Huehuehue. . . I'M BA-ACK!
*dodges miniskirt*
. . . Roy, stop.
So! I have things. Yeah.
Disclaimer: NOT MINE STAHP
Okay, here's the things!
Percy
Roy opened the door.
"Hey Rizo!" she called.
A tall-ish man with ashy blonde hair and dark claret eyes appeared rather suddenly, but I knew he had come from another door. There were lots of doors in this particular room. It was weird.
"Yes, sir?" he asked in a monotone.
"Bring everyone in here," Roy commanded. "Our little ghost brought in a guest."
Wraith rolled his eyes. "You really gonna go with that?"
Roy threw a smirk over her shoulder. "Would you prefer I left off the 'ghost' bit and just called you 'little'?"
Wraith's face turned purple. "WHO ARE YOU CALLING SHORTER THAN ONE OF YOUR FUCKING MINISKIRTS! I'M STILL GROWING, DAMMIT!"
Roy laughed lightly before turning back to Rizo, who had appeared out of nowhere once more. "Well?" she asked.
"They're on their way," Rizo replied immediately.
"Then we wait," Roy said, crossing her arms to conceal a yawn.
A few seconds later, a short girl with glasses and straight black hair entered the room.
"Percy, meet Kate Fuery," Roy said cordially.
Kate smiled shyly. "Nice to meet you," she said, her voice a little high and slightly squeaky.
Soon afterwards, a rather tall, gray-haired woman with a stern face entered. She saluted immediately.
"Veronica Falman reporting in, ma'am," she said formally, her voice not too high or too low.
Roy nodded towards her and said, "At ease."
The next to come in was a rather rotund woman with gingery locks.
"Hey, I'm Hayley Breda," she said with a wave. Her voice was slightly deeper and sort of rough around the edges.
A minute or so later, a tall blonde woman with bright blue eyes appeared, a cigarette clenched between her teeth.
"I'm Jacqueline Havoc," she said, her words surprisingly audible despite the cigarette. "It's a pleasure."
Roy grinned at me. "Percy, meet the team. Team, this is Percy. Wraith brought a friend from his sojourn in hell to come visit us." Suddenly, a frown split Roy's face. He turned to face Wraith. "Mind telling us why you brought him in?"
Wraith shrugged, then grinned. "He has an. . . interesting skill set."
Roy snorted. "Like you?"
Wraith rolled his eyes. "Not quite. It's actually a bit like your skills. You know my work is based in circles, pyro. He doesn't need any. Hell, he doesn't even need to clap!" Wraith nodded towards me. "Go on, show her."
I bit my lip. I wasn't supposed to show my powers to mortals. . . Aw, hell. Screw it. I'd already broken that rule with Wraith. What were a couple more mortals gonna do?
I held out a hand, cupped it, and willed it to be filled with water.
Roy's eyes widened. Then she smirked. "I see. It makes sense now." She turned to Wraith. "Hey, can you separate the oxygen from the hydrogen?"
Wraith shrugged. "Sure." He clapped and placed his hands on my water. I tried to cling to it, but to my shock, it simply disappeared.
"Where did it go?!" I asked frantically. I couldn't find the water I had summoned a few seconds before anywhere!
"Wraith separated the elements making up the compound of water and allowed them to disperse," Roy explained patiently. Then she crossed her arms. "So. . . what's a son of Neptune doing in a mental hospital?"
My eyes widened. "How did you-"
Roy grinned. "Allow me to reintroduce myself. Reyna Mustang, daughter of Mars and legacy of Hephaestus. I have superior skill with battle tactics, and I inherited a little of my great-great-grandfather's skill with flames." She snapped her fingers and flames burst forth, stopping a mere foot from my face. "I'm not a true fire user. I can create it, true, but it can still burn me and I have to snap." She nodded at Rizo.
Rizo sighed. "Rizo Hawkeye, first generation legacy of Apollo. I have incredible aim with both a gun and a bow and arrow."
Jacqueline grinned. "Rizo and I are from the same brood, but my legacy line goes back a bit further, meaning my skill is not as great. I'm fourth or fifth generation. I can still shoot damn straight, though." She laughed.
Hayley chuckled. "Second generation legacy of Mars, so I'm a good tactician. That's pretty much it."
