Glass Friendships
"Wait, wait. Let me get this straight you hit on both of them? In the same day?" Roni leaned against the arm rest of the couch, tucking her foot under her body.
Emma chuckled and nodded, leaning against the back of the couch facing Roni. They had just finished their room service meal of bacon and eggs and were now sitting on the couch laughing and talking about how Emma had met Ruby and Belle. "Yeah, first I hit on Ruby. She was in my Freshman government class and we sat next to each other on the first day. We immediately hit it off, then at the end of class I walked with her to the student center and we had lunch together. And I totally flirted hard core with her. She ate it up." Emma chuckled at the memory and rolled her eyes.
"Finally, when we finished lunch I asked her out. She said that she was taken, sorta. She said she had her heart set on a hot girl she went to high school with. Then, it was the strangest thing. We had just met and then she was asking me if I wanted to room with her. I had mentioned in passing that I was looking for a place. She told me about how her granny let her live in her apartment for free but she was looking for a roommate. She liked me and bam I said yes."
"So, then what about Belle. What is her hit on story?"
Emma rolled her eyes, "Well, Belle and I had English together and I just so happened to have that class right after my lunch with Ruby. Well when we got there she was talking with this really cute chick with bright red hair. Ruby and this girl were laughing and joking and so I thought that the girl was the one that Ruby was talking about that she had a crush on." Emma laughed, "Boy was I wrong.
"Well I said bye to ruby and then headed into the class. That's when I saw Belle. She's gorgeous as you know. Having this hot nerd type to her. Anyways, I went up to her and started flirting and sat next to her. She flirted back a little and then I asked her out, she also told me her heart belonged to another."
Roni rolled her eyes, "Wow, you bounce back fast." She chuckled and let Emma continue.
Emma shrugged, "I told you. I've always been used to just going from one girl to the next. Anyways, after class I was greeted by Ruby. She immediately went towards Belle and gave her a hug. I looked between the two of them and then I put two and two together. So, when I asked them if they were the ones they talked about they just blushed. So…" She smiled widely, "I played matchmaker. I told them both to just go out already since both were clearly in love with each other. I told them about how I asked both of them out and that they both said their heart belonged to another, causing us all to laugh. The three of us have been friends ever since. I still can't wait till I toast at their wedding. I feel very proud of pushing them together."
Roni smiled and tilted her head, "So, why aren't they engaged or married?"
Emma shrugged and rolled her eyes, "Oh, Ruby has this thing about how she wants Belle to have the perfect ring. I don't know."
"Why don't they live together?"
"Belle's father is sick. He is on his death bed. Belle actually does live with us, but has been staying with him until he passes." Emma furrowed her brow and looked down.
Roni frowned, "Oh, that's unfortunate. Losing a parent…well it's never a fun experience."
Emma leaned towards Roni and kissed the frowning brunette, she decided to change the subject, "How does your head feel? Symptoms aren't getting any worse, are they?"
Roni pulled Emma on top of her, causing the blonde to straddle her. She looked into the emerald eyes and smiled, "Nope, barely a headache."
Emma smiled and raised a brow, "Hey, watch it you. The doctor said no strenuous activities."
Roni rolled her eyes, "I haven't even done anything."
Emma pushed herself back and crossed he arms in front of her chest. She stared back at Roni and shook her head, "I may not have known you for very long, but I can already read your mind. And I know what you were thinking." She leaned down and placed a chaste kiss on the plump lips, "And that my darling is off limits for the next few days."
Roni pouted and tightened her grip around Emma's waist, "Fine. Then what should we do instead dear?"
Emma looked up and thought, what should they do? She had no idea, she wasn't used to this. Sex, she was good at sex, but dates and just spending time with a girl and enjoying each other's company? Well this was new to her, even the girls she dated in the past they only ever went on simple stereotypical dates. So, now she was stuck with a dilemma of having no idea what on earth they would do now.
Then it came to Emma, she had the perfect idea, she looked towards the brunette and smiled, "I have an idea, get dressed and then we will go." Emma stood up and started to walk towards the bedroom.
Roni raised a brow and then got up following Emma to get dressed.
Roni groaned as the blindfold on her face kept her from seeing. They were in the car, she knew that because she had gotten in before being blindfolded, however, now she had no clue where they were going or what they were doing. It had to be something simple because of the fact Roni was on tight constrictions for physical activity to not worsen her concussion.
