Disclaimer - I do not own Harry Potter.
Note - Well, I decided it was time we had a little outtake about Robbie. There might be another, because there's a bit more to Robbie than this. But we'll see how it goes. Also, if you find some of his feelings a bit confusing, don't worry. He's always confused, haha. Anyways, read, enjoy, and let me know what you think.
Slytherin's Potter: The Outtakes
Robert Pritchard: Lost and Confused
Date: May, 2027
Robert: Seventh Year
Robert "Robbie" Pritchard sometimes felt a bit lost in life. He sometimes felt like no one really understood him. Because no one understood that, even though he was Head Boy, Quidditch captain, one leader of JB, and apparently popular, he didn't know what he wanted from life. He didn't even know what he wanted to do for a job! He sometimes envied his older siblings. They'd all known what they'd wanted to an extent, while he had nothing.
"You just worry about it too much," Cade Waters, Robbie's friend and fellow seventh year, commented. "Just relax and let things happen naturally."
"We're graduating this year. In a month," Robbie stressed. "Doesn't that concern you?"
"Nah. I like letting life just happen," Cade said with a lazy grin. Because that's what Cade was sometimes. Lazy. But he was also just very laid-back. Nothing ever bothered Cade. It was almost impossible to make him angry, or even really excited.
"Hi, Robbie," Elisa Sanders greeted flirtatiously near his ear before sitting down next to him on the common room couch. Ever since Alec had dumped her, for his sister, she'd been attempting to latch onto him. Robbie was never sure how to politely brush her off.
"Hi, Elisa," Robbie greeted simply as reached forward for his previously closed textbook. Perhaps if he pretended to study, she'd leave from boredom.
"What are you boys up to?" Elisa asked, still in that same tone.
"Preparing for an orgy, cupcake," Cade said indifferently, but grinned as her offended gasp. If Cade was good at anything, it was offending Elisa Sanders. He always seemed to know what to say to get her to leave.
"That's disgusting," Elisa grumbled. But then she turned back to Robbie. "So, Rob, what are you doing later?"
"Preparing for tomorrow's JB meeting. I'm tutoring tomorrow night," Robbie said easily, hoping to sway her from bothering him.
"I'm not surprised. You're so smart," Elisa complimented.
"Not really," Robbie retorted dryly.
"Hey, cupcake," Cade addressed, using her hated nickname, "how about me and you find a place for a good one timer? So we don't bother Robbie by doing it in front of him?"
Elisa practically sneered at him. "You're disgusting, Cade Waters," she stated. She got up, and with an attempt at giving a seductive goodbye to Robbie, she left them alone.
Robbie looked at Cade. "Thanks, man. I owe you."
"No problem. I enjoy doing it," Cade laughed.
"Did you hear the news?" Alec asked Robbie as he joined him and Marsha at the breakfast table. He quickly kissed Marsha, which Robbie ignored.
"What news?" Robbie asked with a grumble. While he liked Alec, he still did not like the idea of his little sister dating anybody. Even though Alec was better than Kirke.
"About Lily and Scor?" Alec hinted.
"That's not important, Alec!" Marsha said quickly.
Robbie shifted uncomfortably and sighed. Everyone always tiptoed around any topic concerning Lily around him. He appreciated it at first, because his feelings were still a bit . . . broken when it came to her. But he couldn't let life stop because of his feelings. "No, it's ok, Marsha. What's the news?" he asked.
Alec looked a bit sheepish at having brought up what could have possibly been a touchy subject. "Well, I just got word from Brandon that she's pregnant. Both she and Scor are thrilled. The baby's due in the fall, I guess," he explained.
Marsha smiled happily. "Oh, that's great! Did he say how far along she was?"
While Alec shook his head and explained the letter to her, Robbie found himself getting lost in his thoughts. Lily . . . she was having a baby. Robbie rubbed at his eyes. A sharp and stinging pang ran through his chest, but he pushed it away. He couldn't let himself be hurt just because Lily was going on with her life. He should just be happy that she was happy. He knew that. And he accepted that Scorpius was the one she loved, and that he was just a friend. But . . . that didn't always matter.
