Chapter 7: The Return, Part 2
P4J-386 - Cellblock 1
Kim and the other had been sitting in that cell for what seemed like hours. They only time anyone had come or gone was when Vala had been taken. Since then, it seemed like they were forgotten, or their captors had other plans for them. They remained in silence, thinking of a plan when the time came.
It wasn't until nearly one hour that they heard footsteps. After what had happened earlier, Kim thought that it would be pointless to try and hide. However, it didn't matter when she saw that the two people that had came, was not dressed in black robes, but in SG uniforms.
Everyone rose to their feet and Carter recognized them. "General!" She exclaimed. "Major."
Morrison went to work on disabling the forcefield. O'Neill stood next to the forcefield and looked in the cell. "Hey, kids. Where's everyone else?"
"Vala was taken a while ago." Carter said. "And as for everyone else, I don't know."
"Well, Reynolds has found other cells and are on their way." O'Neill responded.
"Do you know whose behind this?" Bonnie asked. O'Neill shot a confused look at her, to which Bonnie responded with, "Sir."
O'Neill looked at Carter. "Whose your friends?"
Carter started to point at everyone, starting with Kim, while introducing them. "This is Kim Possible that I told you about." O'Neill nodded in responded. "Major Bonnie Rockwaller and Captain Tara Hawkins."
"Nice to meet you all." Then O'Neill quickly went on without skipping a beat. "Did they say why they wanted Vala?" O'Neill asked.
"We're fine, sir. Thanks for the concern." Bonnie sarcastically replied. "But as for your question, they weren't very talkative."
"Now isn't that a shocker." O'Neill sarcastically replied.
"There's something else." Carter started.
"Just please don't tell me it's bad news, Carter." O'Neill pleaded.
"There's at least two, maybe more, highly evolved people." Carter said.
"Carter. I asked not to be told if it's bad news." O'Neill reminded her, his voice sounding a little annoyed.
"I'm sorry, sir, but who knows what else they can do." Carter said. "They might be on the brink of ascension."
O'Neill exhaled, maybe sighing. "Ah, this day just keeps getting better and better." He grumbled.
Morrison had been working on disabling the forcefield, without any success. After another minute, O'Neill became impatient and went over to the controls.
"I got a better idea." O'Neill pulled out a block of C4 and placed it on the panel. O'Neill and Morrison backed away and hid behind an alcove. "Fire in the hole." O'Neill pressed the button on the remote detonator. The C4 went off, completely destroying the panel, cutting power to the forcefield.
Everyone came out, and took some of the extra P-90s and Zat guns from O'Neill and Morrison. Bonnie made sure that her P-90 was loaded. She looked over to Kim, and smugly asked. "You know how to use . . . "
Bonnie stopped, and looked on with shock as Kim checked the weapon and made sure it was loaded, like a professional. Kim smirked at Bonnie and gave a reply. "Of course I know how to use it. I've been trained in every type of weapon you could imagine. You could say that I'm better then you, Major." Kim said, making the Major part sounding like she was somewhat mocking Bonnie.
Bonnie growled, then directed her attention to O'Neill. "What's the plan, sir?"
"No plan." O'Neill replied casually. "Just rescuing is what we had in mind."
There were a few jaws dropping, metaphorically speaking. "You mean to tell me that you don't have a plan?" Bonnie said nearly on the verge of yelling.
"Other then rescuing everyone . . . pretty much." O'Neill admitted.
"If you don't have a plan, then we should get some Intel on whom we're dealing with and then . . ." Carter started, but was cut off by O'Neill.
"We already know who it is, Carter. What you four need to do is to get to the Enterprise, while we blow this place sky-high." O'Neill said, indicating that he and Morrison was going to blow the place up.
Everyone stared at the General, unsure of what to say or think, with the exception of Carter. "I'm sorry sir, but the what?"
"The Enterprise." O'Neill casually responded.
Carter groaned, maybe sighed. "You can't be serious."
"What?" Kim asked.
"Hey, I wasn't able to do it before." O'Neill said, trying to defend himself.
"What?" Tara asked, now curious as well.
"Why did you have to give it that?" Carter asked.
"If I have to say, what, then I'm going to shoot someone." Bonnie said in a threatening tone, a little annoyed that neither O'Neill nor Carter didn't answer anyone.