They drove for a good while and Roni had no idea where they were going, she didn't even know which direction they were heading, or even an inclining of where they could even possibly be going. Suddenly, they came to a stop. Emma had opened her door first and then helped Roni out and carefully escorted her to their destination.
Roni breathed steadily, a little nervous, but trusted Emma. Which she still couldn't get over how much she trusted the blonde after only knowing her for a short amount of time. Emma guided the brunette to a large green house. However, this green house was not the stereotypical green house. It didn't house plants but something much more beautiful, something vastly more unique.
Emma stood in front of the brunette and kissed her softly, smiling when Roni licked her lips with the tip of her tongue when Emma pulled away. Emma stepped a small step backwards and removed the blindfold.
Roni blinked, adjusting to the lights, and began to look around. She smiled brightly, they were standing in the middle of the glass gardens. She loved the glass gardens, she had only seen pictures and had been wanting to go, but for some reason never found the time to go. She pulled the blonde close to her and kissed her, she pulled away and smiled, the smile reaching her eyes. "How, how did you know I've been wanting to go here?"
Emma blushed, "I didn't. So, guess I made the right decision?" She wrapped her arms around the brunette's waist and pulled her close to Emma's body.
Roni nodded and smiled, "yes, thank you babe. It's perfect."
For two hours, they walked around. They looked at all the glass sculptures and all the glass work the garden had to offer, stopping only a few times to sit down and let Roni rest for a moment as to not over stimulate the brunette. Which had become challenging when Roni would try to get handsy, but Emma would always put a stop to it, even though she wanted so much not to. After Roni started yawing they headed back to the hotel and snuggled up on the couch once more.
Roni was laying between Emma's legs, her back resting on Emma's chest, while Emma had her arm laying on Roni's chest. They had ordered more room service, this time ordering an early dinner since it was 3 pm and a little too late for lunch but they were both hungry. This time they ordered two burgers and fries. Emma had to admit she was pretty happy about this meal because she had a weakness for burgers.
So, while they waited they sat and talked. It was moments like this that Emma enjoyed. She truly felt at ease around the brunette, feeling so natural. She didn't understand it; how could she just want to never leave this woman's side. She felt like she could lay here holding the brunette until her last dying breath. It was hard for Emma to grasp, she never wanted this with anyone, ever. Now she craved it. She couldn't help but feel nothing but happiness when around the brunette. However, there was something that Emma couldn't help her mind from wandering to, and that was Dani.
Emma ran her fingers through Roni's hair and looked down at the brunette, "Roni?"
"Yes darling?"
"Will you tell me about Dani?"
Roni paused a moment, she didn't like talking about Dani. It was a very sore subject for her, talking about the first and only love she had ever know. That is until Emma, she truly felt she could fall in love with the blonde, and she wanted to be fully open and honest with the Emma.
Emma noticed the pause, she didn't want to push the brunette, but she truly was curious to know what the woman Roni's first love was like. "I know it hard to talk about, you don-"
Roni interrupted Emma and squeezed the arm wrapped around her chest, "no, it's okay. I want to be open with you Emma. It's, it's just hard to talk about. She, she was very important to me and when I lost her well I wasn't in very good shape for years afterwards. Until I was 23 did I finally get out of my depressive state. It, well it wasn't a good time for me. Finding Zelena was the only thing that kept me going. Since I found Zelena in the middle of Dani and I dating."
Emma adjusted and listened intently, holding the brunette close to her.
Roni sighed and continued, holding tightly on Emma's arm, "well, as you know she and I met senior year of high school. She was a transfer student, so that's why I had never met her before. She was a military brat, although she definitely was not a brat. She had a heart of gold. She was so kind to everyone she spoke to, she was truly a beautiful soul." She paused as tears began to fall down her face, causing Emma to place a soft kiss on the brunette's head letting the brunette know she was there for her. "She, was in remission when I met her. But, um, that didn't last but only a few months. We started dating only a month after being friends, I guess I have a pattern for rushing into relationships."
Roni chuckled then continued, "we had plans of going to college together, we were going to go to a university here in Seattle and share a dorm. But, then she got worse towards graduation. She was always in the hospital. I stayed with her a majority of the time, at least as much I could with finals and graduation approaching. But, I made it work and visited as much as I could. I put off college until she got better, so we could still go together."
