserved to die bu—"
Chuckling slightly Gordon ignored Tony and stared at Dean, "Killed my sister? That filthy fang fucker didn't kill my sister, it turned her; made her one of them, so I hunted her down and I killed her myself."
"You did what?" Sam asked refusing to believe what he had just heard, still staring at Tony he could tell Dean was just as shocked by his slight intake of air.
Looking around at the three hunters Gordon continued, "It wasn't my sister anymore, it wasn't even human. I didn't blink and neither would Dean."
"So you knew all along then, you knew the vampires, you knew they weren't killing anyone. You knew about the cattle and you just didn't care." Sam said disbelievingly.
"Care about what? A nest of vampires suddenly acting nice, taking a little time out from sucking innocent people and were supposed to buy that? Trust me," Gordon said slowly turning away and facing Lenore again, "they can't change what they are. And I can prove that." Gordon finished as he lunged in and grabbed Tony by her bad wrist as she let out a slight shout from the pain.
Trying to struggle against it but causing more pain, Tony relented a little as he pulled up her sleeve to her elbow, now getting the chance to really see it, she realized it was probably just cracked, swollen and slowly turning an odd shade of purple; and Gordon saw her nurse it the whole time. He knew and that was probably why he had grabbed that hand at the wrist, to make sure she wouldn't fight.
Sam stared in shock and horror, as he was about to rip Tony out of Gordon's filthy hands when Gordon held the knife up warding the advancing Dean and Sam off. They both shared a look and quickly glanced at her wrist before staring at Gordon, Tony and the seated Lenore.
Gordon pulled harder on her arm and quickly cut her forearm, Dean and Sam both cocked their guns towards Gordon as he extended her arm over Lenore's head.
"Let her go." Sam quietly threatened.
"Drop the knife Gordon. Now!" Dean shouted.
Staring at her cut Tony tried to pull herself out of Gordon's grasp as he pulled harder, she knew what he was trying to do and a part of her wasn't worried. The other part realized a hungry vampire was sitting below her outstretched arm and knowing Gordon, he would kill Lenore only after she was bitten.
"Relax, if I wanted to kill her, she'd have been dead at the motel. Just making a little point." Gordon explained as he studied Tony.
Lenore gasped, and looked up at Tony's arm gasping for air and opening her mouth slightly trying to catch the droplets that would soon cascade. Gordon squeezed her cut trying to pulse out the blood just as a few droplets fell on Lenore's cheek.
She gasped and let her fangs slowly push their way out; growling seconds later Lenore stared hungrily at the meat above her.
"Hey!" Dean shouted down to Lenore trying to get her attention away from Tony just as Tony stared pleadingly at Sam. Even though she was trying to be mad at Sam, she knew he would come to save her, eventually.
"You think she's so different? Still want to save her? Look at her." Gordon addressed the three before glancing down at the quivering with bloodlust vampire.
Dean and Sam both looked down and grimaced as Lenore kept hissing at the arm dangled above her, Tony glanced down quickly and regretted it, she would rather be bitten then endure this long agony of waiting and staring at the face of a hungry vampire.
"They're all the same, evil, bloodthirsty." Gordon continued just as Lenore let her fangs recede back and stared at the arm, pain from her wounds once again reminding her.
Tony glanced back down at the same time as the rest and she sighed, she knew Lenore wouldn't bite her, even though there were a few tense moments.
"No. No." Lenore groaned looking away from everything and closing her eyes.
"You hear that Gordon?" Tony let Lenore be heard once again before continuing, "We've all killed innocence and what scares you more? That maybe your sister could have become something like Lenore. That maybe you were the one that killed her after all."
Gordon squeezed her arm just as Tony pushed herself away and slowly moved towards the waiting Sam. He grabbed her by the waist and pushed her slightly behind him.
"We're done here." Sam said quietly as Gordon slowly backed away from Lenore.
"Sam, get them out of here." Dean instructed still pointing his gun at Gordon.
"Yeah, let's go." Sam said as he and Tony moved towards Lenore. Sam lifted her up just as Gordon walked closer trying to take Lenore away.
"Uh-huh, not so fast Sparky. I think you and I got some things to talk about." Dean said as he waved his gun lightly.
Hearing that comment, Tony tried to smirk but it falling flat on her face, Tony watched as Sam placed Lenore in the back seat of the Impala as he got into the drivers seat. Sighing again, she followed suit and took her place in the passenger's seat.

