Bella POV
11:51 pm
When I had awaked, I had a blaring headache, or at least that's what it felt like. I looked around slowly. I was in my bed, in my room. What happened? Slowly, I rose forward and the world started to spin. I lay back down quickly and groaned. Jade was sitting in the rocking chair in the corner of my room. "What happened?" I asked softly. Jade smirked faintly.
"You had a little bit too much to drink and passed out." She said, amused. I groaned as my head throbbed. Note to self; never get drunk again. Wobbly, I started to sit up again, and fortunately the world stayed in one place. I sighed and stood up. I'm probably the first vampire to ever pass out; wonderful. I hope Jess won't start a book on that. With a drawn out sigh, my headache vanished. I walked over to Jade and pulled her into a hug.
"I swear to you that I will never get like that again. I'm sorry that you and Trey had to witness that." I whispered into her golden locks. She chuckled softly and squeezed me back.
"It was actually quite amusing." She murmured. I rolled my eyes and untangled myself from her. My feet were silent as I made my way to the bathroom. I undressed and turned on the hot water, slipping inside. As the hot beads hit my back, I felt the tension and stress leave my body. I noticed that I looked like my normal self again. That's good to know that alcohol wears off my power. My hair was dripping wet as I got the appropriate handful that the bottle suggested and massaged my favorite lavender shampoo and conditioner into my hair. Rinse and repeat, yeah right. I snorted to myself and then felt weird for doing so. I'm talking to myself also, what a dork. I muttered in my head as I hurriedly finished my shower. I dried off quickly and pulled on some pajamas. I leaped gracefully into my giant black bed. It was one of those fancy tempurpedic beds that Victoria convinced me to buy. I sunk into the mattress and closed my eyes, slipping into a daydream or my vivid imagination, if that is an appropriate title for it.
Bella's Daydream in Italics!
A lady with pale skin, long brown hair, dense brown eyes, and a petite figure stood in a murky green forest. The air was chilly and thick. The ground was damp from the earlier rain. The lady looked around her; paranoid. She always hated to be in the woods alone; her boyfriend had disappeared and she was searching for him. In the distance, a wolf cry pierced the air causing the lady to jump. Her heart was pounding in her chest while her breathing was erratic. Just a wolf, she told herself. Not only was she wrong, but there was more than a wolf; there were eight. Large thudding feet were the only silent noise. The lady started to panic. "Jasper!" She screamed. A man with honey blonde hair and profound gold eyes appeared in the setting. He was very muscular, but lean. He stood tall and proud at 6 foot 4 inches. He wrapped his long muscular arm around the lady's tiny waist.
"Calm down, Bella. I'm right here…I'll always be here; unlike my ass of a brother, Edward." He whispered into her hair. The lady, now known as Bella, calmed down instantly. Maybe it was the way he spoke to her with an alluring southern drawl, or his power to affect her emotions. "I love you Isabella Marie Swan." His was husky; low and sweet. A smile crept its way onto Bella's face.
"I love you too." She whispered, her voice shaking with lust. The man pulled her chin up and lowered his head to hers. He was mere inches away from her face; his lips only a few centimeters from hers. Her heart was frantic, and then suddenly everything disappeared.
I jolted from my dream when I felt a hand shaking me. "It's time to get ready for school." Trey smirked. I smiled and got out of bed. He left the room silently. I headed to the closet and pulled out something a bit nicer than what I wore the previous day. Maybe I was trying to impress Jasper just a little bit. I hurriedly did my hair and pictured Dakota; transforming into her. I smiled at myself in the mirror and left the room. Everyone was hanging out in the kitchen, looking outstanding as always. I exchanged a smile with everyone, but noticed Jade wasn't downstairs yet. Just as the thought came to my mind, I heard the clicking of heels coming down the stairs. Naturally, we all turn our heads to look, and we were shocked by what we saw. My mouth dropped open and a protective instinct that I have had for my children since birth came over me. I growled fiercely. She looked like a prostitute as cruel as it was to compare. She had gone through our closets and found clothes that were meant for a club. She had on a hot pink spider cut bikini with short shorts over it, along with way to high of heels. Her hair was curled and put into a pony tail. There was a smile on her face.
"Fuck no." My voice was louder than I intended, but I couldn't believe she had the audacity to try and leave the house in something like that. "Get out of those clothes! You are not wearing that to school young lady! I will not allow you to parade around half fucking naked in front of hormonal boys! You have more respect for yourself than that!"
