*yawn* good gods. Way too early in the morning to be writing. The things I go through for people. Anyways I'd just like to inform those of you who don't go to my author page that I will be trying to stick to a minimum of 3 chapters a week. This being across all of my stories. But for those of you who don't care and just want to read this story, let's go ahead and begin.
Chapter 6: Tragedy
Intro: GO! (4th Naruto Intro)
Focus: Alexa
"See ya when I get back Melodi," Alexa said as she walked down the street. She walked hurriedly to get to Gold's Dojo so he would teach her that new technique he promised. The spinball was it? Well whatever it is it sounded interesting. Normally getting through the crowds in the Market quarter would be a task all of its own. But after all the footwork exercises Phoenix put her through the previous day she was just flowing straight through the mass of people like water through a crack. Then before she knew it she had made it. If you didn't know what It was, you would think it was a really old building. However Gold said he had made it built specifically like this so that it would be more authentic to the originals. Walking in to the building you could tell it wasn't built to be a spectacle. Wooden walls, wooden floors, wood everything basically. What was the impressive part of the building was the raised part of the floor that her almost metallic yellow echidna master sat.
"Master Gold. I'm here to learn the new technique," She said to Gold who was sitting there with his eyes closed.
"Well of course you are. What other reason would you be here for," He replied bluntly. He did have a point though. It wouldn't have been the first time Alexa had "forgotten" to come to the dojo. He then stood and walked down to the same level as her. "Now for you to learn the spin ball two things are required. First you must do exactly what I tell you to do, and second you have to hit me."
"But why would I-,"
"First rule, Do as I tell you," Gold said accompanying a slight smack to Alexa's forehead. Alexa just stared at him for a moment as if pondering how worth it any technique could be. She dismissed any such thought and jabbed straight at his chest. As expected he moved his arms at almost blinding speeds from behind his back to catch the punch so she threw her other hand at his face. This was also blocked by Gold, which Alexa reacted to by swinging her foot up to strike his face. Which of course the annoying man she was fighting dodged by leaning his head back. Unexpected however was Gold changing his grip on her hands into a wrist grip and throwing her away. After she hit the floor Gold walked up to her.
"This is why you won't be able to master the spin ball technique. You're too slow." Then he blinked, his eyes closed and when they opened again Alexa wasn't on the ground. Instead her elbow was touching the sides of his ribs.
"How'd I do Gold? Did I pass your test," Alexa asked him sarcastically while withdrawing her elbow from his side. Gold then turned around, looked at her for a second, and then finally smacked her forehead.
"You amaze me sometimes. But yes you pass. Now follow me," and then with that they walked into the next room of the dojo.
Focus: Symphoni
They had been walking for a week and then some. The amount of time the black wolf was spending with her was surprising. She had asked him to accompany her out of the forest, but when they had exited the forest he had just kept walking. Thankfully though with his help they had reached the two mile marker from the capital days sooner than she had anticipated. He wasn't much for conversation though and when they did talk it was very brief. Suddenly he held his scythe out as if saying to stop.
"Come on out. I know you bounty hunters are here, and I know you have us surrounded," the gruff voice of the Wolf said to what seemed to be nothing at all. Then the bushes started rustling and out emerged a Weasel and about 9 cats. They were all wearing some type of armor and had bows drawn.
"Fine, I guess you can play the big bad wolf for now. But you know how this situation goes," The weasel said. He was obviously the leader of these thugs.
"Yes I do. Now I guess we talk terms. How about… you give us all your money and surrender, and then I guess I won't have to skin you all alive," The wolf said harshly towards the weasel. "Go hide little girl. I'll handle these low lives."
"You're going to wish you hadn't said that Mr. Wolf. Boys, get him." No sooner than those words left his mouth did the weasel hear a scream from behind. Short but violent the sound was. To his horror he turned his head to find the Wolf standing by the still standing body of a decapitated cat. In the wolf's eyes was a cold, hateful stare that would leave the bravest of men shaking. As far Symphoni could see from the bush she was hiding in he had just vanished and then reappeared next to a corpse.
"I'll give you one chance- and only one chance to rethink your decision." As far as Symphoni could tell the fight was over. Then they charged at him. All except the weasel. It took no time at all for the wolf to cut them all with his scythe like cutting wheat with a…. well a scythe. It was then that she saw something out of the corner of her eye. Someone small, a squirrel presumably, was sneaking towards him while his back was towards him. She ran out of the bush screaming at him to move away. But by the time he heard her, the assassin's dagger was plunged straight into his heart. With his last breaths he swung his scythe slicing the assassin in half, and on the backswing cutting the weasel's sword arm off.
As he died on the ground, the wolf offered no words of comfort. "You're going to need to protect yourself little girl, so take my scythe. And there will be none of that staying and crying with me so take it and go," the wolf commanded her. Unbelievable to her she picked up the scythe, what she felt would be an unwieldy weapon, twirled it around as if it was a baton and held it blade up behind her back. With tears in her eyes she continued an action she couldn't believe. She started walking towards the capital.
Focus: Alexa
"… Now curl up and roll for a bit Alexa," Gold told her. She couldn't believe what she was being told to do. But he was the master so she did so anyways. Except for one thing, she was curled up but she couldn't roll to save her life.
"Why is this necessary Gold," Alexa asked him.
Gold then sighed heavily before saying "Maybe you need to see a proper spin ball performed before you'll understand." Then gold put his arms to his sides and spread his legs slightly, all before jumping backwards and seamlessly curling up. Right before her eyes he turned into a solid yellow sphere that began to rotate quickly. After it landed on the ground it began rolling forward towards the wall. It then turned and rotated in place, all the while increasing its rotation speed. Suddenly it launched itself towards the training dummy in the room. Before hitting the wall on the other side the sphere transformed again, this time back into the form of Gold. Looking back at the dummy she saw that it was now nothing but splinters. "You have this room to yourself for the day. I want to see if you can figure it out on your own Alexa." With that he walked out of the room leaving Alexa to stare and wonder just how she was going to do this. She then set out trying to figure out how to roll.
To be Continued
Outro: This will be the day (full song)
This is going to be the only fair warning you all get. Alexa learning the spinball is going to be nothing like Naruto learning the Rasengan. I just don't know how I would work that. So the next chapter Is going to be a month and a half in the future. Everything will be explained in chapter 7. Fair warning over. If you so far like the story then all I can ask of you is to favorite, review, and follow. See you guys later