Waking up with a grunt, Tony looked around at the sunrise as she realized Sam had dropped Lenore off to Eli and they were heading back to pick up Dean. Noticing she was awake Sam glanced over at her, taking in her slight pale sheen covering her skin and her wrist a now blue hue to it.
"How long till we get back?" Tony asked staring at the window trying to shake off any drowsiness she was feeling.
"We're almost there," Sam said quietly before adding, "Tony, I'm sorry."
Moving her attention from the window Tony studied Sam as he scowled at the road, "Why?" She knew why, hell, he knew why, but that didn't stop her from wanting to hear his point of it.
"Its just that, I told you I wasn't ready. And I knew how you felt towards me and I treated you like shit. One minute I was leading you on, the next I was acting like Dean," Sam said noticing her smirk before continuing, "I mean, when we were kidnapped, the whole time I was thinking about you. If you're okay, if you were hurt, any of that. The moment I heard you groan, I felt better knowing you were beside me. That whole situation finally made me see that I think I want to be with you. That…" Sam sighed as he tightened his hold on the steering wheel.
Tony focused her attention on the window again, trying to remain calm; she finally had wanted this moment and wanted to pounce him she was so happy. All the hurt and doubt vanished as she felt Sam's sincerity ebb into her, trying to play if off like Dean, she replied "Longest chick flick moment if I ever saw one."
Sam stopped the car abruptly and glared at her, "What the hell is wrong with you, you're just like Dea—"
Giggling lightly Tony leaned in and stole a quick kiss from the scowling Sam, realizing her jest, he mumbled about not believing her and a tiny kiss couldn't do anything. Laughing as she threw herself at him like a damsel in distress in movies Tony frequently watched on the cable in the motel rooms, he felt himself relax.
He bent down and wrapped one arm under her back supporting her as she placed both hands on either side of his face taking him in. He tasted of honeysuckle and honeydew misting from the morning air, just as she was leaning towards him, he deepened the kiss.
Pulling back in shock, "What the hell are you doing?" Tony asked bewildered.
"What do you mean, what am I doing? I'm trying to kiss you." Sam reasoned trying not to roll his eyes.
"With your tongue?" Tongue exclaimed not understanding why something like that would be a good thing.
Sam blinked at her a few minutes before asking quietly, "Tony, are you a…um, is this your first time kissing someone?"
Tony blinked away confusion trying to think in such close proximity to Sam, "No, I mean, Ash kissed me once, strictly closed mouth, it was a stupid dare Jo played. Oh and there was this guy once, when I was hunting with Gordon, he smelled of rotting feet though and I was trying not to gag, moving away from him was second on my list. Damn bastard stole a kiss from me. It was pretty nasty. " She shrugged not knowing where this was going. Why did he care who she kissed?
"Are you a virgin?" Sam asked suddenly, still unaware that they were parked in the middle of an abandoned road. He was shocked, how someone like her could go so far in life still completely naïve. It was refreshing and it beat the fact that she could have been worse; she could have been a female Dean.
"What? How could you ask me that?" Tony asked before letting the pieces fall, so she was a little under skilled. Whatever, she could learn. "So, what if I am?"
Noticing her challenge, Sam sighed as a soft smile played on his lips, "I can teach you."
Refusing to blush, Tony deftly nodded before a sudden thought came bursting through her mind, "Dean!"
Sam frowned, suddenly unhappy with where her thought had traveled to, "What? You're thinking of Dean?"
Tony slapped her forehead lightly before rolling her eyes, slowly getting off of Sam she took her spot back in her seat, "No Sam. Dean is probably kicking Gordon's ass. And I definitely deserve a piece of that action."
Sam smiled as he started the Impala again and drove the rest of the way in comfortable silence.

Sam smiled at Tony as she grabbed is hand pulling him along as she made her way up the creaky porch to see what Dean had done to Gordon. She secretly hoped he got the beating of his life and she knew Dean wouldn't disappoint.
Walking through the door, Tony tried to pull her hand out of Sam's just as he tightened his, trying not to smile Tony took in the sight in front of her and Sam. Gordon, bruised, bound and sitting stoically in a chair as he glared up at the two, Dean's eyes flickered to their hands before walking up the two.
"We miss anything?" Sam asked Dean as he let go of Tony's hand to roll up his sleeves.
"Ah, nothing much." Dean shrugged before glancing at Gordon. Tony glanced between Dean and Gordon, scoffing as she took in Dean's slightly bruised and busted lip appearance. "Lenore get out okay?"
