At the hospital, back in Earthrealm, things were working fine as usual. It was a normal working day for the doctors, and the work's pressure was present, but not heavier as some days. A nurse holding a clipboard walks through the aisles, avoiding contact with anyone, however a doctor stops her wondering what is she doing.
"Where are you going?" asked the doctor to the nurse, who wore a surgical mask,
"I'm going to check some patients" she replied in a kind and innocent voice.
The doctor turned around and went back to work. The nurse continued walking, and meanwhile, some guys, who were being treated, took a glimpse on her, she was surprisingly attractive, despite having half of her face covered by the mask. The nurse noticed them looking at her, but she kept moving.
She arrived at the room where she wanted to, it was where Jax and Kitana remained treated. A curtain divided their space, which she couldn't see Jax. She walked closer to Kitana's bed, and looked at her, seeing her fragile state. She then took a clipboard at her bed's end and saw the information about her.
"My, my" she murmured "You sure had an unfortunate fate, remaining unconscious, fragile for so long and at such a young age"
The nurse put the clipboard back to its place
"But what is interesting, is how that pretty face of yours still looks good, even at sleep" she softly laughed
The nurse put her hand in her pocket and began pulling something out.
"The good thing about you being asleep is that, you don't feel anything"
The Nurse pulled out the object from her pocket, revealing it to be a Sai,
"I'm impressed that I perfectly completed this mission, which seemed to be Impossible. I guess I do have my abilities after all"
The nurse took her mask off, showing her big mouth, full of sharped teeth. It was Mileena.
"Aren't you impressed too? Sister?" she got closer to her
Mileena took the Sai and lifted up, aiming at Kitana's heart
"Sweet dreams!" she grinned ready to stab her.
But before her Sai could fall nailing Kitana, her hand detained, actually someone grabbed her hand, preventing her to attack.
"Gotcha" said the person who stopped her, and as Mileena quickly looked to her side, she saw a fist which sank in her face, punching her.
Mileena felt back, and looked up, it was Jax who stopped her.
"I don't know how you found us, but you better crawl back to the hole you came from" he demanded
"You!" growled Mileena "You may have stopped me from killing your friend, but you won't stop Shinnok from conquering your realm" she stood up, and took the Sai.
"You better get out of here, unless you want me make you leave"
"Bossy, hmmm…. You really think that you can convince me? Guess again!"
Suddenly, they noticed that the door was open and a nurse looked to them, she gasped when she saw Mileena, and ran away screaming. Mileena realized that she had to go, unless she wanted more trouble.
"See you in the end of your world" she laughed and quickly jumped out of the window. Jax looked through and she was gone.
Kitana's head began to move. Jax turned around and noticed that she was awakening.
She suddenly woke up gasping, which scared Jax.
"W-w-what happened?" she said still recovering her conscience
"I guess we survived Sindel's attack"
Kitana began looking to the surrounding, unknown of where she was, she asked:
"Where am I?"
"You're at a hospital, but how we got here, no idea"
"Where's everybody? They can't just have left us here!"
"No Idea where they are, but I'm sure that they'll come to us any time, after all we're in danger between these walls"
"How?"
"You were almost killed now, that evil sister of yours came here and tried to assassin you"
"Mileena…" she sighed and frowned
"Yup, but I don't have a clue if she came here in her own will or if someone send her"
"What happened to our clothes?" she says looking to herself, and to Jax odd since they were wearing hospital gowns, and she had no idea what that was.
"They changed us"
"For what?"
"I guess to check us"
"I want them back"
"Relax, I'm pretty sure that they kept them somewhere"
Jax looked around and saw a clipboard at his bed's end. He took it and read while looking around.
"This will surprise you" he said while looking at the paper
"What is it?"
"We've been here for eight months, almost nine"
"Okay, but I'm still worried about everyone else, where did they go?"
"No idea, like I said it before, mayb-"
A wind enters the room blowing strongly, Jax crouched, meanwhile Kitana held tight on her bed.
"What's going on?" he shouted.
