Joey arrived at the park in about two minutes, as vampires is faster than humans, but they are not overly fast as they make them in movies they simply run a little faster.
He sniffed in the air, it was thick with blood. Joey got worried as that didn't mean good news, and if his sister was the one causing it would they both get in to trouble. He needed to find her before it was too late.
He ran in normal speed around the park looking for her, as there were still people around in the park like late night dates and old people taking a walk. He greeted a few that seemed to know him but paid the humans no other mind as he needed to find his sister.
He followed the scent of blood and came towards a part of the par with trees that grew so close it was hard to look far in the area.
He took a deep breath before walking inside and following the scent that soon almost became too much to bear, he had early noticed the blood scent couldn't be from a human as it was too thick and not as sweet or bitter as a human is.
"Harriet?" he asked as he found a clearing, it was small but it let slight moon light inside and over a horrible scene.
Harriet sat against a tree and breathed heavily while holding a hand over her left arm that was bleeding from wounds that looked like claws. Her hair was messy and around her did fur and blood stains cover the ground in a sign of obvious battle.
"Harriet!" he said in alarm, making her look up with surprise before smiling bitterly and look away.
"I'm sorry, Joey." She whispered and leaned her head back against the tree trunk and look up at the moon; Joey paid her no mind as he hurried over and knelt beside his sister.
"What in the world happened?" did he demand a he looked over the wound that looked awfully familiar. He narrowed his eyes and gasped as a flash of an image of him fighting a large wolf popped up before his eyes. He snapped his head up and met his sister's gaze as his memory told him where they were and what this wound was made of.
"Shape-shifter…" he whispered and she chuckled and nodded. He glared at her and poked her wound, making her hiss in pain.
"What are you doing on their territory?" he hissed and she glared at him as if the answer was obviously.
"Killing off some steam. You know that I have problems with my anger, you would have remembered that even if you lost your memories hundred times in a row!" she said accusingly before snapping her head away to avoid looking at her brothers hurt face.
"Tell me what I have forgotten about it…" he asked in a whisper as he felt responsible for this.
"You always followed me when I ran off. You fought with me until I calmed down; you saved me once when I came here in my anger state." She told him with a smile of pure happiness, something that was unusual for her. "But then you found that boy." She spit out the word boy like it tasted bad in her mouth pronouncing it. "You found your mate and forgot even more. You didn't even pay attention!" she accused and glared at him while a furious tear rolled down her cheek. "I have waited and looked for my mate for over two hundred years! And here you come after only three and find him like it is nothing!" she raised her voice and let the tears run down her cheeks and Joey looked down and hid his eyes with his bangs and whispered: "Stop…"
"Why do everything have to do with you? Why are you so fucking special? I have fought my whole life to just get a 'good job' from mom, but you are some kind of angel that she think is the most special in the world!" she shouted at his face.
"Please stop…" Joey whispered a little higher this time, but Harriet would have none of it.
"I have had enough! If you are so damn special go and live with your mate and save the world or whatever mom thinks you are made to do! I hate you!" Harriet screamed.
Joey looked up shocked at his sister's words, tears formed in his eyes.
Harriet froze when she registered what she had said and shook her head weakly; she smiled and reached for Joey's cheek with her unharmed arm. "H-hey… I didn't mean it… I... Let's… Just go home and-" "No." Joey interrupted her and she froze with her hand just about an inch from his cheek and Joey glared at her and let the tears spill.
"No! If you want me to go I will!" he said and stood and ran while she cried after him to stop and come back, but Joey simply held his hands over his ears and blocked her out.
He ran the fastest he could; he just needed to get away from all this.
He knew she didn't mean it and that her anger fit had yet to calm down, but it hurt a lot to hear her say that. Harriet was one of the closest he had in his family, they always talked about each other's problems and he remembered slightly how he followed her here another time and helped her get away.
A flash of her smiling and calling his name flashed in his head and he shook his head, trying to get it out as he didn't want to think of her now.
He slowed down and was soon standing still.
He fell to his knees and put his arm over his eyes and dried his tears and sniffed once before looking around where he really was.
He seemed to have memories of this place, it was very familiar.
It was an alley sort of, that led to a large warehouse in a fading blue color. He felt the scent of dog and humans here, but not like there lived humans and dogs here. More like there was humans and dogs combined here.
Werewolves.
His mind whispered to him, taking him by surprise.
There is a difference between shape-shifters and werewolves.
Shape-shifters are maniacs and cold blooded murders; they kill anything and everything in their way of reaching whatever they are after. They also have a bad habit of cornering lonely vampires and beat them up and toy with their fears and kill them slowly.
Shape-shifters also can take the shape of any animal, cat, dog, wolf, crow is the most usual but there have been cases with rabbits and horses.
Werewolves on the other hand only turn by the full moon, and in to one thing only: wolves. Large hairy wolves with long claws and sharp knife-like fangs. But no matter how you look at them are they harmless unless provoked or hurt, they are actually like puppies the whole bunch and just seek attention and peace and usually only kill to survive.
Werewolves is loyal company for vampires and there have been cases where a vampire and a werewolf have gone in to some sort of bound where they have this kind of master and pet role. The vampire feed the werewolf and act like it's protector in human shape, and in return does the werewolf protect the human when turned wolf.
Joey got a flash of a pack of werewolves that his memories told him lived here in this warehouse.
He stood carefully and looked around, nothing was off outside but he could hear voices from the inside. And if his memories where correct where they his friends and would help him, but he wasn't so sure.
He slowly walked closer, his curiosity taking over totally as he walked over to a door and knocked. The sound stopped instantly inside and they hushed each other carefully before steps could be heard coming towards the door.
Joey prepared himself for the worst, and that meant running away from danger as he was in no state of fighting.
He heard the person on the other side stop just behind the door and opened it carefully and looked out.
And Joey came face to face with a werewolf.
