"If there is anything you need or feel, tell us, alright?"
Shadow had done that Shadow-smile, which was to a bystander nothing but a grimace yet Sonic knew it was but a failed attempt at a genuine smile. The black warrior had been forced to leave, for GUN needed his testimony, as well as his help with the clean up... of what had happened. The Blue Blur had tried to smile at the other, but he found that he couldn't for he knew it was still there, he knew it would come out again and he knew it would wreak havoc on his friends again. The memories of what he saw, what he experienced through the creature's actions was fresh.
Now, hours after the hedgehog had left, he looked down at his knees, knowing it would happen soon. It was only a matter of time before his fur turned black once more. He looked away, towards the sunset. His perch on the roof made him was a reminder of older, fonder memories, but they weren't strong enough to comfort him. Nothing was.
It's going to come back...
The hand he was using to hold the Emerald Shadow left with him began stinging. As if it couldn't bear to be in touch with his cursed self.
...it always does...

Worlds away wind danced with leaves the size of houses, weaving in between the fruits of a giant tree and tickling the soft white bark. Among the gigantic leaves sat a creature covered in white fur. Her eyes, a sharp silvery blue, stared deep into the horizon of the endless grassland, thoughtful.
"It's going to happen soon."
She didn't turn as a second creature landed soundlessly behind her. The great bald eagle closed his mighty wings and sat next to the smaller immortal, his razor sharp beak nuzzling against the side of her muzzle in a attempt to comfort her. The avian was thrice as big as the squirrel, with bronze and brown feathers and wise, honey-shaded eyes.
"The lost Eight and and the fabled Seventh are one; three year's worth of signs have come undone."
A sigh.
"I know."
Silver-blue eyes narrowed.
"I'll be ready."

In the deepest corners of the universe, a being was awoken. The creature rose from its bed of stone, the pests that had been using it's powerful body as a home scurrying away in fright. All three heads were lifted high in the sky. The monstrous wyrm looked at the skies above, examining it with care, as if it was seeing something none other could watch.
"Son of the Tree has awoken..." It breathed from its middle head, repeating the message the stars had brought to it.
"Interesting."
Bright red wings, the color of blood, opened wide at the beast's side, the fur on it's body shimmering like the most beautiful rubies one could find. The monster rumbled lowly as it began moving away from the spot it had been hibernating for millenniums.
"It's been a long time since he awoke."
Golden eyes flared with life.
Aaaaaand done! Oh god I'm so happy, I could almost cry!
