Sorry for the long wait but I made this one extra long and a lot of feeling. Hope you like it. :D

Chapter 7

It was an early morning on saturday and the heavy metal looking man laid in bed enjoying his day of rest. He felt lazy and didn't want to get up. His usual saturday routine would be: get up, get dressed, eat a light breakfast, out for a jog, then come back and take a shower. He didn't feel like doing any of that, so he stayed under the covers. But his little furry feline never gives him a chance, he's a loyal pet and sometimes it seems that the cat takes better care of its owner then the owner can care of him. The black cat patted his face as if playing with yarn, "what's up cat?" said Gajeel with one eye open and in a sleepy tone. The cat only meowed back at his owner. "I'm not moving a muscle i'm staying here," he turned over to his side. The cat was now playing with his hair and rolling around in it. Gajeel knew his cat wouldn't give up so he made the decision to get out of bed, "ok, fine you win." He got up from his bed and placed his cat over his shoulder. He made his way to the kitchen and patted the cats head, "I bet you're hungry."

As they entered the small kitchen Gajeel opens a small cabinet just above the toaster. "Hmm…tuna, beef, chicken… oh I know how about salmon." The cat just purred. "Ok salmon it is." He placed his cat on the floor in front of his food, "there you are cat." The cat sniffed its food before eating it, and Gajeel rolled his eyes, "picky eater!"

The heavy metal looking man sat on the couch with a bowl of cereal in hand and propped his feet up on the coffee table, then turned on the tv to the news channel. ~"Yesterday night a man stole…"~ "Wow there's no rest in the city now a days." ~" if you've seen him, please call 888…"~ An image of the man popped up on the screen. Gajeel almost choked on his cereal when he saw the man in the screen. He had a long head with a really bad overbite and he was balding from the top of his head. "Damn they get uglier every time," Gajeel laughed.

His cat jumped on the couch and sat next to him licking his paw, "you shouldn't be talking," said the black cat.

"Shut the hell up Lily!"

"Oh sorry did I bring up something unpleasant," laughed his cat.

"See this is why I don't feed you, you talk too much. I liked you when you didn't talk."

"That's animal abuse! I'd feed my self but you put the food high in the cabinet and it's caned. Caned!" Lily said between licks.

"Grow thumbs then if you're that mad, what's wrong with canned food?!" said the heavy metal looking man while crunching on this corn flakes. ~"Next up on channel four…"~

"You're almost out of food, you know that." Gajeel just grunts. "You have to go shopping soon." Gajeel stares at the screen trying to ignore his feline friend. "There won't be dinner tonight if there's no food."

Gajeel sighs heavily, "I'll go later." He places the bowl of cereal on the coffee table then switches the channel.

"Now!" the black cat bats the control out of his owners hands. ~

{toon to a kid show} "Teletubbies…"~

"Hey watch it!" Gajeel stares angrily at his cat. "Fine. I don't know what's so important about some food that we'll devour later." The heavy metal looking man gets up and goes to his room to slip on some sweats and a sweatshirt.

"You mean you," said the cat as he followed behind.

He narrowed his eyes, "don't act like you don't eat human food too." He pulled over his sweatshirt then slipped on his worn out vans.

"I don't." Lily walked playfully behind Gajeel. Gajeel grabs his keys and heads for the door. "Ahm, aren't you forgetting something." Gajeel turns around and finds his cat with his wallet. He bends down and reaches for it then rubs his cats head vigorously. "Gajeel!" 'Honestly what am I going to do with you.' Gajeel just laughs at his cat, then turns to the door. "Don't forget the Kiwis!" added the cat behind him.

Gajeel shakes his head, 'so that was his plan all along. So sneaky.' Lily just sits there looking up at him. Gajeel turns around to salute his pal goodbye, but when he turned he couldn't help but cringe at the kitty eyes his cat made to him. He rolled his eyes and exhaled deeply, "you wanna come!"

"Where in the world have you seen a cat go to the store with his owner. That's not normal."

