Chapter 6- Flashback baby.

Little did the small village know but the outside world was falling into chaos's hand. The seasons were disobeying Mother Nature, they were missing and if they did show it was only to cause mayhem. Tornados, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, and water sprouts were just the few disasters happening. It seems the plates were shifting because volcanos were erupting and scientist were worried that the sky could be covered with ash. The crazy weather was destroying the planet, if something was too hot a cool fall wind would blow, not allowing any crops to grow. Trees died to early as plants bloomed to late. Migrating birds were confused and often died as the earth's magnetic field was wonky, whales breached the beaches as they got lost from the climate change, and many animals were afraid and died from anxiety. The humans were calling it global warming but even that wasn't an answer for why certain electronic devices were not working. Many places got static, it was starting to make the humans suspicious.

The Guardians were pulling out their hair and stress was building up. Trying to stop what was going on added to Jack missing was not helping. Then there was also Pitch who had been quiet the whole three months, not even talking to make snide remarks. It truly was a bit disconcerting, the shadow king was not acting like himself. The Guardians still had not spoken of what had happen in the cave, all too stressed and there never was a good time. If the Guardians were not getting up for their upcoming holiday, which was Christmas, they were trying to help Tooth collect teeth seeing as she was exhausted. They all were. If their time not doing their jobs it was trying to stop the disturbances, there was also the fact Man in the Moon had been particularly quiet. A bit scary. Sandy's good friend, a starling, also said he hadn't seen Man in the Moon. A starling was a star that had fallen to earth but still was able to retain their connection to the night sky, they were like children of the moon. So if the starling couldn't get in contact with her 'father' then something was seriously going on.

••••|The tiny village, June 25th, early morning|••••

Johka breathed out slowly, her hips were killing her. She hated this form but it wasn't like she had a choice, she hadn't had the right parts to carry a baby but now her child was safe in her womb. Wow, even that word was strange. The snowy white haired woman breathed out once more and set about finishing her cookies. The sweet smell of lemons and mint rolled in her kitchen. The white tiles spotless, except for where the bowl of batter was sitting innocently. There was a bit of a mess around there but all things considered she had kept the kitchen clean. Johka wished she could sit but the cookies needed her moving about as did the pie that was currently baking. It was MarryWet's 1st birthday and her fairy parents wanted to throw their tiny daughter the best 1st birthday. Everyone was invited to the party, the family had a large home seeing as the parents were adults. Human seemed to have a misconception of fairies, when a fairy was a baby that was when they were super tiny. However when they reached adulthood they grew to about human size but could still shrink down to baby fairy size. The ones that always remained small were the Faries, a distant cousins to fairies.

Johka had to hold a sigh when she thought of what Bunny would have said if he could see her now. He probably would be howling with laughter and hopping all over, Tooth would probably want to see if her teeth remained the same as when she was Jack. She was sure North would give him another speech about his core and who he was, though it would be a joke. Sandy...sandy would just be Sandy. Pitch- Johka cut those thoughts off. No! She had come to terms weeks ago that he would just be trying to get her child to use against them. Though she had to wonder how he even knew where she had been. Johka guessed he must have followed the Guardians secretly.
Beeping sounded in the kitchen, the pie was done! Grabbing oven mitts, Johka gingerly took the pan out and placed it on the stove. It was amazing that all the houses ran on magic. Lemon and mint rolled even stronger though the air and Johka had to drink in the smell seeing as it was something that didn't make her have nausea. She found that apples, oranges, and every fruit other than pears and lemons made her sick. Vegetables though seemed to agree with her and most meats made her mouth water. Though if she smelled the Hule goose fried it made her need to run to the powder room.

Placing some plastic wrap, it was fascinating to know her trash would just get eaten by the junk trolls who ate anything, Johka started to shape the cookies and place them on the pan. Johka made sure to make ponies and princess shape things. MerryWet would love them. While Johka had only been part of the community for a short while she had really fallen in love with the place and it's friendly community. It made her feel...safe. Something that THEY certainly were not able to do, not with HIM. The guardians also made her feel safe but she always felt like she was taking advantage of them.

Placing the cookies in the oven, the whitenett started to clean the kitchen. Dishes were washed, dried, and put away. This left her with 30 minutes of free time. Johka finally sat down and almost moaned in relief when the pain was relieved. A dainty hand stroked her barely there bulge.

"This time you will survive. You will not be like the others. I promise baby." The words were whispered and Johka had a small smile on her lips. It was a bit sad, the smile was there but her eyes had a faraway look. 2

It hurt so damn much. Another sharp jab at her stomach made the winter spirit double over. It felt like rocks were grinding together in her stomach and the sharp edges were cutting everything out. She cried, the cold tears down her cheeks. She didn't want to lose this one either, it didn't matter the way it was conceived. Warmth between her legs made Johka cry out in despair, looking she saw that the panties were soaked with blood, her blood.

The baby. No. Johka clutched her stomach, she was 16 week and yesterday she had felt it move. Master had not been happy, he had beat Johka. He hated anything that had to do with her child, he always said she was lucky he was nice enough to let her carry the baby. But it was always his fault she lost the baby, if it wasn't the beatings it was the forced pleasure that her body had to give him. Master had said it was her fault for being so needy. The winter spirit cried out loudly as her stomach seemed to jerk and spasm.

"Jo-" the voice stopped and she looked up to find her sister October.

"H-help." Jonah passed out after that.

•••••|end flashback|••••

The beeping of the timer startled Johka out of her flashback and she noticed little bloody crescent marks on her palm. Rushing to the sink, she hurried and cleaned the cuts before drying her hands and grabbing the cookies with the oven mitts. They came out perfectly, just like her baby would.
