Here is chapter seven! Duh duh duh! You know what this means? ONE chapter left! *Gasps.* Shocking, right? LOL. This will probably be my first complete fanfiction, so thanks to all readers. You are the reason I write! And my overactive imagination. Anyways, please review!
Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans. Believe me, you'd know if I did.
Chapter Seven
After much waiting on Raven's part, the lunar eclipse has started. Good thing, too, she thought. I might have lost control of my emotions if I didn't have anything else to focus on. She smoothed her cloak and looked at the red moon. It was beautiful, in a dangerous way. She felt relaxed. The situation seemed perfect. A front row seat, calmed emotions, and quiet. She sighed in happiness and touched a blade of grass. A layer of dark energy formed a makeshift blanket. She watched the moon turn red. People oohed and aahed. Raven was so entranced that she didn't notice Beast Boy sit next to her. Didn't notice, that is, until he spoke. "What's wrong with the moon?" he asked blatantly. Several people shushed him. Raven winced then glared at him. "Don't ruin this," she growled. "Anyways, there's nothing wrong with the moon. It's a lunar eclipse, which is when Earth's shadow passes over the surface of the moon, giving it a reddish look. You might want to know that this is also known as a blood moon." Beast Boy grinned. "Nice he said, "but how long here you on Wikipedia about this?" "Wikipedia is an unreliable source," she said flatly in response. "I never use it. Besides, did you ever consider that I already knew this stuff? Not everyone is glued to video games all the time, like you." She winced at her harshness, but she couldn't help but be annoyed at his ignorant attitude.
Raven's attention returned back to the moon. There was no need to focus on him. Beast Boy mentally cursed. He wasn't helping his own cause. The last thing he wanted was to make Raven mad. So much for getting on her good side. "I'm sorry," he mumbled. Hopefully with her empathy powers, she'd be able to sense his sincere remorse. Her scrutinizing gaze on him softened. "All is forgiven," she said, her voice still curt, but not cutting through him. Her glance left him once again. "Look, Rae," he said after a moment of silence between the two. More people shushed him. He clenched his fist and tried to yell back in protest. Raven smiled softly, but formed her face into a frown when he looked at her again. "As I was trying to say," he said, a bit quieter than at first, "you haven't been yourself lately. I know you're antisocial, and you prefer to be by yourself, but you've been acting like you're allergic to people. Why, Raven? What's going on?" Raven refused to look at him. She bit her lip and closed her eyes. He couldn't know. She wouldn't let him. There was no way he had figured it out. He didn't care about her. He loved Terra. Terra loved him. Robin loved Starfire. Starfire loved Robin. Cyborg loved Bumblebee. Bumblebee loved Cyborg. She was alone. Alone. Her entire life, she was alone. Weeks, months, even years of pent up rage, sadness, and fear, finally leaked out. A single crystalline tear tricked down her cheek. Beast Boy stopped staring at the moon and started staring at her. When he saw the tear, he instinctively grabbed her hand. "Raven," he exclaimed. "Are you okay?" Then he facepalmed himself with the other hand. Who cried when they were okay?
Raven yanked her hand out of his. Don't feel. She had almost destroyed the world once, and it was partially because of her uncontrollable emotions. "I'm not okay," she said. That was the truth. "But it has nothing to do with you. I just need to be alone." That was the lie. "Nu-uh," Beast Boy protested stubbornly. "I refuse to leave until you tell me what's going on." "NO!" Raven shouted, her demon side coming out. Her four eyes glowed a fierce red. Beast Boy shrank back in fear. Raven put her hood up, trying to hide her face. She was too dangerous to be around people. Especially him. "Don't you have something better to do?" she said spitefully. "Like hang out with your girlfriend?" Beast Boy gaped at her. Could Raven be… jealous? No, that was his imagination. "Raven," he said meekly, "you can tell me anything. Even if you don't believe it, it's true." Raven stood up, turning away from him. It was quiet. The moon had almost reached its fullest. After a minute, she decided to speak. What worried her was that Beast Boy wouldn't listen. "I can't feel," she said. Then she half laughed. "Well, I can, but it's too dangerous. But I still want to feel. I want to feel love so badly. So I made myself fall in love. I don't know if it was real love or if I forced myself. Whatever that type of love was, it was wrong. It was fake." "Who?" Beast Boy asked. "Who'd you fall in, love with?" He was going to kill whoever broke her heart. Raven turned her head to look at him. This was it. "Two people, Beast Boy. I fell in love with two people. Robin, and you."
How is Beast Boy going to react to this extremely expected confession? Well, expected by us. Not necessarily expected by him. Sorry if they're OOC; that's my weakness in character writing. Anyways, reviews are appreciated. Remember, ONE chapter left!