"The hell, you ain't not normal either."

"Tusahy, fine i'll come to make sure you don't forget the kiwis." Gajeel rolled his eyes and headed out the door with his cat following behind. They walked on the empty city street and headed for the grocery store on the other side of town where they had better goods. The side of the city they lived on was a bit bummy and torn up. There was more beggars then residence. Lily looks around the area, "hey you never take me out anymore, everythings changed a lot around here." Gajeel rolls his eyes, as they passed by a park. "Hey look a bird," says Lily excitedly and goes and chases it. 'And this is why.'

Lily comes back panting, "sorry cat instincts can't help." They finally reach the good part of town where the streets were more peaceful. "Really like this part of town! Why don't you live here again?"

"Hush it cat!" They entered the supermarket. "Don't make yourself stand out." Gajeel gets a cart and puts Lily on the little childs seat. "Kay, cats aren't supposed to talk," he leans into Lily.

"Look mommy the man is talking to his cat!" A pigtailed snotty brunet girl points to Gajeel as she exits the door. The mother drags her along scolding her, "don't pay attention to the crazy man."

That last comment struck a nerve on the heavy metal looking man and he clenched his fist. He looked at his cat who meowed after they left. "Oh you're going to get it. So what are we here for again?" He asked his feline friend. The cat just looked back up at him without saying a word. "Well... I asked you a question."

"Sheesh first you tell me to act like a cat then you tell me to talk. Make up your mind." The black cat gets up and jumps from the childs seat to the bigger shopping cart space. Then circles around and lays curled up. "Well first lets get the essentials like eggs, bread, milk, etc. Then we can start getting the good food." They went around store to get what they needed which was mainly in the back.

"What next cat?"

"Well… since were near the fruit stand lets get some kiwis!" The cat said a little bit too excited.

"Yes, yes kiwis," he licked his lips.

"You and your damn kiwis," Gajeel shook his head. They went to go pick up some kiwis at the stand that was next to the apples and bananas.

"Mmm… so many kiwis I can swim in them," Lily stood up to get a better view at the kiwis.

"Don't even try cat," said Gajeel as he packed some kiwis in the bag.

"Haha," a sweat dropped from the cats face. "I was just kidding… Hey put a little more kiwis in that bag."

Gajeel yelled at his cat, "You know how much they cost?" A woman with two children near by hurried her children away while looking back at the crazy man yelling at his cat. Gajeel just stared at her, "now everyone thinks i'm a freak," he says to his cat. Lily meowed in response. "Fine i'll put one more kiwi to make it four." The cat just stared up at him with pleading eyes which made Gajeel put another one in. "Ok lets go cat, what's next?"

"Well before you forget we need some more salmon and fish canned food, and it wouldn't hurt to get me a bed, the one at home is scratchy!"

"We? You don't even use it!"

"Exactly! Off we go." They headed toward the pet supplies which was in the same aisle as the detergents and softeners.

"Ok cat food, cat food, cat food." Gajeel looks at the shelf. "Ah," he spotted the canned food. "Ok pick which one you want." The cat studied the shelf, but something else caught Gajeels eye. He was surprised, out of all stores she was here. Well she does live near here he just didn't expect her to be here early in the morning. He couldn't take her eyes off her.

"Ahem Gajeel! Hey Gajeel." The heavy metal looking man turns around but his mind was still lost in thought. "I was asking you a question. As I was saying should I get the gravy mix or the seafood mix which sounds good?"

Gajeel responded dazed, "Get them all of you want."

Lily saw the state he was in and looked at the woman behind. She was a beauty, blue short hair and pale skin. Lily nodded his head at Gajeel, "I'll give you two privacy." He pats the cans to fall in the cart then jumps off of the cart, "go get em' tiger. I'll go home first." he rounds the corner and disappears.