Emma made the realization, she understood now why Roni never went to college, "and that's why you never went to college? Because she never got better?"
Roni nodded and wiped the tears from her eyes, "yes, I couldn't. I just couldn't attend a school or any school without her. Zelena had to do some major convincing for me to go and take those few business classes. The only reason she was able to talk me into it was because it wasn't even actual business classes, like at a university or anything. They were more workshops than anything."
"I understand. You went through something horrible. I probably would have done the same," Emma ran her fingers through the brown locks. "I hope to never put you through something like that ever again. I never want to be the cause of your pain." And she really didn't, she cared for the brunette. She really didn't want hurt the brunette in any way and she didn't care how weird all of this was, she wanted to cause only love and happiness for the brunette.
"Thank you, Emma. That, well it means a lot. I only want to be the cause of happiness for you as well. Your amazing Emma. I hope to never lose you."
Emma smiled and kissed Roni's forehead, "I'm not going anywhere as long as I have a say in it. I've grown very attached to you already."
Roni just nuzzled further into Emma's body, the moment didn't last long though, because there was a knock on the door. Roni groaned and went to go answer it. When she reached the door, she opened it and found Sara there with the room service cart. Roni smiled and let her in. "Thank you, Sara, just put it in the living room again."
Sara nodded and headed to place the room service cart in the living room. Sara began to prep the trays and looked towards Emma, "Hello Emma, good to see you again. You must be something special if Roni keeps brining you here. She never brings any girls here."
Emma blushed but before Emma could speak Roni spoke.
"Emma is special indeed," Roni winked as she leaned against the wall.
Emma bit her lip, "So I keep hearing."
Sara smiled and finished fixing the cart. When she was finished she started to walk towards the door. She hugged Roni and Roni went and got cash from the metal box, and handed her a bill. Then Sara headed towards the door.
"Alright ladies, you are all set. Enjoy your dinner."
"Thank you, Sara, it was good to see you too," Emma said as she smiled.
Roni sat down next to Emma and wrapped an arm around the blonde's waist, "Yes, thank you Sara. Have a wonderful rest of your day."
Sara opened the door and smiled, "Thank you, you two do the same." Then she was gone, with the door clicking shut behind her.
The two women began eating their dinner and enjoyed small conversations about likes and dislikes, pet peeves, and quirks. They basically just got to know each other. It felt good for both of them to just talk naturally with one another. It still felt weird to both women to just fall so naturally into a relationship. It was going to take some getting used to, but the bond the two women shared it was, well beautiful. It was like the whole world meant for them to meet and the stars just aligned perfectly at just the right time.
When they finished eating they snuggled up for a movie and then went to bed early, holding each other close. The day they had Monday is how the next day went as well, almost to the T. However, they didn't go to the glass garden on Tuesday they just stayed in and watched movies because Roni was feeling a little sleepy. Emma was worried about this and decided to call the doctor to see if they needed to come in. The doctor assured them that there was no need, that Roni was okay, since Roni no longer had a headache and no dizziness or nausea. So, Emma let it go, but she wouldn't let Roni do a thing all day, so the brunette could just relax.
By Wednesday morning Roni felt fine, she wasn't having anymore symptoms and she was pleased with the quick recovery. Emma had received a text from Ruby that her and Belle wanted to have lunch with Emma and Roni. Roni said she was up to it and asked if Zelena could come along that way everyone could get to know one another. Emma for some reason felt very nervous. It felt like she was going to be meeting the parents or something, despite already having met Zelena.
Emma was wearing a pair of tight skinny jeans, with a simple white V-neck, and ankle high brown boots. Her hair was in loose curls and her makeup was simple.
Roni was wearing jeans, and a tight shredded slipknot shirt, which Roni only had because she liked the style, not so much a fan of the band. She wore black leather boots and her hair was curled, and her makeup was simple but made her eyes really pop.
Emma was doing final touches on her simple makeup when she felt arms wrap around her front, she leaned into the embrace and smiled when Roni kissed her neck. "Well hello there."
"Hello, you look beautiful," Roni squeezed the blonde and kissed the top of Emma's shoulder.
Emma turned in Roni's arms and kissed the brunette softly, "as do you."
Roni placed another quick kiss on the blonde and walked away, causing Emma to pout. Roni chuckled and waved for Emma to follow, "Come on babe, we don't want to be late. It's already 11:30."