"But…" She began to plead.
"No-" I cut her off. I know it is childish but I have to. She will not wear that to school!
"But Mom-" She tries again.
"No-" I cut her off once again. She huffed.
"I-" Her voice is pleading, desperate even. It didn't matter, I will not break.
"No-"
"But-"
"No-"
"But-"
"No-"
"But-"
"Go change your outfit. That's final. I don't want to hear another but out of you." I left no room for argument as I stared her down. Jade huffed, but retreated up the stairs instantly. I pinched the bridge of my nose. It helps to clear my mind. Taking a deep breath, I sat at the counter with everyone else. They all had amused expressions from our dispute. I growled lowly and rolled my eyes. Jade came back down the stairs looking lovely; she had on a pink tank with a black pinstripe vest over, dark jeans, and sneakers. I smiled at her with approval. "Thank you. Now, let's get to school." I ushered everyone out of the door. Mandy sped towards to school. I knew if I was human, I'd be claustrophobic in the tight, cramped van. She parked and we all swiftly exited the tight van.
"See you guys at lunch." Mandy said, turning to walk to her first class, leaving all of us to ourselves. A few minutes after Mandy left Tyler, Kaleb, Shelby, Trey, Jess, and Jade departed to go to their classes, leaving Victoria and I waiting in the parking lot still. The flashy red BMW pulled into the parking lot and parked next to our van. The Cullen's got out and exchanged friendly banter with Victoria and I. Jasper soon pulled in on his bike and I felt a surge of emotion flash through me. We exchanged eye contact, but I broke it quickly. Victoria and I parted ways, heading to our classes.
English can be dreadfully boring. We're still doing Romeo and Juliet and I can't believe I'm saying thus, but I'm really sick of it. One can only take so much Shakespeare. Luke kept giving me small smiles and he'd peer my way during the first part of the class. It was starting to become obnoxious. He thought he was being sly, but he clearly wasn't. Mrs. Kale slapped a ruler onto her desk to wake most of the class up.
"Now class, I am assigning you partners for the project. Your assignment is to write a one page essay on the other person. Here are they partners; Heather and Maurice, Kyle and Diana, Suzanne and Jacob, Lois and Peter, George and Judy, Luke and Dakota, Sherpa and Bret, Lucy and Skyler, Brandon and Donna Joann, Tonya and Quilt, and lastly, Michelle and Parker. Are there any questions?" I almost groaned out loud when I heard I was paired with Luke. The loud bell rang and I was the first out of the torture chamber…I mean classroom. The students walked lazily, not caring if they were late or not. I sighed as I sat in second hour; French. Mr. Shafer babbled on in French, not caring who was listening or understood. I sighed and looked out the window.
"Do tell me, Miss. Peyton. Let's have a conversation in French." Mr. Shafer slapped his ruler on his desk just like Mrs. Kale did for the attention of the class. "Comment allez-vous aujourd'hui, Mlle Peyton?" How are you today, Miss. Peyton? Mr. Shafer asked in amusement on how I would answer. Oh stupid teachers, if only they knew.
"Amende. Merci beaucoup. Comment allez-vous, M. Shafer?" Fine. Thank you very much. How are you, Mr. Shafer? I asked back with much fluency. His eyes widened as did most of the class. Most of the class had no clue what was even being said.
"Vous êtes très attrayant, Mlle Peyton. Permettez-moi de vous demander de vous joindre à moi pour le dîner ce soir?" You are very attractive, Miss. Peyton. May I ask you to join me for dinner this evening? My eyes went wide with disgust and alarm, while his filled with lust.
"J'ai bien peur de ne peut pas produire les mêmes sentiments pour vous. Franchement, je suis révolté. J'aimerais vous signaler que vous à l'école pour harcèlement sexuel." I'm afraid I cannot produce the same feelings for you. Frankly, I'm apalled. I should report you to the school for sexual harrassment. I shouted in French, making the entire class jump and Mr. Shafer turn beat red. I crossed my arms over my chest and turned towards the window again. At least he'll leave me alone for the rest of the year. The bell rang and I bolted out of the class as fast as I could without exposing myself. I entered my math class with relief. The teacher lusting for a student idea was freaking me out. The class passed by quickly and it was finally lunch. I avoided the stampede for the awful cafeteria food and headed to the table where my family sat. Victoria was the first to greet me.