'Psh go get em tiger. It's not like i'm going to invite her over or anything...' He turned around quickly and saw the blue haired lady put a small bottle of detergent in her basket. He panicked a bit, 'should I say hi or should I wait for her to notice me. What if she turns the other way.' He pretended to look at some toilet paper in front of him. 'What should I say? I can't ignore her… Ugg stop acting like fool, you're the one who introduced yourself to her. Get a grip Gajeel and play it cool.'

"Hey Gajeel! Funny seeing you here." A cheery voice said beside him. He stiffened up, he wasn't sure if it was because of nervousness or excitement. He throws in a random brand of toilet paper in the cart then looks at the woman in front of him.

"Yeah… So what brings you here? Don't you work on saturdays?" He tried playing it off as if he wasn't nervous at all. He stuffed both hands in his pocket and looked down at her.

"Well…" she started fidgeting. "I asked for a few days off, and called in a friend to take my shift at the front desk. I hope she is doing okay," she said concerned looking off to the side.

Over at the library a violet haired lady with the name Laki was at the front desk helping people with what they needed.

"Hello can I check these out?"

"Sure."

A fat middle aged woman came next," excuse me where can I find the cook books?"

"On the first floor."

One after another people came toward the violet haired lady with questions. It was oddly full in the library on a Saturday.

"Excuse me!"

"Hey can you..."

"Where can I..."

"Do you have..."

The violet haired lady was on her toes running from one place to another. "I'll be right back sorry." She exits her work place and finally finds a place to rest. The work was overwhelming for Laki, and she was about quit. 'Honestly how does Levy do it?' She shook her head. Laki leaned against the wall to catch her self before she went out again.

"Ha what am I worried about she can handle herself. Yeah so I came to the store to get some of my necessities. It gets crowded by the afternoon so I came early."

"Yeah I know what you mean." He noded his head agreeing with her, then they started walking. "Are you doing anything today?"

"No nothing in particular. Why?" she gazed up at him.

"Um… Would you like to hang out? Maybe we can have a cup of coffee at my place or something or we can do something else..." 'What the hell am I thinking. Over my place, psh like she would accept... She probably would.' He was kind of nervous on what her reply would be.

"Sure we can go to your place." Her eyes started to sparkle, "and I can try these new cookies." She lifted up a box of golden cookies. "I was about to go buy some, but going to a friends house and drinking coffee is better," she said with a smile.

He was glad Lily told him to get coffee beforehand. But 'friends...' It felt as if he's been shot, his heart started to slow down. 'Well at least we are friends. Right? What do I expect,' he laughed internally. "Yeah." They reached the check out line, "Well ladies first, and you have fewer stuff then I do."

"Ok thanks." They checked out their items then headed out the door. The petite woman carried one bag while Gajeel carried many out the door. Levy turned to Gajeel, "so should I meet you somewhere?"

"Yeah we could meet at the park if you want."

"Then its settled, see you later Gajeel." He nodded his head at her then walked the opposite direction from the parking lot. "Um… Did you not bring a car?"

He stopped in his tracks, "uh no. I came here walking."

"What! But you have so many bags. Do you want a ride?"

"No i'm fine."

"No come on i'll give you ride." she signaled him to come over. He ended up giving in on her request and they went into the blue haired ladies car. They put their groceries in the back seat, and drove off. "I'll drop my goods at home first then we'll go to your place. How's that." Gajeel just nodded at her. They drove off in her sports car convertible to her house.

"So show me how to get to your place." She hopped back in the car and put on her seat belt.

"Well you take the road like your going to work, but drive a little further down. Then you make a left on Saber street. Then a right on Phantom Lord."

"Ok I think I know where it is."

"Ok cool." They drove off to Gajeels house. The heavy metal looking man leaned back against the chair feeling the cool morning breeze hitting against his face. His right arm was hanging out the window while the other hand rested on his lap.

"I hope you don't mind the roof down, I just love feeling the wind against me it makes me feel free," she says while she stares straight in front of her.

He shrugged his shoulders, "It's ok." She gave him a warm smile.