Emma ruffled her hair a little to give it some volume and then nodded, following Roni to the door.
They finally got to the restaurant after beating a little traffic. They parked outside a small café and quickly found Ruby and Belle. Zelena wasn't there yet, but Roni said she was on the way and just got caught up in traffic.
"So, Roni how long have you wanted to own a bar?" Ruby sipped some of her water and smiled.
"Honestly, I can't remember a time when I didn't one day want to own a bar/club. Then when my parents passed and I inherited the family fortune, well it all just seemed to fall into place. Seems like a lot of things lately are falling into place." She turned towards Emma and wrapped an arm around Emma waist, causing the blonde to blush.
Belle smiled, "I still can't get over the fact that you got Emma to settle down. I didn't think she was ever going to be tamable, ow," She rubbed her leg after receiving a kick under the table from Emma.
Ruby chuckled, "It's true babe, I can't count all the times I had to run interference with some of the crazy chicks that called you. Like that one girl, um what was her name…" Ruby trailed of deep in thought.
Belle turned towards Emma, then back to Ruby, "Which one? The red head who tattoo Emma's name on her arm or the one who made a home video of herself masturbating to Emma's picture and screaming Emma's name?"
Roni turned to Emma and raised a brow, trying to hold back a chuckle, "Really?"
Emma bit her lip and blushed from embarrassment. Emma didn't care that people knew she slept around a lot, because she frankly didn't give a damn what people thought. But, those the crazy women she had experiences with, well they were definitely embarrassing. Emma nodded, "um, yeah. I met both of them at the same club, but a couple months apart. The first girl, um her name was Megan…"
"That's right! Megan, that's who I was thinking of. That chick was insane. You must be really good in bed if after a one night stand she was tattooing your name."
Roni winked, "oh she is."
The table filled with laughter and Emma just shook her head, "okay, no ganging up on Emma."
"Ganging up on Emma, well now that sounds like a game I'd enjoy." The group turned to see Zelena approaching the table.
Roni stood and smiled, "hay sis." She hugged her sister, kissing her on the cheek and then sat back down.
Zelena leaned down and hugged Emma before sitting next to Roni at the table, "so, we are ganging up on Emma? What about?"
"Oh, just the crazy one-night stands Emma has had," Belle chimed.
Zelena chuckled, "oh, my dear sister here could give you a run for your money I'm sure. She has had quite a few of crazy girls come after her after a one-night stand."
Emma chuckled, "I don't know. Mine were pretty crazy."
Roni shook her head, "are we really going to compete to see who has had the craziest one-night stand chick?"
Ruby and Belle both laughed and said in sync, "yes!"
Emma laughed, "come on babe, what's the craziest experience you've had with an ex one-night stand?"
Roni nudge Emma and groaned, "Fine. But only for you." Which caused the peanut gallery to collectively let out an 'awe'. Roni thought for a moment.
Before Roni could say anything Zelena chimed in, "oh what about that chick that made a doll out of her hair for you?"
Emma chuckled, "that is about as bad as Megan."
"Whose Megan?" Zelena asked.
"Oh, Megan was a girl that tattooed Emma's name on her body," Ruby said.
Zelena laughed, "wow, but at least she didn't tattoo Emma's face like one chick did for Roni."
Emma laughed, "she tattooed Roni's face on her?"
Roni rubbed her forehead and blushed, "yes, on her fucking bicep. The whole world will see this chick walking around with my face on her. It was so embarrassing."
Emma laughed, "alright I think you win."
Zelena laughed, "see I told you. Roni has had some crazy ass chicks walk into her life."
The table busted out laughing, while Emma and Roni just shook their heads in embarrassment. But, neither of them actually cared. It was comforting to know they both had crazy women experiences in the past. The lunch was filled with a lot of laughs, mostly because they were making fun of the two notorious one-night standers. Everyone could see that the two women were made for each other.
After a two-hour lunch Emma went back with Ruby and Belle to their apartment, while Zelena and Roni went back to the hotel. Emma needed to change and get ready for work tonight and she had run out of clothes that she had a Roni's. Everyone exchanged numbers so that way everyone could contact anyone. Roni and Emma were both feeling really good to know that the people that mattered most in their lives got along. This relationship was beginning to be the start of something much bigger than just Emma and Roni, it was turning into a family.
Alright, what did you all think? Till next time!
