Hi readers!
It's been over 7 years since I started writing Fanfiction for Fifty Shades and it truly has been a ride. I first picked up writing when I was 10, chubby and often bullied - I had no friends in this world, so I started creating my own. I wrote cute short novels by hand, fantasizing about Jesse McCartney and Sky from Winx Club.
But it was here, on Fanfiction, did I truly learn the responsibility that comes with writing. At seventeen, I published my first chapter just because I wanted to join a community of writers. Never would I have expected to gain such great support from all of you: the good reviews and the bad, I treasured them all. I took each and every one of those reviews and constantly changed my writing. My attitude towards my writing shifted towards pride for my craft, and I am so grateful that each and everyone of you had a part to play.
I first abandoned writing Fifty Shades fanfiction simply because the work never felt like it was truly mine. I borrowed the characters, borrowed the story line, borrowed the world. I tried my hand writing my own fiction, young adult romance (of course), and it grew so personal that I was not ready to share it. Through college, I turned to writing again, simply because I felt out of place in a foreign world. I took a fiction writing class that made me appreciate having access too all your reviews.
Recently, I graduated in June from Brown University. No, I did not do Literary Arts - I'm a Political Science major. While I am proud to announce that I have a book that's 50% completed, I'm even prouder to say that I would like to rework all my chapters that I have already written on Fanfiction. I was reading through them recently, and I have to say, I'm slightly embarrassed of my writing. With 7 years in my wind, I thought I'd try to write them all over and focus on character development and world building. However, I dislike the interface of Fanfiction and will be shifting to Wattpad (I don't know if Wattpad is censored here, so i'm going to put it like this too W.A.T.T.P.A.D). You can find me on there under 7Quandary - because i'm always in a dilemma but filled with an odd sense of peace. So watch that space.
Beyond Fifty Shades Fanfiction, I would also like to post my own work under 7Quandary. I've just posted the first chapter on there today under The Last Generation, which is a working title. But once again, I would love to tap into your expertise: Maybe sometime you could check out my own work and give me the same valuable feedback you have given me over these past few years. I truly appreciate each and everyone of them, and I appreciate you.
