I blushed and started to put my finger to my lip. It is still hard to imagine that I will be dating all of them. "None of that Trouble, no need to be nervous. I am only bringing it up now, because I am pretty sure that you will want to dress to impress on these dates and I still don't fully trust you to pick out the right outfits on your own."
"Oh, right. I was already trying to think of what I would wear when I go out with Luke. But you don't have to help me Meanie, I'll pick something out that you have already matched for me."
"Oy fuck no. You can't just go and wear the first thing you pick out of the closet. These are your first dates. We will need to go through your clothes again so I can remember what you have. I am not sure where the other guys are taking you, but once I find out I can make sure you are dressed appropriately…"
I had to cut him off mid-sentence "Meanie, do you really want to dress me for dates with the other guys. I am still a little unsure about how this will all work and if it will work, but I don't want you to feel uncomfortable."
Gabe chopped me on the back of the head with his other hand. "Shut up Trouble, of course I want to help you. I agreed with this idea, just like all of the other guys. I am not going to pretend like you are not dating them too, so I might as well help you. Plus it means I will get to spend some extra time with you." With that he squeezed my hand and gave me a huge smile.
"Ok. I would really like the help. Mr. Blackbourne told me that everyone agreed to this, but I am still nervous that I will mess up or someone will change his mind."
"Oh Trouble…Sang. There is no way you will mess this up, if anything we will make it harder for you, but we are going to all try to make this easy and as normal as possible for you. We all just want you to be happy and if this is what makes you happy you better believe we are going to do it."
We made it to Kota's door, but Gabe stopped me as I brought my hand up to knock. "Whatever you need Trouble, just ask me, ask any of us. And don't forget to tell me what dates you have coming up, maybe we will even go shopping for new outfits. It's always best to have a new outfit for a date." His blue eyes sparkled and he pushed open the door and ushered me inside. Just as I was about to turn the handle to Kota's room the door swung open. Kota was standing there, in a green polo shirt and faded jeans. "Hi!"
-Kota's POV-
What the hell, why did I squeak it out. It's not like it is my first time saying hi to Sang. It sure feels like it though.
"Thanks Gabe, if you and Luke finish at the diner early you should come over and work on your projects too."
Gabe smiled and winked at me over Sang's head. Jerk, he knows I am nervous. Luke had sent out a text saying that he asked Sang out for next week. That meant it was my turn. I hated the idea that we were doing it this way, waiting our turn, texting everyone when we do ask her. But Gabe was right, how else would we do it, if we didn't organize it some way than everyone would be fighting to see Sang so they could ask her out first.
"Remember what I said Trouble." And with that he headed back down the stairs. I heard the front door open and close as Sang settled into one of the beanbag chairs.
I brought the other chair over next to hers and sat down, our knees touching. "Do you know what book you want to base your assignment on yet Sang?"
"No, I am not reading anything right now. We just finished Dracula, so I don't think we can do it on that since our last assignment was based on that book. What about Lord of the Flies? I haven't read it in a while but I am sure I could get through it quickly and do the assignment."
"That's a good idea. I think I have a copy on my bookshelf you can borrow." She started to stand up but I held her in place by placing my hand on her knee. She looked at me, confused. "I wanted to ask you something first though."
-Sang's POV-
O my, Kota looks so nervous. I have seen him like this before, mostly when his mom is trying to get him to open up about our "relationship".
"Sang, I want you to know that I will never regret sending Max to you that night. I am sorry he hurt you, of course, but I can't imagine not meeting you that night. I still wish I could have kept you to myself just a little longer, but I see the way you have opened up my brothers, you awakened something in us and I don't know if I can ever thank you enough."
"O Kota, I never imagined you would be thanking me. I seem to cause trouble when you are all already busy with Academy stuff."
"We wanted to help you, so please don't ever think you are a burden. You are the opposite. Yes, we have more to do now, more to watch for, but we have more to live for now too. What I am trying to say is I really want this to work. Sang will you please go out with me?" He kept one hand on my knee while the other hand pushed up his glasses. He rubbed his hand on his pants, as if he wasn't sure what to do with it. Even though I knew that he would ask me eventually, it was still exciting and surreal that he was asking me just after Luke did.
"Of course Kota. Of course I want to go out with you. What do you want to do?"
"A few weeks ago, Mr. Blackbourne mentioned that you haven't been downtown a lot to see what Charleston has to offer. There is an amazing museum – The Charleston Museum. I can never get any of the other guys to go with me, sometimes Mr. Blackbourne will go with me to a lecture, but that doesn't happen a lot. I thought it might be something you would enjoy. I thought we could go together, if you wanted to."
I didn't even know Charleston had a museum. I went to a museum in Illinois once, with school. It was wonderful and I remember wishing I could stay there instead of going back home. "A museum sounds like a lot of fun. When could we go?"
"O, um, are you free tomorrow?" Did Kota just ask me about my schedule? I am pretty sure he knows my schedule better than me. I looked at him a little confused, was I free tomorrow?
-Kota's POV-
Why is she looking at me like that? "What?"
"Uh, Kota. You practically make our schedules. I don't know if I am free tomorrow, but I am sure you do."
Of course I know she is free, but I didn't want her to think I was making her go with me tomorrow. "O, right. Well yes, you were going to have a quiet day hanging out with Nathan and me." She is going to think I am an idiot. She smiled and let out the most beautiful giggle.
"Then yes Kota, I am free tomorrow. Is the museum open on Sundays?"
"Yes, for a few hours. I figured we could go to the museum after lunch."
"Ok, then we could still spend some time with Nathan in the morning right?" Of course she would think about leaving Nathan alone. I should be jealous that she is thinking of Nathan when talking about our date, but I know it is just because she doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings and that is one of the reasons I want to be with her.
"Great, than tomorrow after lunch it is." I leaned over to rub my nose against hers, but once my forehead touched hers I didn't want to move. She let you a breath, whispering "I can't wait." I pulled away keeping my eyes locked with hers. "We should, um, probably do that homework now." What the hell Kota, really? Why would I bring up homework now?
"Right! I'll go look for the book!" And with that, she popped out of the chair and practically ran over to the bookshelf. I am totally smooth.