"Major," O'Neill started. "If there's any shooting around here, then it's at the enemy. Unless you're the enemy, then it's at us."
"Then tell us what you're talking about." Kim said, a little loud, but also trying to remain silent.
"I always wanted to name a ship the Enterprise." O'Neill said. "So I did."
"That's it?" Bonnie asked, with a slight annoyed tone. "That's what you two were talking about?"
O'Neill turned to Bonnie then said, "Yes" rather casually. O'Neill responded more casually then Bonnie would have expected for anyone in this situation. "Now, we should be leaving before we get some uninvited guests."
"I'll come with you, sir." Tara offered. "I believe I can be of some help."
"You get to the ship, Captain." O'Neill said, sternly. "That's an order."
"Actually, sir. She can be of help." Carter spoke up.
O'Neill looked confused. "What is your area of expertise, Captain?" He inquired.
"High temperature and energetic materials technology." Tara seemed to casually reply.
O'Neill stared on with great confused for a while, then directed his attention to Carter. "Carter?" He asked, eyebrows raising.
"She's an explosives expert." Carter informed the general.
"One of the best." Kim said as she remembered the files she went through.
"Besides, I work with more then just the actual explosives." Tara shrugged.
O'Neill grinned with this new piece of information. "Alright, change of plans. Captain, you're with me. Everyone else, get to the Enterprise. It's not far from the entrance. "O'Neill produced a remote, which he handed to Carter. "You know what to do. Let's go."
When that, O'Neill, Morrison and Tara split up from Carter, Kim and Bonnie and went their separate ways.
-Cellblock 2-
Mitchell had been siting with his back to the wall for an unspecific amount of time, and for all that time, he had been contemplating a plan, which would come into play after they get out, which he had finished coming up with not too long ago. It may get them killed, but he was all up for noble death. Pointless noble death on the other hand, he wasn't all to excited for.
When Mitchell informed everyone of his plan, he got a couple of responses that ranged from:
"I don't think I want to be a part of the plan. It's just going to get us killed." Was Wade's response.
To, "Wade Load is correct. We will be killed and it will be unwise to proceed with this plan." Was Teal'c's response.
And it ended with, "Your nuts and the plan is insane." Jackson shot back.
The last statement only added to Mitchell's insanity.
Everyone had their say in the about the plan and agreed that it was insane and said that everyone would get killed, but they agreed to the plan anyway. They would have a better chance of knowing if the plan would be successful if they knew who captured them and how many of them, seeing how no one had even came by, they had to go under the assumption that it was the plan was insane.
Mitchell didn't really care for the response. He admitted that the plan would have a greater chance of getting them killed, but he had reminded them that they were going to be killed anyway, so they might as well as try. He was just going to wait for the right time, which came sooner then he thought. Outside they heard three sets of footsteps.
Teal'c and Mitchell got to the sides, next to the entrance, so they could be out of view and waited. And waited. And waited. They waited longer then expected. Mitchell looked over at Teal'c, confused. They didn't have to wait much longer before the forcefield was disabled, and they started to jump out, but stop when they heard a voice they knew.
"Dr. Jackson." Came the voice of Colonel Reynolds as he entered.
Mitchell came from Reynolds' blind side. "Reynolds?"
"Mitchell." Reynolds said, turning to the crazy Colonel. "Where are the others?"
Mitchell shrugged in response. "More or less in another cell."
"Major, Captain. Give them a weapon." Reynolds ordered as he handed Mitchell a spare P-90, while Major Morrison and Captain Bosworth handed everyone a P-90, but Wade wasn't sure about having a gun.
"You'll need it." Major Morrison informed Wade.
"I'm not so sure." Wade uneasily responded.
Major Morrison reached over and pressed a button on the weapon. "There. It won't fire any bullets. Happy now?"
Morrison sounded a little tense, but he had a good reason to be. "Of course." Wade nodded. "Yeah, but also for saving us." Wade said, making the latter part of his response sound with much joy.
"Let me guess; Mitchell came up with an insane plan that would have gotten all of you killed?" Reynolds inquired as he eyed Mitchell.
"Pretty much." Jackson casually replied with a slight smirk as he checked his weapon.
"Hey! There was a very slight chance that we would have gotten out alive." Mitchell retorted. "Now, staying alive when we get back to Earth on the other hand..."
"We get the picture, Colonel." Lt. Mooney responded, interrupting Mitchell.