Kitana opened her eye and saw in the middle of that blast, a person coming in.
"There's someone here!" she shouted
The blast suddenly stopped and a man, who looked like Raiden, stood in their front.
"Who are you?" Kitana asked.
"I'm Fujin, the wind god" he replied "Raiden told me to keep an eye on both of you to assure that nothing would happen while you two recover".
"Well, you were almost late" said Jax.
"What happened?" the god asked.
"I was almost killed by Mileena, a clone of mine" said Kitana "And if it wasn't for Jax, I'd be dead"
"Quan chi must have sent her here, so that he could assure that Raiden would not have enough allies" thought Fujin "Since you've awaken, it is time to leave this place and bring you both to the thunder god, he'll know what to do".
They heard some people rushing through the corridor heading to their room, Jax quickly told Fujin to hide, and he hid behind the curtains.
"Nice hiding place" thought Jax ironically
A group of nurses and a doctor came in; with the nurse, who saw Mileena, leading them.
"So here I was, going to check them, until I saw that monster with horrid teeth and-"
The nurse was speechless, everything seemed okay, actually they were better, since that they saw that Jax and Kitana were awake, meaning that they've recovered.
"B-b-but it was-"stuttered the nurse
"Are you guys okay?" interrupted the doctor asking to them
"Hmmm yes" answered Jax.
"Are you feeling okay?"
"Yes" answered Kitana.
The doctor nodded, and he and the nurses agreed that they were well enough to leave. But before they left, Kitana asked if she could have her clothes back, for her pleasure, she got it.
Fujin met with them as soon as they left the hospital. He told them to grab his arms, and as they did, a strong wind surrounded them forming a tornado, and as the tornado fully covered them, they vanished.
They teleported through the tornado, and arrived in a place that they couldn't describe where it was. It was like the place were Liu Kang, Sonya and Johnny met Raiden in their dreams. They walked a few steps forward, and there was Raiden, along with Liu Kang, Cage, Cyrax and three other people they didn't know.
Liu Kang looked to her surprised, "Kitana!" he cheered
"Liu Kang, Cage, Raiden! I'm glad you guys are alright!" she cheered,
"I see you have recovered well, young princess, including you Jax" said Raiden "You guys woke up in a needed time"
"Is there something wrong?" asked Jax
"Yup," replied Johnny "Anyway guys, this is Kenshi, Frost and Ashrah" they looked to them and they nodded, basically saying hello.
"What is going on Raiden, and where's Sonya?" she asked
"Shinnok, a fallen god, is finding a way to be free from his cage in the Netherrealm" he continued "and once he's free, he plans dominate Earthrealm and Outworld".
"And to get free, he needs some scripts, which has a spell that will free him" said Cyrax
"Do you guys have them?" asked Jax
"Only me" replied Cage
"When Liu Kang and I had retrieved the scripts in the Netherrealm, Scorpion ambushed us and stole the scripts" said Ashrah.
"So Sonya is looking for the other script, am I right?" said Jax
"Yup! Right in Outworld" replied Cage
"But if she is looking for the last part, I believe that everyone is after them too" commented Kitana
"She's right Raiden" said Liu Kang "She could be in Danger"
"I'll help her" said Jax
"Count me in" said Johnny
"Okay, I'll teleport you two" said Raiden.
Johnny shouldn't have gone there…
"How will you go to Raiden now?" asked Li Mei
"I'll contact him after we leave this Canyon" said Sonya
"What are you guys going to do next?"
"I…I really don't know, I guess we must see if my other comrades have the scripts, if they do, then it's up to Raiden what will be our next move"
They kept walking along with all the warriors who joined them in the journey, many of them were still celebrating that Sonya had found the script. However not all were celebrating, Reptile, who was chained, was looking suspicious. He looked to all of them and was supposedly grinning, although he had his ninja mask on. Sheeva looked to him and saw that he was up to something, not that he was actually going to do something, but it's like something was about to happen, and he knew it all day long. The Shokan didn't thought twice, and went to his direction. Once there, as they kept walking, she grasped his arms strongly
"I know that you're hiding something" she commented calmly "you better tell me now before I rip your limbs off"
Reptile only chuckled, but Sheeva only became more irritated by his answer and moved her upper right hand and grabbed him by the neck.