"Hey you." She smiled with her teeth bright and dazzling. I smiled faintly back at her.
"I'm disgusted. Mr. Shafer had the nerve to ask me out for dinner." I shrieked in annoyance. The group of people at our table started to laugh, but they stopped once I glared at them. Today is still going to be a long day.
I sighed happily as I left eighth hour. Finally free! Jasper smiled as he saw me approach him by the bike. Mr. Hawes assigned us as partners again for this next week long project. I would be at his shack, every day after school for the rest of this week. I wonder if he could sense how excited that made me. He climbed onto his motorcycle. I got on behind him and wrapped my arms around his torso. I pressed my cheek against his strong back. He sped out of the parking lot. The wind whipped my hair around in the pony tail. I squeezed tighter onto Jasper. I love this feeling. I felt so free. With Jasper I always feel lighter. He is amazing; strong, lean, witty, smart, brave, daring, sweet, romantic, and a dream come true. He pulled up to his cottage and parked the bike. We got off and made our way into the shack. It was clean to say the least. I smirked quietly at Jasper as we sat down. I put my backpack on the floor by the couch and brought my feet to my chest. Jasper sat with an arm lazily tossed over the side, facing me. Jasper finally broke the tension. "We should get started." He murmured, his southern drawl highlighting a few of his words. I nodded curtly in agreement. I pulled out my binder, as did he and we started the round of questions.
Jasper POV! YAY!
Dakota sat with her legs pulled to her chest. She was so beautiful. She was one mysterious creature that frequently left me dumbfounded, but I still felt as if I knew her. Divine. She reminded me so much of Bella; shy yet bold. Thinking of Bella, I remembered how torn apart the family was because of Edward's daft decision to leave her. Esme was devastated, hardly ever smiling. She loved Bella like a daughter. Carlisle took on extra shifts at work and stayed later than usual. Emmett and Rosalie became quieter about their business. Edward was distraught. A month after we had left, I noticed that Alice had been distancing herself from me. I thought it was because she was hurting, but then I walk in on her and Edward right in the middle of a sex fiasco; it was a heartbreaking sight. Normally, husbands would hate their spouse for cheating on them and betraying their trust. Oh, I'm terrifyingly resentful towards her, but I could never hate her or Edward. I don't love her how I used to, no, I'll never love her in the same way, but I want for her to be happy. If she's happy with Edward, then that is what I want for her. I did the same thing to Alice when I cheated on her with Bella. I never intended for it go that far. I was only going back to check on her, but we made love instead. I'm irrevocably in love with a dead girl. I felt a small hand tugging on my arm. I was brought out of my reverie by Dakota.
"Are you listening?" She asked doubtfully. I gave her a smile which she returned.
"Sorry, I was lost in a memory." I murmured. She gave me another smile and boy, did it light up my world. "What were you saying?" Her gold eyes fell to the paper and back up to my face.
"What is your best childhood memory?" She asked again. I pondered in my mind on what to say. My human memories were faint and distant. I only remembered so much about that life. The only thing I could recall from childhood was how often my brother and I would go fishing.
"Fishing with my brother was the best when I was younger." I answered peacefully. "What is your best childhood memory?" I asked, turning the tables and exchanging the hot seat. Her face scrunched up as she thought and it was adorable.
"When I was 7 years old, my mom bought me a stuffed dog. I would carry it around and treat it like a real dog. I'm not positive why it's the best, but maybe it's because I finally had something to love unconditionally, even when it would break. Something that I could pretend loved me back and didn't judge me." I was in awe of this woman. She had a deep passion and created a love from me to her. She gazed down softly before looking up again. "What was your first boyfriend/girlfriends name?" She asked embarrassment in her tone. I couldn't help but to smile at her.
"Maria. She wasn't really a girlfriend, but I didn't date much." I sighed heavily. She tucked a loose strand of red hair behind her ear. "And for you?" I asked curiously.
Bella/Dakota POV
Should I tell him Edward, or somebody else; somebody else indeed. "Jacob." I murmured the first name that came to mind. Jasper nodded. I gazed into his ocher golden orbs and got lost in them. They were so pure and full of life. Slowly, he leaned in and I leaned in to meet him. I felt his marble lips press against mine and my world was on fire.