Levy couldn't help but feel anxious about going to Gajeels house for the first time. She was imagining how his place might look. 'Maybe there was hard wood floors like her house and carpet, or maybe he had all carpet. What if his furniture is all dark and it looks like a cave when you walk in or...or maybe it's a bit spacious where he has small furniture. What if he lives in an apartment and not a house maybe...'

"Turn left here!" Levy broke from her thoughts.

"Right."

"Yeah then turn right three blocks down," he points in the direction. The blue haired lady nods her head. They finally reach Phantom Lord, the houses her tightly packed together, some had stairs and some didn't. "My house is on the next block at the corner." Now that she thinks about it, this was Juvias old neighborhood when growing up. She had come here a few times with Lucy when she had moved here.

"Man this neighborhood has really changed a lot since then," Levy said under her breath.

"Huh? You said something?"

"Oh nothing it's just that…"

"You can park in front," he points. "Sorry what?" She looks at the house the heavy metal looking man lived at, then parks in the space in front. She was surprised to see his house, she wasn't expecting any of this at all. A small lawn half green half yellow with a cement walkway cutting down the middle leading in to a two story house, and a wooden fence covered a small yard in the back. It's like the place never changed except for the untreated grass. "Um were you going to say something…"

She blinked a couple times to snap back to reality, " well it was just that I had been here when I was younger."

"Really?"

"Yeah Because Juvia used to live here. I only came a couple of times with Lucy. We used to go to her house or the park." His eyes opened wide with surprise, 'you gotta be shitting me! She's the little emo girl that used to hang with Juvia and the loud mouth. I'm guessing the loud mouth is blonde. Wow small world.'

He fixed his composure, "oh…"

"Yeah it just brings back memories." They get out the car and Gajeel gets his groceries then heads to the front door.

"Your house is bigger then I was expecting," she said while holding the cookies behind her back.

"Na, it's not that big there are two separate houses one on top and the one on the bottom. Juvia lived here so she rented me the one on top back in high school. And now the whole place is mine." He opened the door to his home, it had pretty much the same furniture but was arranged differently. "Yeah so make yourself at home," he hung his keys on the key chain. "You know…"

"Aww kitty!" the blue haired lady screeched. Gajeel turned around and shook his head, he had forgotten she liked cats. She picked up the kitty and petted it, then took him to the couch. "Aw he so cute and soft! Wait it's a he right?" she looks up at Gajeel who was still standing by the door.

"Yeah, his name is Lily," he walked toward the couch.

"Aw Lily. So cute," she hugged it. Gajeel saw the smirk on the cats face. 'Damn cat!' he looks off to the side. 'I guess I'll go get the coffee.'

He puts the bags on the kitchen table and puts the groceries way. 'Why the hell do I have so much canned food.' He picked out one after another, 'and there all cat food.' He shook his head 'that damn cat!' He put the food in the drawer, then put hot water in the pot. 'I guess I'll go see what's up.'

He returns back to the living room. He sees the blue haired lady still petting his cat. "You like cats huh?" He asked while sitting on the love seat.

"Um yeah there so cute."

"I'm suprized you don't have a cat," he leaned back in his chair.

"Yeah I don't know, I just...allergies?" she sighed.

"Oh that sucks," Gajeel responded. But by the tone of her voice he knew something was up. But it wasn't his place to pry open. The kettle began to whistle. He got up from the couch and headed to the kitchen. He got the coffee ready and put it on the tray with sugar and cream. He headed back to the living room, "I brought sugar and cream so you can put to your likening.

"Oh thanks," she placed Lily to the side. She reached for the cookies to open the bag. Gajeel placed the tray on the coffee table. He saw Levy struggling to open the packet of cookies. "Um you need help with that?" He pointed to bag then scratched his head.

She shook her head, "nope I got it!" He sat down next to her and watch her struggle. 'Why isn't it opening.' She made a funny face while she pulled bag apart. 'Pop!' Three cookies flew out the bag and on to the floor. "Oh no I'm so sorry." She was about to reach for them, but the cat was fast. He picked them all up and put them on his new bed Gajeel finally got him.