Robbie pushed the food on his plate around. How did you get over somebody? How did you ignore your feelings for them? He looked at his sister and friend, who were playfully flirting. Marsha had ignored her feelings by going out with other boys. Did that work? Before the fight between her and Alec last year, it had seemed to do the trick for her. Perhaps he needed to find someone else . . . someone who was nothing like Lily. But who?
Robbie felt a bit awkward as he hesitantly walked toward the table in the back of their common room. There sat the girls in his year. He'd never really spoken or spent a lot of time with any of them. Sure, he saw some of them at the big gathering of old Slytherin families, but not more than that. They all had separate lives. So now . . . this was weird.
Robbie cleared his throat as he came to the table. "Um, hello, girls," he greeted almost shyly.
While most of the girls were just friendly, Elisa almost pounced. "Hi, Robbie. What are you doing here?"
Robbie tried to relax himself. His friends had told him to play it cool with girls. He was sure he could do that. Or at least fake it. So he grabbed a nearby chair, and pulled it over to the table. "Oh, I just thought I'd come talk to the prettier girls of Slytherin. I feel like I don't do that often enough." He immediately felt stupid, but tried to keep it from showing.
While some of the other girls all blushed a bit, Elisa was almost like a predator. "Well we're honored."
Robbie looked at Jo Nott. She'd always been a nice girl with a unique personality. And she was kind of cute. "So, Jojo, how's your year been." He used her common nickname, hoping to sound friendly and casual.
Jo shrugged. "Better than expected, considering the exams we take next month."
"Yeah, those will be hell," Robbie agreed.
"What about your year, Rob?" Elisa asked eagerly.
Robbie tapped his fingers on the table quietly. "Busy, I guess. Sometimes feels like I don't have a lot of free time," he joked weakly.
"Maybe you should stop following your sister on dates at Hogsmeade," Emily Montague teased with an honest smile. "You might have more free time then."
Robbie rolled his eyes. "Ha, ha. But with Quidditch, JB, and being Head Boy, I'm still going to be busy."
"How many Quidditch matches are left?" Eve Urquhart asked curiously.
"Two. We have one against Hufflepuff next week," Robbie answered.
"Our chances of beating them?" Eve questioned.
Robbie grinned. "It'll be easy, I promise. The team's ready."
"Well under your leadership, how could they not be?" Elisa flirted mildly.
But Robbie ignored her tone. Actually . . . he liked this. Having never stopped to really talk with these girls, partly because he was a little intimidated to do it alone, he enjoyed it. They all seemed nice, and sincere with him.
"So are you girls coming to the game?" he asked.
"Of course!" Eve persisted.
"I wouldn't miss it," Elisa agreed.
"I'm usually up for anything that includes a party afterwards," Emily laughed.
"So, Robbie," Jo addressed, "what are you doing on our last visit to Hogsmeade?"
Robbie shrugged. "I dunno. I'm not a person who likes looking that far ahead . . . even if it is only a few weeks."
"Well we're thinking of all going to The Hog's Head, so you're welcome to join us," Jo offered with a tentative smile.
"I might just hang back," Elisa commented, almost casually. "So if you decide to just stay back, I'll be here."
Robbie nodded a little. "Yeah, ok. Hog's Head. That would probably be cool."
"Hey, Rob!" Jake Sheen, a fellow seventh year, called to him from across the room. Cade was standing with him, looking relaxed as always.
Robbie stood up. "Well, I'll see you girls around."
"Ok. Let us know if you want to join us at Hogsmeade," Jo reminded.
He smiled. "Yeah, I'll think about it." Robbie walked over to his friends, his insides shaking a little bit.
Jake clapped a hand on his shoulder. "So, man, how did it go?"
"I'm too nervous to do that again," Robbie declared. "I mean . . . I've never even been with a girl! I've never kissed one!"
"Well if it's experience you're wanting," Cade commented as they walked up the stairs to their dorm, "then you know who to talk to. Someone who could easily be a one time thing."