"Besides." Reynolds said. "We need to go, now."
"What?" Jackson nearly shouted. "We can't leave! We need to find out what's going on!"
"Doctor, we need to leave, now." Reynolds said in a stern tone. "Even as we speak, more super soldiers could be on their way!"
Jackson's shoulders slumped and his head slumps in resignation. "You've got to be kidding me?" He asked, raising his head.
"Reynolds isn't a kidder, Jackson." Mitchell said. "And you know what that means?"
"Of course I know what that means." Jackson replied almost instantly. "And if we find out what he is planning, then we can have a better chance at stopping him, before it's too late."
Reynolds thought about what Daniel was talking about. "You win, but we have to hurry."
Wade tried to listen, but he didn't really understand what was going on. "What? Who are you talking about?"
"We'll fill you in later." Mitchell said. "Let's get going."
-Poseidon - Bridge-
The Poseidon was traveling through hyperspace, and was only less then a few hours away from their destination. Barkin was sitting in one of the helm stations next to Caelus, absently looking out the viewport of the ship.
"Yep," General Barkin sighed. "just like the good ol' days." Caelus looked over at Barkin and smiles, but Barkin didn't smile. No surprise there. "Except I'm here against my will, and you're dressed like a Monk of a monastery."
"Yeah, you know, some things change, but others stay the same." Caelus replied in an agreeable tone.
Barkin nodded, then spoke. "Tell me why you took this ship? Why didn't you say something to anyone at Stargate Command?" General Barkin asked.
Caelus cleared his throat and turned his chair to look directly at Barkin. "Well, obviously I'm improvising right now. I know for a fact that everyone at Stargate Command and the IOA wouldn't even listen to me, so commandeering this ship was the only choice I had."
"Then why are you doing this?"
"Because I have to save everyone before they are killed." Caelus replied, his voice sounded urgent.
"Aren't we just full of ourselves?" General Barkin replied, turning his attention towards the view point.
"That, and I always wanted to put Bonnie in her place, for every nasty thing she has ever done." Caelus replied with a smirk.
"That I understand." General Barkin responded.
"Yeah." Caelus nodded, then thought for a moment. He then got up and walked towards the exit.
"Where are you going?" The general inquired.
"We still have some systems that are not completely finished and we may need them." Caelus replied over his shoulder. He stopped for a moment, then added, "And we're going way too slow for my liking, so I'm going to make some improvements." Caelus walked off the bridge.
-Group 1-
Carter lead Kim and Bonnie through the corridor and made a left turn, finding a door that looked like it was blasted with several explosive charges.
"Looks like we went the right way." Carter said as she exited, with Kim and Bonnie right behind.
Walking several yards, they over looked out onto the vast landscape, only to see nothing, not even the Jumper.
"I thought there was supposed to be a ship here?" Bonnie complained as they kept walking.
"It must still be cloaked." Carter replied.
"If it has a cloak, then how do we . . ." Bonnie was cut short as she smacked right into an invisible object, then fell to the ground. "Ow, that hurt." When she looked, there nothing. "What just happened?" She asked as she stood and reached out to feel what wasn't there.
Kim rolled her eyes. Did Bonnie just forget what they where talking about, already? Even though Kim didn't have enough information of all the technology that had been acquired throughout the years by Stargate Command, she knew enough that they had found the Jumper.
"You ran into the cloaked Jumper, Major." Carter said, with a slight grin.
"Which just happened to be a parked ship." Kim shot a grin at Bonnie, which Bonnie shot an annoyed glare back at Kim.
Carter pulled out the remote and pressed a button. The sound of a mechanical door opening as Carter disabled the ship's cloak to reveal a cylindrical shaped ship with an angled front and rear shape. The interior of the ship consisted of two sets of black leather seats, on opposite sides of the ship, with some black stapes, holding some provisions.
They entered and Bonnie went straight to the cockpit and sat down in the pilot's seat, while Carter pressed a button and the rear door closes.
"How do you power this up?" Bonnie asked as she looks around the console.
"You can't fly this ship." Kim scoffed. "You don't even know how to fly."
The seat spun around and Bonnie faced Kim and she had a very smug expression on her face. "Looks like Possible didn't read my file." She said sounding all high and mighty, before turning back to the console and went to grab the control stick
"Actually, Major. Unless you have the . . ." Carter stopped when Bonnie grabbed hold, and the console sprang to life. Carter's eyes widen with surprise.