Gajeel couldn't contain his laugh watching the darn cat an the blue haired lady. Levy nervously laughed then settled down, "um...are you sure you should let him eat those?"

"Don't wary it's just a few cookies," he chuckled. Honestly he knew that cat wasn't normal and could eat about anything. But she didn't know that. She gave him a pouty face. He cringed at her cuteness at the moment. 'Don't do this to me.' He swallowed hard.

"You shouldn't just let your cat eat anything."

The heavy metal looking man scratched his head, "few cookies won't hurt. Think of it as a treat."

She shrugged it off, 'ok what ever," and picked up her coffee mug and added sugar to her liking then took a sip. "Mmm tastes good." She gave him a smile. He threw one back which was odd for the heavily metal looking man, because he rarely smiled. They both severed the moment while drinking coffee and eating some good quality name brand cookies.

"Yeah and then Natsu was raging mad. But he didn't know it was all a joke till later. Then he chased Gray all around the school for making him feel like a fool."

"He is a fool. A clown with his own circus." Levy laughed hard at that statement. She didn't agree or denied it.

"Achoo!"

"Natsu are you catching a cold?" Asked Lucy who was beside him.

He layed down his guitar, "I don't think so." He flicked his nose.

Gray yelled across the room. "Idiots don't catch colds."

"Shut up! Is that your excuse for never catching a cold?"

"No it's because this little woman here takes care of me." He brings an arm around Juvia.

"Gr-Gray!"

Gajeel and Levy kept telling stories about their friends. Levy couldn't contain herself because of Gajeels commentary. She threw her head back and clutched her stomach. "I can't breathe."

"Gihihi." Gajeel never seen her like this she was so relaxed and it looked like she was having fun since ages. Gajeel soon spotted a shine on her earlobe. It was the deep blue earrings he gave her. It was pretty simple but it complimented her vary well.

Levy spot him staring at her, "what's wrong."

"Oh um it's just..." He scratched his head. " Those earrings.

"Oh." She touched her ears then looked up at him. "Thanks for the presents. I really love them," she smiled at him.

"That's good because they look good on you." This caught Levy by surprise she wasn't quite expecting that. She kind of froze in thought. "You want some water? I sure want some. " She nodded. Gajeel got up and when to the kitchen. Lily who was sitting between them followed after.

"Gajeel."

"What do you want cat." He poured water in two glass cups.

"Oh nothing. Just wondering, are you going to make your move?"

Gajeel paused then picked up both glasses of water and started walking, "what if I am."

The cat yawned, "don't screw this one up. She's nice."

Gajeel knew that already he just had to pick a good moment.

He handed Levy a glass of water and he settled his down on the coffee table. He picked up the coffee cups and put them on the tray and went back to the kitchen, then came back.

"Thanks for inviting me over this was fun."

"Don't sweat it." The heavy metal looking man was heading toward the couch, but soon tripped on something fuzzy and small. He couldn't keep his balance and fell forward and almost landed on top of the blue haired lady. He caught him self but his face was inches away from landing her a kiss. They were both in shock and they stared at each other. Gajeel fixed him self and sat back on the couch. "Sorry. Damn cat." He sat all the way on the other side of the couch leaning on the arm rest. "TV?" He switched on the Tv.

Levy couldn't help but giggle, he was cute and shy like a little boy. Looks can be deceiving. "Sure." The black cat jumped on Levy's lap and curled up. She started to pet him.

"Ugg where's Levy she's never out all day." It was three thirty and Levy wasn't home yet. Her orange haired friend was antsy outside her door. 'Ok I'll wait a little while longer.' He clutched a bouquet of roses, and stared at his watched.

Ok so I always think of cats being sassy or bossy. So that's what happened with Lily. I've been wanting to write Levy going to Gajeels house for a while and this is what I came up with. Please review to help me become a better writer, it really does help a lot. Until next time.