"Yeah, all of them did." Tony said pointedly at the bound hunter; as he glared up at her.
"Then I guess our work here is done." Dean commented. "How you doing Gordie? You gotta tinkle yet?"
Studying Gordon, Tony knew one day that he would find them and give Dean a can of whoop ass, she would be ready but she wasn't doubtful. His face spoke volumes of hate for the trio, he either stared at the wall behind them or glared at each of them.
"Alright, well, get comfy, we'll call someone in two or three days have them come out and untie you." Dean said as he stabbed Gordon's hunting knife into the table.
"Ready to go Dean?" Tony asked softly.
"Not yet." Both brothers replied in crescendo, before Tony rolled her eyes, looking around for a place to lean, she knew this would take a few minutes.
Dean walked up to the glaring Gordon, "I guess this is good-bye, well, it's been real." Dean finished as he punched Gordon to the floor taking the chair with him.
Sam grimaced as Tony tried to hold back a flinch, she knew he deserved this but she swore she heard something coming from Gordon's face crack. Sam glanced at Tony and smiled as she walked into his waiting arm, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into him as Dean turned to the duo.
"Okay, I'm good now. We can go."
Following Dean out the door, Tony and Sam followed Dean to the car and stopped as they realized Dean was still waiting by the stairs. Sam went to him first before Tony rolled her eyes and followed suit as she rolled her sleeve up her injured arm to let her wrist and her new cut breathe.
"Sam, clock me one." Dean asked getting ready to take the hit. Tony rolled her eyes but studied the two.
"What?" Sam asked as he stared incomprehensive and slightly amused at Dean.
"C'mon, I won't even hit you back, let's go." Dean said.
Sam scoffed, "No."
"Let's go, you get a freebie, hit me c'mon."
"Shorty, you look like you just went twelve rounds with a cement block, I'm sure as hell that Sam won't hit you." Tony scoffed as she took in Dean's appearance. Sam smiled at her before grinning at Dean.
"I'll take a rain check." Sam said as he moved away from Dean to walk back to the Impala.
"Can the rain check be moved to a different account? Could that be validated?" Tony asked Dean as she walked along with him to follow Sam; calling out to his leaning figure, trying to suppress a smirk, "Sam, instead of a chocolate bar you owe me, can I get a free pu—"
"Shut up Tony." Dean muttered before poking her side. Tony stopped and moved slowly towards Dean as he backed up slightly amused.
"What did you just do?" Tony growled out menacingly.
"Um, I'm pretty sure I just poked you. Like how I'm sure Sam is going to poke yo—ow!" Dean exclaimed moving away from Tony as she smacked him on the upside of his head. Sam laughed as she chased Dean around and they began slapping each other's hands away from their faces.
Rolling his eyes at the catfight before him, Sam coughed and pointed at his watch.
"Watch it Nancy, I can still kick your ass." Dean grumbled as he made his way to the drivers seat.
"Yeah, Shorty can still kick Giant's ass." Tony mocked as she got in the back seat.
"Wish we never took this hunt, fucked everything up." Dean said as he started the Impala and with a roar they drove down the unpaved road; Sam and Tony both looked to Dean.
"What do you mean?" Sam asked.
"Think about all the hunts we went on Sammy, our whole lives, what if we killed things that didn't deserve killing?" Dean questioned. "You know, the way dad raised us—"
"Dean, after what happened to mom, Dad did the best he could." Sam said lightly.
"I know he did but the man wasn't perfect. And the way he raised us to hate those things and I hate 'em. I do and when I killed that vampire at the mill, I didn't even think about it, hell, I even enjoyed it."
"You didn't kill Lenore."
"No, but every instinct told me to. I was going to kill her, I was going to kill them all." Dean said unflinchingly. Tony glanced between the two and realized this wasn't her place to step in, they brought up so much history in front of her; she didn't want to ruin the opportunity to get to know a little more about them.
"Dean, but you didn't. And that's what matters." Sam said softly.
"Yeah and you're both a pain in my ass." Dean smirked glancing back between the two.
"Guess I might have to stick around to be a pain in both of your Asses." Sam replied grinning out the window.
"I'm a nice pain though right Dean? Like a tick bite in one of those spots that when you itch it, your eyes roll back into your head in blissful agony? Yeah, I bet I'm like that." Tony thought out loud.