"Don't you even try me" she said
"You really want to know?" said Reptile in his snake-like voice, "you got it"
Sheeva only looked serious to him
"Let's say that you were expected to have the scripts, and there are people expecting you all, Oh! Have we just left the Canyon? Look over there, there they are"
Sheeva turned around and saw that everyone stopped moving, in the distance she saw a big army, not of tarkatans but normal humans. Sheeva rushed to the front to Sonya and Li Mei, who looked surprised to the unexpected discovery.
"Did he knew about this?" said Sonya to Sheeva
"Yes, all along" she replied "what now?"
"We have only one option" said Sonya
That army was led by two people, and guy and a girl. Sonya saw them, and noticed that the guy had a similar outfit to shao kahn's, and had some dark makeup skirting the eyes, and the eyes itself where glowing blue. The women had a similar dress pattern to Kitana, Mileena and Jade, the only difference is that it was red, and she had red hair.
"Reiko…" murmured Li Mei
"You-you know him?" said Sonya surprised
"He's the one leading those who still support Shao Kahn, even after his death"
"And who's that girl besides him?"
"I have no idea, however I've heard rumors of a female blood lusted ninja working for him, that must be her"
"Well, hello my dear friends" shouted Reiko "I guess you guys are ready to be annihilated"
"Reiko!" shouted Li Mei "give up while you still can"
"Me? Giving up?" the warrior laughed "you truly don't realize that you're not intimidating enough to make me do something, don't you Li Mei?"
"Enough of this rubbish, get out of our way, unless you want to feel my fists in your face" shouted Sonya
"Well! What do we have here!" said Reiko "you sure are gorgeous, and we would love to show you our friendliness, don't we Scarlet"
"Sure" said Skarlet "it will only hurt you, a lot"
"I guess I have to do this the hard way" commented Sonya
Reiko took his hammer, lifted up, and pointed to them, "Attack" he roared, and the fleet of soldiers began moving.
Li Mei also commanded to attack and the horde began moving too
The fight had begun, Sonya faced a few soldiers who weren't a match for her, she performed a bicycle kick into the first one, the second she punched and kicked ending her move with shooting some sonic rings. The third was able to give her a punch, but she fought back by doing several combos, and ending with a leg grab.
Li Mei also faced warriors from every type, from small harmless minions to big stronger soldiers. However, like Sonya, they weren't also a match for her; she simply performed several combos in each of them ending most of them with carnival spin. However Skarlet saw her and confronted her.
Skarlet began throwing kunais into her, however she avoided them by doing a cartwheel, when she got closer, Li Mei did a flying furry into her. The ninja recovered and took her tanto, she swung it several times into Li Mei but at a point, she managed to block it and grab her wrist, she kicked Skarlet first at the stomach, then at the head, letting her go. The red ninja, now furious, jumped into Li Mei, punching her several times, Li mei retreated.
"What is it then?" snickered Skarlet "was I being too tough?"
Li Mei did not respond
"Let's end this" exclaimed Skarlet and took her tanto. She swung again into Li Mei, which was able to block the first attacks, however later, Skarlet did hit her, but soon after she cut her, Li Mei performed a back kick, hitting her, then shot a nova blast. When scarlet recovered, Li Mei attacked her, performing a carnival spin, then kick her twice, and she finalized her move with an uppercut, sending Skarlet to the ground.
Sheeva and the Shokans had no difficulty against the army, they hit multiple soldiers with their four hand with one single move. Even for the centaurs, the soldiers weren't a match.
Sonya was beating some soldiers, as she defeated them, She suddenly felt something coming to her direction, she quickly moved to the side, and for a short moment, she saw a hammer passing her side. Reiko tried to attack her while she was distracted.