Veronica stood up straight. "Third generation legacy of Athena. I have excellent memory and I am a good tactician."
Kate smiled softly. "Eh, I'm a fourth generation legacy of Hephaestus. My ancestor wasn't a fire user, so I'm only good with machines."
I was shocked. So many legacies in one place! A place with. . . no. . . protection. . .
"Shit," I swore suddenly. "What about monsters?"
Roy chuckled. "I have a border set up here. It's well protected, don't worry. This place is basically just a refuge for legacies that get bored of camp life. If you want, Wraith can show you around a little later, let you meet the other legacies. Watch out for Armstrong, though. She's a bit. . . much for a first time visitor." Roy smiled genuinely. "I must say, it is an honor to have a son of Neptu-" She cut herself off, eyes widening. "Wait. Percy Jackson? The Percy Jackson?"
I winced. I was wondering when this would come up. "Uh, yeah. I was gonna say it was actually Poseidon sooner or later. . ."
Hayley whistled. "Whoa. Not just any demigod, but the demigod." She shot Wraith an appraising look. "Gotta say, kid, you got more luck than I give you credit for."
Wraith rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Bre- Hayley," he said, correcting himself at the last second.
Roy smirked. "Well, I guess the gods will know where you are now."
I blinked. "They didn't know?"
Kate shook her head. "No one did. I heard the camps were going crazy. Lord Poseidon must be really upset."
I frowned. The gods always knew where their children were, they just can't interfere. I thought that was what was going on when no one came to get me out of that stupid facility. . . but they didn't know? That was a different story.
"Hey, Veronica, can you contact everyone?" Rizo asked.
Veronica saluted. "Yes sir." She sped off.
"Is she telling the camps and gods that I've been. . . found?" I asked, still struggling to accept that no one had known where I was.
Roy nodded. Then she slapped her forehead in realization. "Ah, shoot. I forgot about that." She turned to smirk at Wraith. "Evelyn is here, kiddo. So is Avalon."
Wraith started, then scowled. "I don't want to see them again."
Roy sighed. "I know you don't. But how are you gonna avoid it?"
Wraith shrugged. "I'll travel with Percy. Maybe meet some of his friends. Or I'll travel to Olympus and see if they know of any way for me to. . . to get home."
A soft laugh came from Roy's mouth. "Good luck with that, Wraith." Then she turned to me. "Hey, you gonna tell Percy your real name?"
I straightened up to my full height. Right! Wraith wasn't his real name! In all the excitement, I'd completely forgotten. Now, though, I remembered that Wraith was only what he called himself so that the people at the asylum (something was weird around there, now that I thought about it) wouldn't know anything about him. "Yeah, tell me!" I begged, clasping my hands to accentuate my desperation.
Wraith grimaced, then groaned what I took to be an assent.
"It's Edward," he muttered. "Edward Elric. Call me Ed."
I smiled. Then I held out a hand to Wrai- Ed.
"Nice to meet you, Ed," I said happily.
Ed blinked, staring first at my smiling face and then at my outstretched hand. After a long moment, a small, amused grin appeared, and he grasped my hand firmly within his own.
"Nice to meet you, too," he replied.
I grinned before pumping his hand up and down once and releasing it.
Roy smiled before clapping her hands together. "Okay, everyone back to your posts!"
Within seconds, Rizo, Jacqueline, Hayley, and Kate were gone.
Roy turned to another door. "Follow me to the waiting room," she said to Ed and I.
Ed immediately turned to follow her. I did so as well. Then something occurred to me. Ed's hand. . . the first time we'd met, he'd shaken my left hand. This time, he used his right.
It had felt. . . hard. Cold under the glove. Like. . . metal.
I shook my head. That was ridiculous! A metal hand? No way!
Internally chuckling at the stupidity of my assumption, I followed Ed through the door.
End of Chapter 7
Oh, Perce. . . if only you knew how right you were. . .
So! We know who Wraith is! SURPRISE, it's Edward Elric! I think most of you knew that. I HOPE most of you knew that.
Okay, so the genderbending thing. . . I didn't know I would do that when I started this story. I just thought it was fun. Please don't judge me for my genderbending!