"Right touch?" Bonnie finished.
"Anyone could do that." Kim said as she removed Bonnie from the pilot's seat. The console shutdown when Bonnie was pulled away. Kim reached for the control stick, getting a firm hold. Nothing happened. She tried to concentrate harder and only succeed in making Bonnie beamed with more pride.
"You done yet?" Bonnie asked, desperately trying to hide a grin.
Kim wondered if Bonnie's ego could get bigger then the ship. She got out of the chair and moved to another chair, while Bonnie graciously took the seat and powered up the Jumper, again.
Not wanting to show Bonnie her ignorance, but Kim just wanted to have a question answered. "How did you power it up?"
"I have the right touch." Bonnie said. "It must be in my blood."
"Literally." Carter responded with absolute seriousness.
Bonnie looked back at Carter, as does Kim. "What do you mean by, 'literally'?" Bonnie asked.
"Well," Carter started. "Certain ancient technology, like the Stargate for example, can be used by anyone." Carter then indicated to the Jumper. "But others like the Jumper, can only be used by someone with the ATA gene."
"The what?" Came two really confused voices almost at once.
Carter grimaced, but proceed to try and explain. "ATA or Ancient Technology Activation, is believed to be caused by a single gene that's always on, instructing various cells in the body to produce a series of proteins and enzymes that interact with the skin, the nervous system and the brain." Carter said, somewhat quick, then noticed the confused look on Kim and Bonnie's face.
"Did you get a word she said?" Bonnie asked Kim.
Kim shook her head. "No."
"In other words, the gene is used as a sort of a genetic key," Carter said. "So that only the Ancients and their kind could operate certain dangerous and powerful technologies."
"Oh." Kim said with understanding.
"Ok, Colonel. Thanks. What do I do next?" Bonnie asked.
"You can control it with your mind." Carter responded.
Kim chuckled and grinned. "This has got to be good."
Bonnie shot an irritated glare at Kim, then turned back to the console. Bonnie started to concentrated on moving the ship. She succeeded in opening the drive pod, and the Jumper lifted up several feet into the air.
"Ha! There's nothing I can't do wrong." With that said, the weapon's pod opened and a drone fired from it. It flew, leaving behind a streak of a yellow light behind it, like a tail. Soon, it made contact with the side of the mountain, blowing up, and creating a rather large hole in the side of the mountain, exposing the structure to the elements. "Oops."
"Nice shot!" Kim exclaimed with sarcasm. "Where you intentionally trying to let them know where we are?"
"What makes you so sure that they didn't know earlier?" Bonnie shot back, angrily. "Besides, it was an accident."
"I doubt that." Kim replied, crossing her arms.
"Hey! Hey! Calm down." Carter said, trying to keep them calm. "This is a very advance piece of technology, and it even took some experts a while to actually learn to control it."
"I guess that's understandable." Kim replied.
"Yes, that is." Bonnie said. "What do we do now?"
"Until General O'Neill contacts us, start learning how to control the ship." Carter suggested to Bonnie. "At least we can get out of here without much..." Carter didn't finish when the H.U.D popped up on the screen almost immediately.
Three dots appeared, coming from the other side of the structure. Bonnie grew worried. "Umm, Colonel? It is just me, or do we . . ." Bonnie started, but she didn't finish, as she became more worried.
Carter concentrated on the the H.U.D., then the expression on her face changed. "Uh-oh!" Carter said with great alarm.
Kim turned around, towards Carter, very quickly "What do you mean by, 'Uh-oh!', Colonel?"
"We've got three ships, inbound." Bonnie said, sounding worried.
"We have to take them out." Carter replied.
"Well then, take a seat and enjoy." Bonnie said with a grin.
Bonnie disengaged the H.U.D and saw the three ships out the windshield. She grinned as she concentrated, firing three drones, at once. All three went flying, and made direct contact with the ships, causing some large explosions.
"Direct hit." Bonnie laughed, with victory, but it was short lived as all three ships came out of the smoke of the explosion. They appeared damaged, but not so much. That didn't stop the pilots from intercepting the Jumper, with the intention of destroying it. "H-How much should it take to destroy one of those alien ships?" Bonnie nervously asked.
Carter shook her head, her eyes widen. "Just one." Was all Carter said, as the ships opened fire.