Robbie did know who he was talking about, and he hesitated. "I . . . I couldn't do that."
"There would be nothing to be shy about," Jake agreed mildly as they walked in. "She'd probably even find your inexperienced and shy ways cute. If you really want to get some experience, and your mind and heart away from Lily . . . then I'd go for it."
"You wouldn't be the first," Cade pointed out with a grin. "Just do it. She's wanted it for like a month now, and probably longer."
An unknown feeling racked through Robbie as he tried to catch his breath and calm himself. He'd done it. He, Robbie Pritchard, was no longer . . . no longer a virgin. He'd had his first kiss and his first time . . . well probably all other firsts, in just this half hour. Apparently, he was now what other guys would call a man. But . . . he didn't feel like a man. He didn't feel different at all. Robbie felt like he always did. Confused . . . along with this other new and weird feeling that he couldn't quite identify.
A soft hand ran down his lower back, the fingers teasingly touching his skin. "Robbie, why don't you lay down and relax?" Elisa murmured softly and seductively.
Robbie didn't turn to look at her. That feeling welled up stronger at the sound of her voice. It almost choked him. So instead of doing what she suggested, Robbie kicked away the sheet around from his legs, and got up. Then he quickly began to dress again.
"Robbie, what are you doing?" Elisa asked as she wrapped the sheet around her form.
Robbie still didn't look at her. "I need to take a run, or a walk, or something," he said vaguely as he slipped into a pair of loose shorts to run in.
"Robbie, sweetie, if you're worried that you did something wrong, then don't be. You did nothing wrong," Elisa tried to convince him, her voice tempting.
But Robbie just put on a muscle shirt, something comfortable to run in. "I just need to run," he stated. "Go ahead and stay if you want. Or go, it doesn't matter." Then he slipped on his shoes and practically ran out the door, which quickly slammed shut behind him.
Robbie walked through the dungeon lost in thought. He had just had sex with Elisa Sanders. He'd had his first time with her, and it was obviously not her first. And maybe he was thinking differently from other guys, but he wasn't worried that he didn't satisfy her, or that she didn't like it. All he could think about was how he now felt.
Robbie would admit that part of him had hoped that having sex would make him feel different. Better. Like he could get on with his life, not be shy around other girls, and move on from his feelings toward Lily. He'd hoped for that, but it apparently wasn't happening.
Because Lily was still in his thoughts. Part of him was wondering what she'd say if she knew what he'd done. And knowing her, she'd probably be understanding, and wouldn't at all judge him. But he was judging himself. Because this new feeling . . . it was consuming the rest of his thoughts, and it made him uneasy. What was this?
"Hey, Robbie," Jo Nott greeted him, just as he was getting ready to step outside.
Robbie looked at her, and still felt that urge to go out and run. "Oh, hey, Jo."
Jo smiled at him as she came to stand next to him. "Going for a run or something?" she asked, looking over his clothes.
Robbie did too before looking at her again. "How did you know?"
Jo laughed. "Because I see you out running every day, and you always where clothes like that."
Robbie thought about that. It was true. He was usually out running at least once a day. But it was usually early in the morning. "You're up that early?"
Jo blushed the tiniest bit, which for her was a lot. Usually Jo was never embarrassed about anything. She had a lot of sass and wit to her, for as long as Robbie had known her. "Yeah. I always thought that maybe if I got up that early to watch you run, then maybe I'd have the guts to actually talk to you," she admitted.
Robbie scowled a little. "Talk to me? About what? I mean, you could come up and talk to me any time. I don't mind. Is it about JB?" he asked.
Jo laughed lightly. "You're a bit oblivious with these things, aren't you?"
He still scowled with confusion. "With what things?"
Jo took in a deep breath, then spoke. "I watched you, and wanted to talk to you, because I like you, Robbie," she stated.
Robbie's eyes shot open wide with shock. "You . . . you like . . . me?" he asked, pointing at himself.
Jo nodded. "Yes. I like you."