"I think we can now introduce ourselves" said Reiko holding his hammer "I'm Reiko, give me the script or I'll crush your head with this.
"Do you want it?" said Sonya "come and get it!"
Reiko Swung his hammer several times into Sonya, but she dodged them. She attacked when she found the moment to, by punching him twice, she performed a back kick hitting him. Reiko recovered and began punching her, she blocked most of them, but she got hit by the last three ones, he them kicked her in the stomach, sending her further.
Sonya quickly recovered before landing on the floor, and performed a back roll as she landed. Reiko jumped into her, attacking her, this time, when she blocked his 4th attack, she hit back, first by kicks, followed by punches. However, when she was going to hit him again, he grabbed her fist and kicked her in the stomach.
He took his hammer and hit her, basically sending her to the air. As she was hit, the script, which was inside her pocket, fell off from it, it landed near her, but since she hadn't noticed that she had lost it, she didn't know it.
Sonya was lying on the floor in pain, and she saw Reiko's shadow getting closer, he was grinning, holding his hammer, "not so tough after all" he raised his hammer "don't worry, this will only hurt a lot". As he was about to smash her with the hammer, someone kicked him away in a quick move.
"Don't you ever treat a lady like that" said the man
"Cage" said Sonya surprised
"Hey Sonya, what's up!" he looked back to her, and helped her stand up
"It was a severe mistake to kicking me away, stranger" said Reiko while recovering
"and it was also a mistake trying to kill her" said another person coming from behind Reiko
"Jax!" said Sonya happily
It was Jax, and before Reiko reacted, he punched the ground causing the affected area to shake, Reiko lost his balance, and Jax grabbed him. He punched him several times and tossed him, away.
"This is not over!" said Reiko and walked away
Jax saw him leave, and as he looked back, Sonya ran to him happily,
"Jax!" she hugged him "I'm so happy that you're fine"
"Sonya, glad to see you alright too!" he smiled
"It's good to see you, but we have to hurry!" she said "I have to deliver the script to Raiden", but as Sonya searched her pockets, she realized that the scripts were gone.
"Oh no!" said Sonya shocked
"What is it then?" asked Jax
"The scripts... someone stole then from me"
"Looking for this?" asked Reiko coming back "I guess you dropped it, too bad, it's mine now, including the other one"
Sonya didn't know what he was talking, until she looked to Johnny, and saw the scripts, inside his pocket, being taken out, out of nowhere. Johnny also tried to fight back, but he got punched by an unknown force , it quickly took the scripts from his pocket, and revealed his true form, it was reptile. He moved to reiko's side.
"I guess it's time to leave" said Reptile "Goodbye foolish earthlings" said Reiko "Once Shinnok dominates this realm, I'll burn your village to the ground, Li Mei" he said looking to her, who had defeated Skarlet. He and Skarlet commanded retreat and all of what was left of the former troops of shao Kahn, began retreating quickly.
The team remained shocked, and eventually so did the warriors.
"What happened?" said Sheeva, who ran to them,
"Is she in our side?" asked Jax
"The scripts…" said Sonya
"What about them?" asked Li Mei
"They took them, they only need the last one" she replied
They looked shocked
"But how did Reptile know I had them with me" said Johnny
"WHAT?" grunted Jax "I can't believe you actually brought them"
"It doesn't matter now" said Sonya "We need to make sure that they don't have the last one, hopefully Liu Kang has found them"
"Neither does he" said Johnny
Sonya looked to him seriously
"He was ambushed by Scorpion, who took them from him." he continued "It won't take long for him to go the Netherrealm, and face Quan chi to get the other ones"
Sonya took a big sigh "It's hopeless"
They looked to her
"Shinnok will come"
Yikes! Are they heading for doomsday? Will Shinnok Conquer the realms? Only one way to find out, To be continued…

I'm really sorry that it took so long to upload this chapter, it's because I've been really busy these days, having little time to write , and it will probably get more busier for the following months. However, don't worry, I won't leave off the story, and I promise I'll finish this story before July