Robbie ran his hand through his hair a couple of time. "Then . . . then why didn't you talk to me?" This was all new to Robbie, and that feeling from before that had stopped when Jo talked to him suddenly came back.
Jo shrugged, that little blush back on her cheeks. "I was scared. I'm . . . I'm not a fan of rejection, maybe more so than normal people are."
Robbie scoffed as he shook his head, still amazed by this turn of events. "Why did you automatically assume that I was going to reject you?"
Jo bit her lip lightly. "Our whole year knows about . . . well Lily."
Now Robbie scowled again, feeling a bit angry. But not at her or the people in his year. At himself. "You guys don't have to pretend like I'll shatter because of Lily! I may like her but I'm not stupid! I know it's never going to happen! And I know I have to move on from that!"
Jo looked at him in surprise now. "I'm sorry," she apologized.
Robbie let his shoulders sag in relief. It was like his words lifted weight from his shoulders. "No, no, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap . . . but I just haven't done that since I told Lily how I felt."
"I'm sorry." And this time her apology was different, and Robbie appreciated it.
Robbie sighed, a little unsure of what to say. "Um . . . look just don't worry about my feelings for Lily. I'm sure that they'll disappear one day."
Jo nodded, still a little quiet. But then she locked eyes with him. "So, have you thought about our plan for Hogsmeade yet? Because I was thinking that maybe . . . if you're ok with it that we could make it just the two of us?"
Before Robbie could even process the fact that he had just been asked out, the reminder and memories of being with Elisa floated in his head. And then he felt guilty, and that earlier feeling rose so high that he was finally able to recognize it. Shame.
Robbie kicked at the floor. "That might not be such a good idea."
Jo's face dropped a little, and it made him feel all the worse. "Oh," she mumbled.
"It's not you!" Robbie quickly assured. "And it has nothing to do with my feelings for Lily. It's just that . . . I don't deserve it after today."
Jo looked confused now. "What did you do?"
Robbie felt his face grow hot as he gulped. He had to do it. She deserved to know if she had these feelings for him. "I slept with Elisa this afternoon," he said, his shame trying to choke him.
She looked a little surprised at first, but then Jo almost looked curious, as if she'd just figured something out. "Is that why she's always flirting with you now? We just figured she was trying to move on from Alec to you, especially since you're a bit more popular than Alec."
Robbie was a bit surprised that she wasn't angry. "Oh, no. It just happened . . . maybe twenty minutes ago, now."
Jo looked surprised again. "Oh. Good, well maybe she'll shut up now."
Robbie felt really confused. "You aren't mad?"
Jo just raised a brow. "Why would I be mad that you had sex with her? It's not like . . . it's not like we were dating or you even knew my feelings before you did it. And Elisa . . . she's a bitch, so this doesn't surprise me about her."
"You still like me . . . even though I just told you that I just had sex with another girl?" Robbie asked, as if trying to clarify it.
Jo nodded. "Yes, Robbie. I still like you. I mean, do you hate me because I've had sex before?" she questioned.
Robbie felt a bit surprised. "You mean you've . . . ?"
Jo laughed and nodded. "Yeah, I'm not a virgin. My first time was last year with Cade. He didn't tell you?"
Robbie shook his head. "No, he didn't."
Jo shrugged. "It happened during a Slytherin party, and few times afterwards, but nothing came of it. So, do you hate me?"
Robbie shook his head, looking a bit sheepish. "No. I get what you mean."
Jo smiled. "Good. So, are we going to Hogsmeade together, or not?"
Robbie felt a small grin come over his lips. "Yeah, sure. Sounds like a plan to me."
Jo's smile brightened. "Perfect. So, still going for that run, because I don't mind staying to watch."
Robbie laughed. "I got a better idea. How about I walk, and you walk with me, instead of just watching?"
"That sounds perfect," Jo said a bit quietly.
And as they walked, Robbie felt better than he had in a long time. Because now, he felt a little less lost. He felt like, finally, someone else understood him, if at least just a little.
